Soldiers occupied the offices of three local television and radio stations on Saturday morning, and started broadcasting the porn clips intermittently on Saturday afternoon on the Al-Watan, Ammwaj, and Al-Sharaq channels, the residents said. “I have six children at home; they have nowhere to go with what is going on here and can’t even watch TV,” Reema, a Palestinian mother, said. “It’s not healthy really. I think the Israelis want to mess with our young men’s heads.” Anita, a mother of three, complained about “the deliberate psychological damage caused by these broadcasts”. “I am furious. These are the people who are shooting at us that also play this disgusting trick on us,” she said from her house in east Jerusalem, where the channels are also available. “Luckily, there is no electricity in half of Ramallah.” A fourth local station, whose premises were not seized by the army, ran a message across its screen letting people know it was the Israelis who were behind the graphic scenes. The Israeli military denied that it had anything to do with the pornographic programming and instead blamed the Palestinian leaders.

Lab grown chicken approved in US.   Romanian Senate votes to ban sale of lab-grown synthetic meat Update: Reacting to the passing of the bill in the Romanian Senate prohibiting the sale of cultivated meat, the Good Food Institute Europe noted that “cultivated meat is the same meat we eat today, but made in cultivators.” Cultivators, the nonprofit adds, are similar to fermentors used for brewing beer. The Institute argues in a response sent to Romania-insider.com that lab-grown meat could also cut the climate impact of meat by up to 92%, reduce air pollution by up to 94%, and use up to 90% less land. “This proposal threatens to cut Romania off from investment and job opportunities, undermine efforts to tackle climate change and restrict consumer choice. It would also leave Romania behind as countries around the world invest in cultivated meat as part of a future-proof food system,” said Seth Roberts, policy manager at the Good Food Institute Europe. He added that the law is likely in breach of the European single market and that cultivated meat will be subject to a rigorous, 18-month EU regulatory authorization process before it can be sold in Romania. According to the project, “the sale of lab-grown synthetic meat obtained from animal cells is prohibited on the domestic market.” The sale of synthetic meat is subject to fines ranging from RON 200,000 to 300,000 (EUR 40,000-60,000). The legislative proposal will also be discussed by the Chamber of Deputies, which has the final say in the matter. The legislative proposal, initiated by a group of MPs from the governing Social Democratic Party (PSD), aims to regulate the naming, presentation, labeling, and marketing of meat products, “with the goal of safeguarding public health, ensuring hygiene conditions, and providing consumers with accurate information,” as stated in the expert commission’s report cited by Digi24. Lab-grown meant “is still in the experimental phase worldwide, and public catering in Romania and the European Union ensures compliance with health standards. Let’s not invent something for which there is currently no shortage,” Social Democratic MP and former minister of agriculture Adrian Chesnoiu told Adevarul.

British Jews’ fear and defiance amid record monthly anti-Semitism reports A monthly record number of reports of anti-Semitic incidents were recorded following the 11-day conflict between Israel and the Palestinians in May, a charity says. So how does it feel to be Jewish in the UK? Rabbi Nicky Liss had been preparing to give a midnight talk at a north London synagogue last month, when he began to feel nervous. A rabbi of 13 years, he was used to giving speeches. This one, to mark the start of the Jewish festival of Shavuot on 16 May, should not, on the face of it, have been any different. But that afternoon, events built to what he describes as a “crescendo”. He’d learned that his good friend and fellow rabbi, Rafi Goodwin, had been attacked outside his synagogue in Chigwell, in Essex – allegedly struck over the head with a brick. Two men have denied causing grievous bodily harm, robbery and religiously aggravated criminal damage and are due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court for trial in November. In a separate incident that afternoon, a man was filmed apparently using a megaphone to shout anti-Semitic abuse from a convoy of cars with Palestinian flags that travelled through St John’s Wood in north-west London – an area that is home to a Jewish community. Four men were arrested and remain on bail until mid-July.Over the next few hours, worried phone calls and messages buzzed through Mr Liss’s community. Some feared the situation in north London could become “very threatening” by the evening. Rabbi Nicky Liss says this is the first time he has felt a physical threat to his safety Orthodox Jews do not use cars on religious holidays or the Sabbath, so Mr Liss had planned to walk the 25 minutes from his home on-site at Highgate synagogue to the synagogue in Hampstead Garden Suburb. But the day’s events left Mr Liss with an agonising dilemma over whether he should go ahead with his talk – and what, as chair of United Synagogue’s rabbinical council, he should advise concerned colleagues to do. Advice was sought from the Community Security Trust (CST), a Jewish charity that provides security support and monitors reports of anti-Semitic incidents.

Obviously, everything should be done within international law.” His comments sparked a furious backlash and demands for the Labour boss to formally call for a ceasefire in the region. Several Labour councillors quit over his remarks – including Amna Abdullatif, the first Arab Muslim woman elected to Manchester City Council, Russell Whiting in Colwick, Nottinghamshire, and Mona Ahmed, a Labour councillor in Kensington and Chelsea. And this morning a number of protestors held a demonstration outside the Labour HQ in central London. A number of MPs have signed an Early Day Motion calling for a formal ceasefire. The Labour boss was asked to clarify his remarks today in an interview with the BBC. Sir Keir said: “I welcome this question, because I know that LBC clip has been widely shared and caused real concern and distress in some Muslim communities. “Let me clear about what I was saying, and what I wasn’t saying. “I was saying Israel had the right to self defence. When I said ‘that right’, it was that right to self defence. “I was not saying Israel had the right to cut off water, food, fuel, or medicines, on the contrary.

