Mal Sainsbury, Allotment holder and campaigner, joins Tony and Martin. ITV West Country report on Bristol allotment prices going up. The Greens who may dominate Bristol Council soon, are against this. Benefits of allotments. Elected Mayors and bankrupt local Councils. No proper consultant before raising allotment prices and regs. Boycotting Israeli goods – outside Cabot Sainsbury’s 10am Saturday 27th January. Palestine protest march on ‘boycott tour of Broadmead’ The protesters are stopping at many of the stores and businesses in Bristol’s main shopping district Protesters calling for an end to Israel’s bombardment and military offensive in the Gaza Strip and the ongoing occupation of the West Bank are touring the Broadmead Shopping Quarter in Bristol city centre this morning on what they are calling a ‘boycott tour’. The protesters are loudly marching from shop to shop, visiting businesses with links to the Israeli Government. The tour is the latest in now-weekly action in Bristol city centre against the military action taken by Israel, which followed the terrorist attacks by Hamas in Israel in early October. A large group of protesters are stopping at each store, and making speeches explaining what the links between that business and the Israeli occupation of Gaza and the West Bank is. The route appears to have been carefully thought through – there is a more static demonstration and event highlighting the plight of the Palestinian people about to start on College Green, which is just a short climb up the hill from The Centre. Jewish and Palestinians are coming together for an event held from 1pm to mourn the loss of lives during the holocaust and Gaza. A spokesperson said: “We invite people of all faiths and backgrounds for a peaceful vigil in remembrance of lost lives during the holocaust and in Gaza”.

Roy Pumfrey, from Stop Hinkley, on the spiralling costs and never-ending building project of Hinckley C. Costs doubling to £46bn, with an estimated end date of 2036. Chinese say they won’t meet these increased costs because theyre being excluded from Sizewell. Hinkley Point C cost ballooning amid further delays The Stop Hinkley Campaign has reacted to the news that the cost of Hinkley Point C has ballooned to £46bn and that the first reactor may not now be open until 2031. Stop Hinkley Spokesperson Roy Pumfrey said: “The Government will have known for days if not weeks that this announcement was coming – we certainly heard rumours. You would have thought it would have provoked them into at least re-examining their nuclear roadmap. Instead, on Monday they decided to waste another £1.3bn of taxpayers’ money on a carbon copy of Hinkley Point C on the Suffolk Coast. Any sensible Government would be urgently looking at the overwhelming case to provide our power from 100% renewables.” “And it’s not just HPC’s costs that are ballooning, the whole project is swirling around making a horrid noise like a punctured balloon. And trying to cram 15,000 workers toe to toe on the site to play catch up will mean H&S rules go out the window.”  What about small modular reactors and nuclear fusion? What’s the alternative to nuclear or fossil fuel energy? Other nuclear power stations that aren’t finished or have problems.  stophinckley.org and Facebook

Great Britain (GB) electricity generation or supply is made up of multiple sources and technologies. The generation contribution of each technology on the live dashboard is taken from the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS). This is produced by Elexon who run the wholesale electricity market and provide data publicly through a web service or API. BMRS’s figures only include real time metered generation, and not embedded generation (see below for more info) and so additional data is obtained from National Grid (NG) ESO for embedded wind generation and PV Live for embedded solar generation. For the live dashboard, 5 & 30 minute interval data is obtained from the BMRS. Where applicable 5 minute data has been correlated to the nearest half hourly embedded data from NG ESO and PV Live. The historical dashboard uses half hourly generation data from National Grid ESO.

ICJ judgement on whether Israel conducting genocide in Gaza – fudged answer. Kenneth Roth article Guardian – The ICJ ruling is a repudiation of Israel and its western backers – by Kenneth Roth Will Israel’s allies urge Israel to comply with the court’s ruling? It would do enormous damage to the ‘rules-based order’ if they make an exception for Israel. The international court of justice’s (ICJ) ruling in South Africa’s genocide case was a powerful repudiation of Israel’s denialism. By an overwhelming majority, the court found a “plausible” case that provisional measures were needed to avoid “irreparable prejudice” from further Israeli acts in Gaza that could jeopardize Palestinian rights under the genocide convention. The public posture of various Israeli officials was, in essence: how dare anyone accuse us of genocide. After all, they pointed out, Israel was founded after the Holocaust to protect the Jewish people from genocide, Hamas attacked Israel on 7 October, and many of Hamas’s statements seem genocidal in intent. Yet none of that is a defense to the charge of genocide. Regardless of Israel’s history, regardless of its claim of self-defense, the means chosen to fight Hamas can still be genocidal. The court found enough merit in that claim to recognize that Palestinian civilians need the court’s protection…

Al Jazeera report on ICJ judgement in the Hague – Israel given a month to behave. ICJ Rules Against Israel in Gaza Genocide Case – The court stopped short of ordering Israel to cease all military activity in Gaza, but the South African representative said the ruling amounted to a de facto ceasefire. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled that Israel’s actions in Gaza could plausibly amount to genocide. The ICJ ordered several injunctions on Israel but stopped short of ordering a ceasefire in Gaza. Late last year, South Africa filed charges in an 84-page indictment against Israel at the ICJ, alleging Tel Aviv is conducting genocide. Earlier this month, a 17-judge panel at the ICJ heard two days of arguments from lawyers representing the South African charges and Israeli defense. On Friday, the ICJ announced it had ordered several limitations on how Tel Aviv should wage war in Gaza, including that Israel punish soldiers who commit war crimes and allow more aid into the besieged Strip. The ICJ was not expected to rule if the actions of Israeli politicians and military amount to genocide. Still, the court deemed South Africa’s claims that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza have sufficient merit to move forward. The ICJ judges voted on the decisions 15-2 and 16-1. The “no” votes came from Judge Julia Sebutinde of Uganda and Ad Hoc Judge Aharon Barak of Israel. American Judge Joan Donoghue leads the court. Before joining the ICJ, she served as a foreign policy adviser in the Barack Obama administration.

PMQs Steven Flynn – unarmed Palestinian man with white flag shot by IDF. Rishi Sunak on Gaza genocide and ceasefire. SNP asks PM to call Israeli actions a ‘war crime Stephen Flynn cited an ITV news report where an unarmed Palestinian man under a white flag was “shot and killed” by the Israeli Defence Force (IDF). The SNP Westminster leader called on Rishi Sunak to confirm this was a war crime, and repeated his calls for a ceasefire. The prime minister said the UK government had been “absolutely consistent” that international law should be respected, and civilians should be protected.

