Vote on Bristol Mayoral system. Bristol Arena move to Filton. Former Bristol Mayor, George Ferguson, on why he thinks we should just have a Metro Mayor. PMQs Council Tax inequalities. Cost of living crisis and foodbanks. George on the ‘One City’ slogan used by Mayor Rees. What is ‘One City’? Building development in Bristol under Marvin. Housing in UK. Bristol Mayor Referendum 2022: what the city’s political parties are saying about it – Labour Party – Bristol is being asked to choose its leadership model for the next decade. The choice is between a mayoral system or a series of committees making decisions for Bristol. The Labour Party will be campaigning for the mayoral system. Having a mayor means there is an elected, accountable, visible figurehead for the city that Bristolians can hire and fire. Under a committee system, you lose your vote you would have no way of choosing your councils leader and no way of removing them. Having a mayor has allowed us to break the political deadlock that held Bristol back. The 2020s are a crucial decade for Bristol. The climate and housing crises need urgent action action we wont get if even the most minor of policies have to be accepted by all five political parties in cross-party committees of squabbling councillors. We cant risk our city returning to the days of the failed committee system, becoming a city with constant leadership changes and political deadlock. Green Party – The Green Party supports changing the Mayoral system for one thats more democratic, accountable and transparent. Bristols current system gives one person almost total control. It lets them bulldoze ahead while ignoring public opinion and scrutiny. Opposition voices are excluded, and different views are ignored. This model works very well for those who have the Mayors ear, but not for the rest of us. One person shouldnt be allowed to decide what is best for everyone else. We believe in consensus politics. All votes matter, not just those cast for a single person or party. Power must be shared. Decisions should be made with communities, because theyre the ones who live with the consequences. Changing to a committee system will bring more community voices to the table, and allow us to plan a better future, together as a city. Liberal Democrats – Bristols Lib Dems fought hard for the city to have a right to hold a referendum to review the system, and for the referendum to happen. We believe that a committee system will deliver a better Bristol. 10 years of the mayoral system in practice have exposed its flaws and failed to deliver the benefits that advocates of the system promised. In addition, there have been a number of changes since that decision was made, not least the move to all up elections and the change to first-past-the-post for any future mayoral elections. Continuing to elect a single individual most likely with a minority of the vote – to exercise executive power at a time when Bristols politics have become more plural will lead to councillors and the public becoming ever more alienated and disenfranchised. A committee system will allow more voices, from across the city, to be heard. Conservative Party – This May, Bristolians will finally get the opportunity to cast their own verdict on a system of rule which was introduced nearly ten years ago and has led to some very controversial decisions. Suffice to say many of the supposed positives did not translate or survive long once they met political reality. For example, there have been no financial savings arising from this reform. The political landscape has also shifted considerably since 2012 following the move to more stable all-out elections every four years and creation of the Regional Mayor. The creation of this body has rendered the role of a City Mayor largely superfluous. However, by far the greatest weakness in this model which paradoxically is also said to be its biggest strength is an almost complete absence of any checks and balances on the executive powers of the Mayor. Here the most obvious example was the unilateral decision to move the planned Bristol Arena away from its dedicated and preferred central location to the outskirts of the city. But we also had the disastrous investment in Bristol Energy. We hope Bristol voters will choose to bring an end to this radical but fatally flawed experiment in local democracy.
PMQs Kier Starmer – UK has highest inflation and slowest growth in G7. Energy company profits and bonuses while customers suffer. PMQs Court case deems unlawful the Governments actions of sending elderly, without testing for Covid, from hospitals to care homes. Partygate. Ukraine war – history of the conflict – and compared to Yugoslavia war. Hancock apologises as hospital to care home discharge policy without Covid test ruled ‘unlawful’ Former health secretary Matt Hancock, who was in charge during the height of Covid, has apologised after the High Court ruled government policies on discharging patients from hospital into care homes at the onset of the pandemic were “unlawful”. Judges on Wednesday ruled the government failed to take into account the risk to elderly and vulnerable residents from non-symptomatic transmission of coronavirus, undermining Mr Hancock’s previous claims that a “protective ring” was put in place for the most vulnerable. Asked about the ruling by ITV News, Mr Hancock said: “Like the prime minister at lunchtime I reiterate the apology to all those who lost loved ones.”

Part Two – Ukraine/Covid/Climate Round-Up With End Times Prophecy Reports
Ukraine war. BBC report by Jenny Hill in Moscow on how Russians see conflict, and also a meeting at Ramstein Base for US to coordinate arms deliveries to Ukraine. Putin and UN chief ‘more separated’ after meeting as Ukraine invasion set to continue – BBC correspondent Jenny Hill claims that Putin and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres are “far more separated than a few metres of furniture’ as Putin and Mr Guterres sit apart divided by the “infamous long Kremlin table”.- In light of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterress visit on Tuesday to the Kremlin to discuss ways to find a peaceful solution in Ukraine with Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, BBC correspondent Jenny Hill speaking from Moscow said: The meeting did not go very well. Putin and Mr Guterres were far more separated than few metres of furniture. Putin and UN Secretary-General were sitting apart separated by the infamous long Kremlin table, said Ms Hill.