The country’s authorities announced Wednesday that they will refuse visas to representatives of the international organization in retaliation for remarks made the day before by U.N. Secretary General António Guterres. Israel’s ambassador to the U.N., Gilad Erdan, and Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen called for Guterres’ resignation after he proclaimed on Tuesday that Hamas attacks did not happen “in a vacuum” but after Palestinians have been “subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation.” Israel’s permanent representative to the organization said that because of these words, his government will not give visas to U.N. representatives. Erdan confirmed that the visa denial has already been put into practice with U.N. Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths. “It’s time we teach them a lesson,” the Israeli diplomat said. Far from retracting his statements, Guterres on Wednesday reaffirmed them in a statement and subsequently in an impromptu appearance before the Security Council. The U.N. chief said he was “shocked” at the “misinterpretations” of his statement on Tuesday, denounced the “clear violations of international law” in Gaza, and reiterated his call for “an immediate humanitarian ceasefire to remedy epic suffering.” Guterres restated, word for word, the address he gave on Tuesday. The U.N. secretary general on Tuesday opened a session of the Security Council devoted to the situation in the Middle East, delivering a speech in which he condemned Hamas’ attack on October 7 but also talked about the roots of the conflict: “It is important to also recognize the attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum. The Palestinian people have been subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation. They have seen their land steadily devoured by settlements and plagued by violence; their economy stifled; their people displaced and their homes demolished. Their hopes for a political solution to their plight have been vanishing.” The Israeli ambassador posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) asking for Guterres’ resignation. “I call on him to resign immediately. There is no justification or point in talking to those who show compassion for the most terrible atrocities committed against the citizens of Israel and the Jewish people.” In the communiqué issued minutes before the Council meeting on Wednesday, where Guterres did not mention either Israel’s request for his resignation or its decision to block visas for U.N. staff, the secretary-general expressed his surprise at the Israeli reaction: “I am shocked by the misrepresentations by some of my statement … as if I was justifying acts of terror by Hamas. This is false. It was the opposite.” Guterres said on Wednesday that in his statement to the Security Council he had “condemned unequivocally” the Hamas attacks that killed 1,400 people: “Nothing can justify the deliberate killing, injuring and kidnapping of civilians, or the launching of rockets against civilian targets […] I believe it is necessary to set the record straight — especially out of respect for the victims and their families.” In his speech on Wednesday, Guterres raised the political stakes, and probably the diplomatic crisis with Israel, by advocating a two-state solution as a possible way out of the war. Far from giving in to the pressure, Guterres insisted on international law as a safeguard and recalled that the first rule of any conflict, the protection of civilians, cannot mean using them as human shields or having more than a million people evacuate to the south, and then continue bombing the south. The diplomatic spat, which threatens to escalate after Guterres’ show of firmness, could undermine the body’s tenuous credibility as an arbiter of conflicts and guarantor of international legality, since it has not been able to respond to the war in a unified manner. Israel, created out of a United Nations decision — the partition of Palestine, under British mandate, in 1947 — rarely complies with the resolutions that affect it issued by the Security Council, where the U.S. veto generally protects it from the consequences of almost unanimous international condemnations. Israel’s withering reaction, demanding the resignation of the secretary general and limiting visas to U.N. officials, has galvanized the Israeli political class, accustomed to pointing the finger at the United Nations when it comes to looking for an external culprit. Gilad Erdan, one of the most extremist leaders of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party, has often clashed in undiplomatic ways with the U.N.’s decisions, and in particular with those of its secretary general. In addition to Erdan, the Israeli foreign minister refused to meet with him and with families of hostages captured by Hamas. Speaking from Jerusalem, former Defense Minister Benny Gantz, a member of the opposition who has joined the national unity government, described Guterres as a “terror apologist.” In his address, Guterres recalled the “suffocating occupation, for 56 years,” the elephant in the room of the long conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. Hours later, faced with a growing cascade of invective from Israel, the U.N.’s top representative specified through the social network X that “the grievances of the Palestinian people cannot justify the atrocious attack by Hamas, an attack that also cannot justify the collective punishment of the Palestinian people (with the absolute blockade and bombardment of the Gaza Strip).” António Guterres criticized Hamas’ actions against the civilian population on Tuesday after meeting with relatives of hostages captured by the Islamic group and reiterated his call for their release, in a brief message on his X account: “After meeting with families whose loved ones have been taken hostage, I reaffirm my call for the immediate and unconditional release of all the hostages held in Gaza. Nothing can justify the killing, wounding, and abducting of civilians by Hamas.” The words by Guterres that bothered Israel in particular were uttered at the beginning of the Security Council session, when he pointed out that the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7 “did not happen in a vacuum” but followed 56 years of occupation. Ambassador Erdan considered these statements a justification for the attacks against Israeli civilians. “His statement that ‘the attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum’ expressed an understanding for terrorism and murder. It’s really unfathomable. It’s truly sad that the head of an organization that arose after the Holocaust holds such horrible views. A tragedy!” he said on X.

The International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) – of which Mr Blunt is co-director – announced it has written a notice of intention to prosecute UK government officials for “aiding and abetting war crimes in Gaza”. The move comes in response to Israel’s warning for 1.2 million people living in the northern part of the Gaza Strip to immediately leave their homes and move south. Israel launches first ground missions in Gaza – Israel-Hamas war latest Mr Blunt told Sky News he is “not sure [his] colleagues have grasped the legal peril they are in” and “everyone must act to restrain people” if they know war crimes are going to happen. “If you know that a party is going to commit a war crime – and this forcible transfer of people is a precise breach of one of the statutes that governs international law and all states in this area – then you are making yourself complicit,” he said. “And as international law has developed in this area, the fact of being complicit makes you equally guilty to the party carrying out the crime.”

Israel’s UN ambassador Gilad Erdan calls on UN representatives to ‘vote against this biased resolution.’ Solutions? Hypocrisy all round. Palestinian ambassador urges UN to ‘stop the killing’ as Israel pounds Gaza Riyad Mansour says certain nations that he did not name were applying a double standard on the war. The Palestinian envoy to the United Nations has implored member states to vote to end the Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip and to increase aid deliveries to the 2.3 million Palestinians living in the besieged territory. “I appeal to all of you to vote to stop the killing. Vote for humanitarian aid to reach those whose very survival depends on it. Vote to stop this madness,” Palestinian Ambassador Riyad Mansour said in an emotional speech to the UN General Assembly on Thursday. Arguing for a ceasefire, Mansour said certain nations that he did not name were applying a double standard on the conflict. “How can representatives of states explain how horrible it is that 1,000 Israelis were killed and not feel the same outrage when 1,000 Palestinians are now killed every single day?” Mansour asked the assembly. “Why not feel a sense of urgency to end their killing?” The 193-nation General Assembly met for an emergency session as aid agencies and rights groups warned that humanitarian conditions in Gaza are at a critical point more than two weeks into a relentless Israeli assault. Israel has bombarded the Palestinian territory since Hamas, which governs Gaza, killed at least 1,400 people in attacks on southern Israel, according to Israeli officials. More than 7,000 people have been killed in the Israeli bombardment, according to Gaza authorities, and Israel has also cut off supplies of food, water, electricity and fuel to the territory. Addressing the General Assembly, Israeli envoy Gilad Erdan described the Hamas attack as a “pogrom”. “The rockets were only cover for the pogrom that followed. Barbaric Hamas terrorists invaded Israel from the sea, the land and the air,” Erdan said. “They came with one purpose: to savagely murder every living thing they encountered.” Erdan made the comments as the assembly began a two-day meeting on the Middle East. It is due to vote on Friday on a resolution drafted by Arab states that calls for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Speaking on behalf of Arab states, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi accused Israel of “making Gaza a perpetual hell on earth. The trauma will haunt generations to come.” He said the impact on Palestinian civilians is immense. The Israeli siege and assault on Gaza has prompted a growing outcry as the death toll continues to rise and aid officials warn of an imminent humanitarian catastrophe. Medical services in Gaza have been near breaking point for days with fuel supplies strained by Israel’s siege of the strip. International leaders have also expressed concern that an anticipated Israeli ground invasion of Gaza could spark a wider escalation across the region.

Amir Weitmann, the head of the libertarian caucus in Israel’s Likud Party, appeared on Russia’s state-run RT News network this week and spoke about fighting between Israel and Hamas militants, as well as Russia’s war with Ukraine. While speaking about recent claims relating to al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City, Weitmann criticized Russia, saying that “we’re gonna finish this war, we’re going to win because we’re stronger. After this, Russia will pay the price, believe me, Russia will pay the price.” “Russia is supporting the enemies of Israel. Russia is supporting Nazi people who want to commit genocide on us and Russia will pay the price,” Weitmann said. “We’re gonna win this war. Afterwards, we’re not forgetting what you’re doing, we’re not forgetting, we will come, we will make sure Ukraine wins. We will make sure that you pay the price for what you have done, you as Russia.”

