AFFIDAVIT OF RICHARD TOMLINSON (On the Murder of Princess Diana)

Affidavit given by Richard Tomlinson to Judge H. Stephan (Paris, France) May, 1999

Attached below is a sworn and testified statement that I have made on 12th May 1999 to the enquiry into the deaths of the Princess of Wales, Dodi Al Fayed, and Henri Paul. I firmly believe that MI6 have information in their files that would assist Judge Stephan’s enquiry.

Why don’t they yield up this information? They should not be entitled to use the Official Secrets Act to protect themselves from investigation into the deaths of three people, particularly in the case of an incident of this magnitude and historical importance.

1.. I firmly believe that there exist documents held by the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) that would yield important new evidence into the cause and circumstances leading to the deaths of the Princess of Wales, Mr Dodi Al Fayed, and M. Henri Paul in Paris in August 1997.

2.. I was employed by MI6 between September 1991 and April 1995. During that time, I saw various documents that I believe would provide new evidence and new leads into the investigation into these deaths. I also heard various rumours which though I was not able to see supporting documents I am confident were based on solid fact.

3.. In 1992, I was working in the Eastern European Controllerate of MI6 and I was peripherally involved in a large and complicated operation to smuggle advanced Soviet weaponry out of the then disintegrating and disorganised remnants of the Soviet Union. During 1992, I spent several days reading the substantial files on this operation. These files contain a wide miscellany of contact notes, telegrams, intelligence reports, photographs etc, from which it was possible to build up a detailed understanding of the operation. The operation involved a large cast of officers and agents of MI6. On more than one occasion, meetings between various figures in the operation took place at the Ritz Hotel, Place de Vendome, Paris. There were in the file several intelligence reports on these meetings, which had been written by one of the MI6 officers based in Paris at the time (identified in the file only by a coded designation). The source of the information was an informant in the Ritz Hotel, who again was identified in the files only by a code number. The MI6 officer paid the informant in cash for his information. I became curious to learn more about the identity of this particular informant, because his number cropped up several times and he seemed to have extremely good access to the goings on in the Ritz Hotel. I therefore ordered this informants personal file from MI6’s central file registry.

When I read this new file, I was not at all surprised to learn that the informant was a security officer of the Ritz Hotel. Intelligence services always target the security officers of important hotels because they have such good access to intelligence. I remember, however, being mildly surprised that the nationality of this informant was French, and this stuck in my memory, because it is rare that MI6 succeeds in recruiting a French informer. I cannot claim that I remember from this reading of the file that the name of this person was Henri Paul, but I have no doubt with the benefit of hindsight that this was he. Although I did not subsequently come across Henri Paul again during my time in MI6, I am confident that the relationship between he and MI6 would have continued until his death, because MI6 would never willingly relinquish control over such a well placed informant. I am sure that the personal file of Henri Paul will therefore contain notes of meetings between him and his MI6 controlling officer right up until the point of his death. I firmly believe that these files will contain evidence of crucial importance to the circumstances and causes of the incident that killed M. Paul, together with the Princess of Wales and Dodi Al Fayed.

4.. The most senior undeclared officer in the local MI6 station would normally control an informant of M. Paul’s usefulness and seniority. Officers declared to the local counter-intelligence service (in this case the Directorate de Surveillance Territoire, or DST) would not be used to control such an informant, because it might lead to the identity of the informant becoming known to the local intelligence services. In Paris at the time of M. Paul’s death, there were two relatively experienced but undeclared MI6 officers. The first was Mr Nicholas John Andrew LANGMAN, born 1960. The second was Mr Richard David SPEARMAN, again born in 1960. I firmly believe that either one or both of these officers will be well acquainted with M Paul, and most probably also met M. Paul shortly before his death. I believe that either or both of these officers will have knowledge that will be of crucial importance in establishing the sequence of events leading up to the deaths of M.Paul, Dodi Al Fayed and the Princess of Wales. Mr Spearman in particular was an extremely well connected and influential officer, because he had been, prior to his appointment in Paris, the personal secretary to the Chief of MI6 Mr David SPEDDING. As such, he would have been privy to even the most confidential of MI6 operations. I believe that there may well be significance in the fact that Mr Spearman was posted to Paris in the month immediately before the deaths.

5.. Later in 1992, as the civil war in the former Yugoslavia became increasingly topical, I started to work primarily on operations in Serbia. During this time, I became acquainted with Dr Nicholas Bernard Frank FISHWICK, born 1958, the MI6 officer who at the time was in charge of planning Balkan operations. During one meeting with Dr Fishwick, he casually showed to me a three-page document that on closer inspection turned out to be an outline plan to assassinate the Serbian leader President Slobodan Milosevic. The plan was fully typed, and attached to a yellow “minute board”, signifying that this was a formal and accountable document. It will therefore still be in existence. Fishwick had annotated that the document be circulated to the following senior MI6 officers: Maurice KENDWRICK-PIERCEY, then head of Balkan operations, John RIDDE, then the security officer for Balkan operations, the SAS liaison officer to MI6 (designation MODA/SO, but I have forgotten his name), the head of the Eastern European Controllerate (then Richard FLETCHER) and finally Alan PETTY, the personal secretary to the then Chief of MI6, Colin McCOLL. This plan contained a political justification for the assassination of Milosevic, followed by three outline proposals on how to achieve this objective. I firmly believe that the third of these scenarios contained information that could be useful in establishing the causes of death of Henri Paul, the Princess of Wales, and Dodi Al Fayed. This third scenario suggested that Milosevic could be assassinated by causing his personal limousine to crash. Dr Fishwick proposed to arrange the crash in a tunnel, because the proximity of concrete close to the road would ensure that the crash would be sufficiently violent to cause death or serious injury, and would also reduce the possibility that there might be independent, casual witnesses. Dr Fishwick suggested that one way to cause the crash might be to disorientate the chauffeur using a strobe flash gun, a device which is occasionally deployed by special forces to, for example, disorientate helicopter pilots or terrorists, and about which MI6 officers are briefed about during their training. In short, this scenario bore remarkable similarities to the circumstances and witness accounts of the crash that killed the Princess of Wales, Dodi Al Fayed, and Henri Paul. I firmly believe that this document should be yielded by MI6 to the Judge investigating these deaths, and would provide further leads that he could follow.

6.. During my service in MI6, I also learnt unofficially and second-hand something of the links between MI6 and the Royal Household. MI6 are frequently and routinely asked by the Royal Household (usually via the Foreign Office) to provide intelligence on potential threats to members of the Royal Family whilst on overseas trips. This service would frequently extend to asking friendly intelligence services (such as the CIA) to place members of the Royal Family under discrete surveillance, ostensibly for their own protection. This was particularly the case for the Princess of Wales, who often insisted on doing without overt personal protection, even on overseas trips. Although contact between MI6 and the Royal Household was officially only via the Foreign Office, I learnt while in MI6 that there was unofficial direct contact between certain senior and influential MI6 officers and senior members of the Royal Household. I did not see any official papers on this subject, but I am confident that the information is correct. I firmly believe that MI6 documents would yield substantial leads on the nature of their links with the Royal Household, and would yield vital information about MI6 surveillance on the Princess of Wales in the days leading to her death.

7.. I also learnt while in MI6 that one of the “paparazzi” photographers who routinely followed the Princess of Wales was a member of “UKN”, a small corps of part-time MI6 agents who provide miscellaneous services to MI6 such as surveillance and photography expertise. I do not know the identity of this photographer, or whether he was one of the photographers present at the time of the fatal incident. However, I am confident that examination of UKN records would yield the identity of this photographer, and would enable the inquest to eliminate or further investigate that potential line of enquiry.

8.. On Friday August 28 1998, I gave much of this information to Judge Herve Stephan, the French investigative Judge in charge of the inquest into the accident. The lengths which MI6, the CIA and the DST have taken to deter me giving this evidence and subsequently to stop me talking about it, suggests that they have something to hide.

