Karin, a Muslim neurologist, wins case about GMC racism against him General Medical Council discriminated against doctor because of his race An employment tribunal has ruled that the General Medical Council, which regulates the medical profession, discriminated against a doctor because of his race. The Reading Employment Tribunal upheld the complaints made by Consultant Urologist Omer Karim who is mixed race and Muslim. Dr Karim, who worked at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough, Berkshire, said he was discriminated against during a GMC investigation after the same charges against a white doctor were dismissed. The tribunal heard Dr Karim was an internationally renowned urologist who had been a whistleblower in a case about surgeons performing operations without appropriate training. In 2013 Dr Karim and other doctors at the hospital raised concerns with the Care Quality Commission that ethnic minority doctors were being subjected to workplace bullying and, although the matter was referred to the GMC, no action was taken. Also in 2013 the GMC received allegations of concern against Dr Karim but they were deemed not to meet the required threshold and were closed with no further action. In October 2014 the GMC received a copy of an external review commissioned by the Trust into the operation of the Urology Department.

Daszak served on the wildly compromised World Health Organizations (WHO) COVID-19 investigation team. He championed the efforts to ‘debunk’ the lab origin theory of the virus, despite mounting support for the claim first made by experts on Steve Bannon’s War Room: Pandemic podcast in early January 2020. Websites masquerading as fact checkers still call the lab theory false, despite the shift in tone from the Biden regime, leading world scientists, and intelligence officials. EcoHealth Alliance also funneled hundreds of thousands of U.S. taxpayer dollars from Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) to its research partner, the Wuhan Institute of Virology, to conduct studies on killer bat coronaviruses. And Google.org, the charity arm of the tech behemoth, has also been funding studies carried out by EcoHealth alliance researchers including Peter Daszak since at least 2010.

U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky tweeted Saturday, “NOTHING TO SEE HERE … Former director of CDC is now CEO of the foundation that funds FACTCHECK.org’s vaccine fact checking program. Massie attached a screenshot from Factcheck.org in which the site explains that its SciCheck “COVID-19/Vaccination Project is made possible by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation,” which it reveals is worth $53,501. SciCheck is a section of the FactCheck website that it says “focuses exclusively on false and misleading scientific claims that are made by partisans to influence public policy.” SciCheck has now become wholly devoted to “debunking” criticism of vaccines, masks, and other COVID-19 related concerns, attempting, for example, to refute Tucker Carlson’s questioning of the effectiveness of the vaccines.

Good news – Ivermectin trials for Covid 19 Covid patients will be given a cheap head lice drug ivermectin on the NHS in trial to see if it can help them recover at home Oxford scientists to trial ivermectin to see if it can help patients recover at home The antiparasitic drug is already being used to treat Covid in 20 countries But experts have so far expressed doubt over its effectiveness Scientists will begin giving people with Covid symptoms ivermectin to determine whether it can help infected patients to recover at home. Oxford University researchers are leading leading the trial of the antiparasitic drug, which can cost as little as £1.50 for a course of treatment. Ivermectin is already used in around 20 countries to treat Covid but is only licensed in the UK as a treatment for parasitic worms, head lice, scabies and rosacea. The study is part of the Oxford PRINCIPLE trial, which aims to find treatments to slow or stop the progression of the virus. Experts hope to find treatments that will prevent people most at risk falling seriously ill from Covid from needing hospital care.

Press TV taken down from internet in US. ‘Fraudcast News’ book and interview  US seizes three dozen websites used for ‘Iranian disinformation’ Seized sites include Press TV and Houthi and Palestinian outlets. Move comes amid tense efforts to revive nuclear deal. US Justice Department seized 33 Iranian government-affiliated media websites, as well as three of the Iraqi group Kataeb Hezbollah, which it said were hosted on US-owned domains in violation of sanctions. The websites were held by the Iranian Islamic Radio and Television Union (IRTVU), which is reportedly run by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp’s Quds Force (IRGC). “Components of the government of Iran … disguised as news organisations or media outlets targeted the United States with disinformation campaigns and malign influence operations,” the Justice Department said in a statement. Iran’s foreign ministry on Wednesday called the seizure an example of a “systematic effort to distort freedom of speech on a global level and silence independent voices in media”. Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh in a statement said the “shameful” move by Washington shows that the Biden administration is continuing former President Donald Trump’s path, and vowed Iran will pursue the issue through legal channels. Both IRTVU and IRGC have been placed on the US sanctions blacklist, making it illegal for Americans, US companies, and foreign or non-American companies with US subsidiaries to have business with them or their subsidiaries. Visitors to leading Iranian media sites such as Press TV and Al-Alam, the country’s main English language and Arabic language broadcasters, as well as the Al-Masirah TV channel of Yemen’s Houthis, were met with single-page statements on Wednesday, declaring the website “has been seized by the United States Government” accompanied by the seals of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the US Commerce Department. Kataeb Hezbollah, the Iraqi group which owned three sites that were seized, is a military faction with close ties to Tehran that Washington has formally designated a terror group. The US government also took over the domain name of the news website Palestine Today, which reflects the viewpoints of Gaza-based groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad, redirecting the site to the same notice. Bahrain’s LuaLua TV, a channel run by opposition groups with offices in London and Beirut, was also seized by the US.