American celebrity saying trips to Israel were offered for free in exchange for posting positive comments about Israel. TikTok’er Cara Watsca TikTok handle @CaraWatsca in UK being penalised for supporting Palestine but then offered double the money to change her mind. Exposed: Israel is paying social media influencers to whitewash Gaza genocide “I’m reaching out to you on behalf of a global collective of agencies, influencers, and content creators who are coming together to raise awareness about the difficult situation in Israel.” This is a text from an email being sent to prominent social media influencers across the world by the Israeli regime and its lobbies based in the West, inviting them to join the disinformation campaign. The campaign has gained momentum in the wake of the Tel Aviv regime’s indiscriminate bombing campaign in the besieged Gaza Strip as well as the occupied West Bank over the last two weeks. More than 4,400 Israeli civilians, most of them children, have been killed in the Israeli airstrikes. The regime warplanes have also targeted hospitals, ambulances, churches and mosques in brazen violation of international humanitarian conventions, constituting horrendous war crimes. To counter the global backlash and to distort facts about what’s unfolding in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli regime and its backers in the West are turning to social media influencers to whitewash its crimes. “As you’re aware, the people of Israel are currently fighting not just a war against Hamas terrorism at home, but also in the battle to tell the story to the world,” reads one of the leaked emails. The words employed in the emails show how the regime that has been murdering children and bombing hospitals is hell-bent on demonizing the Palestinian resistance fighters as “terrorists.” Hamas-led ‘Al-Aqsa Storm’ (also known as Al-Aqsa Flood) operation launched on October 7 did not come in a vacuum. It was the natural response to daily atrocities inflicted on Palestinians. From the crippling siege of Gaza to the recurrent desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque to the expansion of illegal settler units in occupied territories to the inhumane condition of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, the Palestinian resistance fighters had been waiting to give their response. The surprise operation, which targeted the regime soldiers and settlers, took the far-right Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet by complete surprise and caused a major embarrassment to the regime amid the internal crisis. After facing the crushing defeat on the battlefield, the regime’s cyber-army is now busy in hiring social media influencers, both in the Arab and Western world, to justify the unjustifiable war crimes. “Our group has created a library of explainer videos that can be used directly on your platforms with hashtags #HAMASisISIS and #StandWithIsrael,” the email states further, adding that prominent influencers such as Kim Kardashian, Madonna, Gal Gadot, Casey Neistat and others have already joined. The attempt is clearly to project Hamas as the villains and the child-murdering regime as heroes. Sara Watson, a British social media influencer, took to her TikTok page to reveal that she had been approached by the Israeli regime, bribed and even coerced to retract her support for Palestine. “That is not going to happen, you cannot buy my morals,” she said in a short video, noting that the brand she was working with informed her of their decision to not work with her anymore. Watson was asked to pull down a post on Instagram that she had posted in solidarity with the people of Palestine and promised a hefty amount but she bluntly refused, she said in the video. Another social media user, whose video was widely shared on X (formerly Twitter), revealed that the Israeli regime was paying social media influencers $1,000 for every video “to put out reports about Hamas being evil and savage and beheading babies.” He slammed those social media influencers who took the media to participate in the regime’s disinformation campaign, saying they were “complicit in the genocide” unfolding in Gaza. “It is always about controlling the narrative, it’s always about putting your propaganda out there, to justify the horrific things you do to people in the world, just like the United States does,” he said.

Small group of people/companies running things.  Bristol City Council staff lose trust with bosses, survey shows But immediate line managers and colleagues received enormous support in the annual report Bristol City Council workers are losing faith in top bosses, an annual staff survey reveals. Twenty per cent of employees said they disagreed that the senior leadership team was steering the ship well – a four per cent increase on the year before. There was a 12 per cent rise in negative responses to the question: “I believe the council is now a better place to work than it was 12 months ago”, while six per cent fewer staff said they would recommend the local authority as a good place to work. But there was huge support for line managers, with 87 per cent saying they were approachable and 79 per cent replying that their boss gave them the support needed to do their job well. Head of human resources James Brereton told the HR committee on Thursday, September 21: “The results continue a longstanding trend of good and positive findings in relation to colleagues’ immediate managers and team, and another longstanding situation where senior leadership is seen a less warm light. There is a drop in the number of colleagues who feel Bristol City Council is a better place to work than last year.” He said the senior leadership team referred to directors and heads of service rather than politicians. Mr Brereton said chief executive Stephen Peacock had started a programme of visits by senior managers to staff who worked outside of City Hall to get a feel of experiences of working for the council on the frontline. He said the main focus would be on improvements in the growth and regeneration directorate where the most negative comments were received. A report to the committee said there were more positive answers across the board on questions to do with being treated fairly because of a person’s identity.

Here’s a response: Marvin, your State of the City speech seems to be a list of things that haven’t been delivered or resolved in your time in office. Most of the key infrastructure projects that previous Labour council’s failed to invest in remain uninvested in but with a tab left to be picked up by the next administration. There’s no funded mass transit proposal. It’s stalemated due to a lack of agreement between two bickering Labour Mayors who have prioritised their own personal animosity and egos above the needs of the city and region. The city continues to have deep divisions along race and class lines despite all the talk about diversity, equity and inclusion and tackling the “issues”. Where are the measurable outcomes showing improvement? But then you did watch the Colston statue come down and spot a self promotional media opportunity rather than a chance to trigger a real attempt to tackle the city’s long standing divisions. Congratulations Marvin, you built some homes (the vast majority at market rates with many being bought by private landlords) and yet still managed to miss every housing target you set yourself. The housing waiting list has increased to 20,000 families. The highest it has ever been, despite officers actively discouraging residents from going on the list “because it’s a waste of time”. Homelessness remains noticeably present everywhere, except, maybe, in the Bearpit, despite your promise to solve it. The vast majority of the 14,000 homes with planning permission are not being built and you try to blame a minority opposition party for this failure to deliver. Still no arena, public or privately funded, anywhere. And tens of millions in public funds sunk into an elitist city centre cultural venue because of a binding legal contract signed on your watch. All while deprived suburbs lose community/cultural facilities. City Leap has potential but so far isn’t unlocking any private investment and is falling behind its real investment plan, never mind this unsubstantiated £1bn you constantly quote at the press. Goram Homes also has some potential but your planning delays means it’s falling massively behind schedule. Bristol Waste is a basketcase with a revolving door board of directors. A direct result of poor corporate oversight. Your political interference in its business planning, meanwhile, has undermined any efforts to reduce costs. Elsewhere, your council is still complicit in developing SNCIs despite declaring an ‘Ecological Emergency’ and creating plenty of photo-ops of Labour politicians standing in fields saying how important green spaces are. There’s still no real plan for achieving net zero despite declaring a ‘Climate Emergency’. Then there’s the poorly implemented CAZ, almost as if it was designed to fail and disrupt. You are creating only one Liveable Neighbourhood and this is being poorly implemented and poorly consulted on with middle class neighbourhoods getting disproportionate input while poorer neighbourhoods are ignored. Local CiL projects, especially transport and parks, are not being delivered partly because staff are being taken away to work on “headline grabbing” strategic projects. The budget gap is currently larger than the Bundred one under Ferguson and there’s still no realistic plan to address it beyond service reduction and selling off council property. SEND?!?!! Say no more. Your “Deputy” Mayor hasn’t a clue what she is doing just like the chain of useless Labour education leads before her. Our kids and, increasingly, their parents are paying the price of this serial incompetence. The Dedicated Schools Grant is effectively in special measures and your administration is just crossing it’s fingers and hoping the government doesn’t pull the plug on this ever growing debt. Basically Marvin, you have left behind a stinking pile of crap and then have the nerve to lecture the councillors who will have to clear up your shit about how the city should be run!!! Get da fuck!

Director of legal and democratic services Tim O’Gara last week denied the authority had broken the law over the appointments. Answering a question from resident and democracy campaigner Mike Oldreive, he told a council meeting on Monday, October 9, that there was no requirement in legislation for the “independent persons”, who have an advisory role in investigations against councillors, to be voted in at full council. But Mr O’Gara, the monitoring officer who ensures the authority complies with the law, now says they do need the approval of a majority of members and that this is due to take place next month. At last week’s values & ethics sub-committee, Mr Oldreive asked whether the appointments had been made “unlawfully”, arguing that the Localism Act required a full council decision, which is common practice in many other local authorities. Mr O’Gara replied that this was a “complete misreading” of the law and that such a vote was not necessary. However, in an email to the resident, who was one of those whose complaints against councillors were not upheld, he now seems to have reversed his position and apologised for the “confusion”. The officer wrote on Friday, October 13: “Having reviewed the relevant legislation, I would like to clarify the position for you. “The recent recruitment process for Independent Persons will require the ratification of those appointments by full council and it is anticipated that this will be at the next ordinary meeting of full council on November 14. This is not the position that was outlined in the meeting.

