Part One – Local and National News Review

Did Elon Musk and far right Loyalists spark Northern Ireland riots after Sudanese immigration attempted to murder a local? Economic issues worsening. Elon Musk’s role was ‘instrumental’ in the Belfast riots, researchers say The newly crowned world’s first trillionaire is once again facing criticism over the violent narratives he amplified on his platform X. Belfast Race Riots: Elon Musk’s threats of Zionist genocide ‘home front’ explode on UK streets Elon Musk, newly crowned world’s first trillionaire, faced renewed criticism on Friday, June 12, over anti-immigrant riots in Belfast after researchers said violent narratives he amplified on his platform X amassed millions of views. Clashes broke out in the Northern Irish capital after a brutal knife attack on Monday, with police charging a Sudanese national named Hadi Alodid with attempted murder. Musk amplified calls for protest across Britain from anti-immigration activist Tommy Robinson and wrote to his 240 million followers on X: “Only by protesting REPEATEDLY and LOUDLY will there be any change.” He also boosted anti-immigration posts and messages from Rupert Lowe, leader of the fringe hard-right party Restore Britain, extending his reach to millions of users on the platform. Researchers from the nonprofit tech watchdog Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) reported that the trio’s posts about Belfast collectively garnered more than 115 million views across their accounts, with Musk accounting for 55 percent of the total. “Musk’s amplification has been instrumental,” contributing 64 million views, CCDH said in a report. “As the owner of X and its most followed user, Musk has unparalleled power to shape what people see online. With that power comes responsibility for the content and conduct his platform promotes,” said Imran Ahmed, CCDH’s founder and chief executive. “Yet our research shows that he used the Belfast tragedy to amplify anti-migrant narratives to millions of users, prompting endless calls for violence.” “While communities dealt with the consequences of brutality and disorder, no individual played a bigger role in spreading this content on X than Musk himself,” Ahmed added. X did not immediately respond to AFP’s request for comment. Robinson – whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon – was formerly banned from X. His account was reinstated – along with several other influencers accused of peddling misinformation or hate speech – following Musk’s 2022 acquisition of the platform, previously known as Twitter. Researchers say that Musk has also expanded Lowe’s reach by amplifying his speeches in recent weeks and posting that only his party can “save Britain.” CCDH said it identified an “explosion in calls for violence” in the responses to the trio’s posts about the Belfast unrest, with more than 3,900 comments advocating lynchings and other crimes against immigrants. Two-thirds of the calls for violence appeared in replies to Robinson’s posts, it added. The research comes after Britain’s media watchdog Ofcom warned of the increased risk of online platforms being used to “stir up hatred, provoke violence and commit other offences under UK law.” The findings coincided with a milestone for Musk, who became the world’s first trillionaire on Friday after shares of his other company, SpaceX, soared following its Wall Street trading debut. The blockbuster initial public offering, the biggest in history, raised more than $75 billion.

Rupert Lowe, further right than Farage, spike’s Reform’s guns. Restore Britain leader, on violence from illegal immigrants, and the attack from Sudanese man. Restore split the Reform vote. These groups funded by Elon Musk and others. Rupert Lowe: ‘I won’t have woke creeps telling us we’re racist’ With immigration top of his agenda, the Restore Britain leader is bullish about his party’s chances of a shock by-election win in Makerfield One word is mentioned repeatedly in my conversation with Rupert Lowe: malign. To describe government failures in the post-War period as Sir Humphrey-esque incompetence, the Restore Britain leader believes, lets their architects off too lightly. Almost everything that has gone wrong is not the result of complexity, trade-offs, ineptitude or institutional drift, but deliberate sabotage. Early retirement isn’t enough for these establishment figures – Lowe wants “retribution”. He is confident that in five days’ time that moment might arrive with Thursday’s Makerfield by-election. And his optimism is boundless: “I think Burnham will do less well than people think. He’s putting his career ahead of his responsibility to Makerfield constituents. Reform will do worse, too: they’ve peaked. All of which means we could be near 20 per cent. I still think we can win it.” He is unimpressed when I raise the risk of vote splitting. “That’s a recidivist argument of people who are worried they’re losing the battle. Democracy is about putting up what you believe in, and letting people vote for it.” To those who warn a divided Right could hand power to Andy Burnham, or a rainbow coalition of the increasingly radical Left, he shoots: “Get a life. I’m only interested in doing what I think is right for the country.” Yet few on the Right share that indifference: they do not want to see the progressives gain control of the levers of power. A leaked poll this week put Reform on 24 per cent in Makerfield, Restore on 13, and Andy Burnham on 35. The danger is that a split Right would help deliver victory to the Greater Manchester Mayor. Others might point to danger of a different kind. Restore Britain is backed by neo-fascists – the sorts of people who claim Hitler was “misunderstood”. It wants to deport not just undocumented migrants but “legally resident foreign nationals” who “fail to integrate”. It’s threatening officials and politicians “who knowingly placed dangerous third world savages in our communities” with imprisonment. But for Lowe, nothing feels more central to that idea of “fairness”, and what is “right”, than immigration. It sits at the top of his political agenda, the issue through which most other state failures of the past half century are filtered. The street unrest in Northern Ireland earlier this week, prompted by the alleged attempted beheading by a Sudanese migrant, feeds directly into that sense of unease. It is not an aberration but an illustration of our porous borders, weak enforcement, and institutional cowardice. “The people in power have not kept out people who are not supposed to be here,” he says, simply. He is careful to distance himself from the violence that erupted on Belfast’s streets, which shut down public transport across the region and forced businesses and schools to close. “I do not endorse the behaviour of the protesters,” he insists, though he does seek to explain, though certainly not excuse, it. “You can’t expect honest, decent citizens to stand by, watching helplessly, as immigrants from different cultures come here, demand their own laws, break ours, fail to integrate.”…