Liz Truss, Foreign Secretary, gives a speech on Ukraine at Mansion House – Russia should be pushed out of Donbass and Crimea. Liz Truss’s careless talk fans the flames of war in Ukraine Letters Thu 28 Apr 2022 Can nobody push Liz Truss back into her cage? In her “British war aims” speech at Mansion House, proposing to drive Russia back to its pre-2014 borders, she simply echoed Vladimir Putin’s sick dream of recreating a mythic imperial past (Putin threatens Ukraine allies as Truss urges ‘doubling down’ on support for Kyiv, 27 April). But this is not 1945. The Ukraine war is not going to end with Russia’s unconditional surrender – the only terms on which Russia would leave Crimea. It will probably end in messy stalemate, followed by murky diplomacy. Crimea, casually transferred from Russia to Ukraine on a dictator’s whim in 1954, remained overwhelmingly Russian in sentiment even before the rigged referendum of 2014. The Donbas may have to be partitioned under UN auspices (to the inevitable fury of both communities), as Upper Silesia was partitioned by the League of Nations in 1921. Truss’s insistence on restoring previous “territorial integrity” boundaries to states that the UK supports – Georgia or Ukraine – is to license a bloodbath if Georgia invaded “lost” Abkhazia, or mass resistance if Ukraine tried to suppress Russian identities in Crimea. Ukrainian General, Yan Kazemirovich, on the CIA sponsored Masonic Lodge Master and Ukrainian Oligarch Victor Pinchuk really running the show during the coup in 2014, and all under the influence of the CIA & Ihor_Kolomoyskyi, a Ukrainian oligarch. Ukrainian General blows the lid on international Zionists that are occupying Ukraine, funded by the CIA. He explains that he has no ill feelings towards everyday people of Jewish origin, as they too are hostage to this international government. The General mentions: Mr Yatsenuk – Former Prime Minister and First Deputy of Masonic Lodge of Ukraine Mr Pinchuk – Head of Masonic Lodge in Ukraine (the son in law of former President of Ukraine, Leonid Kuchma) Mr Leonid Kravchuk was the first president of independent Ukraine. Akhmetov, Kolomoisky, and Firtash are Ukrainian oligarchs that are towing the interests of the US State Department and international Zionists in Ukraine. – Ukrainian General reveals the Zionist control of Ukraine Ukrainian General-Colonel Yan Kazemirovich from Kiev exposes the gang that murdered Ukraine and handed the corpse over to the U.S.. Ukrainian General-Colonel Yan Kazemirovich reveals the real rulers in Ukraine – Simferopol, March 7, 2014 The gang of assassins includes Pinchuk, Kuchma, Kravchuk, Akhmetov, Kolomoisky, Firtash, Turchynov, Yatsenyuk, Tyahnybok and the Bandarovites. There are very many people who would like to join Russia. There are very many people who simply want help from Russia. — Ukrainian General-Colonel Yan Kazemirovich He says he’s a retired Cossack from Zaporizhzhia, and professes loyalty to the Soviet Union. He also appeared in this Vice News report: The Day Crimea Rejoined Russia: Russian Roulette in Ukraine War threatens human survival. Help us to resist this evil! We are activists, not spectators. Our subreddit seeks to involve Russia in the global struggle against war and empire. We are not interested in cultural or nationalistic glories. We strive to rehumanize Russia and ourselves, nurture empathy, and deprogram people still caught up in the cult of war and death.
Oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, President Vlodymyr Zelensky and the Azov Battalion. In 2010, the European Jewish Congress accused Kolomoisky of hostile takeover when the mobster crowned himself its president. To their enormous credit, the organization found a way to push him out in 2011. Three years later, following the Euromaidan overthrow of President Victor Yanukovich, Kolomoisky sided with Ukrainian nationalists against Russia. I can see it from his point of view: In Russia, the oligarchs are subordinate to Putin, but Ukrainian politics are more chaotic and regionalized. There he can be in charge. Calling himself jidobandera (‘jid’is a pejorative for Jew, and Bandera is the name of the World War II-era Ukrainian fascist whose followers slaughtered Jews and Poles, sometimes colluding with the Wehrmacht and sometimes on their own), the oligarch, appointed the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk Region, organized a nationalist militia into the Dnipro Battalion. Amnesty International accused the group of blocking humanitarian aid at one point, and the U.N. implicated them in numerous war crimes. Kolomoisky also assisted in the creation of several other armed factions, including the notorious neo-Nazi Azov Battalion, which has been incorporated into the Ukrainian National Guard. …”
BBC report by Sarah Montague, where Alexander Rodnyansky explains why civilians and Ukraine army should be evacuated from Asovstal steel plant. Ukraine’s initial military successes in the first three weeks of the war forced Russian commanders to change their strategy, Rodnyansky told Playbook. “We’ve been able to push them back in certain areas, especially sort of north of Kyiv and around the north of Ukraine in general. But the south doesn’t look too good. I mean, Mariupol, you know, is surrounded. And I don’t think it’s getting much better there.” As the Russian offensive on Kyiv stalled, the Ukrainians believe Moscow changed tack to stem the flow of heavy casualties on its own side, while increasing the violence aimed at Ukrainians. “It seems like over the last week or so, their strategy has been adapted to cut down their losses. So almost a week ago, they already had, like, around 13,000 dead by our estimates. In just the week after that, they have about 14,000 deaths. The pace of their losses has diminished, and that speaks to certain changes in their strategy, perhaps, you know, certain voluntary and involuntary changes in their strategy … They’ve been probably trying to become a bit more careful, actually, to avoid further losses.”