9.. On Friday 31 July 1998, shortly before my appointment with Judge Herve Stephan, the DST arrested me in my Paris hotel room. Although I have no record of violent conduct I was arrested with such ferocity and at gunpoint that I received a broken rib. I was taken to the headquarters of the DST, and interrogated for 38 hours. Despite my repeated requests, I was never given any justification for the arrest and was not shown the arrest warrant. Even though I was released without charge, the DST confiscated from me my laptop computer and Psion organiser. They illegally gave these to MI6 who took them back to the UK. They were not returned for six months, which is illegal and caused me great inconvenience and financial cost.

10.. On Friday 7th August 1998 I boarded a Qantas flight at Auckland International airport, New Zealand, for a flight to Sydney, Australia where I was due to give a television interview to the Australian Channel Nine television company. I was in my seat, awaiting take off, when an official boarded the plane and told me to get off. At the airbridge, he told me that the airline had received a fax “from Canberra” saying that there was a problem with my travel papers. I immediately asked to see the fax, but I was told that “it was not possible”. I believe that this is because it didn’t exist. This action was a ploy to keep me in New Zealand so that the New Zealand police could take further action against me. I had been back in my Auckland hotel room for about half an hour when the New Zealand police and NZSIS, the New Zealand Secret Intelligence Service, raided me. After being detained and searched for about three hours, they eventually confiscated from me all my remaining computer equipment that the French DST had not succeeded in taking from me. Again, I didn’t get some of these items back until six months later.

11.. Moreover, shortly after I had given this evidence to Judge Stephan, I was invited to talk about this evidence in a live television interview on America’s NBC television channel. I flew from Geneva to JFK airport on Sunday 30 August to give the interview in New York on the following Monday morning. Shortly after arrival at John F Kennedy airport, the captain of the Swiss Air flight told all passengers to return to their seats. Four US Immigration authority officers entered the plane, came straight to my seat, asked for my passport and identity, and then frog marched me off the plane. I was taken to the immigration detention centre, photographed, fingerprinted, manacled by my ankle to a chair for seven hours, served with deportation papers (exhibit 1) and then returned on the next available plane to Geneva. I was not allowed to make any telephone calls to the representatives of NBC awaiting me in the airport. The US Immigration Officers – who were all openly sympathetic to my situation and apologised for treating me so badly – openly admitted that they were acting under instructions from the CIA.

12.. In January of this year, I booked a chalet in the village of Samoens in the French Alps for a ten day snowboarding holiday with my parents. I picked up my parents from Geneva airport in a hire car on the evening of January 8, and set off for the French border. At the French customs post, our car was stopped and I was detained. Four officers from the DST held me for four hours. At the end of this interview, I was served with the deportation papers below (exhibit 2), and ordered to return to Switzerland. Note that in the papers, my supposed destination has been changed from “Chamonix” to “Samoens”. This is because when first questioned by a junior DST officer, I told him that my destination was “Chamonix”. When a senior officer arrived an hour or so later, he crossed out the word and changed it to “Samoens”, without ever even asking or confirming this with me. I believe this is because MI6 had told them of my true destination, having learnt the information through surveillance on my parent’s telephone in the UK. My banning from France is entirely illegal under European law. I have a British passport and am entitled to travel freely within the European Union. MI6 have “done a deal” with the DST to have me banned, and have not used any recognised legal mechanism to deny my rights to freedom of travel. I believe that the DST and MI6 have banned me from France because they wanted to prevent me from giving further evidence to Judge Stephan’s inquest, which at the time, I was planning to do.

13.. Whatever MI6s role in the events leading to the death of the Princess of Wales, Dodi Al Fayed and Henri Paul, I am absolutely certain that there is substantial evidence in their files that would provide crucial evidence in establishing the exact causes of this tragedy. I believe that they have gone to considerable lengths to obstruct the course of justice by interfering with my freedom of speech and travel, and this in my view confirms my belief that they have something to hide. I believe that the protection given to MI6 files under the Official Secrets Act should be set aside in the public interest in uncovering once and for all the truth behind these dramatic and historically momentous events.

 

Covid vaccine: Dozens of families damaged by rare reaction to AstraZeneca jab launch legal fight

Dozens of patients and families whose lives have been damaged by extremely rare reactions to the Oxford/AstraZeneca covid vaccine have launched legal action against the pharmaceutical company.

While the vaccine is widely credited with protecting many millions of people from the virus, 81 patients died and 364 suffered severe reactions, some of them resulting in catastrophic injuries as a result of blood clots caused by the jab. Legal action is now being taken against AstraZeneca by the families of 19 people who died after being vaccinated and 54 patients who suffered severe reactions but survived.

Strokes, paralysis and repeated blood clots are among the symptoms of those who suffered very rare but severe reactions to the vaccine. Many have gone from being fit and healthy to being left struggling to walk and talk, with little hope of getting better.

The latest NHS advice is that Covid-19 vaccination is safe and effective and that it gives people the best protection against Covid-19. NHS advice states: Anyone who gets Covid-19 can become seriously ill or have long-term effects. The Covid-19 vaccines are the best way to protect yourself and others.

In autumn this year, people at higher risk of severe Covid could be offered a booster vaccine dose in preparation for winter 2023-24. For a smaller group of people, such as the elderly and immunosuppressed, an extra booster vaccine dose is already being offered this spring.

The 54 members of the class action group who survived the reaction have been diagnosed as having vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT), a rare condition that has been identified after Covid-19 vaccination.

Lawyers representing the group, who are pursuing personal injury compensation in addition to a Vaccine Damage Payments Scheme claim, argue that the AstraZeneca vaccine was ‘not as safe as the public were entitled to expect’ and that the case is not about finding fault ‘but about the reasonable expectation of safety’. They claim people were provided with a false picture of safety and efficacy and expect the number joining the lawsuit to increase.

Vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia affects approximately 1 in 50,000 AstraZeneca vaccine recipients under 50 years old, and one in 100,000 for those aged 50 and older in England, according to the NHS, which says the effect of the blood clots can be devastating.

AstraZeneca vaccinations were first administered on 4 January, 2021 as part of a rapid rollout of jabs by the NHS. Just a few weeks earlier, Margaret Keenan, 90, had become the first person in the world to receive the Pfizer jab following its clinical approval. By September 2022, almost 25 million first doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine and 27.2 million of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine had been administered in the UK. Around 50 million AstraZeneca doses have been given in total.

As part of the drive to get vaccines developed and on the market quickly, the UK Government had early in the pandemic granted the pharmaceutical giants a legal indemnity protecting them from being sued by patients in the event of any complications. This means that if AstraZeneca has to pay compensation it will be covered by the taxpayer.

The Vaccine Damage Payments Scheme (VDPS) has received 4,017 applications for compensation of which 1,013 have, as of 6 March, been resolved. Of those, 622 related to the AstraZeneca vaccine, 348 for the Pfizer vaccine and 43 for the Moderna vaccine, according to a Freedom of Information request published by the NHS Business Authority this week. All of the claims relate to disability.

Health minister, Maria Caulfield, told Parliament last month that 48 VDPS claims had been successful. All of them are understood to relate to the AstraZeneca vaccine. ‘Medical reasons’ were cited for the majority of cases being rejected. The number of administration staff working for the scheme has increased from four to 80 in recent months as the Government aims to speed up the process.

The scheme provides a one-off tax free payment, currently £120,000, to successful applicants where a vaccine has caused severe disablement. It does not prejudice the right of the disabled person to pursue a claim for damages through the courts. To qualify for a payment, an applicant needs to establish that they meet two main criteria: on the balance of probabilities, the vaccine caused disability, and that the resulting disablement is severe, classified as 60 per cent or more.

UK’s first Covid-19 vaccine

The Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine was the first to be approved for use in the UK with the Government ordering 100 million doses for use in its vaccination programme.

The vast majority of people had the vaccine without suffering complications, but within months reports emerged that a small number of people developed blood clots in combination with low platelet levels, called thrombocytopenia, after receiving a dose.