Lab+Lib+Green= 43%; Reform+Restore= 54%. So if there is no electoral pact and neither Reform nor Restore candidates step aside… then we will know they want Burnham to take over as PM 😎 #Makerfield Pantomime? Makerfield by-election. Andy Burnham – polls on his time as a Mayor. Restore Britain set to sweep Burnham to victory in Makerfield, new poll suggests Exclusive: Latest constituency polling shows Greater Manchester mayor is slightly ahead of Reform UK – but it’s still all to play for Restore Britain voters are set to sweep Andy Burnham to victory in Makerfield, according to a new poll that suggests a split in the right-wing vote could hamper Reform UK’s chances. Constituency polling seen by The Independent suggests Rupert Lowe’s hard-right party has won over enough voters to prevent Nigel Farage’s candidate Robert Kenyon from claiming victory over Labour in the crucial by-election. According to the poll, the mayor of Greater Manchester has a narrow lead – on 46 per cent – while Mr Kenyon trails five points behind on 41 per cent. Meanwhile, Restore Britain’s Rebecca Shepherd is on roughly 7 per cent. It means she could be the deciding factor in swinging the contest in Mr Burnham’s favour – and determining whether he will return to Westminster to challenge Sir Keir Starmer for the Labour leadership. But Mr Burnham’s lead in the poll is within the margin of error, which is just under 5 per cent, and the margin of late-campaign movement – meaning it is too close to call. The polling of 543 adults, with undecided and non-voters removed, was conducted by Opinium for campaign group Forward democracy and is the largest constituency poll done to date ahead of Thursday’s contest. The Conservatives are on around 2.5 per cent, while the Greens and Lib Dems are each below 2 per cent, meaning they would all lose their deposit, the poll shows. Restore Britain was founded by Mr Lowe after he was suspended from Reform UK last year amid claims he had threatened then-party chairman Zia Yusuf. He denied the allegations and the Crown Prosecution Service said no criminal charges would be brought against him in relation to alleged threats towards Mr Yusuf. The party – which until now has largely been based in Lowe’s constituency Great Yarmouth – is further to the right than Reform on issues such as immigration. Mr Farage has attempted to diminish the impact of Restore Britain’s presence in the by-election, insisting the contest was a “two-horse race” between Labour and Reform, but it is already clear that the fledgling party is poaching Reform’s voters…

Victoria Derbyshire interviewing Mick Lynch and Laila Cunningham – immigration and Unions. Big business power and not paying enough tax. Nationalising everything after economic crash? World losing half a trillion to tax abuse, largely due to 8 countries blocking UN tax reform, annual report finds The UK and its second empire is responsible for over a quarter of all countries’ tax losses (26%), costing countries US$129 billion a year The US is responsible for 7.6%, costing countries US$38 billion a year Canada is responsible for 6.3%, costing countries US$31 billion a year Multinational corporations cheated more after getting tax cuts, largest inadvertent real-world testing of corporate tax policies reveals Countries are losing US$492 billion in tax a year to multinational corporations and wealthy individuals using tax havens to underpay tax, the Tax Justice Network’s annual State of Tax Justice shows.1 Nearly half the losses (43%) are enabled by the eight countries that remain opposed to a UN tax convention: Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, the UK and the US.2 With countries set to vote3 shortly at the UN on whether to finally enter formal negotiations on the meat of a UN tax convention, the Tax Justice Network is urging all countries to vote in favour of the negotiations: “Governments now have a chance to choose differently at the UN, to choose to use tax to protect people, economies and planet.” (Liz Nelson quote continued below) The negotiation of a UN tax convention is widely seen as the biggest shakeup in history to the global tax system, and previously reported as the world’s best chance to avert losing nearly US$5 trillion to tax havens over the next decade in last year’s edition of the State of Tax Justice.4 Of the US$492 billion lost to global tax abuse a year, two-thirds (US$347.6 billion) is lost to multinational corporations shifting profit offshore to underpay tax. The remaining third (US$144.8 billion) is lost to wealthy individuals hiding their wealth offshore. “The hurtful eight” cost countries US$212bn a year The eight countries that remain opposed to a UN tax convention – dubbed “the hurtful eight” by the Tax Justice Network – cost the world US$212 billion in tax losses a year by enabling multinational corporations and wealthy individuals to use their financial systems to underpay tax in other countries. These eight countries – all OECD members – were the only ones to vote against the pre-negotiation terms agreed by a large majority in August this year on what the parameters and goals of the UN tax convention would be. Some 110 countries voted in favour of the ambitious terms and 44 abstained. The vote saw the collapse of the OECD voting bloc – which had voted almost unanimously in all previous votes in the UN process – when most OECD countries, including all EU countries, abstained…

Will Burnham be another Starmer? Victoria Derbyshire interviews Andy Burnham – Makerfield by election – how will he run UK? Poll for Makerfield by election.

David Dimbleby on Starmer and Andy Burnham.  David Dimbleby: Starmer’s a Dud. It’s Time for Change Would you say to the Labour Party, Don’t change your prime minister? No, absolutely not. I’d say: Change him, you’ve got a dud — a nice and no doubt very intelligent man, but a man so overcautious and seen publicly as somebody who decides something and then once he gets a bit of opposition, turns back. The veteran broadcaster on why the UK needs a “bold” prime minister and what the rise of Nigel Farage says about modern Britain. As the anchor of 10 general elections and BBC TV coverage of two public votes on Europe — in 1975 and 2016 — David Dimbleby has had a decades-long vantage point on UK politics. With Prime Minister Keir Starmer under intense pressure after a brutal set of local election results, Dimbleby is uniquely placed to understand the characters and conflicts shaping a volatile landscape. What do you make of the level of instability the UK is seeing at the moment — this prospect we might have the seventh prime minister in a decade? The churn in prime ministers has really been Tory. [David] Cameron, [Theresa] May, [Boris] Johnson, [Liz] Truss — for God’s sake — and [Rishi] Sunak, who barely had a chance. [Former Labour Prime Minister] Harold Wilson always said, The way to lead the Labour Party when they’re in government is to keep driving the wagon so hard that everybody’s clinging on for dear life. The moment you show any sign of deferring things, everybody starts fighting for their idea of what the Labour Party should be. But is there something wider afoot than these two parties? About our political firmament, or the appetite of the public. There’s certainly an electoral system that doesn’t reflect opinion in the country. A lot of people feel they vote in a general election and it doesn’t get represented. I think that does cause huge frustration. Our constitution is very suited to aristocratic government in the 18th and 19th centuries, when they don’t conceive of the public having views. Even then, we churned prime ministers. This is where Reform and some of the Greens come in. People facing issues feel I’ve voted, and nothing actually happens. They don’t feel heard. The UK’s parliamentary electoral system, known as first past the post, has traditionally been seen as a source of stability: The candidate with the most votes in any given seat is elected. For much of the past century, it has resulted in majority governments for the Conservatives or Labour, but Dimbleby is now pointing to it as a source of instability because millions of people feel their votes are wasted. Do you think that we are heading for a multi-party system that will mean the only way to govern will be in coalitions; and that will need a different mindset? Certainly. If the local election results were at a general election — and of course there are all sorts of caveats — Reform would’ve got 200-something seats. It wouldn’t have a working majority in the House of Commons. So of course there would have to be [a coalition]…

