EXCLUSIVE: Tragic Jill Dando probed BBC PAEDO ring – MURDERED TV presenter Jill Dando tried to expose a paedophile ring involving “big-name” BBC stars, a former colleague has claimed. According to the retired BBC worker, the Crimewatch host was told that DJs, stars and corporation staff were involved in organised abuse. But when she tried to get bosses to investigate the alleged ring and other abuse complaints inside the BBC “no one wanted to know”, the former friend said. Undeterred, Jill is said to have then raised the claims with senior management in the mid-1990s but no investigation took place. The TV host was shot dead a few years later on the doorstep of her London home. The 37-year-old’s murder remains unsolved. Her ex-colleague, who asked to remain anonymous, said: “I don’t recall the names of all the stars now and don’t really want to implicate anyone but Jill said they were surprisingly big names. “I think she was quite shocked when told about images of children and that information on how to join this horrible paedophile ring was freely available. “Jill said others had complained to her about sexual matters and that some fellow female workmates also claimed they had been groped or assaulted. “Nothing had been done and there seemed to be a policy of turning a blind eye.” The source told how female colleagues went to Jill, who was then one of the best-known faces on TV. She said: “I think it was in the mid 1990s, Jill was working on almost everything then including Crimewatch and Holiday. “She was seen as the face of the BBC and a magnet for women with problems. “She compiled a file of complaints but she was not really an investigative journalist, just a presenter. “She passed the information to someone else and they gave it back. No one wanted to know. “I do remember that she gave a file to senior management. I don’t think she heard any more. “Other women who complained told Jill they didn’t want to risk their careers by making official statements against individuals as they would lose their jobs and that bosses seemed to ignore it. “We all decided the best way was to keep our heads down and to always try to go somewhere with a colleague.” The BBC said it would look into the allegations but added: “We have not seen anything to substantiate these claims.” Presenters Liz Kershaw and Miriam O’Reilly have both made allegations of sexual harassment at the BBC. After Jimmy Savile was exposed as a paedophile and serial sex attacker in 2012, fellow BBC presenter Sally Jones spoke of how he had tried to grope her in a lift. She confided in Jill after the attack, adding that the Crimewatch host said “she had had to fend off plenty of unwelcome advances herself”. Sally said Jill told her Savile was “just a dirty old perv”. Jill was shot dead on the doorstep of her home in Fulham in 1999. Barry George was found guilty of her murder in 2001 but his conviction was quashed in 2008.

The unidentified person was caught on CCTV following the gunman’s likely escape route after the Crimewatch presenter had been shot dead in 1999. It bore the hallmarks of a professional hit. Facial comparison expert Emi Polito has now found a number of similarities between “Man X” in the CCTV and twice-convicted murderer Milorad Ulemek, who is serving 40 years in a Serbian prison. At the time Jill was killed, the 56-year-old led a feared squad of hitmen responsible for targeting opponents of brutal dictator Slobodan Milosevic. ITV – HMS Trent seized cocaine and crew on boat – why not migrants? Royal Navy: HMS Trent seizes huge £290m cocaine haul after high-speed boat chases near US Virgin Islands Sailors, Royal Marines and a US Coast Guard (USCG) team aboard HMS Trent intercepted and boarded a suspected smuggling speedboat south of the US Virgin Islands. The smugglers fled towards land and began jettisoning their illegal cargo into the sea. The offshore patrol vessel’s team and American counterparts used fast sea boats and a patrol aircraft. A total of 94 bales of class-a narcotics, weighing 2,757kg and worth £220.56m, was initially recovered. This was HMS Trent’s second drugs bust in the space of three weeks. Personnel previously seized £70.1m of cocaine in a separate operation in January – pouncing on an unsuspecting team of criminals under the cover of darkness. Smugglers tried to offload their illegal cargo, but Royal Marines coxswains and the USCG boarding team took control of the vessel and detained four crew members. HMS Trent’s 60-strong crew scoured the ocean for the abandoned cargo, and eventually retrieved 29 cocaine bales that weigh 876kg, The drugs were discovered after extensive ten-hour search across 24 square miles. Commanding Officer Commander Tim Langford said: “The achievements of this ship and her crew in the last nine months have been spectacular, and it is brilliant to see the hard work and dedication of this amazing team paying off. Having already achieved a hugely successful deployment to Africa in the second half of last year, I am delighted that our shift to Atlantic Patrol (North) tasking has been heralded by such a significant seizure of narcotics. The team is rightly proud of their efforts, and those of our USCG colleagues.” A marine of 47 Commando, who cannot be named for operational reasons, was driving one of the pursuing sea boats which chased the smugglers. They said: “This was a challenging operation and required us to push the boats to their limit. Despite their best efforts to evade us, and with our boats and the ship bearing down on them at speed, the 38ft go-fast finally gave up the chase and we were able to get alongside and enable members of the US Coast Guard to seize the vessel.”