In April 2021, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) confirmed a possible link between the AstraZeneca vaccine and these rare blood clots, but emphasised that the benefits of the vaccine continued to outweigh the risks for the vast majority of people. The cases of blood clots that the MHRA reviewed were accompanied by abnormally low levels of platelets in the blood.

The following month, the UK’s Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation recommended under-40s were offered an alternative to the AstraZeneca vaccine due to the extra risk of serious side effects in younger people. Countries around the world had already suspended its use by this stage.

In 2022, the JCVI did not recommend using the AstraZeneca vaccine for the UK’s booster campaigns and the Government confirmed it would not order any more doses.

It is no longer used in the UK. It has been used in several other countries around the world, but it is uncertain if any stocks are still being used.

The lawyers are calling upon the Government to ‘appropriately support’ the vaccine injured and bereaved. Pre-action protocol letters have been sent to the Cambridge-based Anglo-Swedish company, which has yet to formally respond to the claims. Lawyers representing the AstraZeneca claimants expect more people to join the lawsuit given that more than 400 people have been recorded as suffering from blood clots.

Peter Todd, consultant solicitor with Scott-Moncrieff & Associates Ltd, is representing 33 of the claimants and told i: ‘According to the MHRA, in the UK up to 23 November, 2022, there had been 445 reports of major blood clots (thrombosis) with concurrent low platelets (thrombocytopenia) reported after AstraZeneca Covid vaccine, including, tragically, 81 deaths.

‘These include strokes, heart attacks, amputations and other major life-changing injuries. This is an unusually large number of very serious injuries to have been caused by a vaccine. We expect to be able to establish in court that these clots were likely caused by the vaccine.’

Mr Todd, who acted for 86 people with narcolepsy as a result of the 2009 pandemic swine flu vaccine, added: ‘We have started an action against AstraZeneca UK Ltd seeking damages for injury and consequential loss for a group so far comprised of 77 such claimants, under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, contending that the vaccine was not as safe as the public were entitled to expect.

‘This is not about fault but about the reasonable expectation of safety. People were told that the vaccine was safe and they relied on such statements at face value. However they have suffered life-changing injury. The Government agreed to indemnify Astra Zeneca against these claims and we call upon the Government to appropriately support the vaccine injured and bereaved as well.’

Officials said they could not comment on ongoing legal proceedings.

This pipe dream pipeline run euphemistically on ‘low carbon heat’ is currently touted to cost around £100m out of the £200m or so the private sector may invest in ‘decarbonisation’ in Bristol. Because the best way to get to net zero is definitely to burn – in working class Avonmouth – shitloads of polluting rubbish imported from London then use the energy to cheaply power a heat network for wealthy folk in the centre .- – Before the City Leap deal ascended to the Reverend and his cabinet of all the chumps for rubber stamping, a cross party scrutiny committee got to take look at some of it. Comments by councillors at this meeting were not positive. Among the complaints: * That the committee’s comments and questions over a period of years have not received adequate answers; * Every scrutiny meeting listed in the final report was either delayed, deferred or cancelled and reorganised; * Money spent on advice and procurement has been around £10million dwarfing the concession payments of £2.3m we may receive over five years from City Leap; * Scrutiny members were denied access to the detailed agreement with private partner Ameresco. How do you scrutinise something you can’t see? Enormous complexity’s involved. If something goes wrong, trying to enforce a secret agreement is difficult; * What happens to the loss in Bristol Heat Networks? Up to 31 March 2022 there was a £1m loss according to documents at Companies House. No member has been briefed on the loss. Who’s paying? The council taxpayer? Private sector partners? Councillors got no answers. Instead cabinet member, Kye “The” Dudd openly laughed in their faces.

PLANNING ‘FREE FOR ALL’ ON FIELD BY BUSINESS WEST HQ: Planning permission granted to make a field allotments. Developments and planning. Council tells allotment company Roots to stop work after residents’ revolt A company wanting to create a huge allotment on the edge of Bristol have been told to stop work and wait until council planners have decided if they need planning permission or not, after local residents physically blocked tractors and lorries from accessing the field this week. Council representatives visited the field on Wednesday this week, which is on the main A369 road through Abbots Leigh at the corner of the turning into Leigh Woods. They said they have told Roots Allotments, which already run two commercial allotment sites in Bath, that they should not do anything until the planning decisions have been made. A spokesperson for North Somerset Council said planning officers have advised Roots that they should not do anything more until the legal arguments over whether they have to go through a full planning application process first are completed. Roots’ bosses spoke of their frustration this week that North Somerset Council has not yet made a decision on whether to give them a Certificate of Lawful Use, or tell them they need to submit a full planning application, and have missed a couple of deadlines on when they have to make a decision. On Monday, a single local resident tried to prevent workers from cutting a new access point through onto the lane to Leigh Woods, and on Thursday morning, the police were called to confrontations between Roots bosses and local residents, when a lorry arrived to try to offload a shipping container into the field. That stand-off lasted much of the day, and ended with the shipping container being taken away again. 

Bus cuts in Bristol. Long economic depression coming.   Bristol bus cuts: Residents feel ‘stuck’ on estate after last service is cut “We are really, really stuck.” Bristol is the only major city in Britain that has working class communities with no bus services, and the situation is ‘shocking’, a veteran transport campaigner said, as people in one part of Bristol now cut off from the rest of the city begin yet another campaign to get their bus service back. The most recent and biggest set of cuts to bus services, announced by First Bus and the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) earlier this year, finally and fully kicked in this week. Some passengers have reported being unable to get to work and school, with some communities left with no bus services at all. In Ashton Vale, a council estate originally built mainly for the elderly and disabled, residents there said they felt discriminated against after First Bus scrapped their only bus service, and council travel chiefs left them out of a replacement scheme called WestLink which sees people use an app on a smart phone to order a bus service. The damning verdict on Bristol’s bus services, and how it has disproportionately affected working class communities in the city, came from David Redgewell, a veteran campaigner and advocate for transport and disability issues. At Bristol City Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Management committee on Tuesday this week, he slammed WECA for leaving entire communities behind.

And I think it will have a chilling effect on effective government and the British people pay the price. “I think if ministers can’t ask direct questions – without shouting, swearing or losing your temper – if we can’t probe if we can’t scrutinise how do we deliver for the British people?” Mr Raab said “almost all” of the complaints against him were dismissed.

The decision was sent to Defender on Monday that she was to take innocent passage through those waters,’ they said.

The former director admitted to messaging around 200 individual staff members at the company but insisted it was to try and build ‘rapport’ during lockdown and with colleagues who continued to work from home.

In this case, that message will make clear that it is just a test. But in future, that could include important, urgent information such as warnings about fires or floods. The test and the feature could therefore be critical to keeping people safe in an emergency. But some organisations have expressed fears that the test could actually endanger some people. Those at risk of domestic or sexual abuse may have hidden phones, for instance, and the loud alert could draw attention to those devices. For anyone at risk, it is possible to switch the feature off quickly and easily. It is turned on by default, meaning that any device that is switched on and has not gone through this process will receive the message on Sunday. It is very important to note that the switch to turn off both test alerts and real ones is the same: there is no way to only disable it for Sunday. As such, it might be worth leaving it on unless there is an important reason to turn it off and if you do switch it off, it could be worth setting a reminder to switch it back on again afterwards. With that said, it is easy to turn the feature off, and just as easy to turn it back on again. the system to do so depends a little on what device you are using. Nato leaders said in 2008 that Ukraine would join the alliance one day, and Mr Stoltenberg has repeated that promise throughout the war, though the organisation has established no pathway or timetable for membership. It comes after Mr Stoltenberg yesterday pledged continued support for the country during his first visit to Kyiv since Russia’s invasion just over a year ago. “Let me be clear, Ukraine’s rightful place is in the Euro-Atlantic family,” he told a news conference. “Ukraine’s rightful place is in Nato.” So far, Nato allies have trained tens of thousands of Ukrainian troops and have provided £57 billion of military aid alone. However the alliance has no official presence in Ukraine and provides only non-lethal support to Kyiv. There is still some hesitation from members of the alliance about Ukraine joining. German defence minister Boris Pistorious said “the door is open a crack” but he added that it was “not the time to decide that now”. The minister said Nato must “carefully” weigh any step towards including Ukraine in the alliance. “You have to decide with a cool head and a hot heart and not vice versa,” he added.

