Interview with Medieval History Professor, Peter Fleming, from UWE: history constantly rewritten – examples of this; explanation of Middle Ages and previous Anglo-Saxon English Dark Ages; present technological revolution;  Wars of the Roses;  feudal system; Time, space and power in later medieval Bristol; Medieval Bristol was run by Merchants – Merchant Venturers – no Guilds in Bristol, merchants dominated the entire city ans didn’t tolerate any other power bases, and, incredibly, still do; medieval life expectancy around 50; Bristol as a Knights Templar port, Templar property transferred to Knights Hospitaller (later changed name to knights of Malta) who didn’t do black magic like the Templars; Biblioteca Pleyades: Although the crusaders are commonly thought to have been motivated by their deep Christian faith, crusades were actually wars inspired by avarice – Despite being born and raised in a Christian society, they adopted wholly un-Christian practices.