Chris Williamson, from Workers Party – QE money to invest in UK re-nationalisation. Former Labour MP Chris Williamson explains how we ‘print money’ for economic recovery, but will the bond markets and the city of london ever allow this? They may have to! To summarise: The government can and does create money. Government debt is just a means for saving private wealth. Deficits are not a problem, as long as they’re not overheating the economy, but taxation can be used to stop the economy over-heating. Governments cannot create money without limit. The key is ensuring public spending is matched to the availability of real resources in the economy. Congress Discussion: MMT and the economy The following piece is submitted by Chris Williamson as a contribution towards the development of our policy in this area. MODERN MONETARY THEORY (MMT) No political party in Britain has ever expressly embraced the possibilities provided by the fact that Britain issues its own currency. Consequently, governments can never run out of money for anything that is available for sale in pound sterling. This offers the WPGB an enormous opportunity. We can explain to the public that a good society is possible and that they’ve had the wool pulled over their eyes about the way in which the monetary system in this country actually operates. Henry Ford acknowledged this nearly a century ago when he said: “It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.” Our job in the Workers Party GB is to facilitate that revolution. Tony Benn used to say that if we can find the money to kill people, we can find the money to help people, and he was right. But governments of every stripe have always insisted that the funds necessary to deliver a good society are limited and that tough choices have to be made. However, as Tony Benn pointed out, there is never a problem finding the money for military adventures. The covid crisis proved that when there is political will, money is no object, even for a Tory government. Myths about the size of the deficit were thrown out of the window, only to be dusted off when the lockdown was over. The problem was that much of the government’s spending spree was squandered, and simply lined the pockets of their Tory friends.

Chris Williamson on right wing groups all over the news media – The Atlantic Council, The Rand Corporation – more money on military lobbyists. The West must urgently overcome its fear of provoking Putin By Daniel Bilak – The Atlantic Council – November 25, 2022 – On November 23, I sat huddled with my terrified children in a bomb shelter near Kyiv as Russian missiles roared overhead. For the fourteenth time since early October, Ukraine’s cities and civilian energy infrastructure were under attack. Putin’s motivation is transparent. Following the massive 100-rocket barrage of November 15, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declared that Russia’s aim is to force Ukraine to the negotiating table. In case anybody missed the memo, Peskov blithely offered to stop bombing civilians if Ukraine succumbs to all of Russia’s demands. Deliberately targeting civilians to achieve political aims is the textbook definition of terrorism. Indeed, in an historic trifecta of international condemnation, the European Parliament this week joined the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism. Putin seems content to drive home the point by raining down more death on Ukrainian heads. Putin’s bombing campaign has plunged the country into darkness and left tens of millions of Ukrainians without heat, electricity, and water. This is happening on the cusp of winter with snow already on the ground and temperatures below zero. We are staring at a humanitarian catastrophe of barely imaginable proportions. So far, Ukrainians have responded with the remarkable resilience that has captured the world’s imagination since Russia’s invasion began nine months ago. But anger and frustration are growing. Why is Putin allowed to openly target Ukrainian civilians with such impunity? Where is the response from Ukraine’s allies? Putin routinely bombards the Ukrainian civilian population because he knows he faces no danger of retaliation. The West appears paralyzed by its fear of Russian escalation. Instead of providing Ukraine with the capability to strike back and lifting restrictions on attacking Russian targets, Western leaders respond to each successive bombardment with expressions of solidarity and vows to “stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.” Such sentiments are welcome, but they are no substitute for the additional weapons Ukraine so desperately needs. Having lived through nine months of this war, I know that empty phrases only encourage Putin to double down on brutality and terror against Ukrainian civilians. Time and again, we have seen how Putin expands his campaign of destruction in Ukraine and then waits to gauge the international response. When none is forthcoming, he pushes further. Putin benefits from escalation dominance because the West has handed him this advantage. Many seek to justify this excessive caution by arguing that the West does not want to get drawn into the war. Such excuses are unconvincing. Russia openly sells the invasion of Ukraine to its people as a “holy war” against the West and claims to be fighting NATO forces in Ukraine. Like it or not, the West is already involved in the current war and will inevitably face a far more immediate threat from Russia if Putin is not resoundingly defeated in Ukraine…