Speaking from the Bedfordshire constituency,Sir Keir told supporters: “I think this really is a game changer.” “There is a confidence now in this changed Labour party that we can go anywhere across the country, put up a fight and win seats that we’ve never won before.” However, he said: “I don’t want to get carried away” and added that “every single vote on this journey has to be earned”. He later travelled to Tamworth, where he told party activists they had “absolutely smashed it”.

On Monday, a spokesperson for Guardian News and Media said: ‘The decision has been made not to renew Steve Bell’s contract. Steve Bell’s cartoons have been an important part of The Guardian over the past 40 years – we thank him and wish him all the best.’ Earlier this year the paper apologised over a cartoon depicting ex-BBC chairman Richard Sharp carrying a Goldman Sachs box in another sketch branded anti-Semitic. Artist Martin Rowson also apologised. Critics have taken this to be a reference to Shylock, the Jewish moneylender in Shakespeare’s play The Merchant of Venice who demands a ‘pound of flesh’ from someone who cannot pay him back. Mr Bell also claimed The Guardian had suggested the same and he retweeted a supporter who defended him against the claim. The tweet said: ‘The alleged Shakespearan analogy in the message hardly fits the political message of the cartoon, except possibly to someone who is ignorant of both’.

It happened when Israeli forces engaged in fierce gun battles with Palestinian fighters in Kibbutz Be’eri and fired indiscriminately at both the fighters and their Israeli prisoners. “They eliminated everyone, including the hostages,” she told Israeli radio. “There was very, very heavy crossfire” and even tank shelling. The woman, 44-year-old mother of three Yasmin Porat, said that prior to that, she and other civilians had been held by the Palestinians for several hours and treated “humanely.” She had fled the nearby “Nova” rave. A recording of her interview, from the radio program Haboker Hazeh (“This Morning”) hosted by Aryeh Golan on state broadcaster Kan, has been circulating on social media. The interview has been translated by The Electronic Intifada. You can listen to it with English subtitles in this video and a transcript is at the end of this article: Notably, the interview is not included in the online version of Haboker Hazeh for 15 October, the episode in which it apparently aired. It may well have been censored due to its explosive nature. Porat, who is from Kabri, a settlement near the Lebanese border, undoubtedly experienced terrible things and saw many noncombatants killed. Her own partner, Tal Katz, is among the dead. However, her account undermines Israel’s official story of deliberate, wanton murder by the Palestinian fighters. Although it no longer appears on the Kan website, there can be little doubt about the recording’s authenticity. At least one Hebrew-language account posted part of the interview on Twitter, now officially called X, and accused Kan of functioning as “media in the service of Hamas.”

A ‘no’ vote from any one of the five permanent members of the Council stops action on any measure put before it. The body’s permanent members are China, France, Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Russian amendments Prior to the vote, two amendments proposed by Russia, calling for an immediate, durable and full ceasefire, and to stop attacks against civilians were rejected by the Security Council. Russian Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia told Council Ambassadors “the time for diplomatic metaphors is long gone.” Anyone who did not support Russia’s draft resolution on this issue bears responsibility for what happens, he said. The current draft “has no clear call for a ceasefire” and “will not help to stop the bloodshed”. He said Russia’s amendments proposed a call to end indiscriminate attacks on civilians and infrastructure in Gaza and the condemnation of the imposition of the blockade on the enclave; and adding a new point for a call for a humanitarian ceasefire. “If these are not included in the current draft, it would not help to address the human situation in Gaza and polarize positions of the international community,” he said. US rejection US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield explained her country’s veto in the Council chamber saying “this resolution did not mention Israel’s right of self-defence.” “Israel has the inherent sight of self-defence as reflected in Article 51 of the UN Charter,” she added, noting that the right was reaffirmed by the Council in previous resolutions on terrorist attacks, “this resolution should have done the same.” She said that though the US could not support the resolution, it will continue to work closely with all Council members on the crisis, “just as we will continue to reiterate the need to protect civilians, including members of the media, humanitarian workers, and UN officials.” Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield also noted the US is also engaged in on the ground diplomacy, with the visit of President Joseph Biden, and other senior officials. “Yes, resolutions are important, and yes, this Council must speak out. But the actions we take, must be informed by the facts on the ground and support direct diplomacy that can save lives,” she said. Brazil ‘heeded the call’ for action Ambassador Sérgio França Danese of Brazil said his country, as President of the Security Council for October, responded to a call by Council members to forge a united response to the crisis. “We heeded the call with a sense of urgency and responsibility, in our view the Security Council had to take action and do so very quickly,” he said. “Council paralysis in the face of a humanitarian catastrophe is not in the interest of the international community,” he added, noting efforts to build a unified position. Ambassador Danese reiterated that the focus was and remains on the critical humanitarian situation on the ground, guided by political realism, “but our sight was always set on the humanitarian imperative.” He regretted that collective action had stalled, stating “Very sadly, the Council was yet again unable to adopt a resolution on the crisis, again silence and inaction prevailed”. UK abstention UK Ambassador Barbara Woodward said that her country abstained from the resolution as the text needed to be clearer on Israel’s inherent right to self-defence, and because it ignored the fact that extremist group Hamas, which controls Gaza, is using Palestinian civilians as human shields.

It was then bombed on Tuesday. Clearly the Israelis were becoming impatient with the hospital still functioning and decided to take it out. Three days before the fatal missile strike the hospital had already been hit. The only party who could have launched the missile on the hospital was Israel and of course they know that. Once again Palestinian civilians were sheltering in the church assuming that although Israel bombs mosques without qualms it would draw the line at Christian churches. Csoma de Körös (1784 – 1842), a Hungarian orientalist from Transylvania, was the first to report of the legend of Shambhala in the West, which he located in “the land of the Yugurs (Uighurs)” in Xinjiang, a province of Northwestern China. In an 1825 letter, Csoma de Körös wrote that Shambhala is like a Buddhist Jerusalem, and he believed it would probably be found in Kazakhstan, close to the Gobi desert, where it would later be situated by Blavatsky.[3] Others later would also locate it more specifically either in Xinjiang, or the Altai Mountains. Thus the Altai Mountains are the reputed source of the early form of spirit or “divine” communication known as shamanism, regarded among occultists as the “Oriental Kabbalah,” a supposed remnant of the migrations of Aryan survivors of Atlantis.

Bristol – more than 60 people evicted and land lady says unfair  – Rogue landlord mass eviction is ‘massive own goal’ by council claims city councillor The city council could take on Naomi Knapp’s properties so no one faces homelessness, and it’s ‘absolutely outrageous’ it hasn’t, said one opposition councillor Council housing chiefs should take over the management of more than 20 homes rented out by a woman they have banned as a ‘rogue landlord’, and it is ‘absolutely outrageous’ that the council has not put a plan in place to help dozens of people facing eviction. That’s the view of one city councillor, who said the council could step in and take on the management of properties let out by Naomi Knapp, so no one is forced to leave and become homeless. Cllr Barry Parsons (Green, Easton ) described Bristol City Council ’s handling of the country’s first Rogue Landlord Banning Order, to be confirmed under new legislation, as ‘a massive own goal’, because it means people who don’t want to leave are evicted from safe and acceptable homes. Bristol City Council has responded that such an order is not legally possible in this case. City council chiefs confirmed earlier this week they are not responsible for the evictions. Emails from housing officers to Mrs Knapp, and to a letting agent managing her properties, show she and the agents were told in no uncertain terms that all tenancies must end on December 1, and Mrs Knapp faces the possibility of prison unless that happens. Bristol Live reported yesterday how scores of people have been served with Section 21 eviction notices, forcing them out of private rented accommodation owned and let by Naomi Knapp. She has been banned from being a landlord for five years, after Bristol City Council took her to the Property Tribunal, citing the conditions in a handful of her properties, and poor repairs. After her appeal to the Upper Chamber of the tribunal was thrown out in a legal first, the date set for the banning order to come into force was December 1, and Mrs Knapp has been told she can no longer have tenants in any of her properties from that date.