Continuation of ground rents for 20 years ‘disappointing’, CIH says The Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) has said that reports of leaseholders having to pay ground rents for another 20 years are “disappointing”. However, the member body said a planned £250 per year cap “will provide some protection and certainty”. In addition, leasehold campaigner Harry Scoffin described a cap as a “huge win”, while the National Leasehold Campaign (NLC) said it does not go far enough to help leaseholders. It emerged in the Sunday Times over the weekend that millions of leaseholders will continue to pay ground rent for 20 years after housing secretary Michael Gove’s reform plans were watered down. The paper said the decision was as a result of resistance from the Treasury. In a concession, according to the report, prime minister Rishi Sunak overruled the exchequer and is set to announce a cap of £250 per year for leaseholders paying ground rent. The changes will be incorporated into the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Bill, which reached committee stage in the House of Lords this week. It comes after the government consultation on ground rents, launched in November, included capping the charge at a peppercorn rate for existing leaseholders. The Leasehold Reform (Ground Rent) Act 2022 means that if any ground rent is demanded as part of a new residential long lease, it cannot be charged at more than the cost of one peppercorn per year – effectively setting the rate to zero. However, this currently only applies to new leases. Mr Gove said the consultation was launched to help protect those leaseholders who can be faced with ground rent clauses in their leases, which result in spiralling payments with no benefit in return. He said the changes would deliver on the government’s manifesto commitment to create a fairer system for millions of leaseholders. James Prestwich, director of policy and external affairs at the CIH, said the ground rents news was “disappointing”. He said: “As CIH set out in our housing manifesto, the government should use the opportunity of legislation to fundamentally reform the leasehold system, building on the Law Commission’s recommendations, which benefits existing as well as prospective owners. “Given the 2017 Conservative Party manifesto commitment to reduce ground rents to zero, the idea that current leaseholders will need to continue to pay ground rents well into the future is disappointing, though the anticipated introduction of a £250 per annum cap will provide some protection and certainty.

Hastings Borough Council: Leader and five other councillors quit Labour Council leader Paul Barnett was among those who resigned The leader of Hastings Borough Council, and five other councillors, have resigned from the Labour Party and set up an independent group. They said the party no longer provided the “policies, support or focus on local government” they needed. A Labour spokesman said the councillors’ “performative gesture politics has driven the council to the brink of bankruptcy”. Council officers have previously warned that the authority faces bankruptcy. Along with leader Paul Barnett, the other councillors to leave the party are: Maya Evans, Andy Batsford, John Cannan, Ali Roark and Simon Willis. Conservative group leader Andy Patmore said: “The council is facing bankruptcy and it seems these councillors are not willing to take responsibility for their actions. “Their residents and the town deserve better. They should all resign their council seats so that by-elections can be held in their wards and new representatives can be elected.” Speaking to BBC Radio Sussex, Mr Batsford said: “People don’t have to step down when they change a party”. Mr Batsford said in local elections the public “vote for people who work hard in their communities.”

The demonstration, held one block away from the home of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, came just hours before the Senate overwhelmingly approved a $95 billion foreign aid package that includes about $17 billion in arms and security funding to Israel. “Too many of our people are worshiping a false idol,” said award-winning author and activist Naomi Klein, one of several speakers at Tuesday’s rally. “They are enraptured by it. They are drunk on it. They are profaned by it. And that false idol is called Zionism.” So, tonight — so, look around. This here is our Judaism. As waters rise and forests burn and nothing is certain, we pray at the altar of solidarity and mutual aid, no matter the cost. We don’t need or want the false idol of Zionism. We want freedom from the project that commits genocide in our name. We want freedom from the ideology that has no plan for peace, except for deals with the murderous, theocratic petrostates next door, while selling the technologies of robo-assassinations to the world. More than 100 pro-Palestinian demonstrators who had camped out on Columbia’s green were arrested last week, and similar encampments have sprouted up at universities around the country as schools struggle with where to draw the line between allowing free expression while maintaining safe and inclusive campuses. At New York University, an encampment set up by students swelled to hundreds of protesters throughout the day Monday. The school said it warned the crowd to leave, then called in the police after the scene became disorderly and the university said it learned of reports of “intimidating chants and several antisemitic incidents.” Shortly after 8:30 p.m., officers began making arrests. “It’s a really outrageous crackdown by the university to allow the police to arrest students on our own campus,” said New York University law student Byul Yoon.

Burmese Military Forcibly Recruiting Rohingya Over 1,000 Abducted in Violation of Conscription Law, Prohibition on Child Soldiers (Bangkok) – The Myanmar military has abducted and forcibly recruited more than 1,000 Rohingya Muslim men and boys from across Rakhine State since February 2024, Human Rights Watch said today. The junta is using a conscription law that only applies to Myanmar citizens, although the Rohingya have long been denied citizenship under the 1982 Citizenship Law. Rohingya described being picked up in nighttime raids, coerced with false promises of citizenship, and threatened with arrest, abduction, and beatings. The military has been sending Rohingya to abusive training for two weeks, then deploying them. Many have been sent to the front lines in the surging fighting between the junta and the Arakan Army armed group, which broke out in Rakhine State in November 2023, and a number have been killed and injured. “It’s appalling to see Myanmar’s military, which has committed atrocities against the Rohingya for decades while denying them citizenship, now forcing them to fight on its behalf,” said Shayna Bauchner, Asia researcher at Human Rights Watch. “The junta should immediately end this forced recruitment and permit Rohingya unlawfully conscripted to return home.” Human Rights Watch documented 11 cases of forced recruitment, drawing on interviews with 25 Rohingya from Sittwe, Maungdaw, Buthidaung, Pauktaw, and Kyauktaw townships in Rakhine State and in Bangladesh.