IDF kill 20+ at UNRWA aid centre – Gaza’s Health Ministry blames Israeli troops for deadly shooting as crowd waited for aid Gaza’s Health Ministry said Israeli fire struck a crowd of people waiting for humanitarian aid at a roundabout in Gaza City on Thursday. RAFAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — Gaza’s Health Ministry and witnesses said Israeli troops opened fire as a crowd of Palestinians gathered for humanitarian aid in Gaza City on Thursday, killing at least 20 and wounding dozens. The Israeli military said it was looking into the reports. The Associated Press could not independently confirm the details of what happened. Witnesses and health officials said the shooting took place at a roundabout on Gaza City’s southern edge, where a large crowd had gathered for distribution of food. Footage posted online and confirmed to have been taken on the main road near the roundabout showed hundreds of people fleeing, some carrying boxes of aid, as shots rang out in the background. Men loaded wounded Palestinians onto horse and donkey carts that took off charging down the avenue.

IDF and UK/USA withdraw funding for UNRWA aid centre – Al Jazeera report – UNRWA Aid centre in Gaza hit by IDF strike. US pauses funding for UNRWA as Israel says it’s staff were involved in October 7th attack. Several countries including the UK have paused funding for the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA. It comes after the agency announced the sacking of several of its staff over allegations they were involved in the 7 October Hamas attacks. The UK government said it was “appalled” by Israel’s allegations. The US, Australia, Italy, Canada, Finland, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany have also suspended additional funding to the UN agency. Created in 1949, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, UNRWA, is the biggest UN agency operating in Gaza. It provides health care, education and other humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. It employs around 13,000 people inside Gaza.

Tucker Carlson interviews father of Ukraine man in jail ….? US authorities confirm death of reporter Gonzalo Lira in custody in Ukraine “We offer our sincerest condolences to the family on their loss,” the US Department of State said WASHINGTON, January 13. /TASS/. The US Department of State has confirmed the accuracy of data about the death of reporter Gonzalo Lira, a citizen of Chile and the US, in prison in Ukraine. “We can confirm the death of a U.S. citizen in Ukraine. We offer our sincerest condolences to the family on their loss,” a representative of the Department of State told a TASS correspondent in response to a request to comment on the information that Lira died in jail. “We stand ready to provide all appropriate consular assistance. Out of respect to the family during this difficult time, we have no further comment,” the official added. Earlier US journalist Tucker Carlson said, citing Lira’s father, that the reporter, who was detained by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), has died in prison. Carlson wrote on X (former Twitter) that despite Lira’s American citizenship, the US administration “clearly supported his imprisonment and torture.” Earlier, American entrepreneur Elon Musk appealed to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky with a request to explain the arrest and detention of Lira. Musk announced his opinion on this topic in response to a publication on the social network X (formerly Twitter) by Tucker Carlson, who stated that Lira was being “tortured in a Ukrainian prison since July, for the crime criticizing Zelensky.”

Tik Tok – Neturei Karta Rabbi Dovid Feldman, Miko Peled, Steven Sizer – an explanation of Zionism. America’s Christian Zionists: Israel’s strategic weapon? Benjamin Netanyahu stated in a recent speech that the “prophecy of Isaiah ” would be fulfilled. This is a reference to a Christian evangelical belief in the second coming of the Messiah, which opposes the mainstream Christian belief that the Messiah was Jesus himself. So why do Christian evangelicals — who constitute a significant voter bloc in the US Republican Party — support Israel?

GCHQ whistleblower Katharine Gun on what GCHQ has become….. Iraq War whistleblower Katharine Gun: today’s GCHQ targets British dissidents we should shut it down -STATES OF EMERGENCY: Keeping the Global Population in Check – using fear to grease the wheels of global transformation (2022) by by Prof. Kees van der Pijl “Kees van der Pijl, an author of distinction, writes that the global ruling class or oligarchy used Covid-19 to seize power by declaring a state of global emergency. He explains that the Information Technology revolution, by creating a global information and communication system, was ushering in a social transformation inimical to the oligarchy’s hegemony over society. In order to stop this transformation, the global elite used lockdowns, mandates, censorship and controlled narratives to seize control over populations… Van der Pijl makes a cogent argument. He shows that the ‘pandemic’ is a political emergency, not a medical one. Its purpose was to suppress populations and transition to an authoritarian state and social structure…” PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS “This is a work of genuine scholarship of the highest order, and to read it closely and with an open mind one can’t help but be convinced of its essential truth… This book should be read by anyone who cares about our world. It is brilliant and extremely timely.” EDWARD CURTIN, author of Seeking Truth in a Country of Lies “In this urgent new study, veteran international relations scholar Kees van der Pijl shows how the ruling groups exploited the covid-19 virus to impose a worldwide state of emergency and a psychosis of fear that allowed them to extend their power and control at a time when global capitalism is beset by crisis. Brilliantly researched, impeccably sourced, the story is told in an engaging style and with great analytical acuity. Here is a dire warning against the slide into authoritarianism to contain the revolt of restive populations who can take no more deprivation. It must be read by the broadest possible public.” WILLIAM I. ROBINSON, Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Global and International Studies, University of California-Santa Barbara

Will Islam’s prophet The Mahdi, be the Antichrist of Revelation? Coming Jewish/Christian Zionist and Muslim conflict with object of bringing in global Luciferian faith: With all the talk of a Middle East WWIII will Islam’s prophesied ‘Mahdi’ saviour be the Antichrist? Quite a lot of people are predicting the rise of a Biblical ‘Antichrist’ but there is already a tug-of-war over whether it will be a Muslim… or a Zionist?

Coming Jewish/Christian Zionist and Muslim conflict with object of bringing in global Luciferian faith – Will Islam’s prophet The Mahdi, be the Antichrist of Revelation? Coming Jewish/Christian Zionist and Muslim conflict with object of bringing in global Luciferian faith – Will Islam’s prophet The Mahdi, be the Antichrist of Revelation? Coming Jewish/Christian Zionist and Muslim conflict 1: Kevin Barratt argues that rather than being a Muslim Jesus will come back as a Muslim or at least allied with Muslims since Islam is the only Abrahamic faith which still steadfastly adheres to the Ten Commandments of Moses – he explains that Islam embraces Jesus, not as God but as one of the most important prophets ever and also believes he was born of a virgin and performed miracles because he was almost as powerful a messenger of God as Mohammed – so Kevin says it is ridiculous to suggest that Muslims would follow the Antichrist in any way – he believes the Antichrist will be connected to the Jewish or Christian Zionists and to be promoting theur agenda as opposed to a Muslim one

Ayodhya: India’s PM inaugurates Hindu temple on hotly disputed religious site

India’s Modi opens Ram temple built on site of demolished mosque in Ayodhya – Temple’s consecration marks an unofficial start to the Hindu nationalist leader’s re-election campaign in polls later this year.    India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has opened a Hindu temple built on the ruins of a historic Mughal-era mosque in the northern town of Ayodhya. Monday’s consecration of the temple, dedicated to Lord Ram, embodies the triumph of Modi’s muscular Hindu nationalist politics and marks an unofficial start to his re-election campaign in general elections scheduled later this year. Modi, in flowing golden-coloured traditional dress, unveiled the black stone idol to the deity in the heart of the 50-metre (164-foot) temple in Ayodhya, nearly 700km (435 miles) east of New Delhi. The temple has been built on grounds where the Babri mosque, named after Mughal emperor Babar, stood for centuries before it was torn down in 1992 by a Hindu mob.