Scott Ritter on Nazis in the Ukrainian Army. Time Magazine – Nazis in Ukraine A Russian nuclear strike in Ukraine: How likely is it? The threat of Moscow nuking Ukraine is virtually zero – but irresponsible actions by NATO may increase the nuclear danger to Europe Scott RitterScott Ritter is a former US Marine Corps intelligence officer and author of ‘SCORPION KING: America’s Suicidal Embrace of Nuclear Weapons from FDR to Trump.‘ He served in the Soviet Union as an inspector implementing the INF Treaty, in General Schwarzkopf’s staff during the Gulf War, and from 1991-1998 as a UN weapons inspector. The director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), William Burns, made headlines recently while answering questions from reporters about the threat posed by Russian nuclear weapons within the context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. “Given the potential desperation of President [Vladimir] Putin and the Russian leadership, given the setbacks that they’ve faced so far militarily, none of us can take lightly the threat posed by a potential resort to tactical nuclear weapons or low-yield nuclear weapons,” Burns said. Burns’ statements were derived from a fact-set being promulgated by Ukraine, the US and the Western media which holds that Russia has suffered serious setbacks in Ukraine and is desperate to salvage the military situation on the ground. Russia disputes this assessment, holding that what it calls the “special military operation” in Ukraine is proceeding according to plan, having transitioned into its second phase, which focuses on the destruction of Ukrainian military forces in and around the Donbass region. Burns himself was unable to provide any concrete evidence to back up his claims about the possibility of Russia using nuclear weapons in Ukraine. “While we’ve seen some rhetorical posturing on the part of the Kremlin about moving to higher nuclear alert levels, so far we haven’t seen a lot of practical evidence of the kind of deployments or military dispositions that would reinforce that concern,” Burns said. “But we watch for that very intently, it’s one of our most important responsibilities at the CIA.” Burns’ exaggerated and unfounded concerns were put front and center on the international stage by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky when answering a question posed by a CNN reporter about the potential for Russia using nuclear weapons in Ukraine. “We shouldn’t wait for the moment when Russia decides to use nuclear weapons,” Zelensky replied. “We must prepare for that.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was dismissive of Zelensky’s analysis of Burns’ remarks. “[Zelensky] says many things,” Lavrov said, speaking to a reporter during his recent visit to India. “I cannot comment [on] something, which a not very adequate person pronounces.”
Mark Musser on Nazis pursuing environmentalism. “Nazi Oaks” details the anti-Semitic historical background to the early German green movement of the 1800’s that was later absorbed by the Nazi Party in the 1930’s and 40’s. While many histories have decried the industrial nature of the holocaust, such views cannot explain the motive behind the greatest crime committed in the 20th century. The holocaust itself was carried out under a green cover because Nazi racism was largely rooted in the Social Darwinism of German Romanticism that laid the ecological foundations for what today is otherwise known as environmentalism. As an important ingredient of the argument, “Nazi Oaks” also demonstrates the anti-Christian bias of the environmental movement in America which paralleled the anti-Semitic bias in Germany during the 1800’s. “Nazi Oaks” describes why the holocaust is best understood as a modernized form of human sacrifice carried out under biological/ecological camouflage that is rooted in the sacrificial oak imagery of ancient paganism. The word “holocaust” itself means “whole burnt offering.” National Socialism was a nature based ethos that pioneered many important facets of what is today called environmentalism, everything from animal rights to nature preservation, from sustainable forestry to a green hunting policy, from Aryan sustainable development to environmental social engineering schemes over private property, from the preservation of wolves to a “back to the land” movement that later even dabbled with organic farming, from environmental spatial planning strategies to stormwater management. The Nazis even fooled around with an air pollution policy that attempted to require industry in the cities to pay for pollution damages it engendered on the countryside. Nazi environmentalism also played a horrific role in the holocaust itself where the wanton slaughter of human beings was deemed necessary in order to cleanse the landscape for German occupation in Poland, Belarus, the Ukraine and western Russia.