Gas pipe line damaged in Baltic -just an anchor?   Finland police investigate undersea gas pipeline leak as possible sabotage HELSINKI (AP) — Finnish police said Wednesday they have launched a criminal investigation into possible sabotage of an undersea gas pipeline between Finland and Estonia that was shut down over the weekend following a leak. Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation, or NBI, says it has started gathering evidence at the location of the leak, which was detected in Finland’s economic zone Sunday on the Balticconector pipeline connecting the two NATO allies. A telecommunications cable also was damaged. The purpose of the probe is to establish whether the Balticconector pipeline was damaged intentionally or by accident and by whom. Finnish authorities have already ruled out an operational mishap, saying the damage resulted from “external activity.” Noting that the analysis was still in an early stage, NBI said “traces have been detected in the seabed” near the leak but didn’t give details. Outside analysts have speculated on everything from a ship’s anchor hitting the pipeline to an explosion as possible causes. Investigators told reporters on Wednesday that an explosion appeared unlikely. “The damage appears to have been caused by mechanical force, not an explosion,” NBI chief inspector Risto Lohi was quoted as saying by Finnish public broadcaster YLE. “At the moment we are determining what happened and (who) may have been involved. Considering the situation, we will not speculate, but work to find facts, analyze them and then draw conclusions about what caused the damage.” The 77-kilometer-long (48-mile-long) Balticconnector pipeline runs across the Gulf of Finland from the Finnish city of Inkoo to the Estonian port of Paldiski. It is bi-directional, transferring natural gas between Finland and Estonia depending on demand and supply. The 300 million euro ($318 million) pipeline, largely financed by the European Union, started commercial operations at the beginning of 2020. It was shut down on Sunday after operators noticed a drop in pressure in the pipeline.

Born a minor German prince in 1911, Bernhard von Lippe-Biesterfeld married Crown Princess Juliana after meeting her at the Olympic Games in Bavaria before the second world war. He was known to wear a white carnation in his buttonhole – a fashion that would reportedly become a symbol of resistance to Nazi Germany after Bernhard helped organise the Dutch resistance from London, where the government and his mother-in-law, Queen Wilhelmina, were living in exile. This week, as the claims that had long dogged the prince were confirmed, the country’s main Jewish group and opposition politicians called for an inquiry into the prince’s past. “That Bernhard was a member is not so much what caused the shock: most Dutch people had expected that by now,” the Center for Information and Documentation Israel said in a statement. “But that he continued to deny it until his death weighs much more heavily for people.”

Supported by historical documents sourced from international archives, our book simply reflects the facts. Significantly, therefore, and as we shall examine next, the EUvsDisinfo site blatantly misquotes what we actually say in the book.

Broadmead preacher with ‘abortion is murder’ signs says he’s being denied free speech He claims police watched on as he was spat at A fundamentalist Christian who preaches in central Bristol claims police have stood and watched as he was spat at and told to “go back home”. Pastor Dia Moodley – who stands in Broadmead every Saturday with signs saying “abortion is murder”, “evolution is a lie”, “all lives matter” and “God created them male and female” – says he is being denied free speech and he has lost confidence in the police. Avon and Somerset Police said it has to balance the pastor’s right to free speech and public protection when crowds become distressed or hostile towards him. Chief constable Andy Marsh said he would be “frankly astonished” if his officers had witnessed a hate crime and not acted. Speaking on BBC Radio Bristol last week, Mr Moodley, who belongs to the Spirit of Life church, said: “We have people who have spat on us, destroyed our property in front of police officers, told us to go back to our own countries, and police officers have done nothing about that. “Women in our church have cried in front of them, said please help us, the officers’ response is ‘if you don’t like it, go home’. How are you treating all communities equally? We’re a Christian community and we feel we have no confidence in the police force.” Speaking later, Mr Moodley said the police should not be allowed to take the knee in solidarity with Black Lives Matter protesters or wear the colours of the Pride flag while they are on duty because they should represent everyone in society. He said: “I regularly get told the public don’t like what we’re preaching. This is our city too. We feel we aren’t represented. We call it Christophobia. “We see ourselves as part of Bristol but Bristol tells us our views aren’t welcome. They say they don’t want neighbours like us. “I’d like to see the police uphold the law and make sure every person has the right to free speech. There’s no free speech for us.” Responding to Mr Moodley’s concerns on BBC Radio Bristol, chief constable Andy Marsh said: “I’m sorry to hear of your negative experiences. I would frankly be astonished if officers stood by and witnessed hate speech and hate crime against you in Broadmead. “All of my officers use body-worn video. I’d encourage you to make a complaint if that’s what you think has happened and we’ll look into it.” He advised Mr Moodley to provide evidence to support his claims. A spokeswoman for Avon and Somerset Police said the force has to balance the pastor’s right to free speech with the general public’s right to work and shop in the city without being caused undue distress. She said: “We have had a number of complaints from members of the public when Mr Moodley preaches on sensitive subjects such as abortion and LGBT+ rights. “Patrolling officers have been flagged down by visibly distressed members of the public and have approached Mr Moodley to ask him to moderate his language or put away graphic imagery. “On occasion, Mr Moodley’s preaching attracts a crowd which can become hostile towards him, and officers will ask him to pause or stop his preaching so that the crowd can calm down or disperse. This is for his own safety. “The neighbourhood team has consistently encouraged Mr Moodley to report any incidents of abuse, violence or criminal damage, which are clearly unacceptable. “Avon and Somerset Police aim to protect and respect everyone. If Mr Moodley believes he has been unfairly treated he can make a formal complaint.” Mr Moodley admitted displaying graphic signs, including one of an aborted foetus, but said it was not against the law. He reiterated that he did not have confidence in the police so it was a “waste of time” reporting incidents. The police spokeswoman said Mr Moodley has reported five incidents to police which have happened while he has been preaching or protesting since 2018. She added: “On two occasions (February 2020 and May 2019) after reporting being punched and having a sign damaged in Broadmead, he did not wish to proceed further. “Following an investigation a man was issued a conditional caution for hitting Mr Moodley and damaging his phone while he demonstrated against abortion in Fox Den Road, Stoke Gifford in October 2019. “Following an investigation officers were unable to identify a suspect after Mr Moodley approached officers and reported being pushed half an hour previously in Broadmead in December 2018 while preaching on LGBT+ issues.”