Clare Daly, Irish MEP, speaking at a powerless  ‘talking shop’ called the European Parliament, says Ukraine is running out of men in war, and NATO escalating tensions should be looked at to gain peace.  Clare Daly responds after Ukraine puts her on list of people who allegedly promote Russian propaganda Irish MEP Clare Daly has responded after she was put on a list compiled by Ukraine’s secret service who it claims “promote narratives consonant with Russian propaganda”. The list includes 72 public figures across the globe who Ukraine deems to be sharing harmful narratives. Ms Daly is the only Irish figure on the list. Others include US Republican senator Rand Paul, former Democrat Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard and US journalist Glenn Greenwald. The list, which is titled “speakers who promote narratives consonant with Russian propaganda”, was published by the Centre for Countering Disinformation, a unit within the national security and defence council of Ukraine which is headed by president Volodymyr Zelensky. Ms Daly is being accused of sharing two narratives – that sanctions against Russia “make innocent people suffer”, and that the Ukrainian conflict is “a proxy war between Nato and Russia.” In a statement issued to Independent.ie this morning, Ms Daly said it was a “blacklist issued by a Ukrainian Government propaganda department”. The left-wing MEP, who has been critical of Nato and Western countries’ response to the Russia’s invasion, as well as the invasion itself, added that the “West’s intervention has only prolonged the war, contributing to continuing death and destruction”. “Both comments attributed to me are absolutely correct and I stand over them. Increasingly it is ordinary citizens in Europe who are paying the price of the sanctions and it is only getting worse as the gas is turned down,” she said. “Russia is responsible for starting the war but the role of the international community should be to help end it with diplomatic efforts seeking to secure ceasefire and a negotiated peace. This has been rejected by the US and NATO who have instead decided to use Ukraine to conduct a war with Russia, and it is ordinary citizens in Ukraine, Russia and Europe who are now suffering.

Sir Iqbal Sacranie, the former founding Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: ‘It is appropriate the formal ritualistic prayers of the Coronation ought to be Anglican as the King is from the Anglican faith. ‘But the presence of other faith leaders will signify the importance that the King represents all the faith communities in the Kingdom.’ Pradip Gajjar, a Hindu leader, said: ‘This is a Christian ceremony for a Christian King. I don’t see a problem with that.’ The King has already dramatically slimmed down the scale of the May 6 ceremony, with the service expected to last just over an hour compared with more than three hours for his mother’s crowning.

I bowed when I saw Jesus Christ. You see and feel the love He has for you. You can look at Him. You experience the love He has for you. It’s like He loves you and no one else. He would communicate with the angels thought to thought. The angels would then bow before Him and [do the assigned task and then] back out. I saw family I hadn’t seen in a long time. All of the family of all of Dean’s generations who accepted Jesus Christ as Savior came to greet him in. Family and friends come to greet you in as well as those you impacted somehow to live for Jesus Christ…..

Top official at Legal & General spearheading the partnership with the local authority to develop the site formerly earmarked for an arena, admitted publicly that the company has been in talks with the council since 2015 – years earlier than previously known. Green councillor O’Rourke, who chairs the growth and regeneration scrutiny commission, said she had asked for a draft version or summary but even that had been rebuffed. She told commission members: “Today’s meeting was scheduled for this date so that members could scrutinise the Temple Island proposal and disposal paper. “We have been refused access to all aspects of the disposal, despite asking for a draft copy of the report or a précis of what is due to go to cabinet. “We have previously had assurances from the legal department that scrutiny is entitled to see papers, even in draft form, and the cabinet member (deputy mayor Craig Cheney) has told us that scrutiny is welcome to put anything it deems worthy on its forward plan and it would be scrutinised “Yet, here we are today, with no details of the disposal to scrutinise and that is just five days before the full paper is due to be published. “One can only deduce that the administration has deliberately decided to keep this information from members of the scrutiny commission. “Having reviewed the cabinet report from July, I am more adamant that scrutiny needs to have sight of the disposal agreement prior to the report going to cabinet, as there are serious questions unanswered.” She said these related to whether the deal with Legal & General was a “simple property transaction” which did not require a public procurement process or a “public works contract” which would have to go out to tender. Legal Generals plans for Temple Island have been designed by architects Zaha Hadid – image courtesy of Legal General O’Rourke added: “We are doing a land transaction with L&G but also require an office block to be built, so it is more than a land deal. “In my questions I asked for evidence that we would not be entering into a contract that would be ineffective or unlawful. “We have been told we cannot now scrutinise the very important legal and financial arrangements to say if this deal is either lawful or good value for money. “If mishandled, this has the potential to leave the council on the hook for tens of millions of pounds, as well as serious legal challenges. “This is valuable public land in the heart of the city which has already had millions invested in it. Any decision to hand it over to a privat company must be carefully scrutinised.” Labour councillor Jon Wellington said: “I disagree that things have been deliberately withheld from scrutiny. “It is probably just work ongoing that cannot come to scrutiny. However, I agree it should be put back to March cabinet. “If you’re still working on things, I can wait a month for something that will have massive implications for the city.” The row overshadowed a presentation by L&G about its Temple Island proposals, although it contained few details. Lib Dem councillor Wright said: “The vision you showed all looks very nice, which makes it all the more weird L&G wants to offload the risk onto the Bristol taxpayer. “If it’s all going to be such an amazing success, why does the taxpayer need to back this up? “We want to scrutinise the legal and contractual fluff which is the important stuff and it perplexes me that this is a 250-year contract. Why is the taxpayer being put on hook on any failures to go ahead?”

Temple Island office deal questioned as council to pay rent for 40 years Details have been withheld due to “commercial sensitivities” A range of questions are yet to be answered over a deal for offices to be built on Bristol’s Temple Island. Financial services firm Legal & General (L&G) has agreed to invest £350million to redevelop a disused plot near Temple Meads station – land which was once lined up for a Bristol Arena. The scheme is set to include two ‘major Grade A’ office blocks, as well as 550 homes, a 345-room hotel and a conference centre. Bristol City Council plans to spend £32million preparing Temple Island for development, before leasing it to L&G for 250 years. The local authority intends to guarantee L&G rent on the office space for 40 years because this was “necessary” to secure the investment, according to council documents. The Bristol Green Party leader Cllr Paula O’Rourke said it is “very hard to see what the demand for offices will be” following the rise in home working due to coronavirus. She believes the council needs time to test the market for office space before sealing a deal to pay office rent for 40 years, in case it struggles to find sub-tenants. Bristol Live has asked the council how much time it will have to review this part of the deal. The council says this information — and financial details of the rental agreement with L&G — cannot be released due to commercial sensitivities. A council spokesman said: “Alongside the new university student accommodation on the site, the L&G development will create an ongoing income stream for the public purse bringing in £1.69million rental income plus £1million in business and council tax rates each year with a projected £832million boost to Bristol’s economy over the next 25 years.”