Rwanda bill. Jacob Rees Mogg on Peston about the Rwanda bill. BBC QT – Lawyer Hashi Mohammed on how Israel tried a Rwanda system and it didn’t work. Immigration a major election issue this year? Barrister praised for ‘brilliant’ takedown of Rwanda policy on Question Time A BARRISTER who came to the UK as a child refugee has been praised for their “brilliant and truthful” takedown of the Tory government’s Rwanda policy on Question Time. Hashi Mohamed, now a barrister at No5 Chambers in London, appeared on the BBC show as it was broadcast from Peterborough on Thursday night. Mohamed, the author of People Like Us: What It Takes to Make It in Modern Britain, raised work he had done with a refugee in Dresden, who had been through Israel’s own Rwanda deportation scheme. The barrister told the Question Time audience: “Two years ago, I travelled to Dresden, the German town, and I met an Eritrean man who had been deported from Israel to Rwanda. He’d been paid to go to Rwanda. Rwanda had a reciprocal arrangement with Israel to take refugees. “When he got there, the Rwandans said, ‘you don’t need to stay, there’s the door’. And he used the money that he was given to make his way back, that treacherous journey, and he made his way to Dresden, where he sought asylum again. “The Supreme Court in Israel struck down that law and when we got to our Supreme Court, there’s a passage by our learned judges where they said the Home Office hadn’t even assessed the Israel Rwanda policy before they decided to adopt it, so we know it’s not going to work. “It’s unviable, it’s expensive, and the only person it’s working for is the Rwandans. Mohamed went on to attack the Tory government, saying that instead of presenting “real ideas”: “They’re attacking our judges. They’re attacking our rule of law.

Illegal boat migrants economic migrants? Nigel Farage on Peston – Rwanda won’t work legally. Labour Party, Unions and Starmer. Socialised, collectivised, public transport. What happened when Israel sent its refugees to Rwanda – As the UK presses on with its plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda, the BBC has heard evidence that, as recently as 2017, refugees despatched there by Israel were rapidly deported and are now in Europe. Bahabelom Mengesha, a 36-year-old Eritrean man, knows what it’s like to be sent to Rwanda by another country. But his stay there as an asylum seeker was brief. He had left post-war Eritrea in 2010 and moved to Israel to claim asylum. Four years later, his permit was revoked and he was given a choice – be sent home, go to a migrant detention facility, or take $3,500 and a one-way flight to Rwanda. It felt like no choice at all, he told the BBC, from Switzerland, where he has been living for the past seven years. “No sane person would voluntarily go to prison,” says Bahabelom of detention in Israel. “To go back to Eritrea, where imprisonment is part of the culture, this was [also] no option.” So he chose Rwanda. But Bahabelom soon found out he wasn’t welcome in the east African country. No sooner had he landed in its capital, Kigali, than he was told he must leave again for neighbouring Uganda – and all for a fee. It is not clear who was orchestrating his expulsion from Rwanda – and that of other migrants we have spoken to – but Bahabelom believes

Ken Livingstone in 1980s. Technical solutions to climate change? Port Talbot steel works shut. Tata Steel move to axe 3,000 jobs will turn Port Talbot into a ghost town, workers warn – Unions have accused the Tories of lavishing vast sums of cash on the site’s owners Tata Steel only for it to go ahead and scrap nearly 3,000 staff despite a major drive to save the Devastated steelworkers last night warned axing so many jobs at Port Talbot will spark an economic nightmare that could turn the once thriving area into a ghost town. And unions accused the Tories of lavishing vast sums of cash on the site’s owners Tata Steel only for it to go ahead and scrap nearly 3,000 staff, despite a major drive to save the posts. No10 is funding part of the £1.25billion cost of building a less-polluting electric arc furnace at Port Talbot in South Wales. But the site’s two blast furnaces and coke ovens will shut, causing job losses. The Community union, Unite and the GMB said in a joint statement: “It’s unbelievable any government would give a company £500million to throw 3,000 workers on the scrapheap. It is an absolute disgrace that Tata Steel, and the Government, appear intent on pursuing the cheapest instead of the best plan for our industry, steelworkers and country.” Community general secretary Roy Rickhuss warned: “Decisions made now will reverberate for generations to come.” His fears were echoed by Rhydian Mizen, who worked at the Port Talbot site for 38 years. He said: “If no income is coming in, there will be nothing coming into the town, it will be a ghost town.” Another worker, Tony Taylor, 68, warned the knock-on will be “disastrous and devastating”. He added: “This is going to be a major blow to Port Talbot and the wider area. Where we’re going to go after this I don’t know.” One staff member said: “Myself, my wife, my mother and my father all work in the steelworks. My brother, uncles, cousin. So it’s my whole household income.”

James Tweedie’s Mum has trouble with her electric car – Driverless cars were the future but now the truth is out: they’re on the road to nowhere – For all the billions spent, the dream of these vehicles ruling the roads remains just that. It would be much smarter to focus on public transport Developing driverless cars has been AI’s greatest test. Today we can say it has failed miserably, despite the expenditure of tens of billions of dollars in attempts to produce a viable commercial vehicle. Moreover, the recent withdrawal from the market of a leading provider of robotaxis in the US, coupled with the introduction of strict legislation in the UK, suggests that the developers’ hopes of monetising the concept are even more remote than before. The very future of the idea hangs in the balance. The attempt to produce a driverless car started in the mid-00s with a challenge by a US defence research agency, offering a $1m prize for whoever could create one capable of making a very limited journey in the desert. This quickly turned into a race between various tech and car companies (OEMs, as they are now known – original equipment manufacturers) to produce what they thought would be the ultimate cash cow: a car that could operate in all conditions without a driver. Right from the start, the hype far outpaced the technological advances. In 2010, at the Shanghai Expo, General Motors had produced a video showing a driverless car taking a pregnant woman to hospital at breakneck speed and, as the commentary assured the viewers, safely. It was precisely the promise of greater safety, cutting the terrible worldwide annual roads death toll of 1.25m, that the sponsors of driverless vehicles dangled in front of the public. And that is now proving their undoing. First to go was Uber after an accident in which one of its self-driving cars killed Elaine Herzberg in Phoenix, Arizona. The car was in autonomous mode, and its “operator” was accused of watching a TV show, meaning they did not notice when the car hit Herzberg, who had confused its computers by stepping on to the highway pushing a bike carrying bags on its handlebars. Fatally, the computer could not interpret this confusing array of objects….

