First hour News Review: Tim Kent, Lib Dem Councillor for Hengrove and Whitchurch Park.  Bristol Council and Covid 19  -online meetings and elections delayed.  Problems with Mayoral system.  Cars out of Bristol City Centre – public transport in city.  Tim Bowles, Tory Metro Mayor – what does he do?

Bristol Energy scrapped – after costing Council £50m. Loss-making Bristol Energy’s boss earned £322k last year – The ex-boss of a council-owned energy firm that made a £32m loss was paid £322,960, city council accounts show. Managing director, Marek Majewicz, was paid a £228,081 salary last year and a £94,879 payout when he left. Bristol Mayor Marvin Rees earns £79,468 a year. Liberal Democrat Tim Kent said: “He was being paid over £200,000 a year to lose council taxpayer’s money at a rate of over £1m a month.” Mr Majewicz has not commented. Bristol City Council has declined to comment. Speaking on BBC Radio Bristol, Mr Kent added: “I will say one thing, he was consistent. Every month that that company has operated they’ve lost £1m of Bristol taxpayers’ money.” In the previous eight months, between August 2018 when Mr Majewicz first became a director of the company and March 2019, he took home a salary of £187,500, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.

Special educational needs funding  – parents have to battle with the Council and take them to court. Parents’ fury as 190 children can’t return to special school in Bristol next week. The council have announced a £28.7m plan but it will take a year or more.A total of 190 children with special needs across Bristol will not be returning to a specialist school next month – because the council has failed to provide enough SEND places for them. There are 13 children who have no place at all, while the other 177 will study in mainstream schools with specialist education, health and care plans (ECHP) drawn up to help them there. The children, who number the equivalent of a secondary school’s entire year intake, have special educational needs, but the shortfall in places means they will either be staying in mainstream schools, at home or remain in pre-schools. Furious parents have slammed the council, and described a council pledge that children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) would ‘be a priority’ as ‘a load of rubbish’. Bristol City Council has announced a £28.7 million plan to create more places for SEND children, which will include major redevelopments at two schools, as well as create additional special school places at a number of mainstream schools across the city….

How good is local media? Interview with Steve Brodie, former BBC West Home Affairs correspondent, on cuts to BBC in the West and the work of the BS8 Whiteladies Road NUJ chapel. 46 Senior BBC Nations and Regions managers, none of whom contribute to the corporation’s output, earn over £100k and its estimated their combined salaries would pay for around 400 full-time journalists and production staff. – What the BBC cuts to Points West and Radio Bristol will mean. Things will look and sound different. Points West presenter Alex Lovell said job cuts at the BBC in Bristol which will see only one presenter front the show for the first time ever were a ‘hard pill to swallow’. She or co-host David Garmston face redundancy or a job share as part of a raft of cuts at the corporation’s Whiteladies Road headquarters. As well as cutting the number of presenters for the BBC’s flagship evening news programme from two to one, there will also be one fewer presenting slots on the daytime BBC Radio Bristol too…

Words from ‘Land of Hope and Glory’ which BBC decide are not to be sung at 2020 Proms. Here are the full lyrics for Rule Britannia

When Britain first, at heaven’s command,
Arose from out the azure main,
This was the charter of the land,
And Guardian Angels sang this strain:

Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves!
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

The nations not so blest as thee
Must, in their turn, to tyrants fall,
While thou shalt flourish great and free:
The dread and envy of them all.

Still more majestic shalt thou rise,
More dreadful from each foreign stroke,
As the loud blast that tears the skies
Serves but to root thy native oak.

Thee haughty tyrants ne’er shall tame;
All their attempts to bend thee down
Will but arouse thy generous flame,
But work their woe and thy renown.

Thy cities shall with commerce shine;
All thine shall be the subject main,
And every shore it circles, thine.

The Muses, still with freedom found,
Shall to thy happy coasts repair.
Blest isle! with matchless beauty crowned,
And manly hearts to guard the fair.

Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves!
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves

US B52 Bombers arrive at USAF Fairford – getting ready to ‘defend’ Belarus? US B-52 Bombers back in Britain: escalating nuclear tension. Six US Air Force B-52 bombers arrived at RAF Fairford on Saturday. Official sources describe it as ‘a long planned training mission’, carrying out theatre and flight training across Europe and Africa. But local news site GloucestershireLive describes it as a ‘surprise deployment’. Yesterday the much respected expert Hans Kristensen from the Federation of American Scientists posted a picture of all six bombers on twitter, describing it as ‘a pointed message to Russia’. He went on to note the ‘interesting timing of deployment’, given what’s happening in Belarus, observing that these exercises normally take place over Poland and the Baltic states – Belarus’s neighbours. Such a mobilisation raises serious concerns, not least because some B-52s are nuclear capable. To bring these into an already tense mix seems ill-advised to say the least but this appears to be what is happening: Kristensen points out that two of the B-52s in the image are nuclear-capable. General Jeff Harrigian, U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa commander, describes the deployment thus: “B-52s are back at RAF Fairford, and will be operating across the theater in what will be a very active deployment. Our ability to quickly respond and assure allies and partners rests upon the fact that we are able to deploy our B-52s at a moment’s notice.”

Bahrain, Oman and Sudan all fail to follow UAE’s lead in normalising ties with IsraelUS Secretary of State Mike Pompeo headed home on Thursday, marking the end of a Middle East tour aimed at pressing other Arab countries to follow the UAE’s recent move and normalise relations with Israel. The tour was less than successful, however, as stops in Bahrain, Oman and Sudan failed to produce any public commitments to mend relations with Israel, following the United Arab Emirates’ decision to do so earlier this month. “Met today with Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al-Said on the importance of building regional peace, stability, and prosperity through a united Gulf Cooperation Council,” Pompeo tweeted as he left Oman, the last stop on his itinerary. While Bahrain and Sudan have stated implicitly that they do not plan on following the UAE’s lead regarding Israel, Oman, one of the more neutral players in the Gulf, did not immediately comment on the subject after Pompeo’s visit. The official Oman News Agency did say that during the meeting, “aspects of the existing bilateral cooperation between the sultanate and the United States were reviewed within the framework of the strong relations that bind them,” AFP reported….

Virus leaked from Wuhan – Where IS the Wuhan virus researcher who was named as Patient Zero? And why WERE road blocks placed around the lab where she worked last October? Top US body asks explosive questions on the origin of coronavirus – American health body asks if Covid-19 is linked to deaths of miners 8 years ago – The agency also asked if roadblocks were put around the Wuhan lab in OctoberThe National Institutes of Health asked if lab had virus sample pre-outbreak – The US government’s leading health research body has raised a series of bombshell concerns over the origins of the coronavirus pandemic and the activities of a secretive Chinese laboratory that was investigating bat diseases. The National Institutes of Health has asked if Covid-19 was linked to the deaths of three miners eight years ago and questioned whether the high-security laboratory in Wuhan possessed samples of the virus prior to the pandemic’s outbreak late last year. The agency also demanded to know more about the ‘apparent disappearance’ of a scientist at the lab rumoured to be Patient Zero, and questioned if roadblocks were placed around the Wuhan Institute of Virology between October 14 and 19 last year.  – The NIH is Washington’s key medical research body, headed by Francis Collins, one of the world’s top geneticists. He was appointed by Barack Obama and reconfirmed in the post by Donald Trump. NIH raised the concerns in a letter last month to EcoHealth Alliance, a charity trying to get US support restored for research with its long-term collaborators at the Wuhan Institute of Virology into zoonotic diseases that cross from animals such as bats to humans. A $3.7 million (£2.8 million) grant to the charity – headed by British scientist Peter Daszak – was ended after The Mail on Sunday disclosed that the US was funding the controversial Chinese laboratory at the centre of global scrutiny….

David Milliband blames Corbyn for Israel lobby infiltration of the Corbyn/Labour general election campaign and in-fighting in the Labour Party. Yet David Miliband started the ‘Free Syrian Army’ terrorist uprising in Syria when he was UK Foreign Secretary, kicking off the Syrian Civil War according to former French Foreign Minister Roland Dumas.  ’ I’m going to tell you something. I was in England two years before the violence in Syria on other business. I met with top British officials, who confessed to me that they were preparing something in Syria. This was in Britain not in America. Britain was organizing an invasion of rebels into Syria. They even asked me, although I was no longer minister for foreign affairs, if I would like to participate. Naturally, I refused, I said I’m French, that doesn’t interest me.’’ Dumas went on give the audience a quick lesson on the real reason for the war that has now claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people. ‘’This operation goes way back. It was prepared, preconceived and planned… in the region it is important to know that this Syrian regime has a very anti-Israeli stance. Consequently, everything that moves in the region- and I have this from the former Israeli prime minister who told me ‘we’ll try to get on with our neighbours but those who don’t agree with us will be destroyed. It’s a type of politics, a view of history, why not after all. But one should know about it….

Stand Up X, campaign against Covid 19 lockdown measures and masks, travels the country.  25 Cities in 27 Days September 2020 Tour – Stand Up X Mission – We are Peacefully Questioning the Narrative – WE DO NOT CONSENT – We do not consent to the illegal and disproportionate COVID-19 measures. NO NEW NORMAL- We are living in a state of authoritarian control. – We do not consent to Government social distancing measures infringing upon public and private life. We do not accept enforced masks. We do not accept a dictatorship of lockdowns, threats of lockdowns, and Covid Ghettos.- NO COVID VAX – Forced, coerced and mandated vaccinations violate the principles of the Nuremberg Code which states ‘any preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic medical intervention is only to be carried out with the prior, free and informed consent of the person concerned.’ Humanity will be a mass science experiment profiting billions for pharmaceutical companies and their partners including Bill Gates.- NO SURVEILLANCE TRACKING – Tracking & Tracing is a total violation of personal privacy and freedom to associate. It is a digital Gestapo. – To add to this oppression, the government is proposing a Health Passport, which is designed to track your health records, purchases and public activities including travel. It will not be temporary. It is the preliminary step to 24/7 tracking via an implantable chip. – ID2020 is an implantable digital chip developed by the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation, proposed for all 7 billion humans to have, in collaboration with Gavi, the Gates Foundation Vaccine Alliance. – TAKE DOWN 5G – 5G is necessary for the infrastructure of 24/7 Surveillance Tracking & Implantable Microchips. This is why our roads are currently being dug up to install the fibre cable network necessary for 5G. This is why trees, which block 5G signals (and help us breathe) are being chopped all over our cities. 5G is lethal to privacy as well as to health. We have no reason to believe 5G is safe. More than 500 studies have found harmful biologic or health effects from exposure to low levels of Radio Frequency Radiation proposed for 5G networks.