Bristol mayor Marvin Rees chairs a cabinet meeting but he treats his friends very differently to Green councillor for Redland Martin Fodor, his political enemy by constantly interrupting him and telling him what questions he can ask  —  Marvin Rees talking to friends vs Rees taking to Green Party cllrs – Bristol mayor Marvin Rees sees himself as a CEO, giving pompous lectures about the ‘tone’ of opposition councillors when his tone is far worse – bullying from the chair of the council’s cabiner meetings  –  Marvin Rees has denied being a “bully” and an “egoist” after councillors – including from his own Labour group – accused him of sidelining them and shutting down debate. He took aim at the city council itself as a long-time “democratically broken organisation” and blamed the collapse of his former cross-party rainbow cabinet on opposition groups’ “cheap digs”. Mr Rees said his One City approach to governing, which includes hand-picked boards and working in tandem with major Bristol institutions such as the police, NHS and universities, took the big issues much more seriously than local authority members. Opposition councillors have long accused the mayor of having a “thin skin”, and Cllr Jo Sergeant defected from Labour to the Greens last month with a savage parting shot at her former party and Mr Rees. She said the Bristol Labour group was “focused on power for power’s sake and beset with a culture of fear and bullying”. Cllr Sergeant, who is standing in the Avonmouth and Lawrence Weston ward on Thursday, May 6, claimed the local party was dominated by Mr Rees and Cllr Marg Hickman who “through their allies… control the agenda and restrict opportunity for debate on issues they do not wish to be discussed”. She said the mayor saw local councillors as an “annoying inconvenience” and that he set up the City Office and One City boards as an “alternative council” to make policy that “circumvents democratic process”. But they were backed by Labour Cllr Nicola Bowden-Jones and echoed at a full council meeting by “demoralised” Labour Cllr Mike Davies who said that under the mayor, councillors were made to feel a “relic of the past” whose role had been made “hollow”. That same day, Labour Cllr Olly Mead told member forum that councillors were treated “like a nuisance to be barely tolerated and left in a corner to do colouring-in like primary school children”. Neither Cllr Mead nor Cllr Davies are standing at the local elections.

Karin Smyth has told Bristol Live the people of South Bristol do not have confidence the huge numbers of new homes being built south of the river will be matched by more services needed for the tens of thousands of new residents moving in. And a Bristol Live investigation has revealed Ms Smyth’s concerns appear justified, with both the NHS and Bristol City Council saying the job of making sure there is enough healthcare services to cope is the other’s responsibility.

Less than one per cent of the 9,500 households considered the least urgent are allocated accommodation, so there is “little to no chance of being successfully housed”, a report to the authority’s leaders said. The city’s social housing is advertised on the council’s HomeChoice website, which people on the waiting list can bid on, with those in the greatest need usually awarded a property if it is suitable. Cabinet members approved a radical shake-up of the scheme, removing the right of those in band four – the lowest of four priority bands categorising people’s need for accommodation – to put in bids for most homes, apart from older people looking for sheltered housing.

Bristol City Centre has been pedestrianised but due to the cost of living crisis most evenings it is dead, there are very few pedestrians about to enjoy it and far less shoppers during the day as shops are closing and being boarded up. As cars are banned so funding for alternatives is withdrawn: Funding scrapped and plans ‘paused’ for electric buses and bike hangars in Bristol–  250 electric buses and bike hangers to be cut – alternatives to car travel are being wound down, part of a much bigger attack on the poor – Blue Badge holders forced to pay daily Clean Air Zone charges after exemption ends Blue Badge holders and a number of other groups of drivers have lost their temporary exemptions for Bristol’s Clean Air Zone, requiring them to pay a daily charge. On March 31, any Blue Badge daily exemptions ended at midnight, meaning those who were making use of it must now pay the daily Clean Air Zone charge. From April onwards, a number of drivers with Blue Badges in Bristol will be required to pay the £9 daily charge if they own a non-compliant petrol or diesel vehicle. The Blue Badge daily exemption allowed those who made use of the scheme to avoid the charge if they were making occasional trips into the zone. With the Bristol Clean Air Zone, drivers were given 30 daily exemptions, with drivers needing to activate a daily exemption each time they travelled into the zone. Drivers were able to apply to the council for more daily exemptions if they needed them and were free of charge. The scheme worked in collaboration with the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras around the city. Once a daily exemption was activated, the cameras would recognise the vehicle automatically and not issue a fine. In general, petrol cars which are Euro 4,5 and 6 and manufactured after 2006 will escape charges. Newer diesel vehicles, usually those registered after 2015 and have a Euro 6 emissions output will also not have to pay the daily cost. As with all other Clean Air Zones and Low Emission Zones, fully electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are exempt. Non-compliant taxis and LGVs also pay the £9 charge, while HGVs, buses and coaches are required to pay £100.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan wants to push ahead with his plans dFive Conservative-led councils have been granted permission to challenge Sadiq Khan’s intention to expand London’s ultra low emission zone (Ulez). The outer-London boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Harrow and Hillingdon along with Surrey County Council launched legal action in February over the proposed extension of Ulez beyond the North and South Circular roads. A judge at the High Court has now decided their bid for a judicial review can go ahead, saying parts of the local authorities’ challenge were “arguable”. Sir Ross Cranston, in a written decision issued on Wednesday, said a one day hearing should be held in early July. If it goes ahead, Ulez will see drivers in outer London pay a £12.50 daily fee from August 29 if their vehicles do not meet the required emissions standards.

The Coal, Climate Change and the total destruction of the British Coal Industry by David Douglass – High Court refuses to hear legal challenge from climate groups against Cumbria coal mine The mine has been a controversial issue in West Cumbria since it was announced in 2014. The High Court has refused to hear a legal challenge from climate groups against the Cumbria coal mine. Friends of the Earth and South Lakes Action on Climate Change (SLACC) launched legal challenges in January in an attempt to block the construction of the mine. The mine was approved by Communities Secretary Michael Gove in December. Friends of the Earth and SLACC have said they will contest the High Court’s refusal to hear the challenge. Claimants have a right to a specially convened hearing to try and persuade the court to change its mind. The organisations contend that Mr Gove failed to account for the significant climate impacts of the mine, including the acceptability of carbon credits to offset the mine’s emissions, the international precedent that opening a new mine would set and the impact of opening the mine on the global coal market. Carole Wood, chair of SLACC, said: “We are disappointed with this decision, but we and our legal team are firmly of the view that there are legal errors in the government’s decision to permit the mine. “The government sought to turn a blind eye to the climate impacts from burning the coal that will be produced by the mine, and we look forward to a hearing to consider whether this approach can be lawful.” Many people in Whitehaven believe the decision to approve the new coal mine was the correct one, with West Cumbria Mining promising five hundred jobs created in an economically deprived area. 