There is no understanding Gaza out of context — Hamas rockets or unjustifiable terrorist attacks on civilians — and that context is the longest ongoing ethnic cleansing operation in the recent and present centuries, the ongoing attempt to destroy Palestinian nationhood. The Palestinians use tunnels? So did my heroes, the poorly armed fighters of the Warsaw Ghetto. Unlike Israel, Palestinians lack Apache helicopters, guided drones, jet fighters with bombs, laser-guided artillery. Out of impotent defiance, they fire inept rockets, causing terror for innocent Israelis but rarely physical harm. With such a gross imbalance of power, there is no equivalence of culpability. Israel wants peace? Perhaps, but as the veteran Israeli journalist Gideon Levy has pointed out, it does not want a just peace. Occupation and creeping annexation, an inhumane blockade, the destruction of olive groves, the arbitrary imprisonment of thousands, torture, daily humiliation of civilians, house demolitions: these are not policies compatible with any desire for a just peace. Today the EU urged the bosses of Twitter, Facebook and other platforms to curb the spread of fake news, warning that a failure to do so would break European law and risk fines or being banned altogether.

Israel backed ISIS in Syria but now calls to arms against Hamas as ISIS. Inside Israel’s Secret Program to Back Syrian ISIS Rebels Fighters were armed and paid to keep Iranian-linked forces away from Israel’s border. Israel secretly armed and funded at least 12 rebel groups in southern Syria that helped prevent Iran-backed fighters and militants of the Islamic State from taking up positions near the Israeli border in recent years, according to more than two dozen commanders and rank-and-file members of these groups. The military transfers, which ended in July of this year, included assault rifles, machine guns, mortar launchers and transport vehicles. Israeli security agencies delivered the weapons through three gates connecting the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights to Syria—the same crossings Israel used to deliver humanitarian aid to residents of southern Syria suffering from years of civil war. Israel also provided salaries to rebel fighters, paying each one about $75 a month, and supplied additional money the groups used to buy arms on the Syrian black market, according to the rebels and local journalists. The payments, along with the service Israel was getting in return, created an expectation among the rebels that Israel would intercede if troops loyal to President Bashar al-Assad tried to advance on southern Syria. When regime forces backed by Russian air power did precisely that this past summer, Israel did not intervene, leaving the rebel groups feeling betrayed.

Israel-Palestine war: Britain’s epidemic of unchallenged anti-Palestinian racism The UK risks importing the bloodshed from Gaza if its supposedly mainstream thinkers continue to recklessly deploy venomous and inflammatory anti-Muslim bigotry British Home Secretary Suella Braverman weighed into the Gaza conflict on Sunday by issuing a public warning that there “must be zero tolerance for antisemitism or the glorification of terrorism on the streets of Britain”. She was right to do so. Even the most fervent supporters of the Palestinian cause must recognise that it is one of the duties of a British home secretary to prevent violence and hatred erupting on British streets – and never more so than when war breaks out in the Middle East, with the passions it engenders on all sides. More than ever, at times like this there is a need for decency, level-headed thinking and civility. Unfortunately, the home secretary’s intervention has so far been one-sided. Over the last 48 hours, Britain has experienced an epidemic of almost unchallenged anti-Palestinian racism and anti-Muslim bigotry – and Braverman has been inexcusably silent. What is more, this bigotry has been perpetrated by people in a position of responsibility. Take the editor of the British newspaper Jewish News, Richard Ferrer. He wrote in the Daily Express on Sunday that Hamas’s military attack on Israel was “plain and simply historic Islamic bloodlust, passed down through the generations from birth”. This rhetoric is venomous, and arguably a form of blood libel. After a backlash, the word “Islamic” was changed to “Islamist”. The editor of the Jewish Chronicle, Jake Wallis Simons, said on the same day that “much of Muslim culture is in the grip of a death cult that sacralised bloodshed. Not all, but many Muslims are brainwashed by it”. After a backlash, he deleted the tweet. Note he left it up for over a day.

Hall No way can we interpret at face value the violent events inside and outside the breached “GAZA envelope.” For starters, why should we believe anything that comes out of the mouth of the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, one of the most flagrant liars of our times. I find much more credible the cautious and measured commentary of Efrat Fenigson, a veteran of the Intelligence Division of the Israeli Defence Force (IDF). To understand Ms. Fenigson’s account, it is important to grasp that the 2 million Palestinian inmates of Gaza are essentially locked up in an open air jail that is periodically bombed by the Israeli Air Force. The protagonists that engage in these air attacks sometimes flippantly refer to their death missions as “mowing the grass.” Ms. Fenigson finds it inexplicable that the Gaza inmates under the direction of a political organization known as Hamas, were able to approach “unimpeded” the Gaza fence. The Palestinian inmates then broke through the fence at several locations. Once the fence was repeatedly severed, there was “zero response” from the authorities. Another anomaly was that some border points were left open which basically never happens in Israel. The commentator concludes that “this surprise attack seems like a planned operation on all fronts.” There was “a failure to protect the people of Israel for sure, perhaps the biggest failure since the Yom Kippur War of 1973. The people of Israel and the people of Palestine have been sold to the higher power once again… There’s no way in my view that [the government of] Israel did not know what’s coming. Something is very wrong here. Something is very strange.” The mainstream stream media (MSM) burst into gruesome commentaries chronicling litanies of reported rapes, pillage, hostage-taking, bombings, shootings and such committed mostly by young Palestinian men, some of them travelling for the first time freely cross-country in the land of their ancestors. They seized all manner of motor vehicles, sometimes stopping to express their pent up anger towards the Israeli population. The Jewish state of Israel employs the jailers who have kept the incarcerated population of Gaza in a foul and overcrowded environment ever since they were born. Following their prison break some of the liberated inmates certainly committed crimes. They also have endured the imposition on their persons of lifelong unpunished crimes inflicted on them for no other reason than being born to their Palestinian parents. Ms. Fenigson points to fights between the IDF and those engaged in the Gaza prison break. She notes to the contentions between the antagonists at many “outposts,” that is to say, on the most contested lands in the West Bank. Land and water stealing continues to take place and some of the Gaza escapees went to check out the status of the kleptocracy on the ancestral plots of their families. A Third Intifada and the Last War. Palestine and the Global South Ms. Fenigson also points to the military nature of the censorship over news media in Israel, where officers of the IDF are exercising control over what can be seen and heard, both inside and outside Israel. The former IDF intelligence official obviously speaks from a place of deep understanding and the legitimate authority vested in genuine truth seekers. The bombastic Benjamin Netanyahu was quick to announce that the Israeli government would unleash an unrestrained war of retaliation. He promised to “win,” whatever that means in this lose/lose scenario. Was this war being forced on Netanyahu or was he involved in a plan to give his government an opening into a strategy of extended extremism? Such extremes might involve a realization of the Israeli Prime Minister’s longterm goal of orchestrating a US war aimed at destroying Iran? Are we presently seeing a major global realignment of military strategies that will cause a new sequence of major conflicts in Western Asia— in the “Middle East”— as well as a downgrading of emphasis on the Ukraine/NATO/Russia conflict? All kinds of new geopolitical scenarios are being imagined and played out both in the region and globally. Concurrently many new factors are entering the weird dynamics of the sick and decrepit system of presidential politics that continues to be governed in large measure by the New York-Tel Aviv axis. One of the terrible possibilities I see coming into focus, is that we are witnessing the pieces being put into place for a Middle East version of the “Final Solution.” Will this “Final Solution” be directed at eliminating Arab inhabitants from Israel and the accompanying lands under Israel’s direct control?

We know that this has been planned, perhaps as long as a year ago.” The exact details disclosed to the Israeli government are not clear, but McCaul said a “warning was given”, the UK’s Daily Telegraph reported.Meanwhile Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to keep fighting Hamas, saying that every member of the Palestinian militant group is “a dead man”.

