Bristol Waste whistle blower; Bristol Waste street cleaners accused of bullying and cocaine use, ‘toxic’ culture and attacks on woman. ‘It was like being in a prisoner of war camp,’ says whistle-blower Jacqui Probert – Jacqui Probert, 58, claims she endured years of abuse while working for the waste company and felt “suicidal” by the time she resigned last month. The grandmother-of-five alleges the “toxic” culture at the Hartcliffe Way street cleaning depot included: on-duty cocaine use by a street cleaner who allegedly still works at Bristol Waste – 18 physical assaults against Ms Probert by another employee – around 20 men bullying, verbally abusing and refusing to work with Ms Probert – colleagues spitting on the floor near her and branding her a “snake with t***” and “witch” – “lazy” street cleaners refusing to get out of Bristol Waste vans to clean the city’s streets. – Ms Probert, of Filton, said: “The abuse was constant. Tony , I can’t express my gratitude enough for your Dialect Radio program and my gratitude for human beings like Alan Cheshire on Dialect . He commented that he only had the aptitude for what goes on , on the ground in war , and dangerous areas , and can’t give the big picture .On the contrary ! This gentleman Alan Cheshire and persons like him should be top representatives in government and at the UN . One of the things he said or implied was that Rwanda and Sierra Leone massacres and wars could have been prevented by the powers that be . They did nothing . me : After the conflicts theses places were wide open to exploitation from multinational corporations and the likes of US and UK top politicians gave those companies free reign and sided on the winning sides regardless of their atrocious behaviors spawning conflict and during the conflicts .
The same obtains for externally aided or deliberately doing nothing for conflicts in the former Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen,et al . And Mr. Cheshire was “bang on” about the press being propaganda . Noam Chomsky said in so many words it is the common man, woman and child who are the most insightful , rational compassionate , and our upper middle class on up, and leaders are the irrational manipulators and some down right devious ( and they don’t even know it, they sleep at the drop of a hat . that is what’s scary to me anyway ) Alan knew exactly what Jihad means , and our masters tell us Jihad means means just crazy war by sects of islam which it is not . . If anything our leaders in the UK and US support and manipulate fanaticism for their and high heeled friends’ benefit . and so on and so forth …
Listening to your interview of Alan Cheshire was like reading The Ugly American, 1958 political novel by Eugene Burdick and William Lederer , and A Nation of Sheep William Lederer . These novels are about revealing to the everyday American or British person our Aid programs to foreign nations go the wealth, the powerful and militaries and don’t help the lives of common everyday people like ourselves
