Part One News Review and Investigative Reports

Oliver Tickell, former Editor of The Ecologist, joins Martin and Tony. The state of the world, climate change, rising CO2, but is it really as dangerous to the planet as we’re being told? The Kyoto Protocol, the world’s first tentative step towards avoiding the threat of climate change, has failed. We urgently need a new course of action. In Kyoto2 the author presents us with a strikingly original new solution. Using a system of finite production rights for greenhouse gases, which would be traded by organisations on a global auction, Kyoto2 seeks to succeed where the original agreement failed. Regulated by an independent body, the funds could be poured back into healing the wounds inflicted by climate change. In his combination of idealism with realistic proposals, Tickell exposes the flaws in current approaches, and envisions a fairer and more effective system. Kyoto2 promises to banish the dejection of the post-Kyoto era, reviving hope that the cure for the crisis facing our planet is still achievable.

Dr Chris Busby on the 1994 Green Committee of 100 protest group back in the day, part of the Green Party. The Ethics of Non-Violent Direct Action – I would like to begin with a question. If you were sailing on the Titanic and were aware of the danger of a fatal collision, that is to say, you knew that the present course and speed were dangerously wrong, how would you react? Would you try to get to see the Captain to explain your fears, your analysis? Or would you position yourself as close as possible to a lifeboat and hope for the best? Or would you, perhaps, act independently and for the greater good (and your own) and slip down to the engine room to disconnect something vital? In 1992 the nuclear power station at Trawsfynydd in North Wales had been closed for a year. The station was over twenty five years old, its planned lifespan, and the welds in the reactor pressure vessel had become neutron embrittled. The proposal was to restart it and run at a higher temperature to help make the welds more ductile. The possibilities for catastrophe were infinite: meltdown would make North Wales uninhabitable and would spread radiation as far as Chernobyl. We knew that there was some pressure brought to bear on the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate. In informal conversations with anti- nuclear activists they had expressed their own misgivings and had looked to the anti-nuclear lobby to provide a back up of public support for what they wanted to do, for safety’s sake, and against the background of government needs to package and sell the nuclear industry without anyone rocking that particular boat. This, then, was one particular Titanic, in 1992. The anti-nuclear groups in Wales had demonstrated in the conventional manner. People had paraded through the streets of nearby and more distant towns, chanting and carrying banners. In spite of an opinion poll which showed 56% of the constituency opposing the restart, the Green Party candidate in the General Election, fought largely on this issue, received derisory levels of support. A decision was made to act directly: all other avenues had been tried. Green Party activists chained the inner electric security gate shut, fastening themselves to it and preventing all traffic movements in and out of the station.

Depleted Uranium ammunition being supplied by UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace from the UK to Ukraine, which will cause permanent cancer and birth defects wherever it is used. The Endless War: Iraq’s Heavy Legacy of Depleted Uranium Warning: This investigation includes graphic images some readers may find disturbing. In a remote and far village, with no paved roads, and mostly mud-brick houses, 16-year-old Ahmed Daoud goes every day to play football with his friends, in a dirt yard near the palm grove on the edge of the impoverished village of Khalil Al-Husseinawi. But the boys stopped playing for several days in April 2003 because of the heavy shelling of tank and anti-aircraft positions by the Iraqi army in the orchard and around the village (south of Diyala province) to hide from US aircrafts. After the shelling stopped, Ahmad and his friends returned to play football, and the view of the damaged tanks was not worrying for them; as long as the planes would not return to the skies of the village; but what the young players did not know was that they were dying in the palm grove, in the burning tanks bombed with depleted uranium, and in the dust they inhale running after the ball. Six months have passed since the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime, during which much has changed in Iraq, as well as in the village of Khalil Al-Husseinawi, where Ahmad lives with his family, while playing in that dirt arena, Ahmed fell to the ground, and this was his last reign with football, which he would never be able to kick and pass to his friends again. After many reviews of private hospitals and doctors’ clinics, Ahmed was found to have lymphoma, in a video we got from a special source in the Diyala Health Department archive, dating back to 2011, Ahmed appeared as his hair has fallen, and the symptoms of the disease appeared as he talks about his health, which is getting worse day by day, stressing that the doctors he consulted directly attributed the cause of cancer to radiation exposure. “Our areas came under American bombardment, and six months later I was diagnosed with this disease, I have left my studies, and we don’t have the money to get treated, I appeal to the government to help us and get me out of Iraq so that I can be treated”. With these few and tiring words, Ahmed documented his testimony and his illness. His mother said: “He was in full health before the American bombing, but after that he showed symptoms of fatigue, his feet began to get numb every now and then. Tumors appeared under his armpit, waist and chest, and he was not diagnosed with cancer early, so we could no longer do anything” Ahmad died in 2011, eight years after being diagnosed with cancer. This video was a sad testimony documenting an urgent appeal to survive, but no one heard, and the government he appealed for to help him, did not lend him a hand, and blocked the only video of him for all these years, before we found it. This story was the beginning of our investigation into the devastating effects of the use of depleted uranium weapons in the 1991 Gulf War, the so-called Desert Storm, the 2003 war that ended with the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime, and the entry of the US-led coalition into Iraq. Another video we got from private sources in the Diyala Health Department, also from the village of Khalil Al-Husseinawi, shows a group of five women with cancer, talking about the circumstances of the injury, where Sana’ Hamad says that two weeks after the bombing of US aircraft went out with other women to the field, thereafter strange symptoms began to appear on them, and when they underwent medical tests found that they had cancer….