Several previously obscured aspects to the 1995 Princess Diana Panorama interview came to light in last week’s questioning of two former Director Generals of the BBC Tony Hall and John Birt – Lord Hall apologised to the Royal family for the hurt cause by Martin Bashir’s Panorama interview with Diana, Princess of Wales. Former BBC director-general Lord John Birt was second to be questioned by MPs about events leading up to the interview. They also faced questions on the broadcaster’s handling of investigations into how Bashir obtained the world exclusive.  1. That the Panorama interview was originally going to be about surveillance of the royal family, Princess Diana specifically, by GCHQ and MI5 allegedly working under direct orders from Prince Charles and his private secretary Richard Aylard, to give Charles a legal and media advantage during the couple’s separation. 2. That the BBC were sent a letter, signed by Princess Diana, which explained that she had definitely not been coerced into doing the interview with Martin Bashir, something that had been alleged by BBC Chairman Marmaduke Hussey, Earl Spencer and Prince Charles. This allegation is at the centre of the recent resurgence of this’scandal’ 3. That the 2020 Earl Spencer Interview which has precipitated this latest fuss came ‘out of the blue’ after 25 years supposedly ‘turning history on its head’ now Diana is not around to refute it. 4. That the BBC, Tony Hall specifically, was already in trouble with Prince Charles because he was investigating the Jimmy Savile (paedophile) affair, Savile being a close friend of Prince Charles. 5. That the BBC had settled with right wing Tory MPs Harvey Proctor and Neil Hamilton out of court who accused the previous Director General, Alasdair Milne of smearing them on a previous Panorama ‘Maggie’s Militant Tendency’, a case which led to his being forced to resign despite never actually being decided on by the courts.

Nuclear energy.  Malfunction at Chinese nuclear power facility – How serious is the nuclear power plant radiation leak in China? How long has this been going on for? – EDF first received reports of increases in contamination in the primary circuit in October 2020. The government of Hong Kong, which is 130 kilometres from the plant, said on 8 April there was an “operational event” at the plant on 5 April, which involved the release of a “very small amount of gas”. The gas wasn’t named. Are people at risk? – It appears not. Carrie Lam, the leader of the government of Hong Kong, said today that monitoring of radiation levels around the city shows “everything is normal”. EDF maintains the level of radioactivity observed at the plant is below levels required by Chinese authorities. Framatome described the problems at the plant as “a performance issue”. “According to the data available, the plant is operating within the safety parameters,” it said in a statement.

Allan Jeffrey and Roy Pumphrey, from Stop Hinkley, on the problems with nuclear energy and how it isn’t ‘green’ or the answer to climate change.  Hinkley Point C: a fish killing machine? – 03 June 2021 – Lifelong angler and champion of angling in the Bristol Channel, John May has been leading the campaign against the proposed cooling water intakes for Hinkley Point C power station. As with the proposed power station at Sizewell, Suffolk, the operators, EDF, propose to use cooling water taken directly from the sea, a process that risks killing millions of fish a year. I have spoken about the killing of fish and marine life and met with experienced people connected to nuclear power stations, local NGOs, the Angling Trust and members of my own fishing club that have worked at HPC. All have added to my comments and observations. All fear the consequences of the HPC scheme even before the request for the removal of the AFDs was made. EDF have published thousands of pages of information to support their so called “fish friendly” measures. All is disputed and my fear is that the impact is being seriously downplayed. I am not against Hinckley Point C itself. This is not about stopping the building of a nuclear power station. It is about the impact on the fish and marine life of the Bristol Channel and Severn Estuary, which we must not forget, is meant to have some of the highest levels of environmental protection there is. The EA, CEFAS and EDF need to be straight with the public and fulfil their responsibility to protect the marine environment. Some kill is inevitable but not to this extent. I am so annoyed at the way that the mighty EDF advised by CEFAS have given out so much misinformation to the public and the way that they seem to be manipulating the process. They both know the process inside out. For many anglers and the public it is highly technical and confusing. The effects of HPC will be felt throughout the channel on both the Welsh and English waters for at least the next 70 years. We must get it right or it will slowly and continuously take a massive toll on the environment just like HPB has been doing.

