What would happen if Canada allowed for a , or several Russian Military Bases in Canada ? be grateful for some replies
I think you are referring to the Cuban Missile Crisis (which was really the Turkish missile crisis). Putin’s State of the Art (offensive) nuclear kit ends the “our missiles are closer than yours” game in one go – and renders the entire US Navy redundant to boot. So no missiles in .Canada (or Cuba). Mutually Assured Destruction smashes Dr Strangelove yet again.

No Martin, I was a child during the Cuban Missile Crisis . I’ve also studied it a bit at university and a bit recently .. JFK and Khrushchev, via their back channel operatives, both “winked” . In return for USSR taking nuke missiles out of Cuba , us of a had to take their nukes out of Turkey, et al, on the ussr border . I just wanted to know is it possible for Canada to play “réal politique”, and on ethical, moral grounds to a lesser or greater degree, and have Russian military in Canada . At the very least better relations and economic deals to make sort of buffer to the US empire .

I was re-listening to a Politics Show from Friday 22nd December 2017 , hour 2
Trump speaks like he is on benzodiazepines , a “family” of “minor” tranquilizers . Benzodiazepines are the “good stuff” but leave you slowed down and speech is slurred or labored. For example Valium(generic diazepam) , Ativan(lorezepam), Xanax(alprozolapam), Klonopin(clonazepam) , et al . I wish they would put him on a vicious , inhumane, life span shortening, major tranquilizer in the neuroleptic family like Abilify(r), Zyprexa(olanzapine) , Haldol, et al. Too many merely odd persons(not threats to others like trump and his ilk) are put on these drugs and it is torture for them .
However , since the recent war on prescription opioids and benzodiazepines, too many persons who were taking with rx from doctors, long term, are going through hell or dieing from seizures in benzodiazepine withdrawal and even detox centers . Now doctors are afraid to keep people on them for fear of losing their licenses or being thrown in jail(at least what i know from here under US new draconian laws on keeping people on opioids or benzos)……. Ask any Heroin addict who was given benzodiazepines(‘benzos”) to ease his or her heroin withdrawal and most will tell you that going through benzo detox was much worse . Benzos are very hard to overdose on . And they do little damage to the neurological and physicological system of a human being. Yet withdrawal is as hellish as being on a major tranquilizer. Benzos are number one killer while going off them in psychotropic drugs category in detox or withdrawal . Alcohol detox and withdrawal is a close second Harm reduction is the answer not cold turkey and abstinence model which prevails , except in countries like Switzerland .
Regarding the war on opioids(e.g. vicodin) doctors are scared sh!tless and have to cut real in pain patients off . this has led to an increase of pain patients seeking through the expensive illegal market and an increase of people in pain committing suicide for pain relief . The Opioid Crisis is highly exaggerated . Most opioid related deaths are from mixing them with alcohol or other drugs . Most pain patients don’t do that . Yet we have this broad brush approach of punishing patients and doctors for what a FEW “highway to hell”, go all the way, users do .

Question 1 : Currently 2018 and through the 2020’s : What would happen to Canada if Canada allowed Russian or China military bases on Canada’s soil ?
Question 2 : Currently and through the 2020’s : What would happen to Canada if they started more trade and better relations with Russia, China, or any “enemies” the US empire deems enemies ?
