Travellers in Greenbank View: Threat to Bristol’s ‘van-dwellers’ as council and police draw up enforcement policy. Interviews with neighbour Alva and Travellers David who lives in a vehicle and Sam in a canal boat. Helen Holland bins and toilets. Greenbank View is the epicentre of the Bristol housing crisis since squatting residential property. Outsiders have been causing trouble, squatting was a safety valve, they’ve taken it away. Travellers now have no political clout because they generally don’t vote. They propose several sites across the city that travellers can move around to. The problem is growing but the eviction is just moving the problem elsewhere. Anonymous Afghan refugee has been housed by St Mungo’s in Kensington House, St George but many other residents are using crack cocaine and heroin and alcohol and serous mental problems which is an extremely dangerous environment for vulnerable people.