After seven months of weekly mass protests on Israeli streets and fierce debate, the Israeli government on Monday voted to limit the court’s ability to overturn laws. The changes have been denounced by critics as a transparent power grab that will erode democratic norms and aid Netanyahu’s fight against graft charges, which he denies. Others have warned that the legislation is a step toward the desire of the ultra-nationalists in Netanyahu’s government to annex some or all of the occupied territories. The American Jewish Committee, one of the oldest pro-Israel groups in the US, expressed “profound disappointment” at the vote and said it is “gravely concerned” that it will deepen divisions in Israeli society amid huge demonstrations against the law, including in the military with thousands of military reservists threatening to refuse to report for duty. “The continued effort to press forward on judicial reform rather than seeking compromise has sown discord within the Israeli Defense Forces at a time of elevated threats to the Jewish homeland and has strained the vital relationship between Israel and diaspora Jewry,” it said.

These seemingly discrete false-flag attacks fit together to reveal a coherent pattern of deliberate, Isramerican subversion that is now being played out in Ukraine. Debunking the cover story The Charlie Hebdo shooting had nothing to do with anti-Westernism or press freedom. It was executed with such clumsiness that no sentient being could possibly buy the cover story that our organs of orthodoxy shamelessly regurgitated. First of all, the identification of the two black balaclava-wearing shooters is not credible—an identity card of one of them fortuitously found in a car. If the shooters took pains to conceal their identity so completely, such carelessness is implausible. More likely, the card was planted to implicate the shooters, brothers Saïd and Chérif Kouachi, just like the pristine passport identifying one of the “hijackers” that just happened to found among the rubble of the World Trade Centre. To date, no positive ID of the Charlie Hebdo shooters has been made.

Putin declined to rule out the possibility Russia could carry out weapons tests involving actual nuclear explosions for the first time in more than three decades. The Russian leader, who since last year’s invasion of Ukraine has repeatedly reminded the world of his country’s nuclear powers, said no one in their right mind would use nuclear weapons against his nation. If such an attack occurred, he said, ‘such a number of our missiles – hundreds, hundreds – would appear in the air that not a single enemy would have a chance of survival’. The Burevestnik is viewed as a game-changing ‘doomsday’ weapon with a range of up to 14,000 miles, meaning it could strike the US mainland from anywhere in Russia. It is seen by the Kremlin as a low-flying ‘stealth’ cruise missile incapable of interception by existing Western air defences and delivering nuclear warheads anywhere around the globe. Some experts have claimed it could be capable of flying for weeks on end. Putin has called it ‘a radically new type of weaponry’ with ‘unlimited range and unlimited ability to manoeuvre’.

Poll: Majority of Israelis Blame Government for Hamas Attack The poll shows 56% of respondents want Netanyahu to resign A new poll found that the vast majority of Israelis say the Hamas attack on southern Israel was caused by a failure in the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and a smaller majority want Netanyahu to resign once the conflict is over. In the poll released by the Dialog Center, 86% of the people asked, including 79% of supporters of Netanyahu’s governing coalition, said the surprise attack from Gaza was a failure of the country’s leadership. The poll also found that 56% of respondents want Netanyahu to resign at the end of the conflict, and 52% also want to see the resignation of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The Hamas attack on October 7 has raised questions about how the Israeli government could not be aware that such a large operation was about to be launched from Gaza, which has been under Israeli blockade since 2007 and is under heavy surveillance. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) on Wednesday confirmed reports that said Egypt warned Israel before the attack that something big was coming. Netanyahu has also come under criticism for his strategy of propping up Hamas to divide Gaza from Palestinian leadership in the West Bank. “Those who want to thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state should support the strengthening of Hamas and the transfer of money to Hamas,” Netanyahu said at a Likud party meeting in 2019. “This is part of our strategy, to differentiate between the Palestinians in Gaza and the Palestinians in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank).”

And ultimately, interest in psychedelics derives from occult interest in the ancient shamans of the Altai Mountains, which is believed to be the original religion of the Aryans. H.P. Blavatsky(1831 – 1891), who is considered the “godmother” of the New Age movement, despite the fact that she inspired the racial ideas of the Nazis, was inspired in her knowledge of Shambhala, a Tibetan Buddhist legend mentioned in the Kalachakra Tantra. Csoma de Körös (1784 – 1842), a Hungarian orientalist from Transylvania, was the first to report of the legend of Shambhala in the West, which he located in “the land of the Yugurs (Uighurs)” in Xinjiang, a province of Northwestern China. In an 1825 letter, Csoma de Körös wrote that Shambhala is like a Buddhist Jerusalem, and he believed it would probably be found in Kazakhstan, close to the Gobi desert, where it would later be situated by Blavatsky.[3] Others later would also locate it more specifically either in Xinjiang, or the Altai Mountains. Thus the Altai Mountains are the reputed source of the early form of spirit or “divine” communication known as shamanism, regarded among occultists as the “Oriental Kabbalah,” a supposed remnant of the migrations of Aryan survivors of Atlantis.

Chris Mason article – by election –  Sir Keir Starmer hails ‘big step’ towards Number 10 after Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election win If the swing to Labour was replicated at a General Election it could mean Labour gaining 40 seats in Scotland Sir Keir Starmer on Friday opened a path to No10 through Scotland with a “seismic” by-election win in Rutherglen and Hamilton West. Labour crushed the Scottish National Party, with a swing of more than 20 per cent. The party’s candidate Michael Shanks secured 58 per cent of the votes, more than twice that of his SNP rival Katy Loudon. Significantly the Tories’ vote collapsed, winning only 3.9 per cent and embarrasingly losing their deposit. If the swing to Labour was replicated at a General Election it could mean Labour gaining 40 seats in ScoRutherglen was the first recall by-election in Scotland so the result needs to be treated with considerable caution. It was held after Margaret Ferrier, who had won the seat in 2019 with a majority of 5,230, had the SNP whip removed after breaching Covid rules in 2020. It also comes amid a police investigation into the SNP. But it still opens up the prospect of Labour winning dozens of seats in Scotland, which makes it far more likely that Sir Keir could win the next General Election, expected next autumn, with an overall Commons majority.

NUCLEAR SAFETY !: Report on nuclear armed B-52 which crashed near Spanish coast in 1966 – nuclear bomb contamination – old man left with worthless farm. When four nuclear bombs fell onto Spanish village of Palomares – – During the Cold War, the US military conducted manoeuvres in Spain’s Andalusia region. On January 17, 1966, a bomber and a supply plane collided in mid-air. From the belly of the bomber, four thermonuclear bombs fell to the ground. There was no nuclear explosion, as luckily they were unarmed. But they scattered highly radioactive plutonium over 250 hectares around the sleepy farming village of Palomares. The US tried to downplay the incident and quickly cleaned up the site, but left 50,000 cubic metres of plutonium-contaminated soil. More than half a century later, the accident is still a source of tension between Madrid and Washington. FRANCE 24’s Céline Schmitt and Armelle Exposito report.

Devonport nuclear base warned over safety Devonport contractor Babcock International refits Britain’s nuclear submarine fleet Devonport naval base has been warned of legal action after a worker received a dose of radiation amid a series of safety breaches. Radioactive cooling water was also mistakenly discharged into a submarine reactor compartment, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) reported. Reporting of safety incidents at the base, which refits Britain’s nuclear submarines, was “below standard”. Devonport naval base has been warned of legal action after a series of safety breaches The ONR said five other incidents broke safety rules between October and December last year. They were: Radioactive coolant was mistakenly discharged into a submarine reactor compartment Torpedo tubes on a docked submarine were found to be “configured in contravention of safety instructions aimed at keeping the boat watertight” A nuclear evacuation alarm was tested “at the wrong time” A forklift truck carrying oil gained “unauthorised access” to a dock Safety maintenance of a dockside crane was delayed beyond the “maximum tolerance date” The ONR also reported “shortfalls in the operation of the emergency monitoring vehicles” during a nuclear submarine accident exercise. Nuclear engineering consultant John Large, who has advised the government and environmental groups on nuclear issues, said: “These are not uncommon incidents in a complex operation like Devonport. “But the level of detail is not good enough. For instance what is the connection with the torpedo tubes and a radiological incident on the submarine?”

