Ukraine – history and Freemasons. The following year, Pinchuk partnered with another oligarch, Rinat Akhmetov—today Ukraine’s richest man—to snap up the country’s biggest steel plant, Krivorozhstal. A year later, the deal was annulled and the plant was sold to British-Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal for $4.8 billion—six times the price paid by Pinchuk and his partner. The sale of Krivorozhstal became a metaphor for corruption under Kuchma, and the affair dealt a harsh blow to Pinchuk’s reputation, not just at home, but in the United States: In a diplomatic cable to Washington released by WikiLeaks, former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor wrote that the two auctions were “rigged” in favor of Pinchuk and sold “for a cut-rate price.”

Russia says seized “secret documents” show Ukraine planned offensive operation in Donbass – Russian troops have obtained secret documents of the command of the National Guard of Ukraine which confirms that Ukrainian forces were covertly preparing an offensive operation in Donbass in March 2022, the Russian Ministry of Defense claims. – “During special military operation, secret documents of the command of the National Guard of Ukraine ended up in the hands of the Russian servicemen. These documents confirm the covert preparation by the Kiev regime of an offensive operation in the Donbass in March 2022,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement, publishing what they described as a “secret order” of the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Colonel-General Nikolai Balan dated January 22, 2022.

The guiding line of the World Bank was, we’ve got to provide infrastructure for building up plantation agriculture in Latin America, and Africa, and other countries, so that they will grow tropical export crops, but they cannot be permitted to grow grain or wheat to feed themselves; they must be dependent on the United States. And so the function of free trade, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund has been to finance dependency, backed up by the American support of dictatorships throughout Latin America who agree to have client oligarchies supporting pro-American trade patterns and avoiding any kind of self-reliance, so that the United States can do what it has recently done to Russia and other countries, impose sanctions – say, well, now that you depended on us for your grain, we can now impose sanctions, and you can’t feed yourself if you don’t follow the policies we want.

BBC World Service Digital planet – examines video conferencing apps like Skype or Zoom which still send an audio stream to the server despite users having muted their microphone making it possible for them to be used as surveillance tools even when users think they are muted – Video conferencing technology might still be listening to your voice even when you are on mute. A new study shows that a number of video meeting apps were recording audio even when the user had switched off their microphone. The researchers analysed the code behind the apps and found that all of the apps in the test were gathering raw audio when they were on mute – and that one of them was sending that information over the internet at the same rate, whether the user was muted or not. They even identified what someone was doing 82% of the time e.g cooking, typing. Professor Kassem Fawaz, one of the authors of the study, explains more.

Sally Beck on James Dellingpole’s podcast – details how Andrew Wakefield became wrongly ‘discredited’ for his brilliant work exposing harmful  vaccines. ‘The issue was not about me, Andrew Wakefield, but about how to crush dissent. I scare the establishment because I care and I am diligent. I think they’re terrified because they’ve not done adequate safety studies. I’ve been treated in the standard way in which people who raise these kinds of questions are treated. ‘It’s extremely challenging, but if I fail to stand up to the bullies, the price to be paid is enormous.’ The controversy began when his paper outlining a link between autism and bowel disease – but which didn’t directly blame the MMR vaccine – was published in The Lancet in February 1998. In 2001, he was forced out of his job at London’s Royal Free Hospital over allegations that his research was flawed, and went to work in America. And in 2004, he was accused of secretly being paid by solicitors acting for parents who believed their children had been harmed by the MMR jab. Worse still, the editor of The Lancet said his journal would never have accepted Dr Wakefield’s ‘fatally flawed’ paper if it had known of the alleged conflict of interest. The editor asked the 13 co-authors of the paper to sign a retraction of any ‘interpretation’ of a causal link between MMR and autism, and ten agreed. ‘But we were being asked to retract an interpretation that we hadn’t made,’ explained Dr Wakefield. ‘The interpretation was that the MMR vaccine caused autism. We had never said that, so we couldn’t retract it.’ Only two of Dr Wakefield’s colleagues, Professor John Walker-Smith and Professor Simon Murch, still stand by The Lancet paper. They, too, are being ‘tried’ by the GMC. Dr Wakefield uprooted his wife Carmel and four children from their home in London in 2004 to join him in the US, where he carries on his research today. Meanwhile, a growing body of research from around the world appears to show no evidence of a link between MMR and autism, while the slump in vaccinations in this country has resulted in outbreaks of both measles and mumps, from which at least one child has died. But Dr Wakefield is unrepentant. ‘I’ve never said don’t vaccinate,’ he insisted. ‘I made it clear that children should continue to be protected using single vaccines. It was the Government’s withdrawal of the option of the single-measles vaccine which has led to this problem. Parents who were concerned about MMR safety were given no alternative and that’s the reason these diseases have come back.’ Dr Wakefield’s 1998 paper was not in fact about whether the MMR jab caused autism, but whether a group of healthy children who had been diagnosed with autism were suffering from bowel disease.

