First hour News Review:

Furious backlash after Starmer caves into Panorama whistleblowers – Corbyn criticises ‘political decision’ to hand over out-of-court payment to former staffers in libel case lawyers say the party has a ‘strong defence’ against – During the High Court proceedings on Wednesday, Labour issued an unreserved apology over “defamatory and false allegations” made by the party following the BBC’s investigation. At the same hearing, Labour also apologised and agreed to pay “substantial damages” to John Ware – the journalist behind the Panorama programme – for falsely accusing him of “deliberate and malicious misrepresentations designed to mislead the public.” After Mr Corbyn made his statement, Mr Ware announced that he would be suing the former leader over his comments. Len McCluskey, general secretary of Unite — Labour’s biggest donor — condemned the decision to pay the money as a “misuse of funds” and added that Labour had received legal advice that it would win the case.Left-wing Jewish group Jewish Voice for Labour also described the promise to pay damages from subscription payments of thousands of party members as “deeply disappointing.” It also questioned why there was a “complete media blackout” on the leaked internal party report into the operation of Labour’s disciplinary processes and the “activities of several of the litigants.” David Rosenberg of the Jewish Socialists’ Group told the Star that it is “galling” that money from the subs of “poorer and more exploited sectors of British society” was paid out in a case that the party was advised it could win. He added: “In the last five years, people from the poorer and more exploited sectors of British society have been giving beyond what they could afford to support a Labour Party that was on their side, and fighting for a fairer society for all. “To see that money given away in an out of court settlement on a case which the party was advised it could successfully defend, is galling. “As a Jewish Labour member. I’m concerned about antisemitism from any quarter but I know that the common media narrative about Labour and antisemitism, typified by that Panorama programme, does not stack up…

Report Into Russian Interference in UK Elections a Damp SquibElection Meddling Report Finds No Evidence of Russian Brexit Interference, Tells Govt to Look Harder – The Independent Security Committee has said that it “saw no evidence” of Russian interference in the 2016 Brexit referendum. The crux of the report, however, criticised the government for failing to task intelligence agencies to look into the possibility, advising the Boris Johnson administration to undertake a review a claim the government has rejected. On Tuesday, the ISC, the body responsible for the oversight of the UK’s intelligence community, released its report on Russian interference in Britain’s democratic processes. In the case study on the EU referendum, the authors criticised the “narrow coverage” given to the possibility of Russian interference, saying “HMG [Her Majesty’s Government] had not seen or sought evidence of successful interference in UK democratic processes or any activity that has had a material impact on an election, for example influencing results.” In a published response to the committee’s report, the Boris Johnson’s UK government rejected the suggestion they had been blind on Russia, and instead was very alive to the possibility of Russian interferrence. The response noted the criticisms, and said: “The Government has long recognised there is an enduring and significant threat posed by Russia to the UK and its allies, including conventional military capabilities, disinformation, illicit finance, influence operations, and cyber-attacks….

Israel’s Unit 8200 Hackers Investigated For Computer Theft – Ynet reports that two of the most élite cyber war units in the IDF came under suspicion several weeks ago. “Tens” of officers and non-commissioned officers in Unit 8200 (IDF’s SIGINT unit) and AMAN’s Unit 81 (military intelligence’s technology unit) are accused of using their hacking skills to derive “economic benefits” for themselves. The article notes that the hacking of the offenders came at the expense of their fellow soldiers in the Units – Those investigated have such high security classifications that the IDF military police needed to get special permission to examine their computers. Because of a security gag order, Ynet could not report the identities of the specific military units involved. But a confidential and knowledgeable Israeli source informs me that they are Units 8200 and 81. Nor did the story explain what crimes they’re alleged to have committed. Based on the term “economic benefit” I assumed it involved conventional computer hacking into commercial or financial sites like banks or stores. The term hatavah kalkalit can also mean “bonus.” My source has heard a separate speculation more along those lines: that those charged falsified their own personnel data to make themselves eligible for raises or promotions. Either offense would be extremely serious. But falsifying personnel records is much more serious internally to the IDF since it violates army regulations. There is an ethic within the army, false though it may be, that everyone is treated fairly and equally. For there to be widespread fraud within one of the IDF’s most élite units is scandalous beyond belief…

Labour calls for review of Russia Today’s UK TV licence – Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has called for state-backed broadcaster Russia Today (RT) to have its TV licence reviewed on the back of fresh warnings about Kremlin interference in the UKStarmer called on Boris Johnson at today’s Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs) to “stop the spread of Kremlin-backed disinformation”, adding that the UK’s High Court had found “Russia Today broadcasts pose actual and potential harm”. It comes as Westminster’s Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC) released a long-awaited report yesterday, claiming that Russian interference in UK politics has become “the new normal”. Starmer said at PMQs that it was “time to look again at the licensing for Russia Today to operate in the UK”….

The Ancient Spiritual Roots Of Russophobia – The term “russophobia” (the hatred and/or fear of things Russian) has become rather popular in the recent years, courtesy of the anti-Russian hysteria of the AngloZionist Empire, but this is hardly a new concept. In his seminal book “Russie-Occident – une guerre de mille ans: La russophobie de Charlemagne à la Crise Ukrainienne” (“The West vs Russia – a thousand year long war: russophobia from Charlemange to the Ukrainian Crisis”) which I recently reviewed here, Guy Mettan places the roots of russophobia as early as the times of Charlemagne. How could that be? That would mean that russophobia predates the birth of Russia by a full two centuries? And yet, Mettan is correct, although even he does not paint the full picture. What I propose to do today is not to discuss modern russophobia which has numerous causes and forms, but to look far back into history for the ancient spiritual roots of this relatively modern phenomenon. My thesis will probably trigger even more condescending smirks, expression of outrage and accusations of bigotry and racism than usual. That is fine. In fact, I will welcome them as a visceral reaction to what I propose to uncover below. One glaring weakness of my argument will be that I won’t bother presenting numerous sources as evidence for my assertions. Not only am I not writing an academic paper here, I simply don’t have the time and space needed to substantiate all my claims. Still, all the facts and claims I make below are easily verifiable for anybody with an Internet connection. My goal today is not to convince the naysayers, but to offer a few hopefully useful pointers to those seeking to connect the dots and see the full picture. This being, said, let’s now go far back in time…

A cluster randomised trial of cloth masks compared with medical masks in healthcare workers – Objective. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of cloth masks to medical masks in hospital healthcare workers (HCWs). The null hypothesis is that there is no difference between medical masks and cloth masks. Setting 14 secondary-level/tertiary-level hospitals in Hanoi, Vietnam. Intervention. Hospital wards were randomised to: medical masks, cloth masks or a control group (usual practice, which included mask wearing). Participants used the mask on every shift for 4 consecutive weeks. Main outcome measure Clinical respiratory illness (CRI), influenza-like illness (ILI) and laboratory-confirmed respiratory virus infection. Results The rates of all infection outcomes were highest in the cloth mask arm, with the rate of ILI statistically significantly higher in the cloth mask arm (relative risk (RR)=13.00, 95% CI 1.69 to 100.07) compared with the medical mask arm. Cloth masks also had significantly higher rates of ILI compared with the control arm. An analysis by mask use showed ILI (RR=6.64, 95% CI 1.45 to 28.65) and laboratory-confirmed virus (RR=1.72, 95% CI 1.01 to 2.94) were significantly higher in the cloth masks group compared with the medical masks group. Penetration of cloth masks by particles was almost 97% and medical masks 44%. Conclusions This study is the first RCT of cloth masks, and the results caution against the use of cloth masks. This is an important finding to inform occupational health and safety. Moisture retention, reuse of cloth masks and poor filtration may result in increased risk of infection. Further research is needed to inform the widespread use of cloth masks globally. However, as a precautionary measure, cloth masks should not be recommended for HCWs, particularly in high-risk situations, and guidelines need to be updated.