David Livingstone, author of ‘The Dying God: The hidden history of Western civilisation’, discussing the history of Kabbalah, Biblical Magi and hermetiscism. [ LINK TO THE DYING GOD VIDEO ] – When we remove the biases of how Western history is taught, we reveal a hidden tradition that began not in Greece, but in Babylon in the sixth century BC, and transformed not only Greek philosophy, Christianity, and Islam, but shaped the Renaissance and modern Europe. David Livingstone was born in Montreal in 1966 of a Jamaican-Canadian father (a school teacher) and French Canadian mother. At age seven, he asked his parents who Plato and Socrates were. Told they were truthseekers, he was shocked. “You mean people don’t know what the truth is?” He resolved to find it out. Livingstone studied history as an undergraduate but dropped out in 1992 when he realized he was being indoctrinated. “When I read that the Indo European [Aryan] race emerged from the Caucuses, out of nowhere, I got suspicious, and began the 13 years of research that led to my first book, The Dying God: The Hidden History of Western Civilization.” While writing that book, Livingstone paid his bills by planting trees in British Columbia and upholstering furniture in Montreal. Raised as an agnostic, he accepted Islam in 1992 after making a study of the major world religions. He married in 2000 and has three children.

First hour News Review: Criminalising trespass – Rees Mogg; Steve Pearce Bristol City Cabinet member for waste is pursuing an injunction against Bristol van dwellers in St Werburghs; Government set to pass new ‘hostile’ anti-Traveller laws this autumn. The Travellers’ Times can reveal that lawyers and campaigners are ready to act after the government recently announced that new ‘hostile’ anti-Traveller laws, which could include the criminalisation of trespass, will be delivered this autumnThe laws are set to follow the Government’s consultation on unauthorised camps and sites late last year and the Conservative Party’s 2019 General Election manifesto promise to criminalise trespass. Traveller law experts are already set to challenge any new laws in court, say lawyers. “At the time the consultation was in progress we made it clear why we felt that the Government’s proposals were discriminatory and unlawful,” a senior lawyer from Community Law Partnership told the Travellers’ Times. “If the Government bring in these proposals, then we are already instructed to take forward court challenges.” Home Secretary Priti Patel told MP’s that new laws based on the 2019 government consultation on unauthorised Traveller camps and sites would be brought forward in autumn. Earlier this month, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Leader of the House of Commons, told MP’s that the Government intended to deliver on its election promise to make trespass a criminal offence……

Conor Gogarty – Bristol Post and Daily Mirror – smear travellers in newspapers part of Tory campaign to criminalise trespass as UK leaves European Court of Human Rights: Road ‘descending into slum’ with drug taking and defecating in plain sight of kids. Business owners on New Gatton Road in St Werburghs, Bristol, are campaigning for the council to take action ‘before a child gets killed’ by Conor Gogarty & Lila Randall 16 FEB 2020 – Business owners in Bristol say a road has ‘descended into a slum’ with people injecting drugs in view of schoolchildren, fly tipping and defecating on the street. Other problems plaguing New Gatton Road in St. Werburghs, north-east central Bristol, are illegal caravan dwellers who allegedly discard drug needles onto the streets. Now businesses have hit out at Bristol council for not taking action to clean-up the area and protect children. Wholesaler BL Flooring and brewery Fierce & Noble say used needles are regularly discarded and “vegan propaganda” graffiti sprayed around the area, Bristol Live reports. BL Flooring complained to Bristol City Council about the caravans on an almost daily basis, but says none have been removed since last March and claims some have been there more than a year. After a complaint by nearby climbing centre Bloc Climbing, the Local Government Ombudsman last month found the council had been negligent in addressing the encampment. It ordered the council to pay Bloc Climbing £750 in compensation…

5G mast in St. Pauls – Freya Lockwood from Bristol Smart Cities who has refused interviews.  St Paul’s residents ‘concerned’ as 5G mast installed People living nearby claim that they weren’t properly consulted about the plans A 5G mast has been installed on Newfoundland Road in St Pauls this week, leaving residents feeling “neglected” as they claim they were never consulted. The planning application was approved by Bristol City Council in September 2019 and 18 objections were made. The objections predominantly raised concerns over claims that 5G is harmful to the health of humans, as well as its visual impact. The Report To Committee document states the application was “carefully considered” by officers and a consultation was held with ward councillors and Cabot Primary School, which is near the site, was notified. No responses were received from councillors or the school following this pre-application consultation. WHP Telecoms has been approached for a statement by BristolLive, but we are still awaiting a response. Amirah Cole, community activist and former manager of the Malcolm X Community Centre said she feels “devastated” that the mast was installed after applications for 5G masts were recently rejected by Bristol City Council. She feels as though there has been a lack of communication between members of the community and ward councillors. She said: “It makes you think, who is serving your community? I’m just really shocked. I can’t believe it. It makes residents feel as though they are not being heard. This just can’t continue. “It’s as if because it’s St Pauls, anything goes here. We recently fought for the M32 Maples and now we’re fighting for this. We’re always fighting for something. “People should be looking out for the residents because St Pauls is not a dumping ground. It’s as if the planning groups think if they do something, no one will notice. It’s one battle after the other.”…

Britain now in debt by £2 trillion, 100% of GDP – bank collapse, QE. The UK’s national debt tops £2 trillion, and passes 100% of the country’s GDP for the first time in over 50 years – The UK’s government debt has hit £2 trillion ($2.6 trillion) for the first time in history after policymakers doled out “extraordinary” fiscal support during the pandemic this year. Britain’s debt has exceeded 100% of economic output for the first time since the 1960s, the ONS said. The news comes about a week after the UK officially entered into recession as economic output dropped 20.4% in the second quarter. The UK’s government debt has exceeded £2 trillion ($2.6 trillion) for the first time in history, according to data released by the country’s national statistics authority on Friday. That indicates Britain’s debt has exceeded 100% of economic output for the first time since the 1960s, the ONS said. This month, the UK officially entered recession for the first time in 11 years as gross domestic product fell 20.4% in the second quarter. COVID-19’s severe impact on public finances showed that the £150 billion ($197 billion) borrowed in the first four months of the 2020 financial year almost tripled the £56 billion ($73 billion) borrowed throughout the entire previous financial year (April 2019 to March 2020).  The figures reflect a high amount of government borrowing to support businesses and individuals against the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus. The £26.7 billion ($35.2 billion) that the government borrowed in July “was the lowest monthly borrowing figure since March as fiscal support started to unwind,” said Ruth Gregory, senior UK economist at Capital Economics. “Nonetheless, it is another huge sum and pushes borrowing in the year to date to £150.5bn.”…

Hashem Abedi, brother of Manchester bomber, sentenced to life imprisonment: Libyan Islamic Fighting Group and MI6; Daily Mail article – Istanbul father – Manchester Arena suicide bomber Salman Abedi’s father who was arrested and then disappeared after the attack ‘is tracked down living in Istanbul’. Ramadan Abedi was captured by police in 2017 just hours after his son’s attack. Is now receiving medical treatment in Turkey’s Istanbul according to sources23 March 2020 The father of the Manchester Arena terrorists, who was arrested in Libya following the bombing which killed 22 people, is receiving medical aid in Istanbul. Ramadan Abedi, who was captured by police in 2017 just hours after insisting his son Salman Abedi was not behind the suicide bombing in the UK, has been regularly visiting the Turkish capital for treatment, The Daily Telegraph has revealed. While it is yet unknown what the father is being treated for, sources told the paper that it is being paid for by the Libyan government who he previously worked for as a civil servant. Following the Manchester Arena blast in 2017, which saw Abedi’s son Salman detonate a shrapnel-loaded bomb at a Ariana Grande concert, the father, who fled Tripoli in 1993 before claiming asylum in the UK, and his youngest son Hashem, 22, were arrested in Libya. The terrorist’s father, who returned to Libya from the UK after Gaddafi was overthrown in the country’s 2011 civil war, was quietly released without charge by Libya’s Special Deterrence Force, a militia group, and disappeared. However, the father, has now been tracked down by a local Libyan source who told the The Telegraph that he is often seen in Tripoli and has been visiting a hospital in Istanbul for unknown reasons….

Dawn Waddy on Sky about suspicious woman next to her at concert. Was bomber’s accomplice in the crowd on night of attack? Concertgoer tells of ‘suspicious woman smirking to herself’ at Ariana Grande concert. Police are currently trying to track down members of suicide bomber’s network. Investigators believe he had help making his bombing and planning the atrocity. A mother who was in the crowd with her daughter saw a suspicious woman. The woman ‘was alone and kept looking at where the explosion later happened’. A mother has told of a suspicious ‘smirking’ woman at the Ariana Grande concert who disappeared moments before the bomb went off, killing 22. Dawn Waddy twice reported the woman to ShowSec security after she sat on her own looking in the direction of where the explosion later happened. The claims emerged as police carry out a series of raids as they try to track down any accomplices of suicide bomber Salman Abedi. – Ms Waddy, who was at Monday night’s concert with her daughter Holly and a friend, said her friend first became concerned about the woman’s behaviour. She told Sky News: ‘I got suspicious myself and my friend, who was sat next to her told me; “I don’t like this”. ‘She was fidgeting with her zips and had her hands in her jacket and it put you on edge. ‘I told [ShowSec] security and they informed a high security. They were up and down the stairs where she sat discreetly looking at her.’ Ms Waddy said the woman became more agitated during the evening and left shortly before the bomb went off. Investigators fear bomber Abedi may have been part of a network of extremists and police and security services are examining whether the group have another bomb…

NHS Covid-19 Test Results to August 2020

Covid 19: former BBC Anna Brees website – Greg, a company director, on Covid 19; Hector Drummond Magazine reader and contributor Christopher Bowyer has done some Covid-19 test result graphs. The last one is particularly relevant to the current state of play, so please read to the end. (All graphs can be clicked to enlarge.) Christopher notes that: With the testing graphs, the https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk website has been redone, so now you can only download one lot of data at at time, rather than all the data in one big .csv file as before. So I have just done three graphs from the new website, one of positive tests in England, one of Eng hospital admissions, and one of hospital admissions per 1000 tests. First up we have the graph of daily Covid-19 positive tests (by specimen date), for England, with a 7-day average trendline (the thick line). The last graph is really interesting, as from mid-April to the last week in June the 7-day average has been fairly consistent, between 300 and 400 admissions per 1000 positive tests. But since the last week of June, probably due to the increased testing, the admission rate has fallen sharply, from 375 per 1000 positive tests to less than 100 per 1000 positive tests. This might help put the recent media/government hysteria and fear of a ‘second wave’ into context, by showing that the small increase in cases (due to the ramped-up testing) has not caused a similar spike in hospital admissions, they have continued to fall.

Second Nuclear Power Station planned in Bradwell-on-Sea: Jean Allen, Chair of Bradwell-on-Sea Parish Council, discusses the local opposition to this plan. Plans for new Bradwell nuclear power station open for public consultation. People in Bradwell-on-Sea in Essex will get to have their say on plans for a new nuclear power station from today. A 12 week public consultation is starting on proposals for Bradwell B – a twin reactor on the same site as a power station which stopped operating in 2002. The consultation will include fifteen exhibition events across Essex which will give local residents the chance to review the proposals. We are excited to share our early plans with the community, and to hear ideas on how to deliver this project to capture the huge opportunities that Bradwell B will bring to Essex, whilst also supporting the objective for the UK of net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The Bradwell A nuclear power station still sits on the shores of the Blackwater estuary. CEO of the Bradwell B project, Alan Raymant, is confident that building a new power station will bring a lot to the area….