For many years he worked at the heart of Britain’s nuclear industry, now he is hired by governments around the world to give an expert independent view on all issues radioactive. This 2 hr. talk was recorded July 2002 in the run-up to the review of safety measures round the Royal Navy’s Plymouth dockyard. Devonport is worthy of attention, its a major nuclear base in the middle of a city. Large explains, in the public interest, the real dangers of Devonport which have been hushed up by DML and the Royal Navy. John Large goes into several accident scenarios: BR1; BR2; BR3, put forward by the UK Ministry of Defence and examines how realistic they are. He comes to the conclusion that these scenarios tell only half the story of real accident situations and seem to be designed to fit the confines of the Devonport dockyard boundary. Could it be that the owners and managers of Devonport, DML, don’t want to have to pay for proper safety measures for the people of Plymouth? The idea of having nuclear submarines based in a city with 200,000 people is questioned. One of the reasons these submarines are still based in Plymouth is because the Scottish parliament will not accept any expansion of facilities in Scotland, even though these bases, Faslane, Coalport, Rossyth are all further away from centres of population. Large then explains another accident scenario which has not been revealed to civilian emergency planners: BR6. In BR6 the Ministry of Defence envisage a major accident with meltdown of the nuclear reactor core within minutes. This would allow a massive release of radiation. This talk was only necessary because Devonport Management Ltd, who own and run the nuclear dockyard, have been using the excuse of ‘military secrecy’ to hide the real dangers of their operations from elected officials, civilian safety agencies and the public at large. They hoped, for financial reasons that no-one would penetrate the wall of secrecy when preparing the new DEVPUBSAFE emergency plan for the city. Someone even managed to persuade Plymouth City Council’s Chief Executive Alison Stone to write to all Councillors in the City asking they stay away from this ‘unofficial’ lecture, even though she is supposed to be overseeing safety for the public. All this… and the authorities have refused to take into account the threat of terrorist attack since the September 11th WTC attacks. Despite the fact that Devonport is likely to be one of the main terrorist targets in the world. This talk was organised by Plymouth UNISON and the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and ends with a question and answer session with campaigners and members of the public cross-examining Mr. Large. Robert Gardner, Nationwide’s chief economist, said higher mortgage rates were making owning a home more expensive, and this was driving down the number of mortgages taken out. ‘Housing market activity remains weak, with just 45,400 mortgages approved for house purchase in August, [around] 30 per cent below the monthly average prevailing in 2019 before the pandemic struck,’ he said. ‘For example, someone earning an average income and purchasing the typical first-time buyer home with a 20 per cent deposit would spend 38 per cent of their take home pay on their monthly mortgage payment – well above the long-run average of 29 per cent.’

The Rightmove Rental Tracker shows that the average advertised rent for properties is at £1,278 per calendar month (pcm) outside of London, and is up to £2,627 pcm in London, marking a 12.1% increase compared to last year. This means the average annual rent in London is £31,524 a year. The average full-time salary in London is just shy of £37,000, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), which means a single renter has just £5,476 a year left for other bills, food and expenditure. Meanwhile, the national average salary or median wage, is £32,000 a year, which after the latest rent prices would leave tenants with £16,664 for other expenditure. Rightmove said that one of the factors driving rising rents was not enough available rental properties to meet the demand from prospective tenants looking to move. It said that the average rental property across the UK is currently getting 25 enquiries from prospective tenants, which is more than three times the number were receiving pre-pandemic in 2019. Ria Laitmer, lettings manager at Clarkes in Dorset, said: “The gap between high demand and a severe shortage of rental stock at the moment is just crazy. We’re receiving mounting enquiries for each property to rent from would-be tenants, with queues of tenants arriving to open-house viewings and the majority being left disappointed as there is just not enough properties on the market to meet the demand.”

Psychedelics and Fascism: From MK-Ultra, to Esalen and Silicon Valley – It’s commonly assumed that the “mind-expanding” capabilities of psychedelics usually lead to progressive or liberal views. So, their proponents are surprised by their persistent association with the right. In “Right-Wing Psychedelia: Case Studies in Cultural Plasticity and Political Pluripotency,” Brian A. Pace and Nese Devenot observe that, “Recent media advocacy for the nascent psychedelic medicine industry has emphasized the potential for psychedelics to improve society, pointing to research studies that have linked psychedelics to increased environmental concern and liberal politics.”[1] However, in “Why is the American right suddenly so interested in psychedelic drugs?” for The Guardian, Ross Ellenhorn and Dimitri Mugianis report that “psychedelic therapies are receiving unprecedented financial and political support – and much of it comes from the right.”[2]  The history of psychedelics begins with Aldous Huxley (1894 – 1963), a fascist who inspired the CIA’s MK-Ultra program. And ultimately, interest in psychedelics derives from occult interest in the ancient shamans of the Altai Mountains, which is believed to be the original religion of the Aryans. H.P. Blavatsky(1831 – 1891), who is considered the “godmother” of the New Age movement, despite the fact that she inspired the racial ideas of the Nazis, was inspired in her knowledge of Shambhala, a Tibetan Buddhist legend mentioned in the Kalachakra Tantra. Csoma de Körös (1784 – 1842), a Hungarian orientalist from Transylvania, was the first to report of the legend of Shambhala in the West, which he located in “the land of the Yugurs (Uighurs)” in Xinjiang, a province of Northwestern China. In an 1825 letter, Csoma de Körös wrote that Shambhala is like a Buddhist Jerusalem, and he believed it would probably be found in Kazakhstan, close to the Gobi desert, where it would later be situated by Blavatsky.[3] Others later would also locate it more specifically either in Xinjiang, or the Altai Mountains. Thus the Altai Mountains are the reputed source of the early form of spirit or “divine” communication known as shamanism, regarded among occultists as the “Oriental Kabbalah,” a supposed remnant of the migrations of Aryan survivors of Atlantis.

THE HUMAN BLOOD DRINKING BILLIONAIRES: The ultra-wealthy are paying thousands for “young blood” transfusions meant to slow down the aging process.- A controversial startup called Ambrosia charges thousands to fill your veins with the blood of young people, which is meant to slow aging by rejuvenating the body’s organs, as Business Insider’s Erin Brodwin previously reported. Another company, The Young Blood Institute, was charging $285,000 for trials of young blood transfusion, STAT reported in 2018. Alkahest also studies the link between aging and young blood, but instead of opening up centers for young blood transfusions, the company aims to develop drugs for age-related diseases, inspired by their work with plasma. Billionaire venture capitalist Peter Thiel has expressed interest in the procedure, as well as other medical research on extending the human lifespan. “There are all these people who say that death is natural, it’s just part of life, and I think that nothing can be further from the truth,” Thiel said back in 2012. Researchers who study blood transfusions have called such procedures potentially dangerous. “It is well known in the medical community — and this is also the reason we don’t do transfusions frequently — that in 50% of patients there are very bad side effects,” Irina Conboy, a University of California at Berkeley researcher who has published research on young blood transfusions in mice, told Business Insider’s Erin Brodwin. “You are being infused with somebody else’s blood and it doesn’t match. That unleashes a strong immune reaction.” Ambrosia founder Dr. Jesse Karmazin disputed Dr. Conboy assessment of the risk of blood transfusions, telling Business Insider that Ambrosia’s clinical trials produced “significant efficacy and safety data.”