Are Mask-Wearers Collaborators With Evil Cabal Set On World Domination? International best-selling author, Dr Vernon Coleman MB ChB DSc FRSA, explains why mask wearing rules are illogical, unscientific and dangerous, and why those who insist on wearing masks are ignorant and are threatening our lives and our future. For more information, please visit http://www.vernoncoleman.com The transcripts of the videos that YouTube banned are also on the website. Dr Vernon Coleman’s track record of spotting health dangers is second to none. Since the 1970s, when his first two ground breaking books (The Medicine Men and Paper Doctors) were published, Dr Coleman has been gaining friends among patients and enemies among doctors and drug companies. In The Medicine Men (1975), Vernon Coleman drew attention to the dangerously close relationship between the medical establishment and the pharmaceutical industry. In Paper Doctors (1977) he argued that most medical research is done for the benefit of researchers (and drug companies) and that the money would be better spent on using the information we already have and encouraging the public to avoid known health hazards. Vernon Coleman, a Sunday Times bestselling author, is one of the few medically qualified authors writing on medical matters without bias and without any professional or commercial commitments or allegiances. His honesty has made him many enemies among the medical establishment and the establishment’s commercial alliances. His predictions, forecasts and warnings have often been made years (and, in many cases, decades) before anyone else has unearthed and understood the evidence or had the courage to speak out. In addition, in many of his medical books and thousands of newspaper and magazine articles he has drawn attention to the dangers of using specific over the counter and prescription drugs…

Illegal Rave At Airfield Was ‘Too Big To Stop’ -Thousands attend illegal rave at RAF Charmy Down near Bath – Numbers had dwindled by Sunday morning from the thousands police said were at the scene overnight. Police say they did not have the manpower to stop an illegal rave near Bath which attracted more than 3,000 partygoers through the nightThe event, at the former RAF Charmy Down airfield about three miles from the city, began late on Saturday. People living as far away as Bristol complained they had been kept awake. Avon and Somerset Police said despite officers arriving at the scene within minutes of being alerted there were already “many people at the site”. Ch Supt Ian Wylie said the force was aware a major gathering was likely this weekend, but it was unable to pinpoint where it might take place. Once officers were called to the former RAF station, he said, it was too late. ‘No standing army’ “We got the call just after 23:00 (BST) and we were there within 10 minutes but all the stages were set up and all the music was already going with many, many people at the site,” he said. “It became impossible for us to do anything… because of the safety of those partygoers, many of whom were drunk, many of whom were on drugs, and the safety of the officers attending.” He said it was not possible to gather enough officers to disperse such a large number of people at that time of night. “We don’t have a standing army waiting to deal with these issues,” he added. In an earlier statement, Avon and Somerset Police said despite closing off approach routes, officers were still turning vehicles away on Sunday morning. Ch Supt Wylie said the music was stopped just after 13:00 on Sunday and the site was eventually cleared three hours later. Avon and Somerset Police closed the event down at 4pm on Sunday. Local resident Dulcie Walpole said as well as the noise issue, the arrival of huge numbers of cars had also caused disruption…

Second hour International News Followed By Investigative reports:

US F-15 Flies At Iranian Masdar Air Airliner In Provocation Over Syria – A Near-Miss Over Syria And Our Illegal Military Presence – All U.S. forces should be withdrawn as soon as possible before something worse happens. There was a dangerous incident on Thursday over Syria involving two U.S. jets and an Iranian passenger plane bound for Beirut: An Iranian passenger plane en route from Iran to Beirut swerved and dropped abruptly to avoid two fighter jets, injuring several passengers before landing in Beirut, Iranian and Lebanese television stations reported on Thursday evening. Videos broadcast by Iranian and pro-Iran Lebanese media, which said the footage was taken by passengers, showed one of the fighter jets flying alongside the passenger plane, operated by Mahan Air, a privately owned Iranian airline. Passengers then screamed as sudden turbulence seized the plane. In the aftermath, one video showed a passenger with his face and head bloodied, as well as a man lying down, apparently unconscious, while someone tended to him. Oxygen masks dangled overhead. Fortunately, the incident did not result in loss of life, but it should never have happened. We can be grateful that the incident resulted in a near-miss rather than a collision or a crash, but why on earth are American jets getting so close to an Iranian civilian plane that they cause the pilot to swerve and dive? It is doubtful that the pilot took such drastic action without having good reason to do so. Video from one of the passengers was shared on social media:…

Israel Hoping to Start a War With Iran Before US ElectionsSabotages meant to provoke an Iranian reaction – Recent rounds of sabotage attacks against Iranian targets have been consistently blamed on Israel. It’s not just Israel being Israel, according to some officials familiar with the situation, but rather, Israel trying to start a war while Trump is still in power. Israel sees war as a tougher sell if Biden gets elected, while Trump would be easier, especially ahead of the vote. EU officials were reportedly concerned Israel would try to provoke something soon. Israeli officials refuse to comment on specific sabotage operations. Israeli officials concede it is “common knowledge” they are behind some of the Iran attacks, but they don’t want to specify which ones when there are so many candidates. Officials also say their policy on Iran is clear, without confirming or denying trying to suck the US into a war.

Richie Allen on the coming YouTube Mass Censorship Channel Shutdown When Covid-19 Vaccine Is Released Howya friends. Little bit of news. I’ve a couple of mates who work for Google. They both must remain anonymous of course. They drip feed me bits of information from time to time. Around four years ago, one of them told me that the demonetisation of alternative news channels would become standard. He was right as I learned when my original YouTube channel, which had nearly 100,000 subscribers, was deleted for no reason, three years ago. I heard from him this morning. He told me two things. He said that when the covid vaccine is ready, or shortly before then, Google/YouTube is planning to take down thousands of channels that have traditionally hosted open discussion around vaccine safety. They will do this he said, in tandem with Facebook and Twitter. According to him, discussions between all three have already taken place. He reckons it’ll be the biggest culling to date, of content creators and independent vloggers/commentators. While this may be unsurprising, it is important news and I trust him implicitly. He also said that it is his belief (and I’ve said as much myself) that Russian interference claims are nothing but a smokescreen for mass censorship. They (the royal they), know damn well that the Russians are not responsible for spreading anti-vaccine information online, pro-Brexit propaganda or information about 5G. They KNOW he said, that these initiatives are grassroots organisations, set up by genuinely concerned citizens, but that the easiest way to legislate for them and ultimately to censor them, is to blame Russia. Problem Reaction Solution. He’s right. Again I have said as much many times. Last year, Professor Julian Petley, one of the UK’s finest journalists and teachers, told me before an interview that he was worried about me. He’d been attending journalist conferences and one or two conferences on fake news. Julian is an unswerving proponent of free speech. He said my name was coming up a lot and that there may be some movement against me or the show. When I told him that I wasn’t working for anyone and was broadcasting from a home studio rather than a radio station, he was somewhat relieved, but nonetheless told me to watch my back. This morning, my Google mate said that The RA Show is on a shortlist of programmes to not only be removed from YouTube (which I don’t care about at all), but also to be removed from Google search results too. He said the RA show replacement channel, which has 31,000 subs, has in reality many more, but they’re not being counted. Worse still he said, the viewing numbers are fixed so that less than one in ten views are shown. The point of this he went on, is to dissuade people from watching, people apparently being more inclined to watch content that’s showing hundreds of thousands of views. Now I couldn’t give a fiddlers about YT viewing figures or subscribers as you well know. The bulk of my audience listens live as it is a live radio show, or they grab the podcast from iTunes, Spotify, Podomatic etc. And viewing/listening numbers say nothing about the quality of a show in any case, but it’s important to note this, cos they ain’t just doing it to me. Asked if there’s any concern among his fellow employees about what is happening, my mate said no. Or at least nobody has said anything. Maybe they are like him, worried about the prospect of losing a tech job, being labelled a troublemaker and struggling to get another one. Share this widely as your favourite Youtubers need to know that this mass cull is coming to coincide with the arrival of the covid-vaccine, so that they can back up their videos, something which they should be doing, but many don’t. Anyhow, thanks for reading.