Iranian tankers travelling to Venezuela seized by US: U.S. Seizes Over One Million Barrels Of Iranian Petroleum From Four Tankers Bound For VenezuelaAugust 14, 2020 – The U.S. has seized Iranian petroleum bound for Venezuela aboard four tankers near the Strait of Hormuz, enforcing a forfeiture order aimed at both Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Caracas government, the Justice Department announced Friday. Roughly 1.116 million barrels of fuel was confiscated from the foreign-flagged vessels M/T Bella, M/T Bering, M/T Pandi and M/T Luna, a Justice Department statement said, adding that the seizure took place “with the assistance of foreign partners.” The cargo was intercepted on Wednesday, under a warrant issued by a U.S. District Court over a July 2 complaint seeking the forfeiture of all petroleum products aboard the vessels. The property is now in U.S. custody, the Justice Department said. According to The Associated Press, quoting unnamed U.S. officials, no military force was used in the seizure of the cargo, and none of the ships was physically impounded. Instead, U.S. officials threatened ship owners, insurers and captains with sanctions to force them to hand over their cargo, the AP reported. In a statement Friday, State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus described the cargo as gasoline and said if the forfeiture is successful in U.S. courts, the proceeds could “support the U.S. Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund instead of those engaging in terrorism, like the [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps].” It wasn’t clear where the vessels, all four Liberian-flagged, are currently located, as none appears to have transmitted collision-avoidance beacons in several weeks, according to the site MarineTraffic.com. Last year, the Trump administration declared Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to be a terrorist organization. It has also stepped up pressure on the government of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro….

Coup in Mali – independence for African countries after WW2. Mali troops plan ‘transitional’ gov’t; Africa bloc to send envoys – Coup leaders say ‘transitional’ president from civilian or military ranks to be appointed as ECOWAS plans delegation. – France will pursue its military operations in Mali against Islamic fighters despite the ousting of the country’s president two days ago by a coup, the French armed force minister said on Thursday. “The Barkhane operation, asked for by the Mali population and authorised by the U.N. Security Council, continues,” Florence Parly said on Twitter.

Trump sanctions against Iran – Trump Attempt to Sanction Iran Sparks Outrage, Sets Up Collision With Allies – Several countries expressed outrage Thursday at President Donald Trump’s demand that the U.N. Security Council reimpose devastating sanctions against Iran for violating a 2015 nuclear agreement, even though the Trump administration walked away from the deal two years ago. The United States is planning a new diplomatic line of attack on Iran after a resounding defeat in the U.N. Security Council. Having lost its long-shot bid to indefinitely extend an international arms embargo on Iran last week, the Trump administration is poised to call for the re-imposition of all U.N. sanctions that had been eased under the 2015 nuclear deal from which the U.S. withdrew two years ago. Known as “snapback,” the provisions within the original agreement allow for signatories to put back in place international sanctions against Iran if it were to violate the deal, as Trump told reporters Wednesday that Iran had. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo traveled to New York on Thursday to begin informing Security Council members that they must now impose all of the sanctions that were lifted as a part of the deal brokered by the Obama administration. The move sets the U.S. up for a collision with the other permanent members of the Security Council, as well as Germany. Those countries have questioned the legality of the Trump administration’s move as they to struggle to maintain the only international agreement governing Iran’s nuclear program. And it remains unclear how the U.S. could unilaterally impose the U.N. sanctions. “The U.S. cannot trigger snapback mechanisms after its withdrawal from the JCPOA,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said in a tweet, using an abbreviation for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the formal name for the accord. Zhao added that China opposes U.S. attempts to impose sanctions against Iran unilaterally and demanded the U.S. abide by the U.N. resolutions, “fulfill obligations and respect the rights and interests of others.” The new sanctions would also extend the arms embargo on Iran. The Trump administration has unsuccessfully lobbied the U.N. in recent weeks to extend the current embargo, set to expire in October. The American delegation failed on Friday to secure enough “yes” votes within the Security Council to support the measure, with only one other country, the Dominican Republic, supporting the U.S….

Deal between Israel and UAE. UAE recognition of Israel: Whither the Arab and the Muslim world? An agreement to establish diplomatic relations between the United Arab Emirates and Israel and a Saudi-Pakistani spat over Kashmir coupled with feuds among Gulf states and between Turkey, the kingdom, and the Emirates drive nails into the notion that the Arab and Islamic world by definition share common geopolitical interests on the basis of ethnicity or religion and embrace kinship solidarity. The UAE-Israel agreement weakens the Palestinians’ efforts to create a state of their own but their criticism of the UAE’s move to become the third Arab country after Egypt and Jordan to officially recognise the Jewish state is based on a moral rather than a legal claim… The establishment of diplomatic relations strengthens the UAE’s position as one of the United States’ most important partners in the Middle East and allows Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to argue that his hardline policy towards the Palestinians does not impede a broader peace between the Jewish state and Arab nations… Netanyahu had pledged to annex parts of the West Bank on 1 July but has dragged his feet since then because the Trump administration, while endorsing the principle, opposed any tangible move on the ground. Trump feared that annexation would have pre-empted his ability to claim some success for his controversial Israel-Palestinian peace plan…

Protesters in Israel want Netanyahu to resign. Thousands return to streets in Israel urging Netanyahu to resign – Protesters clash with police outside the residence of embattled prime minister, who is facing corruption allegations.Thousands of demonstrators have returned to the streets of Jerusalem calling for the resignation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over allegations of corruption and his mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic. Protesters were seen clashing with police late into the night on Saturday and early on Sunday outside the residence of the embattled prime minister, who had recently clinched a historic diplomatic deal with the United Arab Emirates. Images from news agencies and social media showed several demonstrators being dragged by police as anti-Netanyahu protests continued for the eighth week. According to reports, some of the protesters had also attempted to march toward the residence of Israeli President Reuven Rivlin but were prevented by police. Haaretz newspaper estimated that as many as 50,000 Israelis protested across the country on Saturday…

Managing CEO Editor and friend of mayor Marvin Rees Pat Hart has a new BCFM politics show – ‘The Bristol Agenda’ – they discuss the Beirut explosion and Belarus elections, how well do they do?

EU rejected Belarus vote and may impose sanctions. EU rejects Belarus vote result, warns of imminent new sanctions The EU sanctions will hit ‘a substantial number of individuals responsible for violence, repression and election fraud’. The European Union has rejected the result of the disputed Belarus election, saying President Alexander Lukashenko’s victory was neither free nor fair, and warned of imminent fresh sanctions against his government. After Wednesday’s emergency video summit, EU Council President Charles Michel told the people of Belarus the bloc stood “by your side” as unprecedented protests against Lukashenko entered an 11th day. German Chancellor Angela Merkel called for national dialogue in Belarus – including Lukashenko, who has ruled for 26 years – to find a peaceful way out of the crisis. The EU has been working on a new round of sanctions against Belarus, targeting those involved in allegedly fixing the August 9 vote and in the bloody repression of protests, which have shaken Lukashenko’s grip on the ex-Soviet republic as never before….

First hour News Review:

‘Our generation’s NHS’: support grows for universal basic income. It was when he set up a pro bono advice clinic for people facing homelessness that Jonathan Williams, a trainee solicitor, really became committed to the idea of trialling universal basic income (UBI). “There was someone who had been on the street for over 12 months and he was exhausted. I just thought it would be a great foundation for him to get himself back on his feet,” he said. “So many people fall through the cracks and there’s a lot of people now that don’t even apply for universal credit because they’ve just given up on it.” Soon afterwards, and faced with an economic crisis triggered by coronavirus, he co-founded the Cardiff UBI Lab in May, one of a growing number of grassroots groups set up to examine the idea’s potential impact within a certain area and explore the launching of pilot schemes. Since the pandemic struck Britain, the number of UBI Labs has more than doubled, to 24 within the UBI Lab Network. UBI proposes that every citizen, regardless of their means, receives a sum of money – £1,000, for example – regularly and for life to cover the basic cost of living. Its proponents argue it will alleviate poverty and give people time to retrain and adapt to changing workplaces, be more creative and become more active and engaged. “It’s a 21st-century solution to 21st-century problems – it could be our generation’s NHS,” said Williams. “Our generation need a policy that is going to help people and I think this could really invigorate entrepreneurialism and help local economies.”

Up To Two Years In Prison For Vehicle Dwellers? Bristol Mayor Marvin Rees’ Bid to Ethnically Cleanse St Werburgh’s – Bristol’s Labour Mayor Marvin Rees has employed an expensive London barrister, one of the UK’s top public law and injunction lawyers, to try and ban travellers from the central Bristol parish of St Werburgh’s. This means scores of individuals who have managed to get an affordable vehicle or caravan roof over their heads may now be criminalised for living in this part of the city. Though businesses and a small number of residents have been complaining on and off for a decade or so about vehicle dwellers in the area, in February 2020 articles written by the Bristol Post chief reporter Conor Gogarty appeared in the local paper and the national Daily Mirror accusing, with only circumstantial photographic evidence, van-dwellers collectively of a host of crimes including drug use, graffiti, defecating in the street, crimes which are, in fact endemic right across the poorer quarters of the city. Not mentioned by Mr Gogarty in his articles is Bristol mayor Marvin Rees’ closure of the city’s public toilets and refusal of Marvin Rees’ administration to provide even simple sanitary or rubbish facilities for van-dwellers in the form of portaloos or communal bins. If the plaintiffs, Bristol City Council Legal Services Department represented by Mr Daniel Stilitz QC, are successful, it will mean signs going up on lampposts in the parish injuncting all van and caravan dwellers out of the area. Anyone discovered by Bristol City Council security, civil enforcement officers or police to be sleeping in a vehicle or caravan in St Werburgh’s will be liable to be summonsed for contempt of court, facing a maximum sentence of two years in prison. This quarter of the city is presently undergoing gentrification and some travellers believe that the council’s move may be driven by property speculators who believe new flats will not sell for top prices if the area is seen to be ‘teeming with travellers’. But Bristol is one of the most important traveller cities in the UK with many working on the South West annual festival circuit and spending the winter in the city. The 2020 pandemic however has decimated cultural and creative industries and meant many travellers are spending summer in the city for the first time in decades raising the question that Marvin Rees and the city establishment see this one-off pandemic-induced traveller overload as a rare ‘opportunity’ to target itinerants. Indeed travellers have been staying in Bristol for centuries and as such are a protected ethnic group under European, British and Bristol City Council’s own human rights legislation/ethical standards. Many have pointed out that whereas the previous independent mayor George Ferguson took a more tolerant view, trying to balance the needs of van-dwellers with the concerns of local residents wherever possible in the city, the present unelected Labour mayor Marvin Rees, who, due to SARS-CoV-2, did not stand for re-election as he was due to do in May 2020, has been working much more closely with local businesses, firmly taking their side in the long-running dispute. In an apparently contradictory twist mayor Rees is this week also calling for compassion toward minorities in his ‘City of Sanctuary’, updated in 2020 to a ‘City of Hope’ asking Bristol residents to take vulnerable homeless people into their own homes. On 11 August he was quoted by the BBC: “We have a great opportunity to make sure that no-one has to return to the streets following the Covid-19 crisis, and that includes people seeking asylum in our city.” In a previous case two years ago in June 2018 Mr Rees successfully injuncted scores of van-dwellers in the Easton area of Bristol out of Greenbank Road next to Greenbank cemetery, with the mayor who also lives adjacent to the cemetery presumably being one of those calling for the travellers to be removed from just one road rather than a whole parish. Many are now wondering, if Marvin Rees obtains this injunction, from Greenbank displacing travellers to St Werburgh’s to….? Where will the scores of van-dwellers be ‘herded’ to next? Or will Marvin Rees decide that with large council-owned sites around the city centre fenced off and empty, he may now have a duty to open them up for travellers. The case is due to conclude at Bristol’s Civil Justice Centre in November.