Chris Skidmore, Bristol Tory MP, stands down triggering a by election. Will Greens take Bristol central? DAVOS WEF meeting.  Full list of General Election seat forecast for Bristol – Tories headed for colossal losses A newly-created constituency in Bristol is expected to be very hotly-contested between Labour and the Greens he Conservatives are being forecast to lose three out of five MPs they currently have in the Bristol area in the next General Election, according to a new model. YouGov found that Labour would win a large majority were the election to be held now, with Keir Starmer sitting on a 120-seat majority. In the Bristol region, the model shows that Labour would increase the number of MPs they have to seven. All of the Bristol constituencies- including newly-created Bristol Central and Bristol North East constituencies – are being forecast to go to Labour. The newly-created Bristol Central constituency is expected to be hotly-contested, with the Green Party hoping to get its co-leader Carla Denyer elected. However, The YouGov results shows a narrow win in the seat by Labour (42 per cent) to the Greens (38 per cent). In the wider region, the Conservatives are expected to lose Filton and Bradley Stoke – which would be going to Labour – and Thornbury and Yate, which would go to the Lib Dems. In another hotly-contested election, Labour is expected to gain Weston-super-Mare from the Conservatives.

Ron Mandel, former Internal Relations lecturer in UK, joins Tony and Martin. How Ron became a teacher and why he came to UK. Davos WEF – list of some attendees. Fujitsu is a major sponsor of Davos. Davos a mixture of business and government – healthy?  Bilderberg secret. The ‘dirty dozen’ of Davos – Autocrats, blowhards and bores: The 12 bad boys of the World Economic Forum shindig in the Swiss Alps. The dirty dozen of DavosIt’s that time of year again: Leaders, business titans, philanthropists and celebs descend on the Swiss ski town of Davos to discuss the fate of the world and do deals/shots with the global elite at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. This year’s theme: “Rebuilding trust.” Prescient, given the dumpster fire the world seems to be turning into lately, both literally (climate change) and figuratively (where to even begin?). As always, the Davos great and good will be rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s absolute top-drawer dirtbags. While there’s been a distinct dearth of Russian oligarchs in attendance at the WEF since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, and Donald Trump will be tied up with the Iowa caucus, there are still plenty of would-be autocrats, dictators, thugs, extortionists, misery merchants, spoilers and political pariahs on the Davos guest list.

US Presidential election campaign. Farage on Peston, as part of Reform UK, on Trump. Role of money in US political system. Trump’s prosecutions. Will Trump win election? Nigel Farage says American democracy in better shape than Britain’s Brexit leader says Trump is ‘going to win this caucus this evening by quite a big margin’ Nigel Farage said he believes that American democracy is in better shape than Britain’s, even as polls show many Americans expect violence to follow the 2024 election, in a possible repeat of the January 6, 2021 insurrection after the 2020 election. Appearing on the British right-leaning TV news channel GB News from Iowa, the Brexit campaigner said the Trump team are “pretty bullish. They really are. If the polls are right … he’s going to win this caucus this evening by quite a big margin”. “To be here and to see the enthusiasm for the democratic process in America – it’s such a contrast to our country. It really is remarkable that all these people will turn out at seven o’clock tonight to vote and some will vote for Trump or some a vote for Haley or Ramaswamy. But it really is an exciting thing to be part of,” he added. Another side to the enthusiasm Mr Farage, 59, is speaking about is that the strong feelings in US politics at times turn into real-world violence, as seen three years ago during the Capitol riot. Just 51 per cent of Americans expect the time after the next election to be peaceful, while the remaining 49 per cent think there will be violence yet again, according to a CBS/YouGov poll from earlier this month. “This is seldom polled in Britain,” Sunder Katwala of the think tank British Future noted on X. As many as 39 per cent of Americans don’t believe that President Joe Biden is the legitimate leader of the country, according to the CBS/YouGov poll. When the caucuses take place on Monday night, there will be no polling places. Party activists will instead host meetings in whatever building is available in their precinct – churches, gyms, and people’s living rooms will be used. A representative from each campaign will get a moment to make their case and voters then write down their preferred candidate on a blank piece of paper.

UK elections – much of a choice with WEF Davos in the background sponsoring all political parties?

Yemen’s Houthis attacking ships in Red Sea, and UK/US attacking them. C4 Gary Gibbon – Yemen attacks discussed in Parliament on Monday. Yemen’s Houthis Threaten ‘High Price’ for US, UK Massive Strikes – The US and Britain have already launched 23 strikes on targets in four Yemeni provinces, local authorities told Sputnik. President Biden confirmed US and allied military strikes against the Houthis in Yemen, called them a response to a threat to freedom of navigation. The United States and the United Kingdom will pay a “high price” for their airstrikes, Hussein al-Ezzi, the deputy foreign minister of the movement, said Friday. “Our country has been subjected to a massive aggressive attack carried out by American and British ships, submarines and warplanes. Undoubtedly, America and Britain will have to prepare to pay a high price and bear all the terrible consequences of this blatant aggression,” al-Ezzi said on X. US said that as of 3:20am, they and UK have stopped carrying out strikes in Yemen. However, the US might resume them if threats and attacks from the Houthis continue. Later a US defense official told Sputnik that there has been no attack against the American Embassy in Iraq and no reports of US warships struck following US strikes, despite some media reported Houthis were allegedly launching retaliation strike missiles at US ships right at that time. Pentagon confirmed the strikes on Yemen, stating the targets were the drone production centres and weapons depots. Strikes on the positions of the Houthis were carried out from aircraft, ships and submarines, writes Reuters, citing a US official. “The strikes were carried out on targets in Hodeidah,” the local authority source said. “Four airstrikes were carried out on Yemen’s capital Sanaa,” said an agency interlocutor from authorities in Saada province. The city of Taiz in central Yemen was also bombed by the United States and the United Kingdom overnight, a government source in the Yemeni governorate of Taiz told Sputnik. “Three explosions occurred as a result of bombing positions of the Ansar Allah group in the area of [the village of] Al Hawban in the Yemeni city of Taiz,” the source said. Earlier, Al Arabiya TV channel quoted sources as saying that the US and Britain launched an operation on Friday night against the facilities of the ruling Ansar Allah (Houthis) movement in northern Yemen. The sources noted that the strike particularly targeted the vicinity of the port of Hodeidah. They also added that five airstrikes hit Houthi targets east of Hodeidah.