How the 1920s and 1930s German Steel industry: Krupps and Thyssen funded the early days of the Nazi Party – To create a national party, Hitler ensured there was an office of the Nazi Party in each constituency of the Weimar Republic. This expansion and consolidation was paid for by donations from wealthy businessmen such as Krupp, Bosch and Thyssen who wanted Hitler and the Nazis to crush the trade union movement and communism in Germany.  – While there is no suggestion that Prescott Bush was sympathetic to the Nazi cause, the documents reveal that the firm he worked for, Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH), acted as a US base for the German industrialist, Fritz Thyssen, who helped finance Hitler in the 1930s before falling out with him at the end of the decade. The Guardian has seen evidence that shows Bush was the director of the New York-based Union Banking Corporation (UBC) that represented Thyssen’s US interests and he continued to work for the bank after America entered the war. – Tantalising – Bush was also on the board of at least one of the companies that formed part of a multinational network of front companies to allow Thyssen to move assets around the world. Thyssen owned the largest steel and coal company in Germany and grew rich from Hitler’s efforts to re-arm between the two world wars. One of the pillars in Thyssen’s international corporate web, UBC, worked exclusively for, and was owned by, a Thyssen-controlled bank in the Netherlands. More tantalising are Bush’s links to the Consolidated Silesian Steel Company (CSSC), based in mineral rich Silesia on the German-Polish border. During the war, the company made use of Nazi slave labour from the concentration camps, including Auschwitz. The ownership of CSSC changed hands several times in the 1930s, but documents from the US National Archive declassified last year link Bush to CSSC, although it is not clear if he and UBC were still involved in the company when Thyssen’s American assets were seized in 1942.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk has used a rare interview to tear into a BBC reporter over a disagreement around the rise of hate speech on the platform. The enigmatic billionaire gave a one-hour-long interview to the BBC’s North America technology reporter James Clayton earlier this week at Twitter headquarters. He gave surprisingly honest answers to several curveball questions, including an admission he only bought Twitter because he believed a court would force him. But the most awkward moment of the chat came when Clayton posed to the Tesla co-founder there had been a rise in hate speech on Twitter since Musk took over the platform in October last year. The reporter furthered this by claiming former content moderators had told the BBC there were no longer enough people working to police hate speech on the platform. Musk quickly turned the journalist’s accusation around on him, asking Clayton if he had personally seen a rise in hate speech, before asking him to describe “a hateful thing”. The BBC journalist replied with a definition of hate speech as “content that will solicit a reaction, something that will include something that is slightly racist or slightly sexist”. “So, you think if something is slightly sexist it should be banned?” Musk retorted. “I’m not saying anything,” Clayton fired back. “Well, I’m just curious, I’m trying to understand what you mean by hateful content, and I’m asking for specific examples, and you just said that if something is slightly sexist that’s hateful content, does that mean it should be banned?” Musk asked. When pressed further on naming a specific example of hate speech on the platform, the reporter stammered before claiming he hadn’t used the Twitter For You feed in weeks. “Well then how could you see the hateful content?” the Tesla CEO queried. After an increasingly cringeworthy back-and-forth over whether the reporter could name a specific example of hate speech, the billionaire delivered a scathing line. “You don’t know what you’re talking about, because you can’t give me a single example of hateful content,” Musk said. “You just lied.” The interview was aired on Twitter Spaces and on BBC channels on Tuesday evening from the platform’s San Francisco headquarters. UK MP Andrew Bridgen weighed in on the uncomfortable exchange, calling it a “truly car crash interview for the BBC” in a Tweet posted shortly after it aired. “Elon Musk discovers what we already knew, BBC interviewers like asking pointed questions and making unsubstantiated allegations, but don’t like answering any questions,” Mr Bridgen said.

In addition, the Coronation Oath Act of 1688 requires the King to declare he will maintain the established Anglican Protestant Church. One source said Church laws meant that the participation of non-Christian faith leaders should be restricted to them just being present in Westminster Abbey and taking part in the procession. Ms Pepinster, writing in today’s Mail on Sunday, says the King is still wrestling with how to ensure that his new role accords with his realm’s many non-Christian faiths. Church sources say the monarch has been told that his desire for a ‘diverse’ ceremony, including participation by non-Christians, risks clashing with centuries- old canon law. However, the Phoenicians jealously guarded the secret of the source of their tin, and ancient Greek and Roman accounts are vague as to the islands’ location.

“Spyfail” Author James Bamford: What Leaked Pentagon Docs Show About Ukraine War, U.S. Spying on AlliesFormer NSA officer James Bamford, author of Spy Fail takes a look at the massive leak of embarrassing Pentagon documents to do with the Ukraine war – Israel interference with the US election and they got a US embassy in Jerusalem – The Justice Department has launched a criminal investigation into a recent leak of highly classified Pentagon intelligence documents revealing secrets about the war in Ukraine, as well as details about the U.S. spying on a number of its adversaries, as well as its allies, including Israel and South Korea. We discuss the documents, the agencies they come from, how and where they were released, and more with investigative journalist James Bamford, whose latest book is “Spyfail: Foreign Spies, Moles, Saboteurs, and the Collapse of America’s Counterintelligence.” It’s hard to say why any of this stuff is appearing or why it’s appearing on those platforms. Usually, there’s three reasons for spying. That was one of the reasons I wrote Spyfail, because there are so many spies out there that the U.S. never ends up catching. And there’s three main reasons. One is money, obviously. Most spies want to sell secrets for money. Another is ideological. They want to help a foreign government. They don’t care much about money. And the third reason is basically the thrill or else a anger. So, that could be the reason that these documents were released, the third reason, anger. Somebody was angry, and they decided that they were just going to put these documents on whatever platform they happened to be using. So it’s very hard to know.

British and American special forces are inside Ukraine, leaked documents claim: MoD denies suggestion that as many as 50 UK elite troops are operating in warzone against Putin’s forces – One document claims 50 UK special forces personnel are deployed in Ukraine – It alleges the UK has deployed more operators than other NATO states combined – The leaked documents have revealed a trove of information about the Ukraine war, including details of US spying operations – not only in Russia, but also among its allies including South Korea, Israel, Ukraine and the UK. A massive leak of classified Pentagon documents that revealed how the US is infiltrating Russian intelligence could give Putin’s war effort in Ukraine a huge boost They show how US intelligence has been able to provide Kyiv with extensive details of planned Russian attacks, but also revealed that Ukraine’s air defences are almost exhausted. And one section titled ‘US/NATO SOF in UKR’ appeared to reveal the number of Western special forces present in Ukraine. Britain has allegedly deployed 50 operators – the most of any Western nation – alongside 17 Latvian, 15 French, 14 American and a lone operator from the Netherlands.

Possibility that these leaks are deliberate so that gives the US an excuse to clamp down on internet freedoms or else to funnel more weapons to Ukraine because Zelenskyy is losing the war spectacularly. Russia using glide bombs to hit Ukrainian positions.   A Controlled Leak and A 21 Year Old Scape-Goat? Until I saw the document labeled, CIA Operations Center Intelligence Update, I was inclined to believe that the leaked documents were the work of a frustrated whistleblower. But I have changed my mind. This looks like a controlled, directed leak by individuals who manipulated the 21 year old National Guard troop into taking certain documents and posting them on a public server.  The CIA Operations Center Intelligence Update is a document produced by analysts in the Operations Center to be delivered to the regular CIA analysts. When I worked in the Ops Center I was responsible for monitoring traffic from Latin American posts and flagging items that the analysts in the Latin American Division need to know. I would write up summary paragraphs just like the ones in the documents leaked on line. This was an internal CIA document. It was not broadcast to the other intelligence agencies. In my 23 years working with U.S. military commands around the world, I never saw a copy of this type of report circulating among those with the highest clearances. Never. How did a 21 year old kid get his hands on at least two of these? The classified documents now in the public domain are focused primarily on Russia and Ukraine. The CIA Ops Center docs now floating around the internet are only partial copies. For example, there are three pages, all classified Top Secret, from an eight page document. If you’re a goofy 21 year old gamer simply intent on impressing your young proteges, why not take all eight pages. My guess is that the other five pages contained no intelligence information on Ukraine or Russia. The kid reportedly was a cyber analyst assigned to the 102 Intelligence Wing, which reports to the U.S. 16 Air Force:  The 102nd ISS provides intelligence systems maintenance, integration, and operations for the AN/GSQ-272 SENTINEL weapon system, as part of the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF-DCGS) Enterprise, enabling near real-time Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (CPED) of – The Sixteenth Air Force (Air Forces Cyber), headquartered at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, focuses on information warfare in the modern age.  Information Warfare requires integrating: Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance; Cyber Warfare; Electromagnetic Warfare; Weather; Public Affairs; and Information Operations capabilities. 16th Air Force ensures that our Air Force and Nation are fast, resilient, and fully integrated in competition, crisis, and conflict by incorporating Information Warfare at operational and tactical levels, capitalizing on the value of information by leading the charge for uniquely-21st century challenges in the highly dynamic, seamless, and global information domain..- I do not believe it is a coincidence that he served in an information warfare unit. Remember, he was a low ranked enlisted guy. He had a chain of command. He did not show up to work and decide what duties he had to perform while on the job. He reported to and worked at the direction of Non-Commissioned Officers and Commissioned Officers. He did not just waltz into a SCIF and print documents at his leisure. A guy at his level would attract attention if he was printing off a document like the CIA Ops Center report.I believe that the alleged leaker did have access to Top Secret intelligence by virtue of his job. I don’t know if there was a polygraph requirement for him and his cohorts. Regardless, all of the intelligence that has been leaked was on a Top Secret computer net and could only be accessed inside a SCIF. Let me explain why I think the story currently being sold to the public about this young man is too good to be true and, in my view, is a smoke screen. The first problem is BELLINGCAT. Bellingcat is an Open Source Intelligence outfit that has been funded by U.S. and British intelligence. BELLINGCAT is ‘credited’ with sleuthing out the identity of the site where the classified documents were posted and the name of the leaker.