New UK defence secretary. A Very British Coup – film. Rachel Reeves’ plan. Chris Williamson – Andy Burnham will win – any change? Disaster befalls the UK under a seemingly corrupt Conservative government. The Labour Party is elected – but committed to radical change, under a firmly left-wing leader. That’s not supposed to happen. Who will save the traditional rulers? Harry Perkins, an unassuming, working class, very left-wing Leader of the Labour Party and Member of Parliament for Sheffield Central, becomes Prime Minister in March 1991 after his party wins a landslide majority in that year’s general election, defeating the incumbent Conservative government beleaguered by a banking sector crisis. The priorities of the Perkins Government include dissolving all newspaper monopolies, withdrawal from NATO, removing all American military bases on UK soil, unilateral nuclear disarmament, and true open government. Newspaper magnate Sir George Fison, with allies within British political and Civil Service circles, moves immediately to discredit him, with the United States the key, but covert, conspirator. The most effective of the Prime Minister’s domestic enemies is the aristocratic Sir Percy Browne, Head of MI5, whose ancestors “unto the Middle Ages” have exercised subtle power behind the scenes. However, Perkins finds support in Joan Cook, his Home Secretary; Fred Thompson, his Press Secretary; Inspector Page, his police bodyguard; and Sir Montague Kowalski, the Chief Scientific Adviser to the Ministry of Defence. Marcus Morgan, the US Secretary of State, visits London to try to persuade Perkins of his country’s need of a nuclear deterrent, suggesting that American financial assistance in repairing the British economy is conditional upon the abandonment of his defence policies. However, as Perkins undiplomatically rejects his pleas, asserting that his government has a mandate to enact said policies, severe financial pressure is applied to Britain in retaliation for his actions. The government turns to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which agrees to help, but only on condition that expenditure be cut by £10 billion, which would force Perkins to abandon most of his spending commitments. While the IMF offer is being debated in Cabinet, Perkins receives a call from his Foreign Secretary Tom Newsome, who has been having meetings in Sweden, and is able to announce that the International State Bank of Moscow has agreed to lend the money without preconditions.[3] In retaliation, Newsome’s affair with Maureen Jackson, a member of the Hampstead Labour Party, is reported by Fison’s newspapers, alleging that she posed a security risk owing to spurious IRA connections. Newsome is forced to resign from the Cabinet and his wife commits suicide after being harassed by journalists. During Annette’s funeral, Thompson, fearing a smear campaign against the Perkins ministry, asks Perkins if rumours about him being a homosexual are true; Perkins patiently denies the accusation, stating that he had a brief relationship years earlier with a woman who later married someone else, and who had corresponded with him after he became prime minister. Failed negotiations between the government and trade unions to formulate an economic strategy result in working-to-rule by the United Power Workers’ Union purportedly over job losses that the adoption of alternative energy might incur. The resultant blackouts seriously damage public opinion of the Perkins Government. Thompson, with the aid of his aristocratic girlfriend Elizabeth Fain, outlines the members of the conspiracy, including the moderate, politically ambitious Chancellor of the Exchequer Lawrence Wainwright, who lost the last Labour leadership election to Perkins two years before. With this information, Perkins bluffs Wainwright into ending the strike by threatening either to investigate his connections with his co-conspirators via a public inquiry, or leak information about them to the press. With the crisis swiftly resolved, Wainwright is demoted to Northern Ireland Secretary and Cook is promoted to Chancellor of the Exchequer. The Perkins Government’s policies for nuclear disarmament and neutrality, despite the live national broadcast of the disarming of a nuclear warhead, are hampered by the Chiefs of Staff fudging the figures regarding British, NATO and Warsaw Pact military capabilities, representatives of the United States government and armed forces claiming that the removal of US military bases can only be achieved after five years (after the latest possible date for the next general election), and the covert assassination of Sir Montague staged as a road accident.

Ex-govt minister Norman Baker on the Royals – William agreeing to housing on Duchy estates. Norman Baker on Prince William and the Truth about the Duchy of Cornwall Estate Throwing the Book at Them and Norman Baker This week’s podcast from Norman Baker takes a deep dive into the unusual arrangements that surround the Duchy of Cornwall and Prince William’s secretive stewardship of this billion pound estate. The Duchy of Cornwall is not a private estate. Private estates pay capital gains tax and corporation tax, and they don’t get regulated by Acts of Parliament. The Duchy does none of those things but it is regulated by Acts of Parliament, which no genuinely private estate would be. Clement Attlee said they weren’t private. Constitutional lawyers say they aren’t private. And the Royals were legally prohibited from owning private land before 1800, so by definition the Duchy couldn’t have been private before then, and there’s been no Act of Parliament since to make it so. What’s happened is that the crown has simply annexed it through bureaucratic drift, and we’ve let them get away with it. William takes around £23 million a year from the Duchy, roughly 150 times the Prime Minister’s salary, for which he is accountable to nobody. He pays tax on it voluntarily, at a rate he declines to disclose. The exception being last week’s briefing to The Sunday Times that he paid £7m tax on it last year, I discuss in the interview why this seems a very low number. Meanwhile, he charges the Navy to refuel warships at Plymouth and charges Dartmoor Prison £1.5 million a year in rent on a building that currently has nobody in it. He has loaded his advisory board with investment bankers and property developers, and his priority is clearly maximising his personal income from the Duchy rather than carrying out public duties. The political class knows all this and does nothing. There hasn’t been a proper parliamentary debate on royal finances since 2011. The Public Accounts Committee is currently looking at a narrow slice of the Crown Estate, but the picture is far bigger than that. The public mood has shifted and anti-monarchist sentiment is at around 45%, yet you can count on one hand the MPs willing to say anything about it. Labour has a majority and a Public Accounts Committee inquiry already underway. If they don’t use this moment, I’m afraid the conclusion is obvious: no government will. 00:00:00 Introduction – Norman Baker & James Fairclough 00:00:25 What Is the Duchy of Cornwall? Palestinian Action court case – 4 deemed terrorists today. Over 100 arrested at London protest. UK court jails Palestine Action activists on ‘terrorism’ charges Quartet convicted on criminal damage and GBH charges, but judge insists raid on Israeli arms company was ‘terrorist act’. A United Kingdom court has handed jail sentences to four activists from the Palestine Action group on “terror” charges after they were convicted for a raid on an Israeli arms company. Judge Jeremy Johnson at Woolwich Crown Court handed down sentences of about five to eight years to the quartet as he branded their August 2024 raid on the Elbit Systems site in Bristol a “terrorist act”. Last month, four of six activists on trial were convicted of criminal damage. One of the defendants was also found guilty of striking a police officer with a sledgehammer. The group said their aim was to “dismantle drones and weaponry” they believed would be used to kill people in the Gaza Strip. Palestine Action was formally proscribed as a “terrorist” organisation in the UK last July. Justice Johnson said there was a “terrorism connection” as there was “serious property damage” to Israeli weapons and claimed the defendants carried out the action to influence the British government and intimidate Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer. The Filton 25 Defence Committee NGO said: “The four protestors sentenced today destroyed over 40 Israeli weapons, including killer drones, which are used in almost every massacre of Palestinians in Gaza. By taking direct action, they saved lives. That is not terrorism, it is a duty. Today’s ruling will be appealed to correct this serious miscarriage of justice.” Johnson jailed Samuel Corner, 23, for seven years and eight months. He was convicted of having hit police officer Kate Evans twice on the back with a 3kg (7lbs) sledgehammer, leaving her with a fractured spine.