Cameron at DAVOS – justifying UK/US attacks on Yemen – peace in Gaza. Iran proxies? What about US/UK proxies? Imperialism. C4 Defence Minister, James Cartridge asked if UK/US will retaliate again after more Houthi ship attacks. Genocide in Gaza and history of situation there misunderstood. ICJ South Africa – Genocide in Gaza.  UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron says the country is ready to step up stop attacks on ships in the Red Sea by Houthi rebels. He also says Iran’s behavior has been unacceptable. He speaks on “Bloomberg Surveillance ” at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

Dr. Judith Brown on Yemen ship attacks – on Yemen war ending as Ukraine war begins. Pakistan Iran strikes. American ‘Losers’ Can’t Pass Through Bab el-Mandeb Strait, Yemen’s Houthis Say The Yemeni militia struck a US-owned ship in the Gulf of Aden on Monday, a day after firing an anti-ship missile at a US destroyer in the Red Sea. The attacks followed Friday and Saturday’s US-UK strikes against Houthi targets as part of the Washington-led response to the militia’s campaign of hijackings and attacks against Israeli-linked ships. US and British forces are no longer allowed to pass through the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait chokepoint linking the Gulf of Aden to the Red Sea, Yemen’s Houthis have announced. “The US and UK forces can no longer pass through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait,” Houthi Political Bureau member Mohammed al-Bukhaiti said, his comments picked up by Iranian media on Tuesday. “The Axis of Resistance has regained control over the region. The Americans will regret their acts of aggression against Yemen and they will be a loser,” Bukhaiti added, referencing the January 12-13 US-UK cruise missile and air strikes inside Yemen, which involved over 100 munitions “of various types” fired against over 60 targets, killing at least six militiamen. Bukhaiti assured that the Houthis retain the capability to confront Washington and to stop American and Israeli ships from passing through the Red Sea, and warned that the militia is growing its missile capabilities and will ‘bring new surprises soon’. He did not elaborate.

World Economic Forum calling for Direct Action by Citizens – presumably referring to Extinction Rebellion but equally might apply to Palestine Action taking out Elbit Systems offices and factories across the UK: ‘Be an actionist’: An environmental trailblazer’s inspiring message to climate activists from Davos – David Saddington shares his unique perspective on climate action and youth access at the World Economic Forum. From being a kid trapped in a storm to walking the halls of power, 31-year-old David Saddington’s life has been shaped by the course of climate change and climate action in the UK. As a 13-year-old, David recalls being stuck in some of the worst flash floods to ever hit his home in North Yorkshire. Fear turned to anger, as he discovered that climate change was driving the torrential rain and devastation he witnessed – and the crisis was way down the agenda of adults. David Saddington shares his unique perspective on climate action and youth access at the World Economic Forum. “It was already clear in 2005 that this issue of ‘climate change’ was going to affect my life and generations to come,” he tells Euronews Green from the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. “So I took it upon myself to make a noise in my school.” But his fledgling climate activism took an unusual turn when he was invited to Downing Street at 14, to discuss the issue with then Prime Minister Tony Blair. He asked the PM to put genocide on the national curriculum – a measure adopted in 2007.

Palestine Action tries to target stock exchange in protest over Gaza. LBit 7 trial in Bristol. Nick Georges, from Palestine Action, on how Police hassled his sister for pinning a note to MPs door, and atrocious situation in Gaza. Man charged over ‘plot by pro-Palestine protesters to disrupt London Stock Exchange’ A man has been charged with conspiracy to cause public nuisance after an alleged plot to disrupt the London Stock Exchange and cause “huge economic damage” was revealed. Five other people – three women and two men – were also arrested in connection with the plot and have been bailed pending further inquiries, Scotland Yard said. The Met began an investigation after being passed information on Friday by the Daily Express. Activists from the group Palestine Action were allegedly plotting to “target” the London Stock Exchange on the morning of January 15, causing damage and “locking on” to stop the building opening for trading, the force said. The Express reported that the plot would kick-start a planned “week of chaos”, while the Met said there was a “suggestion that this was one part of a planned week of action”. The newspaper said the group hoped to cause “huge economic damage” by climbing on top of two revolving doors at the front of the building, armed with red paint-filled fire extinguishers, before locking their necks to the glass entrance using bike locks. Other activists would lock themselves together in front of the main and back entrances, while fake bank notes, painted red to represent blood, were fired from “money guns”. The allegations come after a two-month investigation during which a reporter posed as a member of the group, the Express reported. It claimed to have been in touch with the group’s ringleader, who said on the encrypted messaging app Signal that Monday’s plot was part of a week of action against British institutions “complicit in Israeli apartheid”. A 29-year-old woman was arrested in Albert Road, Brent, north London, and a 23-year-old man was held in Voss Street, Tower Hamlets, east London. Two women, aged 28 and 26, were arrested in Liverpool, and a 27-year-old man was arrested in Brighton, East Sussex. Writing on X, formerly Twitter, Palestine Action said the “campaign to end Israel’s weapons trade remains undeterred”. Metropolitan Police Detective Superintendent Sian Thomas said: “We believe this group was ready to carry out a disruptive and damaging stunt which could have had serious implications had it been carried out successfully. “I’m grateful to the Express for their willingness to provide the information gleaned from their own investigation. It was instrumental in helping us intervene successfully. “Having only been provided with the material on Friday afternoon we had limited time to act. “Mindful of the suggestion that this was one part of a planned week of action, we are in contact with the City of London Police as well as other forces across the UK to ensure that appropriate resources are in place to deal with any disruption in the coming days.” Palestine Action previously told the PA news agency: “The London Stock Exchange raise billions of pounds for apartheid Israel and trade shares in weapons manufacturers which arm Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people. “Whilst Britain remains complicit in the brutal colonisation of Palestine, our direct action campaign will not be deterred.” Several members of the group, which was formed in July 2020 and claims to want to shut down the arms trade with Israel, have been the subject of legal action in recent months. In December, eight activists were acquitted of a total of 12 charges, including criminal damage, burglary and encouraging criminal damage, the group said, while its founder, Richard Barnard, was convicted of criminal damage for his involvement in action against an Elbit Ferranti factory in Oldham, Greater Manchester. Seven activists currently face charges of burglary and criminal damage in a trial at Bristol Crown Court after allegedly entering Elbit’s headquarters in the city.

Palestine Action’s statement on London Stock Exchange arrests – Five activists were released on bail after they were arrested for alleged ‘conspiracy to commit public nuisance’ at the London Stock Exchange (L.S.E). One was charged and remanded to Wirral Magistrates Court, where he will apply for bail. The L.S.E has raised over over £4.73billion in the sale of bonds for the apartheid state of Israel in the past six years. The exchange describes itself as “a key partner to Israeli businesses, by enabling them to raise capital internationally” and trades shares in weapons manufacturers arming Israel’s regime, including BAE Systems, Babcock, and QinetiQ. In a meeting on the 8th February 2022 between the UK Secretary of State and Israeli investors, which included representatives from Israeli weapons companies Elbit Systems and Rafael, it was noted that “The London Stock Exchange has a strong and important relationship with Israel”. This relationship involves the L.S.E holding capital market conferences in Israel and hosting Israeli business on the exchange which have a combined market capital of $14.7billion. The arrests came after an undercover journalist from the Daily Express infiltrated the group and reported the activists to the police. The journalist, Max Parry, joined Palestine Action under the false identity of ‘Ollie Maxwell’, an environmental campaigner who worked in a cafe in Laughton. Amongst his fabricated backstory on how he became involved in the Palestine liberation movement and other false assertions, he falsified online accounts and messages from his ‘manager’ in an attempt to quash suspicion. As an active direct action movement which has consistently taken direct action to end British complicity with the colonisation of Palestine, we’ve caused significant disruption to Israel’s weapons trade. As a result, the state and other bad faith actors have taken several measures to try and crack down on our growing movement over the past 3 years. Now more than ever, as Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people has seen over 25,000 killed, more than 60,000 injured and the majority of the Gaza population displaced, Palestine Action will not back down. We will continue to grow, evolve and remain steadfast in our direct action campaign against the Israeli weapons trade and those who facilitate it.