Dr Chris Busby on the assassination of Petra Kelly, head of German Green Party, over her anti nuclear stance. Prof. Ernest Sternglass, who was working closely with her, was convinced she was ‘suicided’. Unusual deaths of political figures and protestors. Mass media narratives. Time of crisis around the world now. Who Killed Petra Kelly? January 1993 Mark Hertsgaard – The news immediately made headlines around the world, not only because Petra Kelly’s death was so dramatic but also because the life that preceded it was so widely admired. More than anyone, she personified Green consciousness, one of the ascendant social forces of the late 20th century. As a lifelong grass-roots activist, and from 1983 to 1990 as a member of the German parliament, Kelly inspired millions with her rapid-fire indictments against the ecological dangers, social injustices, and spiritual poverty of modern military-industrial civilization. She was a leading figure in the European peace and human-rights campaigns of the 1980s, mass movements that eventually resulted in the reversal of the superpower nuclear-arms race and the collapse of Soviet totalitarianism. In recognition of her enduring historical significance, The Sunday Times of London in 1991 selected Kelly as one of the “One Thousand Makers of the 20th Century,” placing her vita just before that of one of her heroes, John F. Kennedy. Impassioned, determined, selfsacrificing, Petra Kelly was a Mother Teresa with clenched fist: a nonviolent revolutionary striving tirelessly for a future where the meek really would inherit the earth. How did this extraordinary woman end up with a bullet in her brain at age 44? Was it murder? A suicide pact? A political assassination? The continuing sense of shock and confusion was readily apparent at Kelly’s funeral a week later, on October 26. Some 400 family members, friends, and admirers gathered that afternoon at Waldfriedhof, the lovely forest cemetery above the old walled city of Wurzburg, to pay their last respects. The first eulogist was Lev Kopelev, a Russian writer who had gone into exile in Germany in 1968 and been friends with Kelly and Bastian since 1982. Kopelev likened Kelly to Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr., and reminded the mourners that death is part of life. But, the Russian thundered, his long gray beard quivering, “I don’t believe it was suicide. They did not leave us by their own free will!” The last person to speak that afternoon was Lukas Beckmann, a tall, hulking blond who was perhaps Kelly’s oldest and closest political ally. Like Kelly, Beckmann had been among the original group of activists who founded the German Green Party in 1980; at the first meeting, he recalled, her voice was “like a bubbling spring and her pen moved across the paper as if in flight.”

Afshin Rattans interviews John Perkins, author of ‘Confessions of an Economic Hitman’, on how his book came to be secretly written and printed, and he was threatened. Mafia behind the scenes of government and a supine press. Journalists can’t get their stories published. John Perkins is an activist and author. As a former chief economist at Boston strategic-consulting firm Chas. T. Main, Perkins says that he was an “economic hit man” for 10 years, helping U.S. intelligence agencies and multinational corporations cajole and blackmail foreign leaders into serving U.S. foreign policy and awarding lucrative contracts to American business. However, after several years struggling internally over the role he was playing in crippling foreign economies, he quit his consulting job. In the 1980s Perkins founded and directed a successful independent energy company, which he subsequently sold. Since then he has been heavily involved with non-profit organizations in Ecuador and around the world. He continues this work today, in addition to his writing. His new book, Confessions of an Economic Hitman, 3rd Edition: China’s EHM Strategy; Ways to Stop the Global Takeover, a follow-up to international best-seller Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, will be released on February 28th, 2023.

Tucker Carlson was sacked off Fox News TV – possible reasons for this. Now he’s on Twitter. The fall of the Western Empire. The West vs BRICS. Read Tucker Carlson’s Speech Delivered After Last Fox News Show I just want to start by saying that I’m grateful to be here, and I want to tell you why I am here. There are two specific reasons. The first and most immediate is that during this fall’s midterm elections, I got almost every single call wrong. I typically don’t weigh in on races because, you know, what do I know? I don’t actually cover politics. I’m not that interested. But this time … I thought I’ve just got to take some time off and think about why I was so unbelievably wrong. So, I went pheasant hunting. Not that it was the pheasants’ fault, but that is kind of a way to clear your head. And I wound up, because bird hunting really is, again, not good for the birds, but very good for you. And I wound up in South Dakota with Kevin [Roberts], among other people, including a couple of my college roommates. And I was just so impressed by him as a person and really having spent my life in Washington, I can tell you, if you’re not from here, the key question about anybody who runs any institution in Washington is: How false is this person? God sends messages. We can’t immediately translate all of them. So, I can’t tell you what that meant. There clearly is meaning. The point is the man who runs Heritage is not false at all. In fact, my assessment of him was, he’s completely real. He’s an honest person. He means it. He’s not playing a role. And that was so thrilling to me to see that. And by the way, it was confirmed by one of Heritage’s security people who was standing backstage with me……