Rand Paul Blocks Senate Vote on $40 Billion Ukraine Aid Paul wants to add text to the bill to create an inspector general for oversight of the billions being sent to Ukraine On Thursday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) blocked an effort in the Senate to hold a quick vote on the nearly $40 billion aid package for Ukraine that passed in the House on Tuesday. “My oath of office is to the US constitution not to any foreign nation and no matter how sympathetic the cause, my oath of office is to the national security of the United States of America,” Paul said on the Senate floor before blocking the vote. “We cannot save Ukraine by dooming the US economy.” Paul blocked the vote because he wanted to include text in the bill that would create a special inspector general for oversight of the billions being sent to Ukraine. He initially offered to include the oversight as an amendment, which would have been voted on separately, but he ultimately wanted to change the legislation. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) were hoping to get the legislation passed on Thursday night, demonstrating the bipartisan support for spending massive amounts of money to fund Ukraine’s war. Paul’s objection will set the vote back at least one week.

Shock poll reveals Americans “are OK with Ukraine losing” the war with Putin’s Russia AMERICANS are “OK with letting Ukraine lose” the war to Russia, a shocking poll for Express.co.uk has revealed. The monthly Democracy Institute/ Express.co.uk poll of 1,500 Americans who are “likely voters” has shown that 43 percent are “OK” with Ukraine losing compared to 41 percent “not OK” while 16 percent have no opinion. This comes despite the heroic attempts of Ukraine President Zelensky to garner worldwide support against the Russian invasion. But Democracy Institute has warned that the reason for this is “cynicism” of Government policies created by the fact “at least half of Americans thought they were hoodwinked over covid” lockdowns. In another worrying development, Americans also appear to be losing confidence in the sanctions regime against Vladimir Putin’s Russia with 53 percent believing it hurts the USA more with the cost of living crisis the top political issue. The findings are yet another blow to the Democrats and Joe Biden with voters clearly showing their intention to back the Republicans in the midterm elections in November by 50 percent ro 42 percent. While Biden polls negatively in all policy areas one of the worst is foreign policy where 56 percent disapprove compared to 40 percent approve. This follows the catastrophic handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal in 2021 but also appears to have shattered confidence in his Russia/ Ukraine policy. In fact according to the poll for a second month in a row more Americans believe that it would be better for Biden to leave office than Putin by 53 percent to 44 percent. Only 38 percent approve of Biden’s handling of the Ukraine crisis compared to 52 percent disapprove.

Who is left in the Azovstal tunnels? There are soldiers still resisting, though they are no doubt weary, and allegedly running out of supplies. Many are wounded. Russian and pro-Russian armies of the Donbas region have been accused of breaking the humanitarian ceasefire. This is likely true, especially since on Saturday (7 May 2022) a video was released of Azov soldiers using the humanitarian window as an opportunity to mine entrances to the tunnels. Alexander Khodakovskycommander of the East forces showed the video footage of Ukrainian nationalists preparing another sabotage against the Russian military at Azovstal. He wrote: “While we demonstrate humanism, the enemy uses the moment to mine the passages. Then, when they shout about our treachery again, like yesterday, after they calculated an anti-tank guided-missille, you will understand why we do this.” It is widely-held, from both sides in the conflict, that there are no civilians left in the catacombs – though whether that is true remains to be seen. There are thought to be scientists and civilian personnel in the biochemical laboratories funded by the west, and also military advisors from a number of NATO countries. If this is true no doubt the spin-doctors are working flat-out on a story to mitigate the damage over NATO involvement. Russia claims that one of its reasons for the pre-emptive attack was because Kiev, aided by NATO, planned to take military control of the Donbas regions. Kiev denies this, despite documents being found suggesting otherwise. A priority now is to get the wounded soldiers and doctors out and into hospital. It is unlikely any of Azov battalion soldiers will be allowed to go to Kiev when they have recovered. A number of those holed up in the tunnels have tried to escape, some dressed as women, others pretending to be civilians, some in daring outside attempts from Kiev and French forces by helicopter. Up to now 115 of Ukraine’s 148-strong fleet of helicopters have been destroyed according to Russian sources. It is suspected that few, if any escape attempts, have succeeded. The latest to be captured, it is claimed, is Canadian Lieutenant General Trevor Cadieu. What, another Lieutenant General? Some will recall that western paid fact-checkers worked tirelessly to dispel information that US Lieutenant General Roger Cloutier, had been captured.

A total of 94,552 people voted in the referendum, almost 29% of those eligible. 56,113 – votes in favour of committee system 38,439 – votes in favour of mayoral system The current mayor Marvin Rees will continue in the role before stepping down in 2024. He told ITV News: “I think this was a distraction but it was a distraction with major consequences for the city.