Israeli arms firm factories in the UK Elbit covered in red paint by Palestine Action. Palestine Action smash Elbit’s cargo contractors: no transport for genocide! – Overnight actions by Palestine Action have targeted the logistics companies servicing the operations of Israel’s arms trade in Britain, disrupting their operations and exposing their role in arming the ongoing genocide of Palestinians. Palestine Action targeted logistics companies belonging to Kuehne+Nagel (K+N) and Palletline, as part of a widespread direct action campaign against Israel’s biggest weapons manufacturer, Elbit Systems, and the companies which facilitate their weapons manufacturing in Britain and their arms exports to Israel. K+N’s Milton Keynes branch and their subsidiary in London, Nacaro cargo insurance, were targeted overnight. At the company’s Milton Keynes industrial site, which specialises in road transportation, activists sprayed the entire front of the building in blood-red paint and shattered windows. In London, others took similar action against Nacora, leaving the office drenched in paint.

Ode To The Davos Crew 2024 by Patrizia Opulenza

The Davos crew all lay in wait
To destroy our lives – as us they hate
Swab with voice – seen spitting tacks
Slobbered words more lies unpacked
A pathetic man on stage all saw
A Megalomaniac – deplored
Podium to Zelensky gave –
Recruiting more for shallow graves
Zel with voice like gravel paper
Burns both ends the candle favours
White dust on shoulder or dandruff saw
A Ne’er-do-well -err’pushing war
A script to read – no brawn or brain
A puppeteer – a man insane
Next subject was The climate scam
Then Bring back trust the latest sham
MPs on jollies from UK
A bribe perhaps but who’s to say
One thing for sure the WEFFY lot
Are full of lies and tricks and rot –
Nothing said is ever fair
They live their lives without a care
To rule the world – with fear and lies
Control their game- in thin disguise
A pack of mobsters – power crazed
Too much wealth -oft brings malaise
Groomed each one – the chosen few
Mission – Poison – in all they do
To destroy all countries – an inside job
A cult no doubt -watch freedoms rob
A sickness deep inside each vein
The WEFFY lot each one insane

Part One News Review and Investigative Reports

Guy Poultney, Green Councillor, joins Tony and Martin. Bristol councillors approve new constitution but mayor declines to vote – Councillors were voting to decide how the council will be run once there is no Mayor of Bristol – Mayoral system has been difficult to work under as a Councillor. Guy’s local issues he’s been dealing with. Post Office Horizon scandal. Outsourcing. Annie Stafford Townsend complaint. Mayoral system will be going in May to be replaced by committee system. Guy’s vision for a Green led Bristol. Public transport in Bristol.   – A new constitution for Bristol City Council has been approved by a vote of all councillors, apart from Bristol mayor Marvin Rees. From May the council will be run by several committees of councillors instead of a directly elected mayor. Bristol voted in a referendum in May 2022 to scrap the role of the mayor after concerns that too much power was concentrated into one politician. This will finally take effect from Friday, May 3, the day after the next local elections. – For months since the referendum, a group of councillors have been thrashing out the new rules on how the council will be governed. The new constitution was presented during a full council meeting on Tuesday, January 9, and passed by a vote which was almost unanimous. Every councillor present in the chamber voted to pass the new constitution, however Mr Rees abstained from voting. He has previously warned the council might struggle without a clear figurehead leading the organisation, speaking to the government and other groups. Green Councillor Guy Poultney said: “This new constitution represents a significant step forward for the city — a move to a less centralised, more collaborative way of working. The constitution reflects compromise between parties and members with different values and assumptions.” Labour Cllr Marley Bennett added: “Drafting something as broad and as important as a constitution is never going to be easy. But so many of the major decisions we made in the committee model working group passed unanimously — or nearly unanimously. This is a constitution that all parties have shaped and have influenced.” Instead of a mayor, directly elected by voters, the council will be run by a council leader, chosen by a majority of councillors. This is how most councils in the country are run. Councillors in turn are chosen by voters, during local elections. Critics of this system say voters are one step removed from deciding who is in charge. Supporters say giving powers to councillors to decide the council leader allows them to boot out anybody unpopular in between local elections — which can’t happen with mayors. Instead of cabinet members, responsible for different parts of the council like transport, there will be policy committee chairs, who will be the go-to politicians for specific issues. These will largely mirror the current cabinet positions, albeit with some minor differences.

Allotments in Bristol double in price. Local Councils ‘have no money’. Bristol allotment fees to double as plot holders launch campaign A consultation has been launched into proposed new charges for sheds, ponds, greenhouses and keeping bees, rabbits and chickens A campaign has been launched against massive hikes in Bristol allotment fees, with some more than doubling. Plotholders say the proposed new charges, which the city council has put out to consultation, will force them off the land. Rent would rise from £30 to £64 for a strip up to 74sq m, £70 to £141 between 150sq m and 224sq m and from £85 to £158 for a allotment 225sq m to 349sq m, and even more for those with water access. Strict new rules would force allotment holders to remove hedges, fences, most trees, glass from greenhouses to “prevent soil contamination if it breaks” and replace it with twin-walled plastic, and large play equipment “to reduce any liability issues for injuries to all persons including trespassers”. The new policy introduces a raft of additional fees, including £15 for a shed, pond, greenhouse or cold frame, £25 for keeping chickens, bees and rabbits, £32 for a new or replacement key and £50 for late payments. Setting up a tenancy would also incur a levy – £25 for individuals, £150 for a collective growing group and £400 for a community interest company. And each one carries a new £35 administration charge on top. Bristol City Council, which manages 4,000 plots, with 1,500 more run on its behalf by five allotment associations, says there are now almost 8,000 people on the waiting list because of the surge in interest in food growing and that just to maintain existing service levels, it needs to increase rents, which were last reviewed in 2018. But Holly Wyatt, who has run a plot at Bedminster Down for more than six years, said the changes would make allotments a “luxury for middle-class households” only. She has launched a petition opposing the plans, which already has more than 600 signatures. Holly said that she and wife Sal, who also owns a plot, had worked hard to transform their overgrown and unloved allotments into productive plots that provided them with most of their fruit and veg. She said: “Our plots are also home to a huge and varied array of wildlife, from newts and frogs to birds, butterflies and everything else in between.