BBC – International Criminal Court chief who Israel threatened to kill, is suspended – story. ICC chief prosecutor Karim Khan suspended amid sexual misconduct inquiry Khan, a prominent British lawyer, has repeatedly denied the allegations which first emerged in 2024 The chief prosecutor of the international criminal court, Karim Khan, has been suspended after a disciplinary process triggered by sexual abuse allegations against him reached a conclusion. The ICC’s governing body announced the decision on Monday evening after its executive committee voted to refer the proceedings against Khan to a special session of the court’s member states for them to consider his future. According to a document seen by the Guardian, the committee of 21 of the court’s member states voted by qualified majority to determine that Khan had committed serious misconduct in connection to the sexual abuse claims. Khan, a prominent British lawyer, has repeatedly denied the allegations which first emerged in 2024 and threw his tenure leading the court’s prosecution department into disarray. The claims were brought by a woman who worked for him at the court’s headquarters in The Hague. The decision to refer the proceedings to the ICC’s 125 member states is an unprecedented move for the court of last resort, and could lead to a vote on whether to remove the prosecutor from office. In a statement, the governing body said its decision to suspend Khan was “not an indication of the final outcome”. Khan had already temporarily stepped aside from running the division of the ICC that investigates and prosecutes individuals accused of atrocities. It said the executive committee had made its decision based on a UN watchdog report and the advice of a panel of judicial experts, as well as written submissions, understood to have been submitted by Khan and the alleged victim. The vote by the committee is the latest development in a process that has embroiled the ICC for almost two years. The allegations made by the ICC staffer relate to Khan’s conduct between 2023 and 2024. The woman has alleged he engaged in coercive and nonconsensual sexual behaviour over an extended period. The alleged misconduct is said to have occurred in hotel rooms on work trips, in Khan’s office and at his home. Khan’s lawyers have previously said he “categorically denies” having “harassed or mistreated any individual, or having misused his position or authority, or engaged in any conduct that could be interpreted as coercive, exploitative, or professionally inappropriate”.

Russia has a list of where drones are made in UK. #This Is Bristol – arms manufacturers in Bristol – international anti war conference. Russia names four UK locations as targets and warns strikes could ‘become a reality’ Dmitry Medvedev happily shared a full list of locations in the crosshairs (Picture: Reuters/Getty Images) Russia has issued a direct threat to four UK locations that it says have been aiding Ukraine and contributing to ‘dragging’ Europe into the conflict. Dmitry Medvedev, the former Russian president and Vladimir Putin’s deputy head of security council, released a list of 23 sites he says are now in the crosshairs of the Russian armed forces for supporting Ukraine in the production of attack drones. In a post on X, he wrote: ‘Russian Defense Ministry’s statement must be taken literally: the list of European facilities which make drones & other equipment is a list of potential targets for the Russian armed forces. ‘When strikes become a reality depends on what comes next. Sleep well, European partners!’ Russia said producing weapons for Ukraine would lead to ‘unpredictable consequences’ (Picture: Getty Images) The UK locations identified were Reading, street addresses in London and Leicester, and a road running through the RAF base in Mildenhall, Suffolk, which is predominantly used by the United States Air Force and commonly referred to as its ‘gateway to the United Kingdom’. The firms it claims are involved were named as Fire Point and Horizon Tech.

Judge Johnson has done precisely nothing to counter the overwhelming impression that the Filton activists’ prosecutions were entirely political. He quite openly rigged both trials in manifold ways, as former British ambassador Craig Murray has set out. Let me quote from him at length the ways Judge Johnson flagrantly skewed the hearings to the detriment of the activists and justice: Judge Johnson ruled that the defendants were not permitted to refer to their motives. He ruled that the jury may not be informed of their absolute right to acquit. He attempted to have the leading defence barrister, Rajiv Menon KC, prosecuted for contempt of court for informing the jury of their rights. He ruled that terms including ‘genocide’ and ‘ethnic cleansing’ may not be used in court. He ordered that the notebooks and other writings of the accused be redacted to withhold from the jury any information related to Elbit’s supply of weapons to Israel. He enforced the concealment from the jury of the nature of the weapons and equipment that had been damaged. He granted anonymity to senior Elbit staff and admitted their evidence without the defence being able to cross-examine. He ruled that the trial had *not* been prejudiced by the Secretary of State [Yvette Cooper] and the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police [Sir Mark Rowley] stating the offences as fact throughout national media. He allowed the release to the media of highly edited and selective prosecution video footage during the trial which gave a false impression of events. He permitted the admission of Metropolitan Police video evidence which they had given over to Elbit’s sole custody for an entire year. In a trial with so many extraordinary anomalous moments, perhaps the most glaring was Judge Johnson’s efforts to get the main defence barrister in the first trial, Rajiv Menon KC, jailed for contempt of court simply for noting to the jury in his summing up speech that they had a hundreds-of-years-old right in law to acquit. If you are baffled by why the jury refused to convict the Palestine Action defendants, it’s because – unlike them – you didn’t hear the actual evidence. You heard what the media wanted you to know. Judge Johnson’s behaviour was so unprecedented and certain to have a chilling effect on the ability of defence barristers to represent their clients – the Filton defendants decided to dismiss their barristers from summing up in their second trial to avoid their lawyers facing prison for doing their job and defending them – that the Court of Appeal had no choice but to overrule Judge Johnson’s contempt proceedings against Menon. Murray rightly concludes: “That is an astonishing list of nefarious actions by Judge Johnson. Read it again. Many people will surely conclude, it is Judge Johnson who should be in jail.”