Privatisation in UK by Thatcher. BBC Question Time – water company problems – should they be nationalised. Cuts to the Environment Agency. Ash Sarkar nails why water privatisation has been a disaster on BBC Question Time Private companies’ disastrous handling of our water system has been rising up the agenda in recent months. From leaky infrastructure to sewage polluting rivers and seas, the performance of the private water companies has come under increasing levels of scrutiny. The issue was discussed in depth on the latest episode of BBC Question Time, broadcast from the Sussex town of Bexhill. Defenders of the private water companies were few and far between on the show. But while some panellists and audience members called for tighter regulation of these companies, Novara Media’s Ash Sarkar took things a step further. She made the case that the private water companies should be brought into public ownership. Speaking on the panel, Sarkar said: “Privatised water companies paid out £1.4bn in shareholder dividends last year […] and 20% of your water bill is going towards shareholder profits and managing the debt for those privatised companies.” She then asked the audience: “Does that seem like a good use of your money?” The answer was a resounding no. “Do you feel you’re getting good value for your money?” Again the answer came back loud and clear as ‘no’. And finally, she asked: “Would you rather that money was going into fixing the infrastructure?” That question got a positive response. Following this, Sarkar went on to explain why privatisation of the water system is fundamentally flawed. She told the audience: “While these companies remain in private hands, there’s no incentive for them to do it. There is simply no incentive. “So Southern Water is mostly owned by an Australian investment firm and is partially owned by the American mega bank JP Morgan. So your water bills are going towards making foreign corporations rich, and because they are so fabulously rich, they can just eat up whatever fine the government decides to levy them with. “And while it would be very satisfying to see some of these CEOs in jail – and I would love it personally – what I fear is that the incentive hasn’t gone away, which is you under invest in the infrastructure, you let it crumble, because – you know – you don’t live there, you live in Manhattan or somewhere gorgeous. You don’t have to worry about the sea in Bexhill. And instead the incentive is to extract money from the system that could go towards fixing infrastructure, and you put it towards shareholder dividends.” She then went on to say that the solution to the problems facing the water system is to take the industry into public ownership. She said: “It makes financial sense at this point to bring this industry back into state control so that all of the money can go towards fixing the problems.”

Dr. John Campbell interviews sacked MP Andrew Bridgen. The role of Monarchy in a democracy. The House of Lords role. Be wary of King Charles III’s dangerous ambition to ‘reset’ society in the name of climate change activism – King Charles explains why we need a Great Reset and some kind of martial law to fix climate change so life on earth ia not destroyed by pollution. Efforts to fix the ecological crisis curtailed since Ukraine war.  The ‘Great Reset’ initiative, which was launched by the now-King Charles himself in June 2020, seeks to change society into a worrying form of neo-feudalism. One big question about King Charles III’s accession to the throne is whether he will finally put aside his politicking on climate change. While he was Prince of Wales, the King largely ignored the convention that royals must remain apolitical. He did, however, intimate in his speech following the late Queen Elizabeth’s passing that as King, he would put aside his advocacy. Opposition Leader Peter Dutton and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese have differing views on this. “[As] the King, he will have a responsibility to dispense his duties fairly as the Queen did… I think as the Queen conducted her business, he is there now as an impartial person,” Mr Dutton said on the ABC’s Insiders on Sunday. The Prime Minister disagreed, saying it would be “appropriate” for King Charles to remain outspoken: “Dealing with the challenge of climate change shouldn’t be seen as a political issue, it should be seen as an issue that is about humanity and about our very quality of life and survival as a world.”

Bilderberg Conference in Lisbon next week. Who are the Bilderberg Group? Peter Manning on his father’s book ‘Martin Bormann: Nazi in Exile’. ‘OP JB’ book by Christopher Creighton. DID THE WORLD EVER REALLY KNOW MARTIN BORMANN? A man of indescribably vast power and the sole trustee of Hitler’s secrets after May 1, 1945, in the Berlin bunker, Bormann continues to be the most controversial, perplexing figure of our times. There are those who wish him dead and continue to claim he is; for were he to emerge, it would embarrass the governments that assisted in his escape, the industrial and financial leaders who benefited from his acumen and transferred their capital to neutral nations in the closing days of World War II, and the businessmen of four continents who profited from the 750 corporations he established through- out the world as depositories of money, patents, bearer bonds, and shares in blue chip industries of the United States and Europe. There are also those who know he is not dead, and I am among those who hold this belief. When I penetrated the silence cloaking this story, after countless interviews and labori- ous research in German and American archives for revealing documents of World War II, I knew that the Bormann saga of flight capital and his escape to South America was really true. It had been covered up by an unparalleled manipulation of pub- lic opinion and the media. The closer I got to the truth, the more quiet attention I received from the forces surrounding and protecting Martin Bormann, and also from those who had a direct interest in halting my investigation. Over the period of years it took to research this book, I was the object of diligent observation by squads of Gestapo agents dispatched from South America by General “Gestapo” Mueller, who directs all securi- ty matters for Martin Bormann, Nazi in exile, and his organization, the most remarkable business group anywhere in the secret world of today. Mueller’s interest in me, an American journalist, confirmed the truth of my many interviews and my ongoing investigation: Bormann is alive, they don’t want waves, so they have been willing to expend immense time and money in tracking me and my progress.