Bristol’s Unique Palestine Museum and Cultural Centre: Walking down one of the most historically recognisable streets in Bristol you might notice a Palestinian flag flying boldly with pride. Since 2013, The Palestine Museum and Cultural Centre in Broad Street has aimed to become a safe space for the Palestinian diaspora to authentically tell their stories. As the sole Palestine Museum currently operating in Europe, it undoubtedly bears responsibility in representing what it truly means to be Palestinian, from its history to a powerful heritage that has thrived in the face of adversity William, a long-term volunteer at the Palestine Museum, said: “The museum came to being because The United Nations decided that Palestine could be a member state but not a country- only observer status. A group of us were worried about whether Palestine could actually exist just as a member state; we were all trying our best in the interest of the Palestinian people to get the message out by forming the Museum. “There are Israelis that also appreciate what we do because it’s very difficult for them too, which is why we are here to show the public, mainly on the Palestinian side, because they need support so that both Israelis and Palestinians can live in harmony.”

Evacuated Barton House residents told they can soon return:. Council ‘U-turn’ over Barton House residents who don’t want to return – ACORN’s national organiser Nick Ballard – who has also been banned from City Hall after the December council meeting disruption – shared private messages he had sent to the Mayor and other council leaders in the days after the evacuation, offering to work with the council in sorting out the issues Barton House residents were experiencing in those unsettling first few days as they were placed in hotels around the city. Mr Ballard said those messages were ignored. Barton House residents to return to their homes. Bristol Housing Planning Committee – people thrown off social housing waiting list. Residents evacuated from their homes on November 14 last year after the council said they feared the building wasn’t safe, have been mainly living in the Holiday Inn in the city centre for the past two months. On Wednesday this week were given a presentation to say that the building has been declared safe, and that they should be able to move back in on February 23, once fire safety measures are installed and repairs are done.

Genocide in Gaza. Does Zionism have a religious aspect, or just a legacy of Empire?

Fujitsu signed a £48million deal in 2022 to maintain the Police National Computer, which stores details of all convictions and cautions, and fingerprint and DNA data. In 2021, an error in the system led to the loss of 413,000 records of police evidence.  Post Office Horizon scandal – where did the money go? Fujitsu to maintain criminal records . Fujitsu handed £3.6billion in Government contracts on Rishi Sunak’s watch – AFTER a court ruled its botched Horizon IT system was at the heart of the Post Office scandal The IT firm at the heart of the Post Office scandal has been handed government contracts worth billions on Rishi Sunak’s watch, official documents show. Fujitsu has been awarded work totalling £4.9billion since a December 2019 Court of Appeal ruling that its Horizon software had ‘bugs, errors and defects’ that were responsible for financial errors blamed on hundreds of sub-postmasters. Some £3.6billion of that has come since February 2020, when Mr Sunak became Chancellor and later Prime Minister. The analysis of data compiled by Tussell, carried out by the Financial Times, comes as MPs demand the firm is barred from any more public work. Former Tory chairman Nadhim Zahawi, who has campaigned for sub-postmasters, told LBC: ‘I think that should cease immediately. Fujitsu should not be awarded any contracts at all until they have actually come forward with what remedy corporately, the current CEO, chairman, board are going to do to remedy this.

Fujitsu involved in Bristol Council, and a major overspend.. Patrizia Opulenza poem about Post Office Horizon scandal. Post Office scandal firm Fujitsu’s fraudulent contract with Bristol City Council ‘needs urgent public scrutiny’ Fujitsu ‘s Horizon programme is a key part in the row over the prosecution of hundreds of postmasters A major contract between Bristol City Council and the IT firm at the centre of the Post Office scandal ‘needs urgent public scrutiny’. Last year the council paid Fujitsu Services Ltd almost £900,000, despite council bosses previously claiming the contract was only worth £118,000. Fujitsu played a major role in the scandal of the subpostmasters — described as one of the largest miscarriages of justice in British history — by creating the faulty Horizon accounting system. Horizon was installed in all Post Offices, and was ridden with catastrophic bugs. Hundreds of postmasters were prosecuted, some jailed and some even took their own lives. But despite the scandal, the council signed a deal early last year making Fujitsu its ‘digital strategic partner’. Opposition councillors are now raising serious questions about how this deal was made. Green Councillor David Wilcox, vice-chair of the audit committee, said: “The first that the audit [committee] heard about the appointment of Fujitsu as the council’s digital strategic partner was in September 2023, after they had been brought on board in February. “This decision didn’t even make the cabinet papers for January, February or March, because allegedly the contract is only worth £118,000 over five years, below the threshold of £500,000 for public cabinet decisions. amining the council’s published spending spreadsheet of transactions over £500 for the past 12 months, where it appears that Bristol City Council has paid Fujitsu Services Ltd £897,539.63. This contract needs urgent public scrutiny.”

US/UK attacking Yemen, after Houthis continue to attack ships in Red Sea. US and UK launch strikes against Yemen; Houthi rebels promise to retaliate – Houthis say all US and British interests are now ‘legitimate targets’. The United States and Britain have launched military strikes in Yemen in response to Houthi rebel attacks on shipping in the Red Sea, raising fears of an escalation of conflict in the region. Hours after the attacks early on Friday, which the rebels said killed five people, the Houthis warned that all US and British assets have now become “legitimate targets”. US President Joe Biden said the strikes followed “unprecedented” attacks by the Houthis on commercial ships in the Red Sea and warned he would “not hesitate” to take further action if necessary. “These targeted strikes are a clear message that the United States and our partners will not tolerate attacks on our personnel or allow hostile actors to imperil freedom of navigation,” Biden said of the attacks by air and sea. The attacks struck nearly 30 locations in Yemen using more than 150 munitions, US Lieutenant General Douglas Sims, the director of the Joint Staff, said late on Friday. He did not expect a high number of casualties as the targets included those in rural areas. But he said Washington expected the Houthis to attempt to retaliate. In a statement the Houthis’ Supreme Political Council threatened that “all American-British interests have become legitimate targets for the Yemeni armed forces in response to their direct and declared aggression against the Republic of Yemen.” Earlier, the Houthis called the strikes on Yemen “barbaric”, threatened retaliation and also said they will continue targeting ships heading towards Israel for as long as its war on Gaza continues. “The American and British enemy bears full responsibility for its criminal aggression against our Yemeni people, and it will not go unanswered and unpunished,” Yahya Saree, the group’s military spokesperson said. Yemen’s Saudi-backed, internationally recognised government, however, blamed the Houthis for the UK and US strikes on the country, saying the rebels bore responsibility for dragging Yemen into an arena of military confrontation with its attacks in the Red Sea. Pentagon spokesperson Pat Ryder told Al Jazeera that the US military is closely monitoring the situation and hasn’t seen any retaliatory attacks from the Houthis so far. “Our goal here is to ensure this vital waterway [the Red Sea] is safe and secure for international shipping and mariners,” he said. On Friday, tens of thousands of Yemenis gathered in several cities across the country to condemn the US and British strikes and to reaffirm their support for Palestinians in Gaza. Mohammed Abdul-Salam, the Houthis’ chief negotiator and spokesperson, described the US and Britain as having “committed foolishness with this treacherous aggression”. “They were wrong if they thought that they would deter Yemen from supporting Palestine and Gaza,” he wrote online. The group’s “targeting will continue to affect Israeli ships or those heading to the ports of occupied Palestine”, he added. Al Masirah, a Houthi-run satellite news channel, reported that the strikes hit the al-Dailami air base north of the capital, Sanaa, the airport in the strategic port city of Hodeidah, a camp east of Saada, the airport in the city of Taiz and an airport near Hajjah. The strikes are the first on Yemeni territory since 2016 and also marked the first military intervention by the US in reaction to drone and missile attacks on commercial ships since Israel’s war on Gaza started in October. UK & USA Acts of War on Yemen: Sunak in Ukraine – on the UK being involved in attacks on Yemen. Ships in Red Sea story  The rationale by the Houthis is that they are targeting shipping with a direct or ancillary Israeli connection, hoping to niggle them over the barbarities taking place in Gaza. As the Israeli Defence Forces are getting away with, quite literally, bloody murder, the task has fallen to other forces to draw attention to that fact. Houthi spokesperson, Mohammed Abdusalam’s post was adamant that “there was no threat to international navigation in the Red and Arabian Seas, and the targeting was and will continue to affect Israeli ships or those heading to the ports of Occupied Palestine.” But that narrative has been less attractive to the supposedly law-minded types in Washington and London, always mindful that commerce trumps all. Preference has been given to such shibboleths as freedom of navigation, the interests of international shipping – all code for the protection of large shipping interests. No mention is made of the justification advanced by the Houthi rebels and the Palestinian plight, a topic currently featuring before the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

