  2. Religion in government in Lebanon
    Nov 3, 2014
    by Maureen Fiedler

Please note the following quote is from a source in 2014 . No doubt, things have changed but i do believe there is still some sort of power sharing agreement between the three main religions in Lebanon perhaps not in the same order in the quote below of top government positions . Regards the overall government structure, elections and so on , i know nothing . link to source below

“….Here [ Lebanon ], the president of the country must be a Maronite Christian, the prime minister must be a Sunni Muslim, and the speaker of the Parliament must be a Shiite Muslim. It’s part of what’s called the National Pact. But that’s just the beginning of religion/state intermingling in this fascinating country. (FYI: These three religious traditions are numerically the largest in this country.). I am visiting Lebanon for a week to explore its “God and government” connections for the radio show I host, “Interfaith Voices.” ”

  3. Nuclear power seems frightening to me too . However , for the sake of democracy , here are links which promote nuclear power .

How has nuclear power changed since Chernobyl?
quote : “…while some risks will always be there, nuclear power is actually safer than ever, and importantly, it could help curb our insatiable appetite for fossil fuels…”

    James Lovelock:
    Nuclear power is
    the only green
    solution
quote : ” James Lovelock is an independent scientist, the creator of the Gaia hypothesis which considers the Earth as a self-regulating organism, and a member of EFN ”
    http://ecolo.org/media/articles/articles.in.english/love-indep-24-05-04.htm
First time I heard and read about Dr. James Lovelock was on Radio Netherlands english service around 2005 . His main concern seemed to be that when the electrical grid goes down , vital necessities would not be able to reach major cities in the world and all hell would break loose, civil unrest and all the rest . He thought that nuclear power generated electricity for lighting, heating, ac, refrigeration , transportation , etcetera was our only hope . Recently circa 2012 he became a fracking advocate which seems a contradiction regarding nuclear power proponents like he was or still is .

    • Nuclear power is an unbelievably polluting dead technology which was only ever advanced to make plutonium for nuclear weapons. That’s really all there is to say about it.