Our Cultural Joys Are Being Destroyed, Cromwell/Puritan Style! SHOWING SUPPORT FOR THE EMBATTLED EVENTS INDUSTRY – Venues across Bristol were illuminated red in support of the events industry, with dozens of events professionals also standing in silence on College Green. Tuesday evening’s events were part of two campaigns, #WeMakeEvents and #LightInRed, which have the message that without immediate and meaningful support from the government, the UK’s live events sector supply chain is at risk of collapse. The socially distanced art installation on College Green saw those taking part wearing all black with red masks to reinforce that they stand ‘on guard’ of their industry, which many fear will cease to exist if help is not given. While many people can return to work, talented and experienced event professionals cannot. The #WeMakeEvents campaign highlight the need for an extension of furlough, extension of the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme and making grants available to businesses in the event supply chain…

Pandemic and psychological warfare. 5000 recorded Covid deaths extra – Coronavirus: England death count review reduces UK toll by 5,000 – A review of how deaths from coronavirus are counted in England has reduced the UK death toll by more than 5,000, to 41,329, the government has announcedThe recalculation is based on a new definition of who has died from Covid. Previously, people in England who died at any point following a positive test, regardless of cause, were counted in the figures. But there will now be a cut-off of 28 days, providing a more accurate picture of the epidemic. This brings England’s measure in line with the other UK nations. New counting method The new methodology for counting deaths means the total number of people in the UK who have died from Covid-19 comes down from 46,706 to 41,329 – a reduction of 12%. And figures for deaths in England for the most recent week of data – 18 to 24 July – will drop by 75%, from 442 to 111. Prof John Newton, director of health improvement at Public Health England (PHE), said: “The way we count deaths in people with Covid-19 in England was originally chosen to avoid underestimating deaths caused by the virus in the early stages of the pandemic.” But he said the new methods of calculating deaths from the virus would give “crucial information about both recent trends and the overall mortality burden due to Covid-19″….

Covid antibody study – Up to 6% of England’s population may have had Covid, study shows
Imperial College home testing programme suggests 13% of Londoners have antibodies. About 3.4 million people in England – 6% of the population – have had Covid-19, with infections more common among members of black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, according to the results of a large home antibody testing study. The results from the study, known as React-2, are based on home finger-prick antibody test results from 100,000 participants across the 314 local authorities in England. “It gives us the most robust, cross-sectional estimate of the number of people who have been infected during the first wave of the pandemic,” said Prof Graham Cooke, a co-author of the research from Imperial College London. “Because we have done it in scale we can have more confidence about the differences between different groups,” he added. Cooke said the study, which has not yet been peer reviewed, provides important insights, both for easing lockdown and preparing for a second wave. “There is no evidence of anything near high-enough levels of herd immunity for this to be helpful at a population level and that it is likely there is a high proportion of susceptible people out there still that need to be protected,” he said. The 3.4 million people that it represents is many times higher than the tally of known cases for the UK as posted by Johns Hopkins University in the US – whose aggregated numbers have become the main reference for monitoring the disease – and which listed the country’s case numbers at 315,546 as of Thursday morning…

Sweden – herd immunity. Sweden’s Chief Epidemiologist: Our Capital Should Soon Reach Herd Immunity From Virus. Sweden’s chief epidemiologist has doubled down on his optimism regarding the coronavirus in his country, asserting that in a matter of weeks herd immunity could be reached in Sweden’s capital, Stockholm. Dr. Anders Tegnell, chief epidemiologist at Sweden’s Public Health Agency, told CNBC, “In major parts of Sweden, around Stockholm, we have reached a plateau (in new cases) and we’re already seeing the effect of herd immunity and in a few weeks’ time we’ll see even more of the effects of that. And in the rest of the country, the situation is stable.” He added that sampling and modeling data showed 20% of Stockholm’s population is already immune to the coronavirus, and that “in a few weeks’ time we might reach herd immunity and we believe that is why we’re seeing a slow decline in cases, in spite of sampling (testing for the coronavirus) more and more.”…

Peter Hitchins – King Canute’s struggle against the tide like us fighting Covid 19

Dr Andrew Wakefield from his ‘Shots in the dark: silence on vaccines’ documentary. Following the increase in cases of autism and other immune disorders among some particularly vulnerable people, several recognized specialists are questioning the safety of large-scale vaccination. Despite the serious side effects, pharmaceutical companies, the medical profession and government authorities continue to bury their heads in the sand, refusing to see a serious problem. In Quebec, the United States and France, as in most industrialized countries, victims are almost without recourse despite the high toxicity of substances such as mercury and aluminum contained in vaccines. With this hard-hitting documentary, Lina B. Moreco highlights a very worrying public health problem. Since they were introduced in the early 20th century, vaccines have been a tremendous medical and scientific success. Today perceived as a necessity, they are so familiar to us that their potential risks are rarely mentioned. However, the stakes are significant. Based on recommendations of health agencies, North American children receive about 48 doses of 14 different vaccines before the age of 6 — double the amount prescribed 25 years earlier. Despite this extraordinary increase, few studies independent of the pharmaceutical industry have been conducted into their long-term side effects. This is a disturbing situation given the numerous toxins, including mercury and aluminum, contained in some commonly administered vaccines. Several worried pediatricians and scientists are sounding the alarm. Some of the research underway indicates that vaccination is directly responsible for immune or neurological disorders among certain people genetically or neurologically predisposed to react badly to vaccine components. Cases of autism, multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, macrophagic myofasciitis, encephalitis, paralysis and neuropathies indicate the seriousness of the situation….

Was Easton-born Bristol Post editor for the last fifteen years Mike Norton sacked over damning national coverage of Bristol mayor Marvin Rees’ bullying local journalist Adam Postans? Bristol Post editor slams mayor’s ‘petty and childish’ ridicule of local democracy reporter – ‘That the people who run our city would behave in this way towards another human being, in plain sight, is reprehensible. It is an abuse of the public platform which their roles bestow upon them. And that’s the point here. Adam is not just a journalist. He represents the public, who pay his wages – and the wages of the people mocking him. When Mr Rees and his cronies ridiculed Adam, they were ridiculing all of us and our right to scrutinise council business. Adam, who has been a qualified journalist for 24 years, was the only reporter at the meeting. These people would clearly prefer his seat to remain unoccupied. They want to control the narrative of how the council’s business is reported, laced with their own nuances and no mentions of overspends or attribution.

Reach PLC controls Express, Mirror and Bristol Post, editor for 15 years Mike Norton has ‘left’ The Post – Bristol Post newspaper job cuts ‘a threat to democracy’ – The National Union of Journalists has warned about the “threat to democracy” over the planned cuts. Redundancies at two local newspapers pose “a grave threat” to Bristol’s democracy, a union has warned. All nine news reporters at the Bristol Post are at risk along with all staff at the Western Daily Press. “Fewer journalists means fewer people to question those in power,” a spokesperson for the National Union of Journalists said. The owner of the two titles, Reach, said it was “proud” of its Bristol papers and the “vital role” they play. “Reach continues to consult with colleagues and trade unions over the proposed changes which are subject to a minimum-45 day statutory consultation period,” the statement added. “The pandemic has seen significant declines in local advertising, so these changes are required and are about us operating more efficiently to protect local journalism and our news brands for the long-term.” Reach, which was created in March 2018 when Trinity Mirror bought the Daily Express and other titles, saw a 13% drop in revenue last year amid a continued decline in print newspaper sales. ‘Grave threat’: The firm, which also runs the Bristol Live website, announced the cuts earlier in July. In a meeting with staff on Wednesday, bosses told employees that 22 of 58 at-risk posts would be going across titles in the South West. Nationally, Reach is cutting 550 jobs. It comes after the editor of the Post, Mike Norton, left his job after 15 years in the role.

Rockefeller Foundation ‘Lock Step’ Paper Published in 2010 Predicted How a Pandemic Could be Used as an Excuse to Establish Global Authoritarian Power – Need to Know’ news site – Lockstep. China. Depopulation and Covid 19 – The report in question has the bland title, “Scenarios for the Future of Technology and International Development.” It was published in May 2010 in cooperation with the Global Business Network of futurologist Peter Schwartz. The report contains various futurist scenarios developed by Schwartz and company. One scenario carries the intriguing title, “LOCK STEP: A world of tighter top-down government control and more authoritarian leadership, with limited innovation and growing citizen pushback.” Here it gets interesting as in what some term predictive programming. The Schwartz scenario states, “In 2012, the pandemic that the world had been anticipating for years finally hit. Unlike 2009’s H1N1, this new influenza strain — originating from wild geese — was extremely virulent and deadly. Even the most pandemic-prepared nations were quickly overwhelmed when the virus streaked around the world, infecting nearly 20 percent of the global population and killing 8 million in just seven months…” He continues, “The pandemic also had a deadly effect on economies: international mobility of both people and goods screeched to a halt, debilitating industries like tourism and breaking global supply chains. Even locally, normally bustling shops and office buildings sat empty for months, devoid of both employees and customers.” This sounds eerily familiar. Then the scenario gets very interesting: “During the pandemic, national leaders around the world flexed their authority and imposed airtight rules and restrictions, from the mandatory wearing of face masks to body-temperature checks at the entries to communal spaces like train stations and supermarkets. Even after the pandemic faded, this more authoritarian control and oversight of citizens and their activities stuck and even intensified. In order to protect themselves from the spread of increasingly global problems — from pandemics and transnational terrorism to environmental crises and rising poverty — leaders around the world took a firmer grip on power.”

