  1. Firstluy, I’m gladd Ukraine is not joining the EU anytime son. But it has its pro’s too, we enjoy shengen zone travel in Ukraine for instance.

Ok now comrade Martin was correct and you wouldn’t take on board his correct statement that referndums are not legally binding in the UK and many other countrties. Cameron gave the false impression the referendum would be a sure fire implentation “once in a lifetime”, well politicans spin BS all the time Tony, you know that.

“National referendums can be permitted by an Act of Parliament and regulated through the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000, but they are by tradition extremely rare due to the principle of parliamentary sovereignty meaning that they cannot be constitutionally binding on either the Government or Parliament, although they usually have a persuasive political effect.” QED, Martin wins 🙂

ll the government had to do to mitigate all this woe you all suffer in teh UK is to set a minimum majorty of a decent size, 60% at least, The Americans use this type of decent majorty in their congress as part of sureing up their poolitical process and not let a presdent run amok.

The EU is not just some evil conspicrary vis-a-vie the bilderbergs who are connected to the nazi’s and whatver. The EEC and then the idea of a more comprehensive monetary union, the EU was formed becasue nationalism on the continet always ended in blood and it was a union to help ensure that the powers in Europe are so co-dependant on each other that war would be very undesirable economically to go to war.The world Wars, the land of my ancestors Jugoslavia, all that rampant ultra-nationalim lead to rivers of blood. Aybe if Jugoslavia was in teh EU back then, the Balkan wars may not have happened, hard to say if it would it have held the Ustace mazi’s in Croatia or the Chetnik Royalists in Serbia in check. Tito managed it, so there wass the possibility….

Margaret Thatcher said the EU was “communism via the back door” and extension of the Soviet Union

    BUT

Peter Hitcehns says the EU “is a continuation of Nazi Germany” not because of some conspiracy down the line started by the Nazis, but just by the mere fact fhat Germany is the economc power of Europe and “it pays the bills in the EU”.

Interestingly People like the late Mark Storey backed up the Tatcher view from books he co-wrote with KGB defector Anatoly Golytsin who advocated that the collapse of the USSR was a long term KGB deception strategy to fool the west into a fasle sense of security and usurp power to establish a global goverment.

Clearly that is not the case, Georgia and Ukraine are not Soviet communists faking being capitalist as part of this deception strategy although the KGB is in control of Russia, it’s man is the President….go figure….

    Cheers.

  3. re ; Guy Verhofstadt at Lib Dem Conference praising an EU Empire . Evidently Verhofstadt likes empires. I guess the de facto hell raising , exploitative US empire ( like all empires in history ) isn’t enough . What’s next Guy , a reactionary reinstitution of the Divine Right of Kings ? This “Guy” is a looney toon .