ITV report on this too – white phosphorus being used by IDF in Gaza.  Israel ‘genocide’ case: Read and watch Middle East Eye reporting used as evidence at ICJ South African legal team cites MEE videos, and stories as showing Israel’s ‘genocidal intent’ in Gaza Middle East Eye’s reporting on the war in Gaza has been used in South Africa’s case, accusing Israel of genocide, at the International Court of Justice in The Hague this week. Israel denies the allegations. The content includes both text and video produced by Middle East Eye’s teams based in Gaza and Israel among others. It has either been presented as evidence at the court or cited and referenced in discussions. More than 23,000 Palestinians, the majority women and children, have been killed since Israel declared war on the besieged enclave on 7 October. Thousands more are missing under the rubble. It came hours after the attack by Hamas on southern Israel that resulted in the deaths of more than 1.000 people. Greg Felton, author of ‘ The Host and the Parasite’, on the South African genocide court case – Israel turning water off in Gaza. 2000 ships chose to go round Cape of Good Hope – insurance companies. Greg Felton – why do UK/US support Israel? Israel/Palestine similar to Ireland? Netanyahu answering questions in 1978 when he was 28. Greg Felton full interview  The Host & the Parasite: How Israel’s Fifth Column Consumed America is an extraordinarily important book that traces America’s slide into fascism and subservience to a foreign power. Felton argues persuasively that three groups have converged and come to dominate American policy for the benefit of Israel: the neoconservatives, the Republican evangelicals (Christian Zionists), and Jewish Zionists. He backs up his analysis with over 800 footnoted references to government, scholarly and media sources. Felton refutes the traditional progressive view that Israel is merely a client state of America. If this is so, he asks, how has America come to pursue policies that are so utterly contrary to their own national interest while being so highly beneficial to its junior partner? Felton also refutes the theory that ‘it’s all about oil,’ arguing that the First Persian Gulf War was the last American oil war and that the Second Persian Gulf War ignored the interests of American oil companies, increased American oil costs and reduced American national security. How could this have happened? The Second War, he demonstrates, can only be adequately explained by the take-over of American foreign and domestic policy for the benefit of Israel.

Al Jazeera Inside Story about deliberate killing of Journalists in Gaza – I’m constantly amazed by the composure of the Gazan journalists as they describe the most heinous conditions. Starving, lost everything they own, lost people they love AND directly targeted for assassination, yet still dignified and professional. Bill Nash, British Army, who served in Israel/Palestine in 1947 to 1948, on his experiences. ‘State of Terror’ book. Bill Nash talks about serving as a young officer in Palestine before the creation of the Israeli state – In his outstanding analysis of the 1948 war, Israeli historian Ilan Pappe notes that a month after the UN resolution, the Jewish leadership embarked on the ‘ethnic cleansing of Palestine’, beginning with a series of attacks on Arab villages following the vandalisation by some Palestinians of buses and shopping centres in protest at the resolution. The same month the Arab League decided to form an Arab volunteer force to ‘liberate’ Palestine. Known as the Arab Liberation Army (ALA), and consisting of around 5,000 volunteers from Syria, Iraq, Egypt and Jordan, the force began operations in Palestine against Jewish forces in January 1948. As warfare among Jews and Palestinians increased, the Jewish leaders’ plans culminated in a meeting in March 1948 which decided on a ‘Plan D’, the ‘systematic expulsion of the Palestinians from vast areas of the country’. When the British withdrew from Palestine in May, the Jewish Agency declared independence and the regular armies of the Arab states invaded Palestine; brutal fighting ensued between Jewish forces estimated at around 98,000 and Arab forces with around 50,000.

Armageddonism latest: ‘Why Are Millionaires Trying to Destroy the World’ report on Armageddonism by Joe Scott – Accelerationism? This is an ideology gaining in popularity amongst tech billionaires that the world is inevitably heading toward a collapse, and that instead of trying to prevent that collapse, we should rip off the band aid as fast as possible so we can get to the better world on the other side. While there’s a cold logic to it, it’s a dangerous philosophy that ignores the incalculable human suffering that such a collapse would create.

Mike Mandel examines the evidence from former cult members that Freemasonry, Witchcraft and Satanic Cults are strikingly similar in their symbolism, language and blood-curdling initiation rites. Indeed they appear to be different fronts for the same original cult practice which may even go back to the days of the Egyptian Pharaohs, or even further. Historians agree that the present-day structure known as the Masonic fraternity, whatever its antecedents may have been, began with the formation of the Grand Lodge of England in the year 1717 . It is not surprising, then, to find that some of the symbolic and mythological elements in Masonic rituals would appear to be of Pagan origin. Examples include ritual circumambulation, which is rooted in Celtic practices centered around belief in sympathetic solar magic. By walking in the direction of the sun, Pagans believed (as many do today) that they could attune themselves to Nature’s progress around the wheel of the year. Moderns understand the earth orbits the sun, but ancients contemplated a life-giving orb which “rose” in the east and “set” in the west.