CRITICISM OF HOW ‘SECRET NATIONALISED’ BRISTOL ENERGY SALE HAS BEEN HANDLED – Opposition councillors have responded to the sale of the business side of Bristol Energy, with criticism of the way the whole saga has been handledOn Monday it was announced that Yü Energy has acquired 4,000 accounts from the troubled company for £1.34m, a sum branded “paltry” by Green mayoral candidate Sandy Hore-Ruthven, who has blamed the Labour administration for being “too secretive”. The deputy leader of Bristol’s Tory councillor group Claire Hiscott called the sale a necessary step to ending the council’s involvement with the loss-making firm but said taxpayers’ will be left saddled with huge financial losses. The Lib Dems have warned the full extent of these losses are yet to be realised. Bristol Energy has received £36.5m in public money since its launch in 2015 and has posted official losses of £32.5m. The sale of its business customer base to Yü Energy was confirmed the day before the Nottingham-based firm made headlines again with reports it was reprimanded on the London Stock Exchange over an accounting scandal…

Second hour International News Followed By Investigative reports: Beirut explosion – Government has resigned:

Pepe Escobar; should Israel flatten Beirut – Who Profits from the Beirut Blast? Making the case that the explosion resulted from attack. The narrative that the Beirut explosion was an exclusive consequence of negligence and corruption by the current Lebanese government is now set in stone, at least in the Atlanticist sphere. And yet, digging deeper, we find that negligence and corruption may have been fully exploited, via sabotage, to engineer it. Lebanon is prime John Le Carré territory. [see full article at the bottom of this page] A multinational den of spies of all shades – House of Saud agents, Zionist operatives, “moderate rebel” weaponizers, Hezbollah intellectuals, debauched Arab “royalty,” self-glorified smugglers – in a context of full spectrum economic disaster afflicting a member of the Axis of Resistance, a perennial target of Israel alongside Syria and Iran. As if this were not volcanic enough, into the tragedy stepped President Trump to muddy the – already contaminated – Eastern Mediterranean waters. Briefed by “our great generals,” Trump on Tuesday said: “According to them – they would know better than I would – but they seem to think it was an attack.” Trump added, “it was a bomb of some kind.” Was this incandescent remark letting the cat out of the bag by revealing classified information? Or was the President launching another non sequitur? Trump eventually walked his comments back after the Pentagon declined to confirm his claim about what the “generals” had said and his defense secretary, Mark Esper, supported the accident explanation for the blast. It’s yet another graphic illustration of the war engulfing the Beltway. Trump: attack. Pentagon: accident. “I don’t think anybody can say right now,” Trump said on Wednesday. “I’ve heard it both ways.” Still, it’s worth noting a report by Iran’s Mehr News Agency that four US Navy reconnaissance planes were spotted near Beirut at the time of the blasts. Is US intel aware of what really happened all along the spectrum of possibilities?…..

France’s Macron pushes for a government of technocrats to rescue Lebanon – French President Emmanuel Macron is pushing Lebanon’s political leaders to install an interim technocratic government able to enact reforms, win back public confidence and persuade donors to release billions of dollars in aid. A French diplomatic source said Macron delivered his message to Lebanon’s political parties on a visit to Beirut two days after the Aug. 4 port explosion that destroyed whole neighbourhoods, killed 172 people and made 250,000 homeless. The Lebanese government has since resigned amid angry street protests, though it continues in caretaker mode until a new administration is formed. Three Lebanese political sources said Macron, who was surrounded by crowds as he toured Beirut, was at the centre of international efforts to resolve the crisis. “There would be a first government whose mission would be to carry out urgent reforms,” said the French diplomatic source familiar with Macron’s thinking. “A government of technocrats, if you will, that can pass the reforms, manage emergency aid and respond to the aspirations of Beirut’s people.” Macron wants to use Lebanon’s desperate need for international reconstruction aid as leverage to persuade its factions to choose a new administration led by individuals untainted by corruption and backed by foreign donors…

Prominent American professor proposes that Israel “flatten Beirut” — a 1 million-person city it previously decimated – Amitai Etzioni, who teaches at renowned universities, says Israel may have no choice but to destroy Lebanonagain – A prominent American scholar who teaches international relations at George Washington University has publicly proposed that Israel “flatten Beirut” — a city with around 1 million people — in order to destroy the missiles of Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah. Professor Amitai Etzioni — who has taught at a variety of prestigious U.S. universities, including Columbia, Harvard and Berkeley, and who served as a senior advisor in President Jimmy Carter’s administration — made this proposal in an op-ed in Haaretz, the leading English-language Israeli newspaper, known as “The New York Times of Israel.” Haaretz represents the liberal wing of Israel’s increasingly far-right politics….

Belarus election: history of area; Russia not fully supporting Lukashenko; how accurate was 80% vote? Belarus protests continue as Lukashenko claims Nato tanks are on the border – Tens of thousands of protesters have taken to the streets of Minsk again today to protest against the allegedly fixed election result that returned Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to powerThe “March for Freedom” has seen Belarusian opponents of Lukashenko clash with police, after Lukashenko won last week’s electoin with 80 per cent of the vote. At least two protesters have died in the demonstrations and Lukashenko’s opponent in the election, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, has been forced to flee to Lithuania for her own safety. Lukashenko held his own rally today, which was a much smaller affair than the protests contesting his 26-year reign as head of Belarus. The President – often described as Europe’s last dictator – called his opponents “rats” at the rally and also claimed that Nato countries were stationing military personnel close to the Belarus border. Before the Open newsletter: Start your day with the City View podcast and key market data Lukashenko also said Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and Ukraine had urged him to run the election again, advice which he has flatly rebuffed. “If we kowtow to them, we will go into a tailspin,” he said. Protests began last week shortly after Belarusian authorities declared Lukashenko had won another term by a landslide result….

On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Breitbart News senior contributor and Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer stated that 2020 Democratic vice presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) engaged in a “massive cover-up” of alleged sexual abuse against Catholic priests. He explained that many “law firms and lawyers and people connected to the church hierarchy” financed the Harris campaign. Schweizer said Harris did “not well at all, particularly on very sensitive, explosive cases, including child sexual abuse.” “Tucker, from 2004 to 2011, she was San Francisco attorney general,” he continued. “She did not prosecute a single case of sexual abuse involving Catholic Church priests. To put that in context, of the 50 largest cities in America, all 50 of them prosecuted at least one case during that time period, except for Kamala Harris. And in addition to that, she inherited, from her predecessor, Terence Hallinan, hundreds of pages of internal Catholic documents that included the names of 40 current or recent priests who had been charged by parishioners with molestation.” “Hallinan was using those documents to build criminal cases, and he was also planning to release them after redacting the names of victims,” Schweizer added. “Kamala Harris actually deep-sixed that document and froze those documents, and those documents disappeared, much to the chagrin of victims’ groups. So, it’s a massive cover-up. And a lot of the people that financed her campaign to beat Hallinan were law firms and lawyers and people connected to the church hierarchy, who did not want that — those documents to come out.” Follow Ian Hanchett on Twitter @IanHanchett

Announcing Germany’s 2021 Election Winner? Bilderberg Pick Olaf Scholz, Merkel’s Replacement as German Chancellor. Corruption scandal forces Bilderberger King of Spain to flee to Dominican Republic – Spain’s scandal-hit former king flees ‘to Dominican Republic’. MADRID: Spain’s former king Juan Carlos, at the centre of an alleged $100-million corruption scandal, has reportedly fled to the Dominican Republic after his shock announcement he was going into exile. The 82-year-old revealed on Monday that he had taken the decision to leave Spain to help his son, the current King Felipe VI, “exercise his responsibilities”. The letter, published on the royal palace’s website, did not mention where the former king would go, nor when exactly he would leave the country. But on Tuesday, daily newspaper ABC reported that he left Spain on Sunday and flew to the Dominican Republic via Portugal. The La Vanguardia and El Mundo dailies similiarly said he planned to stay with friends in the Caribbean country, but online newspaper El Confidencial said he could be in Portugal, where he spent part of his youth, or in France or Italy.. Asked by AFP about the reports, a royal palace spokesman refused to give any information about Juan Carlos’s whereabouts….

Interview with Manfred Pietrch, author of ‘All Smoke and Mirrors’ blog: new German Chancellor was at Bilderberg; German Social Democrats pick Olaf Scholz to run for chancellor. Party hopes finance minister’s record during pandemic will appeal to voters in elections next year. Germany’s Social Democrats have named finance minister Olaf Scholz as their candidate for chancellor in next year’s federal elections, a move widely expected yet controversial inside the party. Among voters Mr Scholz is the SPD’s most popular politician. But he is much less well-liked by the left of his own party, which is struggling to navigate a new political course after heavy losses in recent elections. Last year, Saskia Esken and Norbert Walter-Borjans, themselves both further to the left, were elected as party co-leaders at the expense of Mr Scholz, a centrist. On Monday, Ms Esken and Mr Walter-Borjans released a joint statement announcing Mr Scholz’s candidacy. Launching his candidacy on Monday, Mr Scholz set out his campaign platform. This includes policies designed to bolster the welfare system, better wages for workers and a plan for combating climate change. He also credited the SPD with helping Germany to play a more unifying role in Europe during the coronavirus crisis than it had during the global financial crisis more than a decade earlier. “A new era is dawning, not only in the sense of shaping the post-coronavirus era, but also what the next decade will be about, and how we shape the future of our country, how we shape the future of Europe,” Mr Scholz said….

Russiagate Dan Bogino [YouTube video] Spygate: The Attempted Sabotage of Donald J. Trump by Dan Bongino, D.C. McAllister – The comprehensive story of how the Obama administration, Hillary Clinton campaign, and foreign entities tried to sabotage the Trump campaign in the 2016 presidential election. Everyone has an opinion about whether or not Donald Trump colluded with the Russians to defeat Hillary Clinton in 2016. The number of actors involved is staggering, the events are complicated, and it’s hard to know who or what to believe. Spygate bypasses opinion and brings facts together to expose the greatest political scandal in American history. Former Secret Service agent and NYPD police officer Dan Bongino joins forces with journalist D.C. McAllister to clear away fake news and show you how Trump’s political opponents, both foreign and domestic, tried to sabotage his campaign and delegitimize his presidency. By following the names and connections of significant actors, the authors reveal: Why the Obama administration sent a spy connected to the Deep State into the Trump campaign How Russians were connected to the opposition research firm hired by the Clinton campaign to find dirt on Trump How the FBI failed to examine DNC computers after they were hacked, relying instead on the findings of a private company connected to the DNC and the Obama administraton Why British intelligence played a role in building the collusion narrative What role Ukrainians played in legitimizing the perception that Trump was conspiring with the Russians How foreign players in the two events that kickstarted the Trump-Russia collusion investigation were connected to the Clinton Foundation, and What motivated the major actors who sought to frame the Trump campaign and secure a win for Hillary Clinton…

Film Producer Jean Paul Rice on Hollywood child sexual abuse – [link to bitchute film of JPR’s talk] – Child Sex Trafficking in Hollywood: Actor Goes Online Revealing Shocking Allegations. Paul Rice revealed that Amazon.com has removed his film “A Child’s Voice” even though it has been on the website for a year and a half. (Twitter: @FreedomsPhoenix) In a shocking video, American film actor and producer John Paul Rice sent an alarming message about child sex trafficking in Hollywood and urged viewers to take action to end violations which, according to him, are not accidental in the entertainment industry. In his 39-minute Instagram live video about a week ago, Paul Rice revealed that Amazon.com has removed his film “A Child’s Voice” even though it has been on the website for a year and a half. The independent producer explained that Amazon’s response was a typical one that didn’t address the content of the film, and rather cited “constant changes on the platform.” The 2018 feature film addresses human trafficking, particularly incidents targeting children and teenagers. According to Paul Rice, his movie highlighted global pedophile networks that “sell kids back and forth to each other, trading them like candy, and it goes right through Hollywood.” He also refers to a Dailybeast article that exposes the relationship between disgraced moguls Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein in terms of sex trafficking, from which the stories of his film “A Child’s Voice” have been derived…

Who Profits from the Beirut Blast?