#Charlie Skelton on how it seems that the bombing of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline was signed off at Bilderberg. Is there a 4th Reich? What’s on agenda of Bilderberg this year?  Who’s Jake Sullivan, the Man Who Reportedly Assembled ‘Dream Team’ to Destroy Nord Stream? National Security Adviser to President Biden Jake Sullivan played a prominent role in plotting the September 26, 2022, sabotage against the Russo-European Nord Stream pipelines, Pulitzer-prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh has revealed. So, who is Jake Sullivan: “the cat’s meow,” “once-in-a-generation intellect,” or a reckless hawk? “I have great respect for Hersh and his reporting and believe that Sullivan could certainly have been instrumental in pushing for and carrying out this deceitful campaign that likely has inflicted monumental damage on citizens worldwide while also sapping America’s remaining national prestige,” Wall Street analyst and investigative journalist Charles Ortel told Sputnik. In December 2021, Jake Sullivan, acting with Joe Biden’s blessing, convened men and women from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the CIA, and the State and Treasury Departments to come up with a plan on how to destruct Nord Stream 1 and 2 designed to pump Russian natural gas to Europe, according to Seymour Hersh’s recent bombshell. In early 2022, the CIA told Sullivan that they knew how to blow up the pipelines. The group decided to keep the risky plot on a hush. The US Congress wasn’t informed. The US military and intelligence operatives did their best to conceal Washington’s role in the sabotage. As per the investigative journalist, the team had concerns about the legality of the plot and was well aware that it could quickly morph into a foreign policy nightmare. After the pipelines had been destroyed, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and, later, Undersecretary for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland openly praised the development. “When any crime is committed, the immediate question to ask when seeking suspects is ‘to whose benefit?’ Not only did it benefit the US, US officials made comments before and after the pipeline’s destruction virtually confirming their role and the benefits derived,” Brian Berletic, geopolitical analyst and former US marine, told Sputnik. For his part, Jake Sullivan stated laconically on September 27, 2022, that the US was supporting efforts to investigate the “apparent sabotage” and “will continue [it’s] work to safeguard Europe’s energy security.” “Hersh’s reporting on the Nord Stream bombing is completely convincing and I know for a fact that he has reliable sources, mostly in the intelligence community, but I would rather regard Sullivan as the implementer of the attack on the pipeline by virtue of his position rather than the driving force behind it,” Philip Giraldi, former CIA station chief, now an executive director of the Council for the National Interest, told Sputnik. “To be sure, Joe Biden would have had to promote and endorse the project.”

Part Two – Ukraine/Covid/Climate Accelerationism Round-Up, With End Times Prophecy Reports

George Ferguson, former Mayor of Bristol, joins Tony and Martin. How to be a good Mayor and run a city well. How Marvin Rees has been as Mayor. The Bristol Clean Air Zone. HULL, THE PLAYFUL CAROLEAN CITY – An essay written as one of many for the Royal Fine Arts Commission’s coronation publication on planning and designAs we enter the era of Charles III, the best gift for our children would be greater freedom to play, not in civic playgrounds but within and beyond their communities. Let’s liberate our city streets and spaces for those who have had so much exploration and opportunity stolen from them. The city, never perfect, used to be our playground, and must become so again. We have, throughout the Elizabethan years, slowly filled our streets with vehicles and emptied them of fun. The pushback has started with small offerings, but it seems that the short-term election cycle inhibits politicians from doing what is necessary when faced with the fury of the car lobby. It is not good enough to condemn our children to spaces left over after planning. For transformative change we need to see our towns and cities from the viewpoint of the child, as advocated by the anarchist architect Colin Ward in his 1977 book, The Child in the City. For the sake of their physical and mental health, we should put children at the heart of our urban policymaking, planning with them and for them. Encouraging starts have been made in Bristol, where residential streets have been made safe for children to play in and high streets freed on Sundays for strolling, sitting, dancing and playing. Temporary initiatives like this allow all to experience the pleasure of traffic-free environments are easily replicable. As architects, we tend to think in terms of what we can add to spaces to make them more playable, but often the greater need is to remove obstacles. Simply getting rid of the majority of vehicles from city streets and spaces opens them up to a multitude of other uses. For children to play freely they first need to be safe to roam, and to feel safe when doing so. Over the past half-century we have let the car dominate while our Dutch and Danish colleagues have prioritised walking and cycling, creating civilized streets fit for all. As Colin Ward put it, ‘a city that is really concerned with the needs of the young will make the whole environment accessible to them’. While we should strive to make our villages, towns and cities more beautiful, while we should protect our historic buildings, spaces and skylines, we must do so in a way that makes them more welcoming.

George Monbiot on new Police Bill Public Order Bill – Rishi Sunaks War on Freedom. The coronation arrests are just the start. Police can do what they want to us now by George Monbiot – Draconian new powers allow the police to shut down every form of effective protest. It’s a green light for even greater abuses- The more unequal a society becomes, the more oppressive its laws must be. This, I think, explains new acts that would not be out of place in a police state. So vague and broad are the powers granted to the police under last year’s Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act and this year’s Public Order Act that it is no longer clear where their abuse begins and ends. At two o’clock on the morning of the coronation, the Metropolitan police, using the Police Act, arrested three people in Soho for carrying rape alarms. The police claimed they were acting on intelligence that rape alarms might be used to frighten the horses that would later be parading elsewhere. The people they arrested were volunteers working for Westminster city council as “Night Stars”, helping to stop the sexual harassment of women. They give rape alarms to women who might need them. The alarms are funded by the Home Office. Night Stars volunteers wear pink tabards emblazoned with the logo of their partner organisation … the Metropolitan police. Yet the three volunteers who were arrested were cuffed for three hours and held for 14 before being released on bail.

New film about Jeremy Corbyn, ‘Oh Jeremy Corbyn: The Big Lie’, will not be shown at July’s Tolpuddle Martyrs event.  Norman Thomas, the maker of the film, on how Labour democracy is dead. Criticism of a hard core Zionist agenda often called anti Semitic. Peter Lazenby Radical films pulled from Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival – A PROGRAMME of radical films planned for the Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival in July has been cancelled because festival organisers would not allow the showing of a film about the persecution of former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. The film, Oh Jeremy Corbyn The Big Lie, has been shown at more than 100 cinemas and other venues in Britain. It was one of a programme of radical films due to be shown at the Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival on the weekend of July 14, 15 and 16. The film’s producer, Norman Thomas, said South West region TUC, which organises the festival, claimed to have received threats of “severe disruption” if the film is screened and has decided it should not be shown. As a result of the decision, organisers of the film screenings have called off the whole programme on principle. Mr Thomas dismissed the threat of disruption as “utter nonsense” and said it was “just an excuse for blatant censorship” by South West TUC. He said: “The film simply provides a view of the Labour Party that the festival organisers don’t want shown. “The film tells a story that the present Labour Party hierarchy wants suppressed at all costs. “I believe TUC South West is guilty of an utterly unfair and unjust act which is a stain on the labour movement.” The film is narrated by Alexei Sayle and has contributions from film-maker Ken Loach who has been expelled from the Labour Party.