An official transcript of the remarks released on Thursday crossed out “Black and Tans” and inserted “All Blacks” instead. The US president made the slip during a speech in the Windsor pub in Dundalk on Wednesday night on the first day of his three-day visit to Ireland. Biden was thanking Rob Kearney, a distant cousin who played in an Irish rugby team that beat New Zealand, for the tie he was wearing. “This was given to me by one of these guys, right here. He was a hell of a rugby player. He beat the hell out of the Black and Tans.” Ireland’s rugby team won a famous victory against the All Blacks at Soldier Field in Chicago in 2016. Irish rebels fought a bloody conflict against the Black and Tans – an auxiliary military force nicknamed for the colours of their uniforms – during the 1919-21 Irish war of independence.

Sy Hersh article on Zelenskyy using US donations for money laundering and selling donated weapons on the black market making a fortune out of the war – Seymour Hersh: the CIA Knows Ukrainian Officials Are Skimming US Aid – Hersh says the CIA estimates at least $400 million was embezzled last year in funds earmarked for diesel payments – Hersh said according to one estimate by CIA analysts, at least $400 million in funds were embezzled last year. Sources told Hersh that Ukrainian officials are also “competing” to set up front companies for export contracts to private arms dealers around the world. The issue of corruption was raised during a meeting between CIA Director William Burns and Zelensky in January. An intelligence official with direct knowledge of the meeting told Hersh that Burns delivered a stunning message to Zelensky. Hersh wrote: “The senior generals and government officials in Kiev were angry at what they saw as Zelensky’s greed, so Burns told the Ukrainian president, because ‘he was taking a larger share of the skim money than was going to the generals.’” During the meeting, Burns presented Zelensky with a list of 35 generals and senior government officials whose corruption was known to the CIA. Zelensky responded by dismissing 10 officials who were engaged in flagrant corruption. “The ten he got rid of were brazenly bragging about the money they had­driving around Kiev in their new Mercedes,” the intelligence official said. Hersh said Zelensky’s “half-hearted response” and the “lack of concern” in the White House angered some US intelligence officials. The intelligence official speaking to Hersh criticized President Biden’s two main foreign policy advisors, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. “They have no experience, judgment, and moral integrity. They just tell lies, make up stories. Diplomatic deniability is something else,” the official said. The official said there was a “total breakdown between the White House leadership and the intelligence community.” – Zelensky and team stole at least $400 million of US aid – Seymour Hersh Corruption in Ukraine may be on par with what was seen in Afghanistan, the investigative journalist claimed. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his senior officials are skimming American taxpayer dollars by the hundreds of millions, investigative journalist Seymour Hersh claimed on Wednesday. The alleged grift even includes schemes involving trade with Russia itself. Zelensky and his entourage embezzled at least $400 million from US funds meant for diesel procurement last year, Hersh claimed in a new article on Substack, citing a CIA estimate. Kiev has allegedly been buying diesel fuel, which is essential for the war effort, from Russia itself – and in the process skimming large sums of US funds earmarked for diesel payments.

Nuclear War games by the USA, but civilisation Global Thunder 23 is by Strategic Command – US nuclear bombers will be ‘buzzing’ Russia simulating a nuclear attack on Russia, it may ‘go live’ from a drill- – US Kicks Off Nuclear War Games The Pentagon is set to begin a round of drills simulating a nuclear war, according to a Defense Department press release. The war games come as the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists warns a civilization-ending war is closer than at any time in history. The military exercises, dubbed Global Thunder 23, will be conducted by Strategic Command (STRATCOM). American soldiers and bombers will be joined by allies in the war games. The STRATCOM press release said this year’s drills “will include an increase in bomber aircraft flights throughout the exercise.” Global Thunder is an annual war game. The exercises are typically conducted at the end of the year. Last year, the Pentagon delayed Global Thunder until early 2023. Making this year’s iteration of Global Thunder the first since Russia invaded Ukraine. During Global Thunder 22, held in November 2021, US strategic bombers flew within 12.4 miles of the Russian border and simulated a nuclear attack. STRATCOM maintains the war games are “not in response to actions by any nation or other actors,” but are rather intended to “enhance nuclear readiness and ensure a safe, secure, and reliable strategic deterrence force.”

He also became head of the CIA program that creates high-tech gadgets for spies to use. Stephen Kinzer’s new book is called “Poisoner In Chief: Sidney Gottlieb And The CIA Search For Mind Control.” During the early period of the Cold War, in the late ’40s and early 1950s, the CIA became paralyzed with a fear that communists had perfected some kind of a drug or a potion or a technique that would allow them to control human minds. This was actually a greatly exaggerated fear, but it played on something cultural that affected everybody that grew up in the early 20th century. We were fed a lot of books and movies about the idea of mind control, that you could hypnotize someone or give someone a drug that would make them do something that otherwise they would never do. And seized by this myth, the CIA not only believed that communists had approached or reached this Holy Grail, but that the CIA should also find out a way to do it. So MKUltra was a project lasting up to 10 years in which the CIA sought to find ways to control the human mind. They wanted to be able to have a truth serum that would make prisoners say everything they knew, also an amnesiac that would make people forget what they had done and, most important, a technique or a drug that would allow the CIA to direct agents to carry out acts like sabotage or assassination and then forget who had ordered them to do it, or even that they’d carried out the actions at all. So MKUltra was the most sustained search in history for techniques of mind control. GROSS: So LSD was created in 1943 by Dr. Albert Hoffman at the Sandoz Laboratories in Basel, Switzerland. How did the CIA find out about LSD? KINZER: As part of the search for drugs that would allow people to control the human mind, CIA scientists became aware of the existence of LSD, and this became an obsession for the early directors of MKUltra. Actually, the MKUltra director, Sidney Gottlieb, can now be seen as the man who brought LSD to America.

Gill does not believe that Winston Churchill was a Freemason but evidence suggests otherwise. Morton was also involved after the war in the important role of Britain s representative on the Tripartite commission looking into the whereabouts of Nazi Gold.  The mysterious life and career of Desmond Morton, Intelligence officer and personal adviser to Winston Churchill during the Second World War, is exposed for the first time in this study based on full access to official records. After distinguished service as artillery officer and aide-de-camp to General Haig during the First World War, Morton worked for the Secret Intelligence Service from 1919-1934, and the fortunes of SIS in the interwar years are described here in unprecedented detail. As Director of the Industrial Intelligence Centre in the 1930s, Morton’s warnings of Germany’s military and industrial preparations for war were widely read in Whitehall, though they failed to accelerate British rearmament as much as Morton – and Churchill – considered imperative. Morton had met Churchill on the Western Front in 1916 and supported him throughout the ‘wilderness years’, moving to Downing Street as the Prime Minister’s Intelligence adviser in May 1940. There he remained in a liaison role, with the Intelligence Agencies and with Allied resistance authorities, until the end of the war, when he became a ‘troubleshooter’ for the Treasury in a series of tricky international assignments. Throughout Morton’s career, myth, rumour and deliberate obfuscation have created a misleading picture of his role and influence. This book shines a light into many hitherto shadowy corners of British history in the first half of the twentieth century.