Prime suspect ‘kills himself’ after son of Epstein case judge is shot deadDistrict court judge Esther Salas was downstairs in her basement at home in North Brunswick, New Jersey when a shooter dressed as a delivery driver killed her son and attacked her husband. The son of a judge who presided over one of Jeffrey Epstein’s court cases has died and an “anti-feminist” attorney is the prime suspect in the killing. A gunman dressed as a FedEx delivery driver came to the home of district court judge Esther Salas, 51, on Sunday evening. Her son Daniel Anderl, 20, was killed in the attack and her defense attorney husband Mark Anderl, 63, was critically injured. Roy Den Hollander, the suspect in the shooting, later died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, CNN reported. Den Hollander was an attorney who once argued a case before Judge Salas and had trashed her in a self-published book he wrote this year…

Grand Deception: The Truth About Bill Browder, the Magnitsky Act and Anti-Russian Sanctions (2018) – Bill Browder, the false crusader for justice and human rights and the self-styled No. 1 enemy of Vladimir Putin, has perpetrated a brazen and dangerous deception upon the Western world. This book traces the anatomy of this deception, unmasking the powerful forces that are pushing the Western world toward yet another great war with Russia. Suppressed and banned by the CIA’s supplier, Amazon, The Grand Deception: The Browder Hoax is a highly intelligent, frank and entertaining take-down of one of the biggest hoaxes ever perpetrated on the US public and the world – The Magnitsky Act. Krainer’s study of Bill Browder’s book and actions is a riveting, unflinching expose of what might end up being pivotal in revealing one of this decade’s big hoaxes. In 2015, Bill Browder published “Red Notice” – purportedly a true story about his experience in Russia. Upon closer scrutiny however, his story doesn’t add up and demonstrably fails to stand up in a court of law. Nonetheless, on the dubious strength of that story, Browder has been able to lobby the U.S. Congress to pass the Magnitsky Act in 2012 which needlessly damaged the relations between the U.S. and Russia. Mark Twain warned us long ago about the “loud little handful,” shouting for war. Bill Browder has been one of the loudest and most effective among that loud little handful clamoring for a new Cold War with Russia. Where he failed in courts of law, his campaign of relentless demonization of Russia and of Vladimir Putin has been successful in the court of public opinion in the West. As humanity finds itself on the precipice of yet another great war, what we need are bridges of mutual understanding and constructive engagement, not demonization. This book’s modest hope is to contribute to the construction of those bridges for I believe that the people of the United States and Russia, to whom this book is dedicated, hold the keys to the future of humanity…

First hour News Review:  Statue of black woman put in place of Colston in Bristol, of Black Lives Matter protester, by vile twisted artist Mark QuinnA cynical publicity stunt – Ex-partner of Bristol slaver statue artist Marc Quinn says he’s an ‘oppressor’ whose ‘medium is exploitation’ He was painted a right-on hero this week for creating a statue of the Black Lives Matter protester, Jen Reid. But has provocative artist Marc Quinn, who once made a bronze statue of supermodel Kate Moss in a compromising yoga position, been hoist by his own petard? For I can reveal his latest work, A Surge Of Power, which was secretly erected on the Bristol plinth where the statue of slave trader Edward Colston used to stand, has also served to disgruntle a former lover. Four months missed education for nothing? School shutdowns have been a complete waste of time – Tests in France and Germany show Coronavirus doesn’t spread through schools – German study finds no evidence coronavirus spreads in schools – Schools do not play a major role in spreading the coronavirus, according to the results of a German study released on Monday. The study, the largest carried out on schoolchildren and teachers in Germany, found traces of the virus in fewer than 1 per cent of teachers and children. Scientists from Dresden Technical University said they believe children may act as a “brake” on chains of infection. Prof Reinhard Berner, the head of pediatric medicine at Dresden University Hospital and leader of the study, said the results suggested the virus does not spread easily in schools. “It is rather the opposite,” Prof Berner told a press conference. “Children act more as a brake on infection. Not every infection that reaches them is passed on.” The study tested 2,045 children and teachers at 13 schools — including some where there have been cases of the virus. But scientists found antibodies in just 12 of those who took part. “This means that the degree of immunization in the group of study participants is well below 1 per cent and much lower then we expected,” said Prof Berner. “This suggests schools have not developed into hotspots.”..   – School Children Don’t Spread Coronavirus, French Study Shows – School kids don’t appear to transmit the new coronavirus to peers or teachers, a French study found, weighing in on the crucial topic of children’s role in propagating Covid-19. Scientists at Institut Pasteur studied 1,340 people in Crepy-en-Valois, a town northeast of Paris that suffered an outbreak in February and March, including 510 students from six primary schools. They found three probable cases among kids that didn’t lead to more infections among other pupils or teachers. The study confirms that children appear to show fewer telltale symptoms than adults and be less contagious, providing a justification for school reopenings in countries from Denmark to Switzerland. The researchers found that 61% of the parents of infected kids had the coronavirus, compared with about 7% of parents of healthy ones, suggesting it was the parents who had infected their offspring rather than the other way around….

Are masks a good idea? Unmasking the Truth: Studies Show Dehumanizing Masks Weaken You and Don’t Protect You – Dehumanizing masks have sadly become a part of the new normal in many states and nations around the world. Many local and state governments are forcing people to wear them, and many businesses are dutifully toeing the official line and refusing entry to customers who don’t wear them. Apart from the obvious truth that widespread mask usage has a deliberately dehumanizing effect (in line with the transhumanist synthetic agenda), many scientific studies show that masks serve no useful medical purpose for healthy people. Masks weaken you by causing hypercapnia (increased carbon dioxide) and hypoxia (decreased oxygen). They are designed for surgeons (so they don’t accidentally transmit bodily fluids like saliva into a patient they are operating upon) or for sick people (so they don’t infect others via large respiratory droplets). Scientifically speaking, they don’t stop healthy people from getting infected! Below is the evidence showing this. This will leave you with the inescapable conclusion that these masks are not about protecting health – but rather about control, dehumanization and the destruction of health...

Police chief says ‘absurd’ face mask rule will be impossible to enforce – Police chief says ‘absurd’ face mask rule will be impossible to enforceNew rules making the wearing of face masks compulsory in shops will be ‘nigh-on impossible’ to enforce, police officers have said. The Government announced last night that it will become mandatory for people to wear face coverings in shops and supermarkets across England from July 24. Anyone failing to comply with the order could face a fine of up to £100. Environment Secretary George Eustice said this morning that retailers ‘will have a role to play’ in ensuring customers abide by the rule, but added that ‘when it comes to that final sanction of issuing a penalty that is something that only the police can do’. Ken Marsh, chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation, which represents rank-and-file officers in London, called the policy ‘absolutely absurd’ and said it will be ‘impossible for enforcement’. They can quite easily put signs up on their doors “No mask on, no entry, this is private property”. ‘That’s the first point we need to get across because this cannot all be laid on the shoulders of the police yet again. ‘The second point is it will be nigh-on impossible for enforcement because you won’t have a police officer on every shop door because there isn’t enough of us. ‘If a shopkeeper calls the police because someone hasn’t got a mask on, they haven’t got the power to detain them so that person can just walk away. ‘We’ll be driving around and around London looking for people who aren’t wearing masks, it’s absolutely absurd.