Moscow Victory Day – Putin’s speech. Ukraine is a victim of no trust and misunderstanding between The West and Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday at Moscow’s Red Square Victory Day parade that the world was at a “turning point” and claimed a “war” had been unleashed against Russia. He vowed victory and said Russia’s future “rests on” its soldiers fighting in Ukraine. The traditional Soviet-style event celebrating Moscow’s victory over the Nazis took place amid security fears, 15 months into Russia’s Ukraine offensive. In Victory Day Speech, Putin Says Russia’s ‘Future’ Depends on Troops in Ukraine Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a combative speech Tuesday attacking the West and claiming that Russia’s future depended on the outcome of the war in Ukraine as he attended a slimmed-down military parade on Red Square to mark Victory Day. “Civilization again finds itself at a decisive, critical moment. A real war has again been launched against our motherland,” Putin told the assembled soldiers and guests. “We are proud of the participants of the Special Military Operation and everyone fighting on the frontline,” he said, using the Kremlin’s preferred term for Russia’s war in Ukraine. “There is nothing more important now than your military work. Today, the security of our country depends on you. The future of our statehood and our people depends on you.” While the military parade passed off without incident, Russia’s celebrations to mark the 78th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazism have been muted because of heightened security concerns following a drone attack on the Kremlin last week and intense fighting in Ukraine ahead of an imminent counter-offensive by Kyiv’s forces. The Kremlin has traditionally used Victory Day a national holiday for bombastic events that promote patriotic unity and showcase the country’s military might. But military parades have been canceled in over 20 Russian cities this year and not a single Immortal Regiment march held in memory of those killed in World War II and usually attended by millions will take place.

Media has shaped the view against Russia and Putin. The 2014 Maidan Coup orchestrated by the West with dirty tactics. The court case in Kyiv about the Maidan coup. It’s not Russia that’s pushed Ukraine to the brink of war – The attempt to lever Kiev into the western camp by ousting an elected leader made conflict certain. It could be a threat to us all – The threat of war in Ukraine is growing. As the unelected government in Kiev declares itself unable to control the rebellion in the country’s east, John Kerry brands Russia a rogue state. The US and the European Union step up sanctions against the Kremlin, accusing it of destabilising Ukraine. The White House is reported to be set on a new cold war policy with the aim of turning Russia into a “pariah state”. That might be more explicable if what is going on in eastern Ukraine now were not the mirror image of what took place in Kiev a couple of months ago. Then, it was armed protesters in Maidan Square seizing government buildings and demanding a change of government and constitution. US and European leaders championed the “masked militants” and denounced the elected government for its crackdown, just as they now back the unelected government’s use of force against rebels occupying police stations and town halls in cities such as Slavyansk and Donetsk. “America is with you,” Senator John McCain told demonstrators then, standing shoulder to shoulder with the leader of the far-right Svoboda party as the US ambassador haggled with the state department over who would make up the new Ukrainian government. When the Ukrainian president was replaced by a US-selected administration, in an entirely unconstitutional takeover, politicians such as William Hague brazenly misled parliament about the legality of what had taken place: the imposition of a pro-western government on Russia’s most neuralgic and politically divided neighbour.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan released after his arrest last weekend. Pakistan ex-PM Imran Khan returns home after arrest and riots – Defiant Pakistan ex-PM Imran Khan calls for more protests – – Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan on Saturday called for supporters to hold nationwide neighbourhood protests, days after clashes between his followers and security forces triggered by his arrest. – The one-time cricket superstar — who has been tied up in dozens of legal cases since being ousted from power in April last year — was freed on bail on Friday after his detention was declared unlawful by the Supreme Court. Enraged by the arrest, supporters set fire to government buildings, blocked roads and damaged property belonging to the military, which they blame for Khan’s downfall. “Freedom does not come easily. You have to snatch it. You have to sacrifice for it,” he said in an address broadcast on YouTube. He called for his supporters to hold protests “at the end of your streets and villages” across the country on Sunday, and announced a return to campaigning on Wednesday for immediate elections. For months, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader has waged a campaign of defiance against the military. His arrest on Tuesday came just hours after he was rebuked for claiming senior officials were involved in an assassination attempt against him last year. – – –  – -Former prime minister Imran Khan after his court appearance spoke to media where he mentioned that he was taken from court like a ‘terrorist’, and mentioned that he said that he was beaten with sticks in the head. He also distanced from the brutal clashes, saying how can he ordered party workers to hit streets while being in police custody. He however told his followers to protest peacefully and refrain from vandalism.