Palestine Action activists jailed over factory raid A person wearing a red jumpsuit and black cap, using a sledgehammer to damage equipment inside the factory. , Four people were convicted for the violent clash which fractured a police officer’s spine and caused £1.2m worth of damage Four Palestine Action activists have been jailed after causing £1.2m of damage at a UK site of an Israel-based defence firm.Activists at Palestine Action protest – Elbit withdrew some CCTV footage. Charlotte Head, 30, Samuel Corner, 23, Leona Kamio, 30, and Fatema Rajwani, 21, were convicted of criminal damage in a retrial after they broke into the Elbit Systems factory near Bristol in August 2024. Corner was jailed for seven years and eight months for criminal damage and inflicting grievous bodily harm on a police sergeant. The judge, Mr Justice Johnson, said Corner had had no justification for the “extreme and gratuitous force” used. The case is believed to be the first time that convictions for criminal damage have been classified as being connected to terrorism. The judge said their actions had aimed to influence the government. Head, who drove the prison van into the compound, was sentenced to five years in prison, Kamio was also handed a five-year jail term, and Rajwani received a prison sentence of four years and eight months. The offenders will not qualify for early release from prison provisions and the Parole Board will assess their risk to the public when it determines when they can be set free. All four will also serve an additional one year on a licence in the community at the end of their terms. Green Party Leader Zack Polanski said it was “gut-wrenching to see four young people jailed for direct action against an arms supplier to Israel”. He added that the sentence was a “truly dangerous attack on the right to protest”. Labour MP John McDonnell said the scale of the sentences was “truly shocking”. Johnson said two of the activists had livestreamed the raid and posted the footage to social media, as part of an effort to “glorify criminality and vigilantism”. He added that they had been “reckless” about who would be injured and had been heavily involved in organising the raid with the right of veto over each part of the plan. Corner, a former student at the University of Oxford, was also convicted of causing grievous bodily harm after he fractured Sgt Kate Evans’ spine with a sledgehammer in the raid…

Scott Ritter – Russia, EU, NATO. Armenia in EU. “Today Europe Is a Rabid Dog”: Scott Ritter Unleashes Stunning Attack on Europe at SPIEF | APT #ScottRitter #SPIEF #Russia “Today Europe Is a Rabid Dog.” Those were among the most controversial remarks made by former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter during a panel discussion at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). In a speech that quickly drew attention, Ritter claimed that “Europe doesn’t exist,” argued that Europe “stands for nothing,” accused Germany of returning to its militaristic past, and warned that the world is becoming increasingly dangerous as nuclear tensions rise. Ritter also criticized U.S. foreign policy, describing American actions in Iraq as driven by regime change rather than disarmament, and issued a stark warning about nuclear conflict, arguing that once a nuclear war begins, it could escalate into global destruction. Watch the full highlights from Ritter’s explosive remarks on Europe, Germany, the United States, NATO, and the growing risk of nuclear confrontation. #ScottRitter #SPIEF #Russia #Europe #Germany #NATO #Ukraine #Geopolitics #EuropeanUnion #USPolitics #NuclearWar #WorldPolitics

Robert Oulds, who runs The Bruges Group, on Eurosceptic investigative journalist Rodney Atkinson, who died on 30th May.  The European Union’s Evil Pedigree – Berlin 1942 Posted By: Rodney Atkinson: July 05, 2012 INTRODUCTION by Rodney Atkinson: The most precise blueprint for the structure and indeed the protectionist and corporatist political economy of the 1957 founded “European Economic Community” which we now know as the European Union, was the publication in 1942 in Berlin of the “Europaeische Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft” of which two of the most significant lectures are here translated by Edward Spalton. Those who thought that the “building of Europe” in the 1950s could in no way replicate the German dominated Europe of the 1940s may now be reconsidering their optimism. The years since the second world war have culminated in a rich German State, dominant German industry and a European Union run by Berlin while most EU countries seem politically powerless and approach bankruptcy. Monnet and Schuman were certainly not fascists but, to take a metaphor from cricket, those who could be described as second order batsmen and second eleven promoters of the EEC project had often been deeply involved in the first Nazi attempt. The use of the same title for the project – “European Economic Community” suggests that the founding fathers of the EU recognised that there would be a degree of brand recognition and loyalty to the vision of the Nazi project amongst the political classes, which could be carried forward to its post war revival. Some of the more prominent of these personalities are described in Rodney Atkinson’s youtube video on “The Nazis and Fascists who founded the European Union and their influence today” and on the website www.freenations.freeuk.com there is substantial documentation of the true nature of the European Union and its indisputable tendency to re-create the Europe of the 1940s with contributions from all over Europe. In their intense, far-ranging investigation of the origins of the EU “The Great Deception”, Booker & North trace the idea for the central, basic, bureaucratic structure of the post war EU to Monnet and the British civil servant, Arthur Salter. They had both been frustrated in the Twenties by the difficulties of achieving international agreements and came up with the concept of a supra-national, unsackable, expert, technocratic secretariat-cum-executive with the sole perpetual power of initiative in a standing council of European nations. Able to take the long view and freed from the vulgar necessity of achieving democratic consent, the “wise men” of this Commission would drive the European unification project forward in the interest of all the people of Europe, regardless of national differences or public opinion in any one country or all of them. This was not at all a Nazi idea. It was, of course, massively authoritarian and arrogant to believe that such supermen existed – with the wisdom to guide and steer the destinies of the nations of a continent. The Commissioners frequently turned out to be rather shoddy, failed politicians in their own countries. The real power lay with their permanent civil servants. In setting out this organisational scenario , Booker and North were dismissive of the idea of any Nazi input or connection with the institutional structure of the post war EEC. The Nazis did not invent any really new ideas. They continued a view of the world (Weltanschauung) which has predominated amongst the German political class since before Germany became a single nation and continues today. The methods change but the objectives remain remarkably constant. They saw their national destiny (Schicksal) as defined by natural resources and geography (plus the vitality of the Volk (people)) and devised a combined academic discipline, geopolitics (Geopolitik) to give it a rationale. It was a Common Market, a customs union (Zollverein), which brought the many German states together into a single, large area economy (Grossraumwirtschaft) in the 1840s. Not only did German politicians aspire to such a single economic order amongst Germans; they believed that Germany needed the resources of the peoples of Central Europe (Mitteleuropa) and the Balkans under German control in a single living space (Lebensraum). This would provide a market for German manufactured goods and a source of raw materials. The similarity with the arguments put forward today for the advantages of the EU Single Market is inescapable. Long before Germany’s unification in 1871, the delegates at the revolutionary parliament, meeting in Frankfurt in 1848, decided that the Balkans (then part of the old Austrian and Turkish empires) formed part of Germany’s natural economic hinterland. They also decided that no significant Slavic power should be allowed to arise in the area. In 1999 the EU/NATO powers followed this policy and ensured the destruction of Yugoslavia. Today’s German politicians openly talk of exercising a “benevolent hegemony” over Central and South Eastern Europe. It is easy to see how these German ideas and world outlook dovetailed into the differently motivated, post war institutional structure, devised by Monnet and Salter and promoted by Monnet’s front man Schuman. In 1971 even the Foreign Office mandarins described this authoritarian, technocratic system as “bureaucratic” and its workings as “remote and unmanageable” – and they were working for Britain’s subjection to it!