Graph of cases of Covid 19 in UK Status of COVID-19 –  Covid-19 hospital deaths in England by date of death, with 3-day moving average trendline (the thicker line). (Note that numbers in grey area may increase over the next few days.) NHS England data –  As of 19 March 2020, COVID-19 is no longer considered to be a high consequence infectious disease (HCID) in the UK. The 4 nations public health HCID group made an interim recommendation in January 2020 to classify COVID-19 as an HCID. This was based on consideration of the UK HCID criteria about the virus and the disease with information available during the early stages of the outbreak. Now that more is known about COVID-19, the public health bodies in the UK have reviewed the most up to date information about COVID-19 against the UK HCID criteria. They have determined that several features have now changed; in particular, more information is available about mortality rates (low overall), and there is now greater clinical awareness and a specific and sensitive laboratory test, the availability of which continues to increase. The Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens (ACDP) is also of the opinion that COVID-19 should no longer be classified as an HCID….

Julian Lewis MP, new head of Intelligence and Security Committee – Senior Tory kicked out of party after intelligence committee coup – Julian Lewis has whip removed after working with rivals to defeat PM’s choice for key role. Boris Johnson removed senior Conservative MP Julian Lewis from the party on Wednesday night after he worked with rival politicians to defeat Downing Street’s preferred candidate to chair the UK’s influential intelligence and security committee. Mr Johnson had planned to install the former transport secretary Chris Grayling as the new chair of the body, which oversees the work of Britain’s main intelligence agencies, MI6, MI5 and GCHQ. But in a dramatic Westminster coup, Labour and Scottish National party MPs worked with Mr Lewis, who had only declared himself as a candidate a few hours before the vote, to overturn the government’s majority on the committee and defeat Mr Grayling. The retribution for Mr Lewis, a Eurosceptic and a former chair of parliament’s defence committee, came swiftly, with Downing Street insiders confirming that the whip had been removed from the veteran MP….

Major Ian Mattison (Rtd.) dies – as a former Royal Arch Freemason, he discussed the skull and crossbones used in Masonic initiation rite ceremonies. Special: review of ‘Inside The Freemasons’, Sky TV series April/May 2017 Former Freemason Ian Mattison joins us for a special programme today looking at a series airing on Sky TV this month called ‘Inside The Freemasons’. This is a critical review because the series is advertised as a genuine attempt to probe the secrets of the Masons but, according to Ian, does nothing of the sort. Much of the information presented is not genuine, showing, for exampe, a fast progression for new members through the craft which is a deceprion and seems designed to give false hopes to new members of how quickly they may be able to progress through the ‘degrees’ of initiation. These initiation rites, too, are ‘censored’ with the most frightening parts not shown in the series, presumably because Sky viewers may think twice about being subjected to those initiation rites which include repeated threats of death of the candidate and his voluntary submission, or agreement his being murdered. All-in-all The Craft is whitewashed an far from being an investigation into Freemasonry, it is a crude advertisement for the Masonic brotherhood.

Phoenicians, Hiram Abiff, and building the Jewish Temple: Writer and film-maker Lindsay McCauley travelled to Tunisia from Australia. While researching a book about Mayan architecture, he has drawn parallels between measurement systems used by the Mayans, the ancient Israelites and ancient Egyptians. “I can think of no other way for that measurement system to reach Mexico other than via a Phoenician ship, so this expedition is a crucial part of my research.” The crossing of the Atlantic is close to Yuri Sanada’s heart. In 2000, he published his book Solomon’s Gold – a bestseller in Brazil – which posits that Biblical mentions of the land of Ophir, from where gold was brought, was actually modern-day Brazil and that the traders were Phoenicians.

Court case concludes a privacy shield for data. – EU’s top court invalidates data-sharing pact with US – The ruling could require EU regulators to vet any new transfers due to concerns that the US can snoop on people’s data. The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has invalidated an agreement that allows big tech companies to transfer data to the United States. Thursday’s ruling against Privacy Shield could require regulators to vet any new transfers due to concerns that the US government can snoop on people’s data for national security reasons. It will no longer simply be assumed that tech companies like Facebook will adequately protect the privacy of its European users’ data when it sends it to the US. Rather, the EU and the US will likely have to find a new agreement that guarantees that Europeans’ data is afforded the same privacy protection in the US as it is in the EU, which has some of the toughest standards in the world. The case began after former US National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden revealed in 2013 that the US government was snooping on people’s online data and communications. The revelations included detail on how Facebook gave US security agencies access to the personal data of Europeans….

Second hour International News Followed By Investigative reports: Israel want a war with Iran before US elections. – Israel keeps blowing up military targets in Iran, hoping to force a confrontation before Trump can be voted out in November, sources sayIran has suffered a series of bombings and fires at military facilities in recent weeks, including at major missile-production and nuclear facilities. This is part of a wider campaign to damage Iran or even pressure it into military confrontation before the November election, when President Donald Trump could be voted out, sources told Insider. A former Israeli defense official told Insider it was common knowledge that at least some of the latest attacks in Iran were done by Israeli intelligence. An EU official also told Insider that they feared Israel was planning to provoke Iran into military confrontation “while Trump remains in office.” Israel would not be able to engage in such high-pressure operations if Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, were in office, the EU official added….

Two Turkish police officers escort Shamima Begum’s groomer Muhammad al-Rasheed following his arrest in Şanlıurfa in March 2016

Shamima Begum groomed by western intelligence. Did Canadian taxpayers foot Islamic State’s recruitment bill? The horrifying case of Kadiza Sultana: are Western intelligence services spying on or aiding jihadist terrorists? Two days of national press coverage were given in August 2016 to the death of London schoolgirl Kadiza Sultana (pictured above), 16, who had travelled to Syria with two friends, reportedly to fight for the Islamic State (IS) group. Labour MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, Rushanara Ali, told BBC Radio 4’s flagship “Today” programme on 12 August that Sultana’s case must prompt a full review of the British government’s anti-radicalisation strategy, called “Prevent”. The allegation in all of the London media coverage of Kadiza and her two friends, Shamima Begum, 15, and Amira Abase, 15, was that the schoolgirls chose to travel to Syria of their own free will after becoming radicalised online. Not a single London journalist, though, asked the burning question: Who got her to Syria? There is no excuse in the internet age for not putting two and two together here because there are several reports from March 2015 quoting a Turkish police report on Syrian national Muhammad al-Rasheed, who says he met the girls after their flight from London Gatwick airport to Istanbul and took them to the Syrian border. He was subsequently arrested by Turkish police and gave them a full statement about who he had been smuggling and, more importantly, who he had been working for. He approached the Canadian government, he says, in 2013 who recruited him and provided him with a laptop, mobile phone and money. He promised to email details of all those he smuggled, to his Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) contact, “Matt”. Al-Rasheed told his Turkish interrogators that the CSIS promised to give him citizenship if he would gather information about IS and share it with them. Al-Rasheed explained he met Kadiza, Shamima and Amira, in Istanbul’s Esenler coach station, bought their tickets, after and arranging meetings on WhatsApp, delivered them to one “Abu-Kaka” in Gaziantep, 40 miles from the Syrian border. According to Al-Rasheed, British national Abu-Kaka’s real name was Ilhami Bali and he took the girls the final 40 miles or so into Syria to join IS….