Russian lady Olya on intermixed Ukrainian and Russian blood, how people with family in Russia and Ukraine see the 2014 Maidan coup and subsequent war. A tragedy! Let’s Talk About (The) War, Stroud Freedom Group discuss the Ukraine War @ Centre for Science & Arts. First, our group uses a variety of names for different actions, enabling us to avoid the old patriarchal politics of ownership and control, and allowing us all the freedom to pursue our initiatives without top-down control. In the spirit of bottom-up responsibility-taking, we therefore ask those joining our movement to create new names for actions or campaigns that they initiate. Moreover, no single-issue, identity- or party-politics is either pushed or brought into our actions. The over-arching motivation underpinning all our actions and work is for the full restoration of liberties, freedoms and rights. Our group does not organise publicly linked actions with other pressure groups or established political parties; this is to avoid shared names and mantras which can obscure and mystify far more than they reveal. In our meetings we try to avoid, and we actively sideline, the old party-political paradigm and associated Machiavellian power-games (one reason why we might not be popular in certain establishment circles, we suspect). We therefore welcome everyone to work with us, regardless of previous political labels, affiliations or work. In all our activities we will always work to maintain free speech, freedom of thought and expression, and to accept that we are a coalition of very different people from every kind of class, and occupational and minority background. We place respect for difference at the heart of our work, and to this end, there is no toleration of bullying, verbal or physical abuse, hate speech or intimidation towards other attendees at meetings or amongst those working with us. With basic human rights and freedoms currently under unprecedented and sustained attack and curtailment, it is essential that citizens actively stand up for and defend those freedoms – and especially when they are being eroded under highly questionable pretexts. To date we have found that a considerable number of local citizens share our concerns – and are actually greatly relieved when they discover that it’s not just them questioning recent developments, and that there are others who retain an open, critically inquiring mind about recent events, rather than unquestioningly believing whatever mainstream narrative we are being fed.

NUJ Conference – how it’s changed recently, electronic voting. May Day left wing march in Bristol organised by Bristol Trades Council. NUJ branch delegates can speak in debates, vote and ask questions. If a motion is passed, it becomes union policy. To prepare for DM, branches hold a special meeting or meetings to discuss arrangements for the conference. The conference also scrutinises the union’s accounts and reviews reports from each sector and body of the union contained within the Report to Delegate Meeting. Order Paper 10 – MOTION 50 – This DM notes that serious concerns have been raised at Branch level about the significant copyright, reputational and ethical damage that the NUJ’s partnership with Google brings, as well as the actual depth of the NEC relationship with this internet giant. This DM instructs the NEC to publicly consult with the membership on the nature and merits of the current relationship and, if necessary, to terminate any existing relationship or contracts with Google. tabling body: London Freelance Branch

VOTER SUPPRESSION UK – Photo ID, part of ‘Zero Trust’ agenda prevents the poor from voting – Local election 2023 results so far – Tory vote collapsing. Strong indications from sources inside government that they do not want to win the 2024 general election, preferring to let the Labour party deal with coming economic crash and potential war with Russia. Need for photo ID stopped poor people voting – Mirror Voters turned away due to new photo ID requirement, Electoral Commission says New photographic ID requirements have “regrettably” left some voters unable to cast their ballots in a set of elections which are expected to be bruising for Rishi Sunak’s Tories. The Electoral Commission said that overall the elections were “well run” but the requirement to carry photo ID posed a challenge and some people were unable to vote as a result, although detailed work will be needed to understand the scale of the problem. Campaigners have reported “countless examples” of would-be voters being turned away from polling stations in the first English elections where photo identification is mandatory. An Electoral Commission spokesman said: “We already know from our research that the ID requirement posed a greater challenge for some groups in society, and that some people were regrettably unable to vote today as a result.

Local election results not enough to give Labour a general election majority, poll guru John Curtice says – Labour would not win enough parliamentary seats to win outright if the local election results were applied at the next general election – Polling expert Sir John Curtice has predicted that Labour would not be able to win a majority in the next general election based on the local election results. He predicted that Labour would win 312 seats if the nation voted the same way it had voted in the local elections, meaning it would be 14 short of an overall majority. This would lead to a hung parliament, and Labour would likely have to form a minority administration or enter into an agreement with other parties under this scenario. The Conservatives would win 226 seats under the projection, the Liberal Democrats 40, and other parties would win 72. “Using these numbers, Labour is nearly there, to [the 326 seats needed for a majority], but not quite. They might have to talk to the Liberal Democrats to stay a minority administration,” Sir John told BBC News. He added that the projection was particularly worrying for the Conservatives, and suggested that Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, “will be out on his ear.” But he cautioned that the projection was not an accurate prediction for the next election and that it illustrated “a world in which people vote in general elections the way they do in local elections”. “We are not putting this up, trying in any way to contradict, or indeed to confirm, Labour’s claim that it is doing well enough based on today’s results that they’ve got a chance of winning the next election,” Sir John added. “In the end, the truth is, we can’t give a definitive answer on that because people don’t vote in general elections the same way they do in local elections.” The House of Commons projection was based on his nationwide projection of each party’s vote share based on the results of the councils which were contested at the local elections. Sir John’s analysis suggested that Labour has a nine-point lead over the Conservatives if the entire UK had voted in the local elections. He predicted that Labour would get 35 per cent of the vote nationwide, while the Conservatives would get 26 per cent and the Liberal Democrats would get 20 per cent. Sir John added that this projected lead is “the largest lead that the Labour Party have recorded on our measure since losing power in 2010”. But he cautioned that the lead was not a total victory for Labour, adding: “Although Labour have met the minimum threshold they set themselves, the party will be disappointed that it has not been any more successful this year than last.” He stated that his analysis was based on the nationwide vote share that each party would have had “if all of Britain had the chance to vote in local elections today – and had behaved in the same way as those who did”. The Labour Party claimed on Friday morning that it is set to win the next general election following the party’s strong showing in the local elections. Shabana Mahmood, Labour’s national campaign co-ordinator, told Sky News: “These results show that we are on course for a majority Labour government. She added that the results have “have been a disaster for Rishi Sunak as voters punish him for the Tories’ failure”. But, speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Sir John said that the local election results seen so far suggested that Labour’s lead in the national polls was “not quite” reflected in vote outcomes. “If you look at Labour’s share of the vote where we’ve got the detailed ward results and compare it with what happened 12 months ago, it’s basically not changed,” he said. But he added that current polls and local election results suggest that “the Labour Party should be the largest party in the next parliament”.

