2. preface: this is my opinion , it’s not about pin point facts. and we have to question the facts that government and business gives us.

   Tony, I feel Martin just misspoke , and i don’t believe he meant to point out your parents. I think he meant parents and persons in general losing any money over 35 thousands pounds. There was a crash in Argentina circa 2002. When the economic system crashed working class, common people could get no money out of the banks or cash machines.

   At the time I think i read, i can’t remember exactly, Hugo Chavez and Venezuela bought Argentina’s debt which helped. And perhaps President Fernandez De Kerchner(?)(Or perhaps her husband was still alive and president, can’t remember) then she nationalized the financial sector. Martin has spoken about it before. something called the Corrilito(sp?)

   And what was really interesting workers went back to the factories and businesses and formed something like worker directed enterprises.

   true Cooperatives or also called Worker self directed enterprises would be a good topic for your show perhaps.

   apologies for the scrall , i shouldn’t write anything because I’m just starting to recover from an emotional and physical crisis. i just felt compelled to write something because this is so important, i.e. the economies now. there may be a seed or two in this chaff i wrote….. i’ll stop now for your and Martin’s sake and mine…..

   • Thanks for your ongoing interest in our work. Sorry to hear 2016 has been stressful for you. Best wishes for 2017. The Corralito was when the Argentine middle class lost all their savings to keep the Vultures fed. Actually such scams are all part of the free market text book under the heading “risk”. You really can lose everything you worked for through no fault of your own. That’s why banks are supposed to pay interest, To compensate the saver for the possibility of default. Remember when banks used to pay interest to depositors? Them were the days…

     • Thanks Martin. If memory serves, I think Tony(probably playing devil’s advocate) said If the banking system goes down, the British version of the FDIC in the US(apologies for not knowing what the British term is), that everyone will still get 35,000 quid. In the US you are insured 100,000 dollars. I just don’t believe that will happen in the upcoming crash in the UK and US and probably most of the world.

       Martin and Tony, you are one of the best two man news and opinion show I have ever heard or saw. Please keep it that way mates.

     • Put simply no body is going to get a farthing anywhere under any country’s Government insurance scheme for bank deposits in the upcoming crisis. But the wealthy will not be going homeless and hungry like the most of us commoners. I don’t understand economics that well but i am sure the fat cats will survive.

     • regarding third comment to Martin : firstly, I am feeling a bit better today Martin and Tony. when i use the term “survive” i don’t literally mean it. Again i know next to nothing about economics, but when the next crisis or even crash comes life will be misery for the most of us. for the banksters and fat cats they have enough assets(they probably, i don’t know, have shares in co ops for the wealthy for food, building materials, booze, etc) and they don’t keep all their multi millions and billions in banks.

       I haven’t watched live tv in years. But what i remember is these commercials in the middle of the night for how to make money off of famine, war, economic depressions and recessions. Not only do i find this profoundly immoral but i don’t know how speculators can make money off of such events and conditions. And these other despicable commercials, advertisements on tv on how to become a “nonprofit entrepreneur”. Now if that is not a contradiction, an oxymoron, i don’t know what is.

       I am very grateful to your Tony and Martin for allowing me to comment. I know without anyone telling me I am disorganized and non sequitur. There are real reasons for my style of writing but i don’t want to get personal about myself too much. Tony, Martin and perhaps others are intelligent enough to put the scattered puzzle pieces together. i am so grateful. thank you.

       One other thing is that I think may of your listeners know that your show is not just about pin point facts but also about opinion. And we like it that way. Keep up the banter tony and martin along with the calmer segments too. both are important. I find that when i rant a lot of truth comes out but also offensive stuff, but we know what is grain and what is chaff. Or as you said tony, don’t just believe us on the politicacs show or any news and opinion show. but do our own research too. I do and I think I’m not alone as a listner. although i should do a lot more checking on other sources, but again there are real reasons physical and emotional which make it difficult for me. i’ll do my best in future…i hope :-).

       And most of all I thank you for letting me use one of my pen names, screen names, nom du plumes, etc. I feel i am in a vulnerable position to use my birth certificate name. no im not in prison or the loony bin as a harm to self or others. And that leads me to another topic: mental health. Their is a class of drugs called neuroleptics. Invariably when you seek mental health treatment or are unconstitutionally forced to take these drugs, they are nothing less than torture. The fact is even if someone is delusional, hallucinates, gesticulates wildly on the street corner or even screams this is not proof this person is a harm to self and others. The fact is that those labeled mentally ill account for like 0.7 of all violent crime. Furthermore there is no hard science, like H20 always equals water, that the persons mental illness was cause of his violence. In Alaska it is against the law to forcibly psychiatric drug anyone.

       THIS IS JUST A SUGGESTION. I DON’T EXPECT OR DEMAND IT BE COVERED BY THE POLITICS SHOW. BUT YOU CAN PASS IT ON TO OTHER BCFM SHOWS OR ANY INDY MEDIA OUTSIDE OF BCFM.

3. What happened to Wiltshire county councillor Simon Killane goes beyond hate speech. Slimy persons who threaten your life and/or family’s life is a serious crime, However, I have problems here in the US what is included as hate speech as a crime. e.g(for example, i’ll keep it clean) If you say “Your mother wears army boots” it can reported as a hate speech crime. it’s just an insult. All you have to reply is ” Yeah, and it was your father who gave em to her”

   In short I am concerned about free speech. But making a threat to harm is indeed a serious crime. And if police don’t follow up and investigate threats to harm or kill, they should be reprimanded without pay and some even sacked.

4. Happy New Year, Tony and Martin. This is the third year I have enjoyed listening to your programs re broadcast via the internet. There is nothing as interesting or serious in the East Midlands, in fact probably the UK for that matter with such high journalist standards in the independent media; covering such a wide range of topics as well as things local to Bristol. I also listen to Richie Allen, UK Column, Patrick Henningsen and when I have time watch RT, your are good and have interesting guests.

   PS as a long time listener I also note the comment that Alex Jones is possibly a “limited hangout” He is none the less tremendously useful stirring things up and destablising the consensus reality with doses of truth. When I first started to listen to him, points Alex made about the 2008 “crash” and false flags like 9/11 reminded me of things my Grandfather said in the 1970s about his knowledge and recollection of the 1929 and 31 crashes and banker manipulation, He also predicted that Mrs T would have a War, he was by no means on the right, a trade unionist on the losing side in the 1926 General Strike etc.

   There is an on going pattern which the internet has helped to expose, keep up the good work in 2017.