PMQs aid to Syria – sanctions on Syria. PMQs Group Captain John Hemmingway, last WW2 pilot. Yemeni children dying – Saudis – Revealed: Hundreds of Saudi and Gulf military personnel trained in Britain as Yemen war continues – New data shows Britain’s Royal Air Force trained Saudi personnel in 2019 on fighter jets used to bomb civilians in Yemen – a country on the brink of famine – while UK soldiers coached other forces in the Saudi-led coalition at nearly a dozen army bases in Britain. Hundreds of Saudi military personnel received training at Royal Air Force (RAF) bases in the UK in 2019 – the same year a court banned new exports of British-made weapons to Saudi Arabia over human rights concerns in the Yemen war. Data obtained by Declassified UK from the Ministry of Defence (MOD) shows that 310 Saudis trained at six RAF sites in England and Wales last year. Some training for Saudi pilots is still under way, with courses lasting up to four years…

King Edward VIII tells German diplomats to blitz London – Edward VIII was a Nazi sympathiser who WANTED Britain to be bombed into submission by Hitler, claims historian – UK-based Nazi expert Karina Urbach said Edward blamed Jews for WW2He allegedly wanted Germany to emerge victorious from the conflict Suggested ‘effective’ bombing of England could bring peace to Europe – Less than a month later the Nazis started their deadly air raids on Britain – Edward VIII was a secret Nazi who blamed Jews for the Second World War and wanted Britain to be bombed into submission by Adolf Hitler’s Luftwaffe, a German historian has claimed. UK-based Nazi expert Karina Urbach said the former King – who famously abdicated the throne in December 1936 – was extremely anti-Semitic and hoped the conflict would be won by Germany. Edward, known as the Duke of Windsor after giving up the crown, was known to be sympathetic to the Nazis having been photographed meeting Hitler and giving full Nazi salutes during the 1930s. But Urbach claimed that ‘the extent of his betrayal could never be fully verified’ thanks to the secrecy of the Royal archives, adding she had only be able to reveal it thanks to a decade of painstaking research on the Nazi party’s links to a number of European aristocrats….

Hagia Sofia Cathedral becomes a Mosque – Vladimir Golstein on the history of the Cathedral, a Byzantium masterpiece, – Prof. Vladimir Golstein: Without Hagia Sophia, there wouldn’t be Russian OrthodoxyWithout Hagia Sophia, there wouldn’t be Russian Orthodoxy. At least, if you believe Russian Primary Chronicle (the XII century text known to us only in its XIV century variant), which told us how Kievan prince Vladimir had been choosing the “true” religion for the pagan Russians. He dismisses Islam, since “drinking is the joy of Russia, and we can’t exist without this pleasure.” He mocks the Jews for not substantiating their faith with territorial possession. But then he can’t choose between the western and eastern brands of Christianity. So he sends envoys to different countries to witness and report. And that’s what they brought back: “Then we went to Germans and saw them performing many ceremonies in their temples, but we beheld no glory there. Then we went to Greece and the Greeks led us to the edifices where they worship their God, and we knew not whether we were in heaven or on earth. For on earth there is no such splendor or such beauty, and we are at a loss how to describe it. We only know that God dwells there among men, and their service is fairer than the ceremonies of other nations. For we cannot forget that beauty. Every man, after tasting something sweet, is afterward unwilling to accept that which is bitter, and therefore, we cannot dwell longer here.”
And yes, it was Hagia Sophia that Vladimir’s envoy visited and where they were stung by the beauty. More than stung. Transformed, transfigured, converted….

First hour News Review:

Matt, former employee of waste contractor May Gurney, discusses the waste service in Bristol and Bristol Waste’s inability to collect rubbish: bullying; Pyrolysis plant at Avonmouth where plastic is turned into diesel, giving off pollutants; Julian Parry’s waste system;

Biomass gasification & pyrolysis – How UK support for ‘energy innovation’ leads to business failures and particularly inefficient and dirty biomass power stations This Biofuelwatch report focuses on biomass (including waste wood) rather than non-biomass waste gasifiers and pyrolysis plants. However, the policy framework and subsidies are largely identical for both, and the technologies – and therefore the technical challenges – are very similar. The findings in the report will therefore be relevant to Municipal Solid Waste gasifiers and pyrolysis reactors, too. Biofuelwatch has identified 40 biomass and pyrolysis plants with a capacity of at least 1 MW which have been proposed across the UK in recent years. At least 9 such plants have been built, though some of them may never have been fired up. 8 of these gasifiers have failed and been shut down. Two have been redesigned and re-opened. One of them (supposedly a pyrolysis plant rather than a gasifier) appears to have generated no energy as yet and the other one, according to the most recent published evidence, was operating at less than one-tenth of its capacity for the first five months, indicating technical problems. One company claims to have built another biomass gasifier but Biofuelwatch could find no planning consent for that one and there are contradictory statements from two other companies that also claim to be behind this plant. By comparison, Biofuelwatch is aware of 13 conventional biomass power stations built in the UK with at least 15 MW capacity, none of which have been shut down….

Bristol: St Pauls fly-tipping like living in slum, say residents – Specially designed communal bins were installed in 2010 to be used in place of individual wheelie and recycling binsFly-tipping has led to “slum-like” conditions in one area of Bristol, residents claim. People living in St Pauls say communal bins are overflowing with “mountains” of rubbish left on the street and the council is not tackling it. Emma Reynolds described it as “soul-destroying” and said she avoided trips out because she could not cope mentally with the piles of litter. Bristol’s mayor told residents he has deployed extra waste crews to the area. But residents say that when they have reported fly-tipping to the council, the authority has failed to do anything about it within the promised 48-hour period….

Bulgarian Waste Mafia Arrested: Bulgaria’s deputy environment minister, facing criminal charges, dismissed – Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borissov has fired Deputy Environment Minister Krassimir Zhivkov, the government press service said on June 1, following Zhivkov’s arrest on May 28 on criminal chargesZhivkov and nine others face charges related to crimes involving hazardous waste imports and management. He has been remanded in custody, along with business person Atanas Bobokov and three others allegedly involved in organised crime. The Prosecutor-General’s office said earlier that of those facing charges, seven are accused of being part of an organised crime group, while three face tax evasion charges. An investigation began in January after a large amount of unseparated waste imported from Italy was found in Bulgaria’s town of Pleven. Among the allegations are that Zhivkov pressured subordinates to grant permits to process unseparated waste to companies that did not meet the legal requirements to do so. Prosecutors allege that Environment Ministry staff that were unwilling to comply were forced out of their jobs. Prosecutors also allege that the former head of the environmental inspectorate in Pleven was involved in the scheme….

Barrages and tidal energy. David Ord, Merchant Venturer and Tory donor: With these abridged version of events the land was sold to the Bristol Port Company, with the council retaining a 12.5% non-voting share, unconnected to the freehold. The Bristol Port Company owner Terence Mordaunt proclaimed “the city’s decision to sell the freehold is a vindication of the Mayoral system…”The decision to sell at that value may or may not have been a good one for financial reasons. £1m will be allocated to the Avonmouth & Lawrence Weston Neighbourhood Partnership. The use of the remaining £9m remains unclear. Yet questions remain about the influence of some of the most powerful people in the city, and country. The Bristol Port Company has routinely been pulling levers to protect their interests at the Port. And David Ord and Terence Mordaunt, “good chaps” as described by Ferguson, have many levers to pull. Over the years, the owners have deployed standard methods of corporate lobbying to stake out their interests in the city and beyond. In the run up to the mayoral election of November 2012, the Port Company offered a donation of £2000 to each of the main party candidates, as well as to George Ferguson’s party Bristol First. Initially, according to the Port Company, Bristol First repaid the sum in December 2012, after the election. This information was subsequently amended in a Freedom of Information disclosure where the Port Company stated that Bristol First refused to accept the donation in the first place, before the election. However, this is still unclear as George Ferguson told the Cable “I did return (emphasis added) a £2000 donation to the Port Co, as I felt that it was inappropriate to accept funding from a company in which the City Council has a shareholding and that I might as Mayor have to take decisions about the future of the port.” … David Ord, awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws by Bristol University 24 days after donating £5,000 to the institution, also gifted £77,500 to the Conservative Party whilst the barrage project was being reviewed in Parliament. His individual donations to the Tories now total nearly £600,000. The barrage project was eventually dropped by the Government. Coincidentally, George Ferguson stated his own opposition to the tidal energy project, citing concerns for the Welsh economy and the Port’s business. The Mayor denies any conflict of interest, saying “I only had one interest and that was to strike an excellent deal for the city, which we did, with best professional advice.” With the freehold now firmly in hand, the Port can crack on and “invest in this important UK asset” and develop the £600m container terminal, unconstrained by local government. To what end we don’t know, although a meeting and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in June 2015 with the Chinese state owned Guangzhou Port Authority may be a sign of things to come…