Bristol Mayoral position to be replaced by a Council Leader  – Bristol City Council is moving to a committee model of governance and scrapping the role of mayor The council leader will be chosen by a majority of councillors, directly after the elections next year. The councillor chosen will most likely be the head of whichever political group wins the most seats. They will represent the council politically, for example with the government and the media, as well as guiding the direction of the council’s overall strategy. A report to the working group said: “It’s anticipated that this position will provide political and strategic leadership within the council and with external partners and organisations at the local, national and international level, for example with One City boards, the Local Government Association and Core Cities.” As well as a council leader, there will be a lord mayor who acts as the ceremonial figurehead of Bristol, usually elected by councillors every year. The role, one of ‘significant historical importance’, chairs full council meetings, and attends events on behalf of the council, such as citizenship ceremonies. A deputy lord mayor is also chosen each year. Eight policy committees will be created to cover each part of the council’s work. It’s expected that around nine councillors will sit on each of these committees, with balanced representation of all political parties. The eight chairs of policy committees will likely play a similar role to the current cabinet members. Committee chairs will provide “political direction to officers”, act as a spokesman in the media for issues in the committee’s remit, liaise with key partners, and communicate council policy to residents, according to the report to the working group. They will also be responsible for chairing committee meetings, which will design and scrutinise new policies. While it’s unclear how often the policy committees will meet in public, it’s expected that every week or fortnight all the chairs and the council leader will meet in private with senior officers. This would not be open for members of the public or press to attend. During the working group meeting, Liberal Democrat Councillor Tim Kent said: “I’ll say something very unpopular. There’ll be an informal meeting convened by the leader, with senior officers and chairs of the committees. If we don’t have that operating, the system will just grind down. “All public decisions have to be made in public. But we all know there are 1,000 other decisions and steers and guides. And we have to have that conversation between senior officers and committee chairs. That’s something that I would have thought probably happens at least fortnightly, possibly weekly.

Bristol mayor Marvin Rees adds Yale University to his Linkedin profile – ‘The Brotherhood of Death’ secret society Skull and Bones is based there – Webster Tarpley and Antony Sutton discuss this. The Yale World Fellows Program is the University’s signature global leadership development initiative and a core element of Yale’s ongoing commitment to internationalization. Each year since 2002, the University has welcomed a group of exemplary mid-career professionals from a wide range of fields and countries for the four month leadership program.  Yale’s Secret Exclusive Society Producing America’s Leaders (2002) Skull and Bones (2002): They only accept 15 members each year and the group is so secretive that, when asked, members must leave the room in case they betray any secrets. George Bush and his father were members. This short charts the history of secret Yale society ‘Skull and Bones’, which grants members lifelong access to power and privilege. Like other secret societies, ‘Skull and Bones’ has spawned many rumours about its arcane rituals and concern about the veiled access to power it offers. “Skull and Bones is a Free-masonic association. You could call it a death cult,” says commentator W. Tarpley. The society meets in the ‘tomb’, a crypt-like building where skeletons are kept. Novices have bags placed over their heads, and have to swear an oath of secrecy. Founded in the 1830’s, the elite institution has been the springboard for Presidents, tycoons and CIA men alike. Members have included the most powerful American families: the Tafts, Harrimans and Rockefellers.

Banking – interest rates put up to bring inflation down – but does this work?  Peter Schiff, investor, on how the banking system is unravelling, inflation will make money worth less, and how the West will have to go back to the Gold Standard.  Fiat money and petro-dollar system.  BRICS the new empire?  Biden puts sanctions on Sudan. Peter Schiff: A Death Blow Is Coming for the Dollar and People Will Run to Gold – There has been a lot of talk lately about de-dollarization. As just one example, the BRICS nations recently announced they are developing a new currency. Peter Schiff recently appeared on Commodity Culture with Jessie Day to talk about the trajectory of the dollar. He said that the death blow for the dollar is coming. And when it does, people will run to gold. There has been plenty of speculation about de-dollarization recently, but is it a real threat, or is all of the talk just hyperbole? Peter said, “None of it is hyperbole, and all of it will come to pass.” The only thing that’s surprising about the dollar’s reserve status is that it still has it. Despite everything we’ve done, we still have it.” Peter said he thinks the current financial crisis that is just starting will ultimately deliver the death blow to that status. People are still reluctant to call it a financial crisis, but that’s exactly what it is, except it’s bigger in scale and it’s going to be far more impactful than the 2008 crisis. It’s probably going to result in even more aggressive and reckless monetary and fiscal policy. And this time, it’s going to take the dollar’s reserve status down with it.” Peter said that will send Americans’ standard of living much lower. Jessie asked Peter if he thought there is a risk of hyperinflation in the US. Peter said there is always that risk in any country that issues a fiat currency, and that risk is higher now than it’s ever been. But even if the US avoids hyperinflation such as people experienced in Zimbabwe, Peter said he thinks Americans will face very high rates of inflation for many years to come.