Making the case that the explosion resulted from an attack

The narrative that the Beirut explosion was an exclusive consequence of negligence and corruption by the current Lebanese government is now set in stone, at least in the Atlanticist sphere.

And yet, digging deeper, we find that negligence and corruption may have been fully exploited, via sabotage, to engineer it.

Lebanon is prime John Le Carré territory. A multinational den of spies of all shades – House of Saud agents, Zionist operatives, “moderate rebel” weaponizers, Hezbollah intellectuals, debauched Arab “royalty,” self-glorified smugglers – in a context of full spectrum economic disaster afflicting a member of the Axis of Resistance, a perennial target of Israel alongside Syria and Iran.

As if this were not volcanic enough, into the tragedy stepped President Trump to muddy the – already contaminated – Eastern Mediterranean waters. Briefed by “our great generals,” Trump on Tuesday said: “According to them – they would know better than I would – but they seem to think it was an attack.”

Trump added, “it was a bomb of some kind.”

Was this incandescent remark letting the cat out of the bag by revealing classified information? Or was the President launching another non sequitur?

Trump eventually walked his comments back after the Pentagon declined to confirm his claim about what the “generals” had said and his defense secretary, Mark Esper, supported the accident explanation for the blast.

It’s yet another graphic illustration of the war engulfing the Beltway. Trump: attack. Pentagon: accident. “I don’t think anybody can say right now,” Trump said on Wednesday. “I’ve heard it both ways.”

Still, it’s worth noting a report by Iran’s Mehr News Agency that four US Navy reconnaissance planes were spotted near Beirut at the time of the blasts. Is US intel aware of what really happened all along the spectrum of possibilities?

That ammonium nitrate

Security at Beirut’s port – the nation’s prime economic hub – would have to be considered a top priority. But to adapt a line from Roman Polanski’s Chinatown: “Forget it, Jake. It’s Beirut.”

Those by now iconic 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate arrived in Beirut in September 2013 on board the Rhosus, a ship under Moldovan flag sailing from Batumi in Georgia to Mozambique. Rhosus ended up being impounded by Beirut’s Port State Control.

Subsequently the ship was de facto abandoned by its owner, shady businessman Igor Grechushkin, born in Russia and a resident of Cyprus, who suspiciously “lost interest” in his relatively precious cargo, not even trying to sell it, dumping style, to pay off his debts.

Grechushkin never paid his crew, who barely survived for several months before being repatriated on humanitarian grounds. The Cypriot government confirmed there was no request to Interpol from Lebanon to arrest him. The whole op feels like a cover – with the real recipients of the ammonium nitrate possibly being “moderate rebels” in Syria who use it to make IEDs and equip suicide trucks, such as the one that demolished the Al Kindi hospital in Aleppo.

The 2,750 tons – packed in 1-ton bags labeled “Nitroprill HD” – were transferred to the Hangar 12 warehouse by the quayside. What followed was an astonishing case of serial negligence.

From 2014 to 2017 letters from customs officials – a series of them – as well as proposed options to get rid of the dangerous cargo, exporting it or otherwise selling it, were simply ignored. Every time they tried to get a legal decision to dispose of the cargo, they got no answer from the Lebanese judiciary.

When Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab now proclaims, “Those responsible will pay the price,” context is absolutely essential.

Neither the prime minister nor the president nor any of the cabinet ministers knew that the ammonium nitrate was stored in Hangar 12, former Iranian diplomat Amir Mousavi, the director of the Center for Strategic Studies and International Relations in Tehran, confirms. We’re talking about a massive IED, placed mid-city.

The bureaucracy at Beirut’s port and the mafias who are actually in charge are closely linked to, among others, the al-Mostaqbal faction, which is led by former Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri, himself fully backed by the House of Saud.

The immensely corrupt Hariri was removed from power in October 2019 amid serious protests. His cronies “disappeared” at least $20 billion from Lebanon’s treasury – which seriously aggravated the nation’s currency crisis.

No wonder the current government – where we have Prime Minister Diab backed by Hezbollah – had not been informed about the ammonium nitrate.

Ammonium nitrate is quite stable, making it one of the safest explosives used in mining. Fire normally won’t set it off. It becomes highly explosive only if contaminated – for instance by oil – or heated to a point where it undergoes chemical changes that produce a sort of impermeable cocoon around it in which oxygen can build up to a dangerous level where an ignition can cause an explosion.

Why, after sleeping in Hangar 12 for seven years, did this pile suddenly feel an itch to explode?

So far, the prime straight to the point explanation, by Middle East expert Elijah Magnier, points to the tragedy being “sparked” – literally – by a clueless blacksmith with a blowtorch operating quite close to the unsecured ammonium nitrate. Unsecured due, once again, to negligence and corruption – or as part of an intentional “mistake” anticipating the possibility of a future blast.

This scenario, though, does not explain the initial “fireworks” explosion. And certainly does not explain what no one – at least in the West – is talking about: the deliberate fires set to an Iranian market in Ajam in the UAE, and also to a series of food/agricultural warehouses in Najaf, Iraq, immediately after the Beirut tragedy.

Follow the money

Lebanon – boasting assets and real estate worth trillions of dollars – is a juicy peach for global finance vultures. To grab these assets at rock bottom prices, in the middle of the New Great Depression, is simply irresistible. In parallel, the IMF vulture would embark on full shakedown mode and finally “forgive” some of Beirut’s debts as long as a harsh variation of “structural adjustment” is imposed.

Who profits, in this case, are the geopolitical and geoeconomic interests of US, Saudi Arabia and France. It’s no accident that President Macron, a dutiful Rothschild servant, arrived in Beirut Thursday to pledge Paris neocolonial “support” and all but impose, like a Viceroy, a comprehensive set of “reforms”. A Monty Python-infused dialogue, complete with heavy French accent, might have followed along these lines: “We want to buy your port.” “It’s not for sale.” “Oh, what a pity, an accident just happened.”

Already a month ago the IMF was “warning” that “implosion” in Lebanon was “accelerating.” Prime Minister Diab had to accept the proverbial “offer you can’t refuse” and thus “unlock billions of dollars in donor funds.” Or else. The non-stop run on the Lebanese currency, for over a year now, was just a – relatively polite – warning.

This is happening amid a massive global asset grab characterized in the larger context by American GDP down by almost 40%, arrays of bankruptcies, a handful of billionaires amassing unbelievable profits and too-big-to-fail megabanks duly bailed out with a tsunami of free money.

Dag Detter, a Swedish financier, and Nasser Saidi, a former Lebanese minister and central bank vice governor, suggest that the nation’s assets be placed in a national wealth fund. Juicy assets include Electricité du Liban (EDL), water utilities, airports, the MEA airline , telecom company OGERO, the Casino du Liban.

EDL, for instance, is responsible for 30% of Beirut’s budget deficit.

That’s not nearly enough for the IMF and Western mega banks. They want to gobble up the whole thing, plus a lot of real estate.

“The economic value of public real estate can be worth at least as much as GDP and often several times the value of the operational part of any portfolio,” say Detter and Saidi.

Who’s feeling the shockwaves?

Once again, Israel is the proverbial elephant in a room now widely depicted by Western corporate media as “Lebanon’s Chernobyl.”

A scenario like the Beirut catastrophe has been linked to Israeli plans since February 2016.

Israel did admit that Hangar 12 was not a Hezbollah weapons storage unit. Yet, crucially, on the same day of the Beirut blast, and following a series of suspicious explosions in Iran and high tension in the Syria-Israeli border, Prime Minister Netanyahu tweeted , in the present tense: “We hit a cell and now we hit the dispatchers. We will do what is necessary in order to defend ourselves. I suggest to all of them, including Hezbollah, to consider this.”

That ties in with the intent, openly proclaimed late last week, to bomb Lebanese infrastructure if Hezbollah harms Israeli Defense Forces soldiers or Israeli civilians.

headline – “Beirut Blast Shockwaves Will Be Felt by Hezbollah for a Long Time” – confirms that the only thing that matters for Tel Aviv is to profit from the tragedy to demonize Hezbollah, and by association, Iran. That ties in with the US Congress “Countering Hezbollah in Lebanon’s Military Act of 2019” {S.1886}, which all but orders Beirut to expel Hezbollah from Lebanon.

And yet Israel has been strangely subdued.

Muddying the waters even more, Saudi intel – which has access to Mossad, and demonizes Hezbollah way more than Israel – steps in. All the intel ops I talked to refuse to go on the record, considering the extreme sensitivity of the subject.

Still, it must be stressed that a Saudi intel source whose stock in trade is frequent information exchanges with the Mossad, asserts that the original target was Hezbollah missiles stored in Beirut’s port. His story is that Prime Minister Netanyahu was about to take credit for the strike – following up on his tweet. But then the Mossad realized the op had turned horribly wrong and metastasized into a major catastrophe.

The problem starts with the fact this was not a Hezbollah weapons depot – as even Israel admitted. When weapons depots are blown up, there’s a primary explosion followed by several smaller explosions, something that could last for days. That’s not what happened in Beirut. The initial explosion was followed by a massive second blast – almost certainly a major chemical explosion – and then there was silence.

Thierry Meyssan, very close to Syrian intel, advances the possibility that the “attack” was carried out with an unknown weapon, a missile -– and not a nuclear bomb – tested in Syria in January 2020. (The test is shown in an attached video.) Neither Syria nor Iran ever made a reference to this unknown weapon, and I got no confirmation about its existence.

Assuming Beirut port was hit by an “unknown weapon,” President Trump may have told the truth: It was an “attack”. And that would explain why Netanyahu, contemplating the devastation in Beirut, decided that Israel would need to maintain a very low profile.

Watch that camel in motion

The Beirut explosion at first sight might be seen as a deadly blow against the Belt and Road Initiative, considering that China regards the connectivity between Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon as the cornerstone of the Southwest Asia Belt and Road corridor.