Cumbria tidal barrage: The return of British sea power – Twice a day, every day, the Atlantic Ocean surges up on to the UK’s Continental Shelf and around our coastline. This creates one of the highest tidal ranges in the world, an untapped energy source with huge potential. In 2011, we set out to solve a century-old puzzle: how to harness natural power from the rise and fall of the tides, sustainably and at scale. Tidal Lagoon Power was formed to develop, construct and operate tidal lagoon power plant in the UK and internationally. To date, the number of potential gigawatt-scale UK tidal lagoon locations identified from an engineering, power generation and commercial viability perspective stands in double figures and could equate to over 25GW of installed capacity. We are currently developing a national fleet of six tidal lagoons to meet up to 8% of UK electricity demand, or power for around 30% of UK homes, as well as progressing a number of potential projects overseas…

PMQs Steve Baker – border between Northern Ireland and Britain – Boris Johnson questioned by angry Brexiteer about plot to keep UK in EU tariff regimeBREXITEER Steve Baker has warned against any possibility of the UK being trapped in the EU’s tariff regime after the end of the year – prompting an extraordinary intervention from Boris Johnson himself to offer reassurance. Speaking in the Commons, Mr Baker raised concerns about a post-Brexit trade and UK tariffs, on the same day a leaked letter written by International Trade Secretary Liz Truss to Michael Gove and Rishi Sunak the UK’s ports were not yet ready for an independent trade regime. Mr Baker asked: “To avoid drama later, we need to complete the process of getting Brexit done in the next few months, so will the PM, therefore, please confirm for the benefit of everyone listening, that nothing in the Northern Ireland protocol will be allowed to stop the UK charging our own tariffs for the whole UK from the 1st January 2021?”…

Big 4 auditors need to break up – Britain’s Big Four auditors have just three months to outline how they will break up their businesses after a string of scandalsBritain’s Big Four auditors have just three months to outline how they will break up their businesses after a string of scandals. The accounting watchdog has told EY, PwC, KPMG and Deloitte they must submit plans by October on how they will split their audit arms from their consulting businesses. It comes after the major accountancy firms were accused of poor practice and conflicts of interest, following their oversight of a number of corporate failures, including Wirecard, Carillion, Thomas Cook and BHS. The incidents prompted a series of reviews into the auditing industry, which eventually resulted in a recommendation to break up the heavy-hitting Big Four. The orders from the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) to push ahead with the splits mark the first major shake-up of the accounting industry in decades. Sir Jon Thompson, the watchdog’s chief executive, said the FRC has delivered ‘a major step in the reform of the audit sector by setting principles for operational separation of audit practices from the rest of the firm’. For investors and customers, auditing is arguably the most important job the Big Four firms undertake. Many shareholders rely on an auditor to flag concerns about the company’s finances – though in cases such as Wirecard and Thomas Cook, where the parlous state of their balance sheets remained unnoticed until shortly before their collapse, this proved unreliable…

Craig Murray – government giving contracts to friends – Why would the NHS turn to this ethically sordid but zeitgeist banal private wealth management office to provide a quarter of a billion pounds worth of PPE to the NHS? Wealth Manager magazine, who have done excellent journalism on this story, have the contract as supplying only face masks. They have confirmed the astonishing fact that there was no published tender for the quarter billion pound contract. Normal tendering processes were suspended in March through secondary legislation at Westminster for the Covid-19 Crisis. This is all simply astonishing. The normal public procurement tendering process has pre-qualification criteria which companies have to meet. These will normally include so many years of experience in the specific sector, employment of suitably qualified staff, possession of the required physical infrastructure and a measure of financial stability. This is perhaps obvious – otherwise you or I could simply stick in a bid to build the HS2 railway that is £10 billion cheaper than anybody else, win the contract then go and look for a builder. Ayanda Capital would fail every single test in normal procurement criteria to supply PPE to the NHS. I can see no evidence that anybody in the company had ever seen PPE except when visiting the dentist. They appear to have no medical expertise, no established medical procurement network, no quality control inspection ability, no overseas shipment agents, no warehousing or logistics facilities. We have of course seen this before from these crooked Tories with their “emergency procurement”, with the “ferry company” with no ferries. But this – a quarter of a billion pounds – is on a whole different level…

Hargreaves Lansdown – Woodford as ‘best buy’ JEFF PRESTRIDGE: A welcome revamp but Hargreaves Lansdown’s ‘shortlist’ still has faultsThe wealth manager’s move is long overdue, coming more than a year after it was deservedly criticised for labelling investment fund Woodford Equity Income a best buy right up until the day it was suspended. It will do little to appease those who kept faith with Woodford – or bought into the Woodford fund – because of Hargreaves Lansdown’s unremitting (and erroneous) faith in his ability to make proverbial investment silk purses out of sows’ ears. The losses they made from investing in Equity Income on the back of its support for the fund will not be made good. The revamp is not without its faults. Eyebrows will be raised at the continued involvement of Mark Dampier in the overseeing of the so-called Wealth Shortlist. It was Dampier, as head of research at Hargreaves Lansdown, who did more than anyone to champion Woodford and ensure his funds (Equity Income and Income Focus) remained on the Wealth 50 – the precursor to the Shortlist. In keeping him on board, it could be argued that Hargreaves Lansdown has not made a clean enough break from its past problems…

UK pandemic has so far cost £133 billion of bailout/borrowing. Economic crisis and Covid 19Finance minister Rishi Sunak has rushed out emergency measures worth an estimated 133 billion pounds ($163.7 billion) since the start of the crisis, mostly to keep people in jobs after many businesses were forced to close due to the COVID-19 lockdown. The economy shrank 25% in March and April as entire sectors were shuttered. With the economy beginning to re-open, Sunak will give an economic update on Wednesday where he is expected to outline further measures of support for workers and businesses…

Serbia – riots as parliament stormed, in complaint about lockdown – Lockdowns infringement of civil liberties?  Serbia: Protesters try to storm parliament amid fresh unrest – A new bout of violence rocked Serbia despite the government’s ban on mass gatherings. The protesters decry the state’s handling of the pandemic, with many of them pelting the police with bottles, rocks and flares. Hundreds of protesters in Serbia clashed with the police in front of the parliament building in Belgrade on Friday, as protests rocked the country for the fourth consecutive day. Serbia faces a new wave of coronavirus infections, which the protesters blame on the government’s pandemic policy. Despite the ban on mass gatherings, thousands rallied in Belgrade and other major cities. Groups of protesters threw bottles, rocks and flares at the police guarding the parliament. The rioters also used the protective metal fence around the building as a weapon in the scuffles with the police. The police fired tear gas at the protesters and prevented people from entering the building. Fourteen police officers were injured in the rioting, and 71 people have been detained so far, said police director Vladimir Rebic. Several reporters have also been hurt…