NET ZERO WATCH: UK Crops grown to be burnt for energy –  Net zero plan dedicates more land for biomass crops than new woodland Exclusive Government’s strategy for tackling climate change includes proposals for thousands more hectares of plants and trees to be grown to burn in power stations By Daniel Capurro Environment Correspondent The Government’s new climate change plan includes annual targets to plant more crops for burning to make electricity than woodland. Green experts have warned that the focus on biomass risks distracting from proven technologies and increasing inequality in rural areas. The proposals for greater biomass use are part of a major new Government strategy launched last month in an attempt to get the UK on target to hit net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. As part of the plans, ministers are making a major bet on “Beccs”, or bioenergy with carbon capture and storage. The technology, which has never been deployed on a major scale, claims to generate negative emissions. The theory given is that the crops for burning – usually fast-growing grass and trees – would absorb carbon from the atmosphere while growing, which would then be stored underground in perpetuity once they have been burnt. The technology also promises to provide electricity at times when less reliable forms of generation such as wind and solar are subdued. Overall, the energy strategy makes a call to plant an additional 9,600 hectares of perennial energy crops and 8,900 hectares of woodland annually by 2030, increasing to 15,000 extra hectares of energy crops and 10,300 hectares of new woodland a year by 2035. The Climate Change Committee has said that there is a place for Beccs in the UK’s energy mix. However it has warned that the supply of sustainable feedstock is limited and that more of it needs to come from the UK rather than overseas. Currently, biomass burning sites without carbon capture, such as Drax in North Yorkshire, import their wood from overseas. Nevertheless, critics have questioned why ministers are placing so much emphasis on an expensive technology that is yet to be shown to work at the necessary scale. Dr Lydia Collas, a policy analyst at Green Alliance, told i: “The Government appears to be gambling heavily on bioenergy crops, even though these provide few environmental benefits beyond carbon. Planting new woodland, by contrast, is cheaper and better for nature and rural communities.” Critics of the biomass plan say finite subsidy money should be used to plant woodlands, which sequester carbon and also boost biodiversity, while energy efforts should focus on cheaper and proven technologies. “We shouldn’t be overcomplicating things. New technology will play an important role in tackling change, but we need to capitalise on the simple yet potentially transformative things already available to us,” said Dr Collas. Analysis by Green Alliance showed that, even if costs fell significantly, it was still cheaper to remove carbon via woodland planting. As well as potentially distorting the UK’s energy market, Green Alliance said that the emphasis on biomass crops risked channelling taxpayer money towards already wealthy farmers and away from poorer ones. The agricultural land suitable for growing biomass crops tends to be of higher quality than that used for woodlands, which is often upland territory with poor soil, while much of the subsidy money would go to power generators. The Government was approached for comment.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The latter said, “The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change.” Says Thunberg in her new book, “Around 2030 we will be in a position to set off an irreversible chain reaction beyond human control that will lead to the end of our civilization as we know it.” Sometimes, scientists themselves make apocalyptic claims. “It’s difficult to see how we could accommodate a billion people or even half of that,” if Earth warms four degrees, said one earlier this year. “The potential for multi-breadbasket failure is increasing,” said another. If sea levels rise as much as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change predicts, another scientist said, “It will be an unmanageable problem.” Apocalyptic statements like these have real-world impacts. In September, a group of British psychologists said children are increasingly suffering from anxiety from the frightening discourse around climate change. In October, an activist with Extinction Rebellion (”XR”) ­ an environmental group founded in 2018 to commit civil disobedience to draw awareness to the threat its founders and supporters say climate change poses to human existence ­ and a videographer, were kicked and beaten in a London Tube station by angry commuters. And last week, an XR co-founder said a genocide like the Holocaust was “happening again, on a far greater scale, and in plain sight” from climate change.

Lapshyn turned up in Britain in the spring, having won a work experience intern competition run by the robotics software company, Delcam. Astonishingly, this competition was run in conjunction with the British Embassy in Kiev, where he received his ticket to the UK from the British ambassador himself. It is the Diplomatic Service and Foreign Office’s job to look into the credentials of anyone taking up residence in Britain. Yet not only, it seems, did they miss Lapshyn’s fanatical Neo-Nazism but failed to notice that he had been arrested in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, in 2010 for using home-made explosives to virtually destroy the flat he was living in. Despite blowing out his mother’s doors and windows, Ukrainian police let him off with a caution because he said he was simply doing a ‘science experiment’. Whether MI6 and the Diplomatic Service failed to do their job when vetting Lapshyn or not rather depends what their real job was. Incredible though it will seem to some, Lapshyn might have been identified by MI6 as a useful puppet to fuel sectarian strife in Britain and been conveyed to the UK for that very purpose. This is precisely the covert role the British Secret State has taken on in the past and does regularly abroad, all shrouded under the guise of ‘national security’.

Crowley considered himself to be the reincarnation of Dee’s assistant, necromancer and interpreter of the angelic language, Edward Kelly (1555-1597). It was early in the 20th century when Crowley proudly proclaimed himself The Great Beast 666, who believed or acted as if he was an agent of the devil in order to help bring about humanity’s spiritual evolution. He considered himself to be the prophet of a new age – the Æon of Horus and his religion Thelema, whose law was, “Do what thou wilt, shall be the whole of the Law.” As he once said, “I was not content to believe in a personal devil and serve him, in the ordinary sense of the word. I wanted to get hold of him personally and become his chief of staff.” And “There are no “standards of Right”. Ethics is balderdash. Each Star must go on its own orbit. To hell with “moral principle”; there is no such thing.” (Aleister Crowley, The Old and New Commentaries to Liber AL) This is why the British press once labeled him “The Wickedest Man In the World,” and a 1915 Vanity Fair profile put it well, “a legend has been built up around his name. He is a myth. No other man has so many strange tales told of him.” In addition to working for the British government, he helped spawn several Satanic organizations and influenced millions of people in the process. I argue that Crowley’s influence and propaganda helped make him the Grandfather of Modern Satanism, and I believe we can also call him the founder of Modern Atheism and Neo-Liberalism. Crowley can be credited with influencing millions of people in the Western world with his brand of individualistic religion in the counter-culture generation from the 1960s to the 1970s up until this very day. This is why some of his critics argue that he is also responsible for spawning a whole generation of witches, warlocks, and degenerates, in addition to being an influence on modern Satanism. When you study his life, you will find that Crowley’s statement about being the Devil’s chief of staff may very well be true. He had worked his whole life to facilitate the removal of obstacles in Western culture, such as morality and Christian values, in order to bring about the end-time.

Sir William Wiseman, head of British intelligence and future employee of Kuhn, Loeb & Co.­“decided to ‘guide the storm’ in Russia, using money, secret propaganda and hand-picked agents.”[6] As found in the Sir William Wiseman Papers, Wiseman described one part of his plan as “endeavor[ing] to do in Russia what we have done successfully elsewhere; namely to place Germans who are working for us among the real German agents…,” and use agents who “have special facilities for getting into the confidence of German agents.” Among Wiseman’s concerns were that “the Germans have managed to secure control of the most important secret societies in Russia.” “It is necessary that this German influence should be exposed,” he noted, “and counter-Societies organized, if necessary.”[7] W. Somerset Maugham (1874 – 1965) Working for Wiseman were “Ace of Spies” Sidney Reilly, Somerset Maugham and, according to Spence, likely Aleister Crowley.[8] Maugham was also closely associated with Crowley. Arriving in Paris in November 1902, Crowley befriended the painter Gerald Festus Kelly, and through him became a member of the Parisian arts scene. He authored a series of poems, published as Rodin in Rime, on the work of his acquaintance, the sculptor Auguste Rodin.[9] One of those frequenting this milieu was Maugham, who after briefly meeting Crowley later used him as a model for the character of Oliver Haddo in his novel The Magician.[10] Reilly’s friend, former diplomat and journalist Sir Robert Bruce Lockhart, was a close acquaintance of Ian Fleming, author of the James Bond novels, for many years and recounted to Fleming many of Reilly’s espionage exploits.[11] Reilly became a secret agent of the British Secret Service Bureau, the precursor to the modern British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6/SIS). Although Reilly was originally employed by Wiseman, the SIS formally dropped Reilly and supposedly viewed him as untrustworthy and dangerous. Similar doubts applied to Wiseman as well. About this time, a “reform element” in British intelligence, became suspicious of Wiseman’s wartime activities and was secretly investigating him. Wiseman had been brought into Kuhn, Loeb and Co. by Crowley’s friend Otto Khan.