Yet that may backfire – badly. China and Iran are already positioning themselves as the go-to investors post-blast, in sharp contrast with the IMF hit men, and as advised by Hezbollah Secretary-General Nasrallah only a few weeks ago.

Syria and Iran are in the forefront of providing aid to Lebanon. Tehran is sending an emergency hospital, food packages, medicine and medical equipment. Syria opened its borders with Lebanon, dispatched medical teams and is receiving patients from Beirut’s hospitals.

It’s always important to keep in mind that the “attack” (Trump) on Beirut’s port destroyed Lebanon’s main grain silo, apart from engineering the total destruction of the port – the nation’s key trade lifeline.

That would fit into a strategy of starving Lebanon. On the same day Lebanon became to a great extent dependent on Syria for food – as it now carries only a month’s supply of wheat – the US attacked silos in Syria.

Syria is a huge exporter of organic wheat. And that’s why the US routinely targets Syrian silos and burns its crops – attempting also to starve Syria and force Damascus, already under harsh sanctions, to spend badly needed funds to buy food

In stark contrast to the interests of the US/France/Saudi axis, Plan A for Lebanon would be to progressively drop out of the US-France stranglehold and head straight into Belt and Road as well as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Go East, the Eurasian way. The port and even a great deal of the devastated city, in the medium term, can be quickly and professionally rebuilt by Chinese investment. The Chinese are specialists in port construction and management.

This avowedly optimistic scenario would imply a purge of the hyper-wealthy, corrupt weapons/drugs/real estate scoundrels of Lebanon’s plutocracy – which in any case scurry away to their tony Paris apartments at the first sign of trouble.

Couple that with Hezbollah’s very successful social welfare system – which I saw for myself at work last year – having a shot at winning the confidence of the impoverished middle classes and thus becoming the core of the reconstruction.

It will be a Sisyphean struggle. But compare this situation with the Empire of Chaos – which needs chaos everywhere, especially across Eurasia, to cover for the coming, Mad Max chaos inside the US.

General Wesley Clark’s notorious 7 countries in 5 years once again come to mind – and Lebanon remains one of those 7 countries. The Lebanese lira may have collapsed; most Lebanese may be completely broke; and now Beirut is semi-devastated. That may be the straw breaking the camel’s back – releasing the camel to the freedom of finally retracing its steps back to Asia along the New Silk Roads.

First hour News Review: RIP activist Steve Norman, who accused Bristol mayor Marvin Rees of being an establishment puppet: ‘Where Marvin Rees is now is a direct result of what his dad did for the establishment’. Plus on the Merchant Venturers buying part of Avonmouth Port: Facing down councillor opposition, and armed with a supportive independent valuation report and the backing of senior council bureaucrats including the Director of Property (a former corporate property consultant), the Mayor argued that the £10 million represented a “very good deal” and a much needed windfall for our austerity-hit city. Credible arguments were also laid down that the Port needed the freehold in order to attract investment and add to the local economy, whilst at current the freehold represented little active value to the council. Pressing ahead and under no legal constraints by the councillor rebellion, the Mayor succeeded in passing a motion to sell at the executive decision making cabinet meeting two weeks later. All members of the cabinet conceded to the terms of the sale. Except one, who had changed his mind about the sale citing sustained frustration with the process and concern regarding public interest safeguards. That one was Labour Assistant Mayor Mark Bradshaw. Bradshaw was unceremoniously fired with an email by Ferguson within hours. The drama in the council continued, with Mayor Ferguson accusing the other politician and Labour mayoral candidate hopeful of ‘playing politics’. And so with these abridged version of events the land was sold to the Bristol Port Company, with the council retaining a 12.5% non-voting share, unconnected to the freehold. The Bristol Port Company owner Terence Mordaunt proclaimed “the city’s decision to sell the freehold is a vindication of the Mayoral system…”.

‘I hope the bastard dies’… 1986 – National newspaper headlines from St Pauls Community Association spokesman Kuomba Balogun remarks, in response to Operation Delivery commander Malcolm Popperwell having a suspected heart attack – This was the week in September 1986 when Bristol was beginning to feel the backlash from Operation Delivery, in which 600 men from the Avon and Somerset police force had gone into St Paul’s to make a series of arrests for drug offences. This had led to an outbreak of stone throwing, cars set on fire, a smash and grad raid on a local store and a mugging. To make matters worse the Assistant Chief Constable Malcolm Popperwell was taken off to hospital after a suspected heart attack. How Thatcher destroyed Britain and all the upheavals of the time. Interview with Kuomba Balogun, anti Apartheid campaigner in the UK in the 1980s: racism in the police and how he got in all the newspapers; Said of Chief Suerintendent Malcolm Popperwell who was alleged to have had a heart attack ‘I hope the bastard dies’ and is reported in the national press. He said that there were differences between his view of the events in St Paul’s and those contained in the statement which demanded a full, independent public inquiry into Operation Delivery. There were angry scenes at a Police Liaison Committee over the fact that the police did not consult community leaders before the raid and that it had been provocative and heavy handed. And Avon County councillor Roger Berry described the extent and duration of the raid as “totally unacceptable.” It was an unhappy day for the police who were, this very week, staging a parade on College Green to celebrate 150 years of city policing. Some 45 retired police officers joined 140 police officers for the event which was attended by Bristol’s Lord Mayor, Joan Jones and the Lord Lieutenant of Avon, Sir John Wills. Malcolm Popperwell did in fact survive another thirty four years until he passed away in January 2020 at the ripe old age of 86: Malcolm Robert Popperwell passed away peacefully on 11th January 2020 at Williton Community Hospital, aged 86 years. A beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather. Former Assistant Chief Constable of The Avon and Somerset Constabulary. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and many friends. There will be a Private Committal. A Service of Celebration for his Life will be held in St. Andrew’s Church, Burnham-on-Sea on Thursday 13th February at 1.00 p.m. Family flowers only please. Community worker is cleared of machete attack on Rastafarian – The Guardian (London) April 9, 1988 – A jury yesterday cleared a community worker on charges of attacking Rastafarian Mr Kuomba Balogun with a machete. Earlier, Mr Balogun, aged 26, was fined £150 by the judge at Bristol crown court for turning up late on the second day of the trial. Mr Justice Smithies told his counsel, Mr Ian Glenn: ‘A fine would be a proper way of expressing public disapproval.’ The judge also ordered Mr Balogun to pay £100 towards his defence costs but Mr Glenn said that he did not intend to claim them. The jury found Mr Valentine Walker, aged 36, of Robertson Road, Easton, Bristol, not guilty of unlawfully wounding Mr Balogun with intent. An alternative charge of unlawful wounding was also dismissed. The prosecution claimed that Mr Walker, former vice-chairman of the St Paul’s Community Association, of which Mr Balogun is chairman had struck a 2ft 6in machete into Mr Bologun’s neck. Mr Mark Horton, prosecuting, said the blow came within one centimetre of severing his jugular vein. The court was told that Mr Balogun did not initially report the incident to the police and discharged himself from Bristol Royal Infirmary after treatment. In his address to the jury, Mr Nicholas O’Brien, the defence counsel said: ‘Mr Balogun is an evil man who does not share society’s standards or values.’ Mr Walker did not appear during the two-day hearing and the judge said that an arrest warrant still stood but was now with bail so that he would not have to be immediately arrested when found.

“Where Marvin Rees Is Now Is A Result Of What His Dad [Valentine Walker] Did For The Establishment” Steve Norman. Tributes paid to Steve Norman, Bristol’s ‘well-known, relentless and loudest’ activist – “Steve always fought for the underdog, the poor, the homeless and the working class – a true hero and inspiration to so many” – Mr Norman’s closest political ally was John Langley. He described Mr Norman as: “A colleague, campaigner, confidant, blood brother, political ally, agent and above all, selfless and generous friend who I proudly stood shoulder to shoulder with and battled alongside, even when at times the odds felt against us. “Yet we won through perseverance and sheer bloody-mindedness,” he added. Writing on the Bristolian website, Fred Hampton said Mr Norman was one of the ‘great community activists in Bristol’. “And on top of all this he did day-to-day case work from tribunals to legal advice to helping the elderly with PPI claims,” he said. “He was a go to man for many who have no voice. Steve did all of this work for free, because he cared and because he wouldn’t take the cruelties of this world lying down. The ‘Avon mouth’ would never be silent and would never be bought off. “In this world of so-called ‘professional activism’ and paid ‘social justice’ consultants, of politicians with no principals, of neo-liberal PR bullsh**, of corruption and nepotism and the rich getting richer, Steve Norman stuck two fingers up and did something about it. A shining example of what we need and a lesson to us all,” he added…

The return of apartheid, Israeli styleThe annexation of any land, Palestinian land included, is a violation of international law. In occupied Palestine, such a move not only deprives the people of their land but also their freedom of movement and their status as residents. Moreover, annexation will create more obstacles for the moribund peace process. It is now 53 years since Israel annexed East Jerusalem.Israel’s apartheid system.  The possibly temporary postponement of Israel’s annexation of swathes of the occupied West Bank and Jordan Valley arose out of disagreements from within the Zionist state itself as well as other voices warning of the consequences of such a move. The fear is that Israel will be portrayed even more strongly as an apartheid state, recreating the disgraceful, disgraced and dismantled South African apartheid system. Indeed, that annexation will be seen as the return of apartheid, Israeli style. Such accusations have been in the public domain since the 1970s, especially in Europe and North America. Israel, it has been said and demonstrated for decades, already imposes apartheid across the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as on its Palestinian Arab citizens who, although forming 20 per cent of the population, have local authorities and municipalities covering barely 2.5 per cent of the country’s land. Congestion in housing within Arab communities across Israel is 11 times greater than in Jewish areas and state finance for education provision, for example, is a fraction of that paid for the education of Jews. As a result, Israel has been persistent in its efforts to persuade the world that it does not apply such a policy against its Arab citizens such as preventing equal employment opportunities for Arabs and Jews; complete segregation on public transport and in schools, universities, housing, the beaches; Arab autonomy; and the deprivation of political rights to Palestinians. The reality is that even if it does not reproduce all aspects of South African apartheid, it uses the principles of “separate development” — apartheid — to control the lives of the Palestinians. What’s more, it will continue to use the tools of apartheid to deny them their rights, within Israel and in the occupied territories….

Second hour International News Followed By Investigative reports:   Attack or accident in Beirut:  Trump saying it’s probably a bomb;  Benny Ganz …Israel ;  explosion of a new type of Thermobaric weapon?  Netanyahu and corruption.