Leah Hunt-Hendrix, granddaughter of a key JFK assassination plotter H.L. Hunt, is funding Black Lives Matter – And the dialectic continues… George Soros is funding Black Lives Matter through the Democracy Alliance (DA). The DA also includes Leah Hunt-Hendrix, the “Occupy heiress,” who is the granddaughter of Texas oil tycoon H.L. Hunt, the JFK conspirator who also funded the Nation of Islam despite his ties to the Klan and the John Birch Society. – Major donors consider funding Black Lives Matter – Activists for the protest movement are meeting in secret with liberal funder club –  According to a Democracy Alliance draft agenda obtained by POLITICO, movement leaders will be featured guests at a Tuesday dinner with major donors. The dinner, which technically precedes the official conference kickoff, will focus on “what kind of support and resources are needed from the allied funders during this critical moment of immediate struggle and long-term movement building.” The groups that will be represented include the Black Youth Project 100, The Center for Popular Democracy and the Black Civic Engagement Fund, according to the organizer, a DA member named Leah Hunt-Hendrix. An heir to a Texas oil fortune, Hunt-Hendrix helps lead a coalition of mostly young donors called Solidaire that focuses on movement building. It’s donated more than $200,000 to the Black Lives Matter movement since Brown’s killing. According to its entry on a philanthropy website, more than $61,000 went directly to organizers and organizations on the ground in Ferguson and Baltimore, where the death of Freddie Gray in police custody in April sparked a more recent wave of Black Lives-related protests. An additional $115,000 went to groups that have sprung up to support the movement…

Adrian Hayday, immunologist at Kings College London, and part of Francis Crick Institute, on BBC World Service, discussing how autopsies have shown Covid 19 to have an AIDS element to it. Is Covid 19 a bio weapon? PMQs Corona virus hitting young people hard. – Like HIV, corona hits immune cells: Studies – NEW YORK: Researchers have discovered that in many Covid patients, the immune system is threatened by a depletion of certain essential cells, suggesting eerie parallels with HIV. In May, John Wherry, an immunologist at the University of Pennsylvania, and his colleagues posted online a paper showing a range of immune system defects in severely ill patients, including a loss of virusfighting T cells in parts of the body. Another study, conducted by Adrian Hayday, an immunologist at King’s College London, found an increase in levels of a molecule called IP10, which sends T cells to areas of the body where they are needed in Covid patients. Ordinarily, IP10 levels are only briefly elevated. But in Covid-19 patients IP10 levels go up and stay up. The result: a confused response from the immune system…

Are masks necessary? Hector Drummonds graph of Covid 19 cases – Covid-19 hospital deaths in England by date of death, with 3-day moving average trendline (the thicker line). (Note that numbers in grey area may increase over the next few days.) NHS England data. – Face Masks Pose Serious Risks to the Healthy – By Dr. Russell Blaylock – “By wearing a mask, the exhaled viruses will not be able to escape and will concentrate in the nasal passages, enter the olfactory nerves and travel into the brain.” — Russell Blaylock, MD Researchers found that about a third of the workers developed headaches with use of the mask, most had preexisting headaches that were worsened by the mask wearing, and 60% required pain medications for relief. As to the cause of the headaches, while straps and pressure from the mask could be causative, the bulk of the evidence points toward hypoxia and/or hypercapnia as the cause. That is, a reduction in blood oxygenation (hypoxia) or an elevation in blood C02 (hypercapnia). It is known that the N95 mask, if worn for hours, can reduce blood oxygenation as much as 20%, which can lead to a loss of consciousness, as happened to the hapless fellow driving around alone in his car wearing an N95 mask, causing him to pass out, and to crash his car and sustain injuries. I am sure that we have several cases of elderly individuals or any person with poor lung function passing out, hitting their head. This, of course, can lead to death. A more recent study involving 159 healthcare workers aged 21 to 35 years of age found that 81% developed headaches from wearing a face mask. Some had pre-existing headaches that were precipitated by the masks. All felt like the headaches affected their work performance. Unfortunately, no one is telling the frail elderly and those with lung diseases, such as COPD, emphysema or pulmonary fibrosis, of these dangers when wearing a facial mask of any kind—which can cause a severe worsening of lung function. This also includes lung cancer patients and people having had lung surgery, especially with partial resection or even the removal of a whole lung…

Is today’s Thanksgiving based on a Massacre of Pequot Indians?In 1637 near present day Groton, Connecticut, over 700 men, women and children of the Pequot Tribe had gathered for their annual Green Corn Festival which is our Thanksgiving celebration. In the predawn hours the sleeping Indians were surrounded by English and Dutch mercenaries who ordered them to come outside. Those who came out were shot or clubbed to death while the terrified women and children who huddled inside the longhouse were burned alive. The next day the governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony declared “A Day Of Thanksgiving” because 700 unarmed men, women and children had been murdered. Cheered by their “victory”, the brave colonists and their Indian allies attacked village after village. Women and children over 14 were sold into slavery while the rest were murdered. Boats loaded with a many as 500 slaves regularly left the ports of New England. Bounties were paid for Indian scalps to encourage as many deaths as possible. Following an especially successful raid against the Pequot in what is now Stamford, Connecticut, the churches announced a second day of “thanksgiving” to celebrate victory over the heathen savages. During the feasting, the hacked off heads of Natives were kicked through the streets like soccer balls. Even the friendly Wampanoag did not escape the madness. Their chief was beheaded, and his head impaled on a pole in Plymouth, Massachusetts — where it remained on display for 24 years.

UN Special Rapporteur On Extrajudicial Assassinations Agnes Callamard on Press TV, discussing the drone killing of Solemeini and Iraqi officials. UN rapporteur : US drone killing of Iran’s General Soleimani sets dangerous precedent – A senior UN human rights investigator says the United States’ assassination of top Iranian commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad was an “unlawful” killing in violation of the international law. Agnes Callamard, the UN special rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, said on Monday that the US has failed to provide sufficient evidence of an ongoing or imminent attack against its interests to justify the January drone strike on General Soleimani’s convoy as it left Baghdad airport. “Absent an actual imminent threat to life, the course of action taken by the US was unlawful,” Callamard wrote in a report. The drone attack “violated the UN Charter”, Callamard added, calling for accountability for targeted killings by armed drones and for greater regulation of the weapons. “The world is at a critical time, and possible tipping point, when it comes to the use of drones. … The Security Council is missing in action; the international community, willingly or not, stands largely silent,” Callamard, an independent investigator, told Reuters…

Russia’s Lavrov saying we’re getting closer to nuclear war – The presidents of Russia and the United States should jointly declare that the use of nuclear weapons is unacceptable, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told an international forum, the Primakov Readings, on Tuesday. “From a political perspective, it’s of principal importance that Russia and the US calm the rest of the world and pass a joint statement at a high level that there can be no victory in a nuclear war and therefore it is unacceptable and inadmissible,” Lavrov said. Lavrov recalled that the leaders of the US and the Soviet Union had earlier made such statements. “We do not understand why they cannot reconfirm this position now. Our proposal is being considered by the US side,” Russia’s top diplomat said…

Carrie Lamb on the new NSL law in Hong Kong – If you’re reading this, Beijing says its new Hong Kong security law applies to youThe full text of Hong Kong’s controversial new national security law came out late at night on June 30, the day it was enacted. Lawyers and legal scholars were quick to dissect the text and offer their analysis. In those early hours, one feature of the legislation stood out. Its 38th article seems to give the national security law (NSL) boundless reach. The text states that the NSL, in addition to covering anyone in Hong Kong, regardless of nationality or residency status, also applies to offenses committed against Hong Kong “from outside the Region by a person who is not a permanent resident of the Region.” “The scope of the law exceeds the wildest of expectations,” said Cora Chan, associate professor of law at the University of Hong Kong. Legal experts question the feasibility of enforcing Article 38 on foreign nationals outside China, and its massive jurisdiction won’t be tested until the first case arises. But the provision’s sweeping latitude and threats of detention and surveillance are enough to prompt self-censorship and discourage visitors from traveling to Hong Kong—the kind of fallout that could undercut business confidence in the financial hub. “The sheer uncertainty of when Beijing would feel the need to use the law…will be the main way through which the law reaps its effect: by chilling conduct,” Chan said…