The EU was designed by WWII Nazis for occupied Europe. Rodney Atkinson’s talk: Brexit or Die. When you look at the people who were involved in founding it initially running it and who supported it throughout let’s look at one of them after him was the first president of the European Commission in Brussels he had been during the war the the lead a member of many leading Nazi organisations he’s a member of the National Socialist University lecturers Association and the National Socialist league for protection of the law he qualified wait for it as a Nazi leadership officer in 1938 during the Nazi government of course hin represented Hitler in negotiations with fascist Italy concerning the legislative framework for an extended dictatorship throughout Europe and I just quote one thing from it the legal order of the dictatorial state furat in German or the greater Germany has the task of protecting the Integrity of the health and the racial health of its people the Supreme race we know who they are has to be particularly protected from the Jewish Race by eliminating it from society for all time so this man became the first president of the EC Commission in 1958 hin tetler F falkenstein was appointed by Hitler a secretary of his Europe committee and then chosen by atau in 1949 for a similar job as director of the European division for the West German foreign office where of course he was in a great position to lead negotiate ations in the founding of the European Community valter Funk he joined the Nazi party in 1931 and became Hitler’s personal economic advisor he was also Reich press chief minister under Gobles at the propaganda Ministry and finally became the reich’s economics minister in 1938 and on the 3D of December 1938 Funk signed a decree which provided for the economic and financial disposition of the Jews funk’s 1941 Nazi blueprint for the European economic Community yes they use the same words is virtually indistinguishable from the structure of today’s European Union Funk was convicted of the nurburg trials but he was released like so many of them were by the mid 1950s and what happened then well he was employed by the lower saction education Ministry where he helped to propagate the new European economic Community to German schools and universities now as a gentleman called Hans Yosef glober glober was a pretty obnoxious individual even by Nazi standards he drafted the nurenberg race law and helped to formulate the emergency legislation that gave Hitler unlimited dictatorial powers from 1933 but lo and behold up Pops glober after the war as a senior advisor on appointments to Conrad adenau the chancellor of Germany and of course he worked on the plans for and the foundation of what we now know as the European Union the BBC now the BBC you’ve heard of Lord wreath of course they run lectures called wreath lectures to this day in his diary in July 1934 after the night of the Long Knives when Hitler and had his enemies in the Nazi movement murdered lord wath of the BBC wrote I really admire the way Hitler has cleaned up what looked like an incipient revolt and after the 1939 invasion of Czechoslovakia wath wrote Hitler continues his magnificent efficiency no wonder the BBC kept Churchill off the air for 24 consecutive months at the between 1937 and 1939 Churchill was forced to go to France to radio Normandy which was run by an Englishman where he was able to broadcast freely for the first time to the British people because of the censorship by the BBC it was the BBC who shortly before her death quite recently in the early 1990s interviewed sir oswal Mosley’s wife Lady Diana Mosley who made oswal Mosley looked quite a nice fascist and of course Lady Diana Mosley poured complete scorn on British Euros Skeptics like you and I and gave total support to the European Union so it’s no surprise that many Nazi organizations founded during the 1930s and 40s are still around today being recognized by the European Union and being involved in politics the TPA Foundation the Federation of European ethnic groups and of course the Charlamagne prize people like Edward Heath and Tony Blair got the Charlamagne prize founded by Nazis and then re refounded again after the war…

Shares in Elon Musk. Paul Krugman Claims ‘Rigged System’ Made Elon Musk a Trillionaire, Brands SpaceX a ‘Ponzi Scheme’ Former New York Times columnist Paul Krugman argued Elon Musk was only able to become the world’s first trillionaire because of a “rigged system.” The famous economist also bashed SpaceX — Musk’s rocket company that just went public — by calling it nothing more than a “Ponzi scheme.” Krugman criticized Musk, SpaceX, and Musk’s leadership of his other companies during an appearance on Ari Melber’s MS NOW show on Friday night. “This is a rigged system. Sorry, but this is genuine rigging,” Krugman said. “Clearly, the system has all been tilted into producing this absurd valuation that makes the world’s first trillionaire.” He said that was obviously the case because a lot of people were being “forced” to invest in SpaceX — whether they wanted to or not — because it was being added to major indices and top universities have sizable portions of their endowments parked in the rocket company’s stock. Krugman said SpaceX’s $2.10 trillion valuation after its first day of trading on Friday didn’t make a lot of sense to him, either. He said it would be fine if Musk had a record of “actually pulling off technological miracles routinely” — but he said the man running SpaceX, Tesla, and NeuraLink doesn’t have that. He also ripped Musk for his leadership of X. Krugman said Musk — after buying the app formerly known as Twitter in late 2022 — turned the platform into a “right-wing, Nazi-infested wasteland.” And speaking of Nazis, Krugman recently said the U.S. will have to go through a “de-MAGAfication” process after President Donald Trump leaves office, just like Germany went through a Denazification process following World War II. Krugman wasn’t the only one on cable news complaining about Musk becoming a trillionaire on Friday. His former NYT colleague Michelle Goldberg called Musk a “white supremacist” on MS NOW, and political pundit Bakari Sellers made the same accusation over on CNN. Those comments came a few hours after Musk’s rocket company SpaceX went public. The stock jumped nearly 20% in its first day of trading, closing around $161 per share….

