Your guest tory councilor Geoff Gollop after seemingly serious about a difficult balance between communications and security he concluces my view is if your doing nothing wrong, you shouldn’t have to worry if your spied on. Doesn’t this sound familiar in mid 20th century history. Gollop’s comment comes way to close Hitler’s propaganda minister Jozef Goebbels policy was in so many words but close to what he really said and had written in an expanded form: if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear. Mark Zuckerberg owner of Facebook eerily said the same thing recently(back a few years ago)
I hope some of my comment has similarities in GB butSince i’m an american i can only comment what is going on here. The privitization of prisons in the us of a has successfully lobbied our government to impose longer senternces. they also support with money government representatives who are pushing for more and more law making.
law has nothing to do with wrong, right or middling. many laws are unjust, some aren’t, and many are middling like shoplifting. But it is an outrage to put lingerie, bottled water, and that type of thing, that the perpetrators get put in jail, in the parole system, and ruin your record for life and make it difficult to get a job or start a career. But the big banks here ruin pension funds and the like, and take in huge amounts of illegal drug money which like any product or service, the profits are astronomical.
The only way to so to say put out of business the drug cartels is to legalize and be legally produced and distributed. in addition reducing substantially the, killer gangs(only a tiny percentage of drug effects cause violence or vandalism) competing with each other to gain drug market share, the banksters, the politicians, the special drug police, and kill off slush funds for black ops for the military, and so.
Back to Gollop’s comments their will continue to terrorist attacks, many backed by gladio like government recruiters, will only be reduced drastically is dismantle the US empire. every terrorist attack that for every person of the “enemy”, many conceived by western security forces, and retribution by the US or NATO, et al will only create dozen’s of terrorists and upheavels in countries like Yemen. Gollop has cause and effect arse backwards. remember the first attacks on the twin towers in nyc was in 1993.
the george w bush administration probably killed more Iraqi’s in the first few weeks of the war on Iraq in 2003, than Saddam killed in his whole dictatorship(not at all saying Saddam was a peaceful man. but i have a tiny bit of “god have mercy on his soul” than i do for the bush regime). In the war on Libya and the deadly no fly zone probably killed more libyans than qaddafi did in his whole 40 years of dictatorship. btw Qaddafi’s coup that overthrew the king and government was bloodless 40+ years. daddy bush helped wreck Yugoslavia by only giving loans to nations within the Yugoslav confederation who did not participate in Federal Yugoslavia elections. I think after Yugoslavia “dictator light” Tito died the Yugoslav government got involved with the IMF, instead of doing more with the non aligned countries that Tito and Indira Ghandi were the creators of.
Even though Bernie Sanders abandoned us, there are millions of us who voted for him. We must form our own political party. We can’t do much now besides working hard on our own party, but by 2018 we will have significant % of our members voted for by us like the British party conferences, to serve us. Then we will be on the road to dismantling the US/Western empire and only after the dissolution then there will be relative peace between the west, east south america and africa.

btw, in 1975 the minimum wage in the US was two dollars and 50 cents. adjusted for inflation(much of it artificial set by bankers and corporations) to equal the purchasing or saving power in 1975 the minimum wage should be at the very least twenty dollars per hour. Also if we just cut the military budget by 1/4 we’d have more than enough money for a free National Health Service. thats without forcing the 0.5% to pay their fair share in income and asset taxes. if we had that to everyone would have a home(or apartment), nutritious food, heating and cooling, and a new new deal which would create many needed jobs like repairing our infrastructrue, nationalize common people’s banks, and a heavy investment in mostly Solar(sensitive enough now to capture adequate energy for a home in an inclement climate) power, and other renewables. imho However wind power is very material intensive and not at all reliable due to changes in wind speed. Also a big recreation of mass transit. I like trains and the bumpier the better. but since there are so many roads, when one is damaged like say from flood, underground electric explosions, water main breaks, buses have many detours to ride around out of commission road blockage. alert ! if you got the money stay away from self driving or even these computer enhanced motor vehicles which not only can be hacked but computer parts are far more delicate than mechanical electric or otherwise motor vehicles. every day i am seeing stories of these high tech cars malfunctioning, and too high percentage of serious injury and deaths from these cars going out of control. Tesla Motors(an insult to the great genius and inventor or discoverer of AC electric power) self driving cars are crashing more and more and causing deaths.