‘The Real Story’ on BBC World Service – hospitals closed in Lebanon – Lebanon on the brink. The Real StoryThe financial crisis in Lebanon seems to have accelerated rapidly ever since the government defaulted on a ninety-billion-dollar loan in March.The currency has lost nearly eighty percent of its value pushing a large group of its population below the poverty line. A shortage of cash has led many to barter household goods for food on Facebook. Even the Lebanese army has stopped serving meat to its soldiers. And many of its citizen are seeking refuge abroad. At the heart of the crisis is the country’s banking sector. Protesters see it as the embodiment of a corrupt economic system that has enriched the elites who are now unwilling to foot their share of the bill. Now, compounded by the outbreak of the coronavirus, has Lebanon entered its most critical moment since the end of the civil war? As the country stares into the abyss will its disparate political groups be willing to come together to prevent a financial meltdown? Ritula Shah and a panel of expert guests discuss what hope there is for Lebanon.  – Contributors: Freddie Baz – Lebanese economist; Henri Chaoul – Managing partner of financial advisory company, Levantine partners; Sybille Rizk – Lebanon Correspondent for the French Newspaper, Le Figaro; Sami Halabi – Director of Policy at Triangle research consultancy in Beirut.

Melvin Bragg’s ‘In Our Time’ show podcast from 2014 – Dr Mark Woolmer from Durham University discusses who the Phoenicians were. The Greek historian Herodotus wrote about a people from the Levant who were accomplished sailors and traders, and who taught the Greeks their alphabet. He called them the Phoenicians, the Greek word for purple, although it is not known what they called themselves. By about 700 BC they were trading all over the Mediterranean, taking Egyptian and Syrian goods as far as Spain and North Africa. Although they were hugely influential in the ancient world, they left few records of their own;

Interview with Philip Beale, former Royal Navy officer, who researched the Phoenicians, built a replica Phoenician galley trading ship in 2008, sailed it round Africa and then, in late 2019, from Morocco to the Caribbean in 29 days: history of the Phoenicians; famous Ra expedition in a reed-built Egyptian ship to the Americas across the Atlantic in 1971 by Thor Heyerdahl after previous 1940s Kon-Tiki expedition in the Pacific; evidence the Phoenicians made it across the Atlantic to the Americas;

With 300 settlements down the Eastern Atlantic coasts, did the ancient Phoenicians beat Christopher Columbus and John Cabot to North Americas by 3,000 years? Nicotine and Cocaine found in ancient Egyptian tombs. Similar alphabets to the Phoenicians found in South America, same with Scandinavian runes. Ancient Phoenician DNA found in modern Cherokee indian tribe. Phoenician visits to the Americas taught in Haitian and Mexican schools until the 1970s. Carthaginian coins found in the Azores on the way BACK from the Americas. – Replica Phoenician ship, Phoenicia, arrived into the Dominican Republic on 31st December 2019, after 39 days at sea. Having departed Tunisia on 29.09.19, the success of the Expedition reinforces the notion that the Phoenicians had the capability and skill to sail to the Americas. The Phoenicia has since moved north to the USA for a stay in Fort Lauderdale and Miami. The expedition aims to prove that the Phoenicians could have reached the Americas 2000 years before Christopher Columbus. Phoenicians Before Columbus Facebook page –

Who reached America first – Columbus or the Phoenicians? – A replica Phoenician vessel made in Syria is sailing the Atlantic to prove the ancient civilisation did it 2,000 years before ColumbusDescribing Columbus – who landed in the Americas in 1492 – as a “war criminal”, Beale said historical sources point to the Vikings (under Leif Erikson) having arrived in North America around 1000AD, followed, a few centuries later, by mediaeval Basque fishermen. Legends say Irish monk St Brendan also made the voyage in a leather boat; and that 14th-century emperor of Mali Abubakari II abdicated to set sail across the Atlantic in 1311. “The Phoenicians assembled one of the biggest fleets and almost certainly sailed to America. There doesn’t appear to be any record of ships returning but there are stories of African cultures being found in the jungles of Brazil so maybe they landed on the shores but couldn’t get back,” he said. – Writer and film-maker Lindsay McCauley travelled to Tunisia from Australia. While researching a book about Mayan architecture, he has drawn parallels between measurement systems used by the Mayans, the ancient Israelites and ancient Egyptians. “I can think of no other way for that measurement system to reach Mexico other than via a Phoenician ship, so this expedition is a crucial part of my research.”…

The vicious slaughter and genocidal crimes of ‘war criminal Christopher ColumbusA young, Catholic priest named Bartolomé de las Casas transcribed Columbus’ journals and later wrote about the violence he had witnessed. The fact that such crimes could potentially go unnoticed by future generations was deeply troubling to him. He expanded upon the extent of Columbus’s reign of terror within his multi-volume book entitled the “History of the Indies”: “There were 60,000 people living on this island, including the Indians; so that from 1494 to 1508, over 3,000,000 people had perished from war, slavery, and the mines. Who in future generations will believe this? I myself writing it as a knowledgeable eyewitness can hardly believe it.” Such words offer the reader a firsthand account of the state-sponsored genocide that the Spanish Empire had financed through Columbus. Clearly, the intent of the Spanish Empire was to eradicate the islands of indigenous people through slavery and violence. In doing so they had further established their already dominant political/economic standing within Europe. In a matter of years, Columbus and his men decimated the indigenous people of the Caribbean islands….

Ancient coin suggests early activity on Bristol Channel – The details of the coin have been released two years after it was found near the River AvonA 2,300-year-old coin found after flooding along the River Avon near Bath has revealed details of early maritime activity up the Bristol Channel. The 20mm coin was spotted in receding floodwaters in 2012, but the owner kept the details private until now. It has been verified by the British Museum and is understood to be a Carthaginian coin, minted around Sardinia in 300-264 BC. Several similar examples have been recorded but only from the coastline. On one side of the coin is an image of Tanit – a Punic and Phoenician goddess – and on the reverse is a horse’s head. Its owner wishes to remain anonymous but has allowed it to be included in a history project in Saltford, where the coin was found. Project organiser Phil Harding said: “[The coin] predates the Great Wall of China, it predates the Roman Empire, it predates the birth of Jesus Christ, it predates Alfred the Great – it’s just fantastic.”…

Danish nod gives Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline fresh traction – The Danish Energy Agency has greenlighted the use of Russian ships that could speed up execution of the controversial Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. US sanctions, however, may still put a dampener on the project.When the Danish Energy Agency (DEA) this week authorized the use of Russian ships able to lay the final part of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, advocates of the delayed project rejoiced. The move paves the way for the pipeline to reach its destination in Lubmin near Greifswald on Germany’s Baltic coast before the end of this year. But US sanctions and technical issues could still upset the best laid of plans. Some 1,230 kilometers (775 miles) in length, Nord Stream 2 is set to run from Russia’s Ust-Luga, but is now on hold 160 kilometers off the German coast after US sanctions came into force before Christmas seeing Swiss-Dutch company Allseas to withdraw its ships. The €10 billion ($11 billion) pipeline would double Russia’s direct export capacity to Germany as a first entry point to the EU to 110 billion cubic meters (bcm) per year. It is strongly opposed by Poland and Ukraine in Europe and the US…