Did Israel destroy East Beirut with a new weapon? by Thierry Meyssan – The first Israeli Prime Minister has ordered the destruction of a Hezbollah weapons warehouse in Beirut with a new weapon. The weapon, which is not well known, caused considerable damage in the city, killing more than 100 people, injuring 5,000 and destroying many buildings. This time it will be difficult for Benjamin Netanyahu to deny it. On September 27, 2018, Benjamin Netanyahu pointed out to the United Nations General Assembly forum the warehouse that will explode on 4 August 2020 as a Hezbollah arms depot. The first Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, authorised a strike against a Hezbollah arms depot using a new weapon that has been tested for seven months in Syria. It is not known whether the second Prime Minister, Benny Gantz, gave his consent. The strike was carried out on August 4, 2020, at the exact location designated by Benjamin Netanyahu in his speech to the United Nations on September 27, 2018.  It is obviously not an atomic bomb in the strategic sense. The weapon was tested in Syria on a plain in the countryside and then in the Persian Gulf on the water against Iranian military vessels. This is the first time it has been used in an urban environment, in a particular environment that made the air blast and vibrations reflect off the water and the mountains. Far from destroying only the port of Beirut, it killed about a hundred people, injured at least 5,000 others, and largely destroyed the eastern part of the city (the western part was largely protected by the grain silo). Israel immediately activated its networks in the international media to cover up its crime and lend credence to the idea of the accidental explosion of a fertilizer stockpile. As is often the case, false culprits are named, and the international media machine repeats this lie over and over again in the absence of any investigation. Yet there was indeed a smokestack incompatible with the thesis of a fertilizer explosion….

What’s behind Israel’s growing protests? – Israelis have been taking to the streets in increasing numbers for weeks, protesting against the right-wing government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The country is at a crucial juncture. Last Saturday, a rally in Jerusalem drew more than 10,000 protesters, with thousands more protesting elsewhere in the country, demanding Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s resignation. This was just the latest in a series of weekly demonstrations which have rocked Israel for months, drawing a growing number of people who are angry with the government’s handling of a second wave of COVID-19 infections and the economic impact of the pandemic. Political dissatisfaction is at the heart of these protests. “To put it in two words, the main goal is ‘Bibi – resign,’ says 59-year-old Tali Etzion from Tel Aviv, who’s been participating in anti-government demonstrations since the country’s 2011 social protests, which saw hundreds of thousands in the streets demanding economic justice and an end to corruption. “In more than two words, we all believe, each one from their own angle, that Netanyahu is the wrong person to lead a country — in so-called normal times and even more so in times like these,” Etzion explains, referring to the management of the coronavirus crisis. “The gap between citizens whose lives have been so badly damaged and people who claim to be leaders but pad themselves to no end is unbearable,” says Ofer Shelley, 50, a pianist and concert producer from Jerusalem, whose livelihood as a musician has been severely affected by the government’s “complete detachment from the people,” as he calls it. “None of our leaders stand up and say ‘I see your suffering, I see the distress.’ They don’t even bother talking to the people protesting. Not once.” “Netanyahu denies the nature of the demonstrations, their scope and even the identity of their participants,” says Efrat Safran, 57, a longtime protester and a trained lawyer from the central city of Ramat Hasharon, who’s also a member of a protest group called “Mothers Against Police Violence,” meant to serve as a buffer between protesters and police. “No single body or person is organizing this,” she says. “The protests have grown organically and include people from across the political spectrum,” including what she refers to as “disillusioned” Netanyahu voters….

Mysterious explosions keep happening in Iran. Israel is likely behind it. – Experts say the suspected sabotage is part of Israel’s long-term efforts to delay any and all of Iran’s nuclear development. For weeks, Iran has faced a deadly wave of explosions and fires at sensitive military and civilian sites, including one incident that caused immense damage to an important nuclear facility. No one officially knows why it’s happening or who is responsible — but many believe Israel, with the Trump administration’s tacit or even direct support, is behind it all. On June 26, a massive explosion rocked the Khojir missile-production complex, a location considered vital to Iran’s missile capabilities. Four days later, another blast — this time at a medical clinic north of the capital, Tehran — killed 19 people. On July 2, an explosion and fire occurred at the underground Natanz nuclear facility, a key component to the country’s uranium-enrichment efforts. What actually transpired is unclear, but a Middle Eastern official — believed to be the head of Israeli intelligence, Yossi Cohen — told the New York Times last week that Israel had detonated a bomb. Analysts differ on the extent of the damage, but assessments say centrifuge production may have been delayed a few months or even a few years as a result of the explosion and fire. And this week, fires broke out in an aluminium plant in Lamerd and a seaport in Bushehr, engulfing at least seven wooden ships in the process. It’s possible all of this is a coincidence. With a reeling economy and a devastating coronavirus outbreak, perhaps the Islamic Republic has merely struggled to maintain sensitive facilities that require constant upkeep. Accidents do happen. But current and former US and Israeli officials as well as experts I spoke to are pretty certain Israel is responsible for the incidents at the military and nuclear sites (but not the clinic or the port or plant), with or without Washington’s explicit approval. “There is a pattern of escalation and a context that would suggest a motive on the Israeli side to target the Iranians,” said Dalia Dassa Kaye, the director of the Center for Middle East Public Policy at the RAND Corporation….

Fires and explosions in Iran.  China and flood alert from Three Gorges Dam ..  Anniversary of atomic bomb dropping on Hiroshima:   Chris Busby on the dangers of nuclear weapons and nuclear power; Stuxnet virus; Bikini Atol and WW2; Gar Alperovitz book, The Decision To Use The Atomic Bomb;  Nazis, enriched uranium, and deals at the end of WW2.

Dr. Chris Busby on 75th Hiroshima Day 2020 – Hinkley C Will Never Be Finished – The ICRP’s radiation risk model is bogus science – Given the serious scientific errors that underlie the ICRP model, we should not be surprised that is wildly incorrect, nor at the constant discrepancies that occur between its predictions, and observed outcomesSome of these are reported in a study of the nuclear test veteran children and grandchildren by Mireille de Messieres and I, published last week the peer-review journal Epidemiology, which shows long term health damage in the children and grand-children of nuclear test veterans. (See this summary here on TE.) These discrepancies are greatest for low levels of radiation from internal sources, which the ICRP judges to be essentially harmless. Actual risk factors may be as much as 1,000 times greater than the ICRP model suggests. I am prepared to accept that the initial publication of the health risks caused by human exposure to radiation, based on the Hiroshima data and its faulty choice of controls, is a genuine scientific error – if a serious one that demands immediate correction. But ICRP’s unswerving adherence to a bogus risk model based on the fallacious Hiroshima findings is something else altogether – all the more so since the model is being used by the global nuclear establishment to deny the deaths of millions that have been caused by radioactive exposures. The stated purpose of ICRP is “to prevent cancer and other diseases and effects associated with exposure to ionising radiation, and to protect the environment.”But increasing numbers of people believe that the ICRP’s true purpose is to conceal the true scale and nature of the health impacts of radiation – and so create ‘consent’ for the world’s continued radioactive pollution by the nuclear power and nuclear weapons industries.

Leaked Documents Reveal How U.S., Gulf Countries Ship Weapons to Terrorists Using Diplomatic Flight Cover – A recent report by Bulgarian journalist Dilyana Gaytandzhieva entitled, “350 Diplomatic Flights Carry Weapons For Terrorists,” may very well have blown the lid on a secret program to provide weapons to terrorists in Iraq and Syria as well as anti-Houthi militants in Yemen. Dilyana Gaytandzhieva from ‘Arms Watch’, on arms smuggling into Syria through Turkey, by NATO.  Gaytandzhieva’s report claims that the documents leaked to her by anonymous sources show that the Azerbaijani airline Silk Way Airlines was contracted by companies in the United States, Israel, and the Balkans to the militaries of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates as well as U.S. Special Ops. Gaytandzhieva’s own on-the-ground reporting also uncovered many weapons related to this secret trade in Aleppo after she had travelled there to investigate the story. PLEASE NOTE: It is important to visit Gaytandzhieva’s original article in which she presents scanned copies of the documents sent to her. Although Gaytandzhieva’s report is months old, it gained wider traction in the alternative media after it was revealed she was subsequently interrogated by Bulgaria’s intelligence services and then fired from her newspaper because of the story. Gaytandzhieva reports that at least 350 diplomatic flights by Silk Way Airlines (an Azeri state-run company) transported weapons all across the world to various war zones over the past three years. She writes that the planes carried “tens of tons of heavy weapons and ammunition headed to terrorists under the cover of diplomatic flights.” Gaytandzhieva says that the documents implicating Silk Way Airlines were sent to her on Twitter by Anonymous Bulgaria. She reports that the documents include correspondence between the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria. They also include documents which were attached requesting clearance for overflight and/or landing in Bulgaria and many other countries in Europe as well as the United States, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Turkey including others still. According to Gaytandzhieva, the documents show Silk Way Airlines offering diplomatic flights to private companies and arm manufacturers in Israel, the Balkans, and the United States as well as the UAE, KSA, militaries and U.S. Special Ops Command (USSOCOM). The airline also offered its services to the militaries of Germany and Denmark in Afghanistan and to Sweden in Iraq…

Have you seen this release reported anywhere? Ghislaine Maxwell documents are released, including Jeffrey Epstein emails – NEW YORK (Reuters) – Documents about dealings between Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein were publicly released on Thursday by a U.S. court, where the British socialite faces criminal charges she aided the late financier’s sexual abuse of girls. Jean Paul Rice on the Ghislaine Maxwell prosecution legal papers being released. Hollywood and child abuse…..Among the materials released were email correspondence between the pair in early 2015, including an email in which Epstein told Maxwell she had “done nothing wrong.” U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska had ordered the documents’ release by Thursday, saying the public’s right to see them outweighed Maxwell’s interests in keeping them under seal. However, two depositions remain under seal after Maxwell filed an emergency motion with the federal appeals court in Manhattan earlier on Thursday to keep them from becoming public. That court has yet to rule, and the depositions will remain sealed until at least Monday. Lawyers for Maxwell have said that in one of those depositions, filed in April 2016, Maxwell was asked “intrusive” questions concerning her sex life, and that its release could make it “difficult if not impossible” to get a fair trial. The second is a deposition by an unnamed Epstein accuser. Lawyers for Maxwell did not immediately respond to requests for comment after the documents were unsealed. The cache of documents released on Thursday and the depositions that remain under wraps were part of a now-settled 2015 civil defamation lawsuit against Maxwell by Virginia Giuffre, who said she was underage when Epstein kept her as a “sex slave” with Maxwell’s assistance….

A CHILD’S VOICE exposed “elite” paedophile networks before Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell were known publicly, showing the Satanic nature of the people running in these circles. This movie was a top performing film and gained a surge in views over the past month due to #Wayfair and #Maxwell stories. Amazon said it will not allow the film to be resubmitted on their platform. MUST LISTEN message from my friend John Paul Rice You may remember him from the film “Remember The Titans”. He then went on to make several wonderfully written, directed and produced independent films – He was well embedded in Hollywood and he knows their game. Amazon has unpublished his film, A CHILD’S VOICE in the US, UK and 70+ countries worldwide. NO explanation. No notice. This film deals with the subject of human trafficking and child satanic abuse. You can still see the film on Vimeo [below] To learn more about his production company and their films visit https://www.norestrictionsent.com/ #SaveTheChildren #StopTheMadness – Robin Elizabeth Basil