Benjamin Freedman – 1961 – how Britain promised US Palestine if they joined WW1. The Balfour Declaration was merely Great Britain’s promise to pay the Zionists what they had agreed upon as a consideration for getting the United States into the war. So this great Balfour Declaration, that you hear so much about, is just as phony as a three dollar bill. And I don’t think I could make it more emphatic than that. Now, that is where all the trouble started. The United States went in the war. The United States crushed Germany. We went in there, and it’s history. You know what happened. Now, when the war was ended, and the Germans went to Paris, to the Paris Peace Conference in 1919, there were 117 Jews there, as a delegation representing the Jews, headed by Bernard Baruch. I was there: I ought to know. Now what happened? The Jews at that peace conference, when they were cutting up Germany and parceling out Europe to all these nations that claimed a right to a certain part of European territory, the Jews said, “How about Palestine for us?” And they produced, for the first time to the knowledge of the Germans, this Balfour Declaration. So the Germans, for the first time realized, “Oh, that was the game! That’s why the United States came into the war.” And the Germans for the first time realized that they were defeated, they suffered this terrific reparation that was slapped onto them, because the Zionists wanted Palestine and they were determined to get it at any cost. Now, that brings us to another very interesting point. When the Germans realized this, they naturally resented it. Up to that time, the Jews had never been better off in any country in the world than they had been in Germany. You had Mr. Rathenau there, who was maybe 100 times as important in industry and finance as is Bernard Baruch in this country. You had Mr. Balin, who owned the two big steamship lines, the North German Lloyd’s and the Hamburg-American Lines. You had Mr. Bleichroder, who was the banker for the Hohenzollern family. You had the Warburgs in Hamburg, who were the big merchant bankers — the biggest in the world. The Jews were doing very well in Germany. No question about that. Now, the Germans felt: “Well, that was quite a sellout.” It was a sellout that I can best compare — suppose the United States was at war today with the Soviet Union. And we were winning. And we told the Soviet Union: “Well, let’s quit. We offer you peace terms. Let’s forget the whole thing.” And all of a sudden Red China came into the war as an ally of the Soviet Union. And throwing them into the war brought about our defeat. A crushing defeat, with reparations the likes of which man’s imagination cannot encompass. Imagine, then, after that defeat, if we found out that it was the Chinese in this country, our Chinese citizens, who all the time we thought they were loyal citizens working with us, were selling us out to the Soviet Union and that it was through them that Red China was brought into the war against us. How would we feel, in the United States against Chinese? I don’t think that one of them would dare show his face on any street. There wouldn’t be lampposts enough, convenient, to take care of them. Imagine how we would feel. Well, that’s how the Germans felt towards these Jews. “We’ve been so nice to them”; and from 1905 on, when the first Communist revolution in Russia failed, and the Jews had to scramble out of Russia, they all went to Germany. And Germany gave them refuge. And they were treated very nicely. And here they sold Germany down the river for no reason at all other than they wanted Palestine as a so-called “Jewish commonwealth.”

February 2019 – Ofcom complaint result: UKLFI exposed as creation of Israeli foreign ministryBristol Post article: BCfm cleared after being reported to Ofcom for anti-semitic conspiracy theories – It could have resulted in BCfm radio station being shut down if the complaint was upheld Tony Gosling reported to Ofcom by UK Lawyers for Israel after being accused of anti-semitism A Bristol radio station, which had one of its programmes reported for anti-semitism and racism has been cleared by Ofcom. The radio regulatory body received a complaint from “UK Lawyers for Israel’ over a show on BCfm radio, hosted by investigative journalist Tony Gosling. The weekly politics show, on the popular community radio station based in Easton, was reported for several allegations on a show which aired on November 23. Tony Gosling, who was a former BBC journalist between 1989 and 1993, has been producing and presenting ‘The Tony Gosling Politics’ show every week on BCFM radio for 11 years. They have released a statement which reads: “Whilst we are supportive of all our volunteer presenters, The Tony Gosling Politics Show only represents approximately ten percent of our political output content wise, and less than two per cent of our entire weekly output.” Mr Gosling’s programme looks at local politics and he interviews a range of councillors and MPs in the city. The show is also perhaps more well known for its alternative look at international politics, and he has a cult following online from across the world. Mr Gosling has made regular appearances on national media including the politics show with Andrew Neil on BBC One, and international channels such as Russia Today, Channel1 Russia, NTV, and recently for both Turkish and Lebanon TV.

November 2012 – Tony gets death threats on the phone from the Jewish Defence League – ‘you’re a dead man walking’ – a man calls him and Tony records the call. Audio of UK Jewish Defence League (JDL) death threat against British journalist Tony Gosling (2012) – Avon and Somerset police Special Branch investigate, trace the caller, and after six months report to Tony that the individual has been served a caution that they will proceed with a prosecution for harassment under the 1861 offences against the person act. Seems pretty clear this death threat was issued alongside the lies, copied below, which were published on their blog by London based UK JDL in November 2012.  Firstly Tony Gosling is not a ‘homophobe’. That accusation was first made in an article published by the ‘Harry’s Place’ blog, penned by Zionist David Toube and propelled by him anonymously into Private Eye in 2008. It refers to Gosling’s criticism of senior teachers at Bannerman Road Primary school in Bristol who used homosexual early learning picture books against the express wishes of the parent governors. His criticism was about the deception by teaching staff not because of the homosexual content of the books. Secondly, if you follow the JDL link you’ll find what Tony Gosling actually says about the ‘Protocols Of The Learned Elders Of Zion’ says “…I don’t think there is much doubt that the Protocols are fake…” Thirdly he is not a member of Bristol Palestine Solidarity Campaign and has never been to any of their meetings.

Autumn 2014 – Tony’s documentary production and distribution business shut down by its bank. Our thriving Co-op business bank account ordered closed for undisclosed reasons. Tony Gosling and Ben Edwards founded i-Contact Video Network to distribute documentaries on VHS video and DVD and to make their own documentaries as well as attend news events and sell video footage to TV news channels. Amongst the films we distributed were Operation Solstice, Coconut Revolution, Mark Purdey and Organophosphates, McLibel, 9/11 In Plane Site, Ludicrous Diversion and The Battle of Trafalgar. These, plus books, and even a board game about drug dealing ‘Dollars and Dibble’, were all available via mail order and we supplied libraries around the world too. The bank had clearly been ordered to investigate us for money laundering, although they never admitted it. All the questions they asked Ben and I were about proving our identity through passports etc.. When we did, yet more letters kept arriving demanding more proofs, birth certificates etc. and eventually when one of us missed supplying the required information, within a week or so of being asked, the account was summarily closed and we got a cheque made out to one of us with the few hundred pounds that was in the business bank account. Since neither of us could get a business bank account up and running for at least a few months and the bank account meant nobody could any longer use the website, we made the reluctant decision to shut it down. Thus was a thriving business killed off by the Co_operative bank. Having said that, co-op were not quite the worst. We did apply to open an account at Bristol’s ‘ethical’ Triodos bank, who proceeded to string us along for several months and then said our business was too risky for them to provide an account!