Indigenous people in Brazil march to demand land recognition Thousands of Indigenous people marched in Brazil’s capital to demand the demarcation of their lands. Brazilian indigenous from the Pataxo ethnic group march in Brasilia as part of the Acampamento Terra Livre (Free Land Camp) Thousands of Indigenous people marched in Brazil’s capital, calling on the government to officially recognise lands they have lived on for centuries and to protect territories from criminal activities such as illegal mining. With posters bearing messages such as “The future is Indigenous”, they walked on Thursday towards Three Powers Square, where Congress, the Supreme Court and the Planalto presidential palace are located in Brasilia. A group of Indigenous leaders entered the palace to talk to President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, while others shouted outside the building: “Our rights are not negotiable.” Last week, he backed down from the creation of four Indigenous territories, citing opposition from state governors. In addition to calls for more land recognition, some tribes protested a proposed 950km (590 miles) rail project to transport soybeans from the state of Mato Grosso, in the central part of the country, to ports along the Tapajos River, a large Amazon tributary. Indigenous leaders from the Kayapo, Panara and Munduruku tribes said they had not been adequately consulted and feared the new infrastructure would lead to increased deforestation. Thursday’s rally marked the culmination of the annual Free Land Indigenous Camp, now in its 20th edition. Unlike the two previous years, the president was not invited to visit the camp, set up in Brasilia’s main esplanade. “There is political instability, disrespect and mistrust,” Marivelton Bare, head of the Rio Negro Federation of Indigenous Organizations, told The Associated Press news agency during the march. “We expected a lot from the government, but it’s doing very little. We knew that Congress would be hostile, but not as much as it has been. And in Congress, the government is using the Indigenous and environmental issues as bargaining chips,” added Bare, whose organisation represents 24 Indigenous tribes from the northwestern part of Brazil’s Amazon. Previously president between 2003 and 2010, Lula began a third term last January. Since then, his administration has created 10 Indigenous territories, which leaders say is not enough. According to the non-profit Socio-Environmental Institute, at least 251 territories have pending claims for recognition before the federal government. Indigenous territories comprise about 13 percent of Brazil’s territory. Most of these areas are in the Amazon rainforest. Even at a slow pace, Lula’s demarcations represent a stark contrast to that of his predecessor, Jair Bolsonaro, who kept his promise not to create a single centimetre of additional Indigenous land. However, Indigenous demands face mounting opposition from the powerful agribusiness sector, which has the support of hundreds of Congress members and several governors across the country.

One of very many revelations in Ilan’s latest book is in the form of a statement made by David Ben-Gurion, Israel’s founding father, in a letter to his son. It was written in 1937. “The Arabs will have to go”, Ben-Gurion wrote, “but one needs an opportune moment for making it happen, such as war.” Like all Israelis, Ilan was brought up, conditioned, to believe Zionism’s version of the history of the making and sustaining of the Arab-Israeli conflict. It wasn’t until he went to England to continue his academic studies that he had access to documentation which enabled him to understand that Zionism’s version is a propaganda lie. For his books and his public speaking, Ilan is respected and admired by many people around the world with the exception, of course, of supporters of Israel right or wrong and Zionists in particular.

David Livingstone – Jewish eschatology – his new book out ‘Zionism: History of a Jewish Heresy’ – Zionists have deviously claimed the right to represent the Jewish people, victims of the horrific atrocities of the Holocaust, to excuse relevant criticism of the abhorrent actions of the State of Israel as anti-Semitic. The truth is, that Zionism is not a religious movement, but a nationalistic one. It is inspired by a heresy of Judaism, which, though initially marginalized, had gained increasing influence in recent centuries, effectively stifling the voices of traditional Judaism. Rooted in the Kabbalah, a mystical tradition of Judaism, it originated in Babylon in the sixth century BC, and influenced the rise of ancient Gnosticism. Having been preserved through occult trends in Islam, it was transposed to Europe during the Crusades, resulting in the legends of the Holy Grail. A crucial development was the Kabbalah of Isaac Luria, shaped in the sixteenth century, which inspired the mission of Shabbetai Zevi, who was enthusiastically accepted as the messiah by half of the Jewish population of the world in 1666, before the catastrophic disappointment of his final conversion to Islam. Nevertheless, some of his devoted followers persisted, particularly through the quasi-Masonic secret society known as the Asiatic Brethren. From their influence arose the modern movements of Reform and Conservative Judaism, from which Zionism emerged. Paradoxically, the same influences also contributed to the development German Romanticism of the early nineteenth century, and the Occult Revival of later in the same century, which produced Theosophy, Synarchism and Ariosophy, which provided the foundations for the racist doctrines of the Nazis.