Partnerships & engagement manager Ellie Milone explained she was sorting the letters into three separate piles: “positive”, “negative” and “very, very abusive” comments that need to be reported to the police. The piles were roughly even, she said. But a year later, in response to the documentary, the feedback has been very different, head of mayor’s office Kevin Slocombe said. Mr Slocombe said the response to the mayor’s office “is the same as it is on social media and in the national press – overwhelmingly positive”. “Opening the office up to the transparency of a fly on the wall was clearly very powerful,” he told the Local Democracy Reporting Service on Friday, June 11. Mr Slocombe did not explain the extent of the feedback when asked. The current Bristol Zoo Gardens site, an 12-acre plot in the Clifton area of the city, will be sold and turned into housing and an ‘urban conservation hub’. The decision to relocate was announced after the second lockdown forced Bristol Zoo Gardens and Wild Place Project to close – and follows years of declining visitor numbers to Bristol Zoo. The organisation had already been making operating losses in four of the last six years and COVID-19 had placed further pressure on it, as it was forced to close its doors during the peak UK spring and summer months. BZS will now set out on a planning permission process to relocate the main zoo to the Wild Place site. Bristol Zoo Gardens will remain open until late 2022 and visitors will not see an immediate change while plans are developed further. Wild Place Project will remain open throughout this time, until it becomes the new Bristol Zoo from early 2024.

That would be a fundamental breach of their human rights, not to mention the Belfast Agreement. But Government counsel also maintains none of these laws have been broken. For this to hold true would require diametrically opposite legal positions to somehow happily co-exist. A sort of constitutional Schrödinger’s cat. The truth of the matter is much less fanciful and altogether simpler. The Act of Union has been broken, but illegally.

Secretary of State for Education Gavin Williamson reacted angrily on Tuesday night, calling the move “simply absurd,” while adding that “she is the head of state and a symbol of what is best about the UK.” According to a report by The Times, after a majority vote, graduate students at Magdalen College took down the colorized print of the queen from their recreation room, because “for some students, depictions of the monarch and the British monarchy represent recent colonial history.” The students’ move also triggered condemnation from the right-leaning newspaper, Daily Telegraph, which wrote on Tuesday that the queen “has become the latest victim of cancel culture,” or ostracism of those whose opinions are deemed unacceptable. Furthermore, the royal commentator, Richard Fitzwilliams, branded the move as “nasty.” “It was decided that the room should be a welcoming, neutral place for all members, regardless of background, demographic, or views,” said Matthew Katzman, head of the Middle Common Room committee at Magdalen. The measure comes on the heels of student protests against historical figures with links to the British Empire or slavery. Another Oxford college, Oriel, last month contentiously reversed its decision to remove a controversial statue of the 19th-century colonialist Cecil Rhodes, which sparked widespread anger in the UK. The Oriel College was accused of “institutional racism” and about 150 lecturers have announced they will refuse to teach students.

Taxing of big business to be discussed – companies making more than 10% profit to be taxed more – G7 tax deal: What is it and are Amazon and Facebook included? Under the G7 deal, companies could be taxed in any country where they make more than 10% profit on sales. Above that point, the company would have to pay 20% tax. The deal is “all about changing which country gets to tax the companies”, says Chris Sanger, head of tax policy at accountancy firm EY. The second part of the deal is a global minimum corporate tax rate of 15%. The aim of this is to stop nations undercutting each other’s tax rate to attract multinational companies. Ireland has operated a policy of attracting US technology companies to set up their headquarters there, chiefly through the offer of a low corporation tax rate of 12.5% (the UK’s is 19% and set to rise to 25% by 2023). Along with Facebook, Google has its international headquarters in Dublin’s Grand Canal Quay, with TripAdvisor and AirBnB nearby. If the G7 deal goes ahead, the tax advantages which have attracted these companies would cease to exist.

Undoubtedly, this method of biased treatment of member states not only harms the nonproliferation regime, but also reduces trust in the Agency’s professional activities and lowers cooperation between the Agency and its member states.” Gharibabadi further advised the IAEA to refrain from pursuing any political agenda, and instead take a transparent stance on the Israeli regime’s “unacceptable” failure to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and its continued refusal to place all of its nuclear activities and facilities under the IAEA comprehensive safeguards agreements.