Shell and BP annual profits now nearly £50 BILLION as wholesale energy prices plummet – PMQs more housing needed, the King’s Coronation, and elections.  Rumours Tories don’t want to win the next election, as financial system implodes.  Peter Hitchens on BBC Question Time – strikes pushed by rising cost of living crisis.  Profits increasing for energy firms. Shell accused of ‘profiteering bonanza’ after record first-quarter profits of $9.6bn Figure easily beats predictions and comes despite fall in oil and gas price Shell has been accused of a “profiteering bonanza” after it made record first-quarter profits of more than $9.6bn (£7.6bn) and showered shareholders with more than $6bn, even as oil and gas prices tumbled from last year’s highs. The better than expected profits in the first three months of this year were well above the $7.96bn predicted by industry analysts, and topped Shell’s previous first-quarter record set last year at $9.1bn for the same period. Europe’s biggest oil and gas company handed shareholders $2bn in dividend payments and bought back shares worth $4.3bn over the last quarter, and plans to offer its investors another $4bn in share buybacks over the next three months. The FTSE 100 company said profits increased despite higher taxes and lower sums paid on the market for the oil and gas it produces, thanks in part to its energy trading teams managing to mitigate against falling prices. Global oil prices averaged $81.7 a barrel in the first quarter of this year, according to Shell, down from $102.2 a barrel in the same period a year earlier, when Russia’s invasion of Ukraine ignited a surge in oil and gas markets.

Dr. Geoffery Hinton leaves Google and warns of dangers of AI ‘Godfather of AI’ Dr Geoffrey Hinton Quits Google to Speak Out Against Dangers of Artificial Intelligence: Report – Geoffrey Hinton told The New York Times that advancements in AI posed “profound risks to society and humanity”. AI “takes away the drudge work” but “might take away more than that”, he told the Times. The scientist also warned about the potential spread of misinformation created by AI, telling the Times that the average person will “not be able to know what is true anymore.” Hinton notified Google of his resignation last month, the Times reported. Jeff Dean, lead scientist for Google AI, thanked Hinton in a statement to US media. “As one of the first companies to publish AI Principles, we remain committed to a responsible approach to AI,” the statement added. “We’re continually learning to understand emerging risks while also innovating boldly.” In March, tech billionaire Elon Musk and a range of experts called for a pause in the development of AI systems to allow time to make sure they are safe. An open letter, signed by more than 1,000 people including Musk and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, was prompted by the release of GPT-4, a much more powerful version of the technology used by ChatGPT.

AI Red Speed Sentio cameras detecting crimes of motorists – Privacy fears over new AI speed camera which uses 4D scanning to spy on drivers inside their cars – and can even detect motorists on mobiles or without seat belts ‘Redspeed Sentio’ camera can catch motorists breaking the law inside car Ten-inch camera can detect whether too many people are inside a vehicle Privacy campaigners have raised warnings over Big Brother-style ‘AI’ speed cameras which use a 4D scanning system to watch drivers inside their cars. A new ‘Redspeed Sentio’ unit made by Kidderminster-based Redspeed International can also catch motorists using their mobile phone or not wearing a seatbelt. The ten-inch camera can detect whether too many people are inside a vehicle, as well as spotting those who are speeding or going through a red light. The device has not yet got Home Office approval – and Transport for London denied reports in The Sun today that it was already being trialled on the A23 in Lambeth. The camera can also be linked to databases from police forces and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency to check vehicles are properly taxed and insured.

London ULEZ is not the London Mayor’s plan, it’s a Nazi Siemens plan. Siemens has taken over all UK electronics firms and during WWII it was a Nazified company so now part of Martin Bormann’s Fourth Reich? – London Mayor copied and pasted a Siemens document about installing a surveillance system of road pricing – Reminder: Siemens were/are a Nazi fourth Reich company. The electronics they developed and deployed eighty years ago killed many thousands of our grandparents and great grandparents generation. Here they are leading the development of ULEZ. This is Siemens’ scheme. An EU legacy project they’ve had to get in post Brexit to set the precedent for other UK cities and ultimately general road tolls as explained here. Not sure if it’s all pasted in correctly below but absolutely clear what this bunch of Fourth Reich people farmers are up to… 4.11 – At Siemens Mobility, we believe that for the public to back road pricing, they must be aware of where their road user charging fee is being spent or reallocated and will be more receptive if the fee is going back into the local transportation sector or economy. Similar to the way in which a CAZ improves local air quality, road pricing must directly benefit them also. Many of our urban areas are heavily populated with additional land scarce to introduce new roads or infrastructure to help ease congestion. The government must look at a range of strategies to use the pavement that exists today in a more intelligent way. With road space scarce and the public now expected to pay for that road space, the consumer will start to weigh up the value of their trip and chosen transportation method. For example, if a parent is driving their child to a local school, they should expect to pay a smaller fee than someone driving into the city centre for work. They may also consider alternative transportation options such as bus, cycling, walking or rail. To support this potential shift to alternative methods of transport, creating an inclusive and integrated mobility system for towns, cities and rural areas is of key importance, with a focus on the first and last mile of consumer journeys and ensuring these transportation methods are invested in and able to cope with new demand.

Cuts to money for local government forcing them to use other methods to get funds.  Palantir develops AI to detect military targets – Times Boxing Day.  Peter Hitchins on BBC QT – AI and the internet – control and fake news. Ukraine is using Palantir’s software for ‘targeting,’ CEO says – Data analytics company Palantir (PLTR.N) is “responsible for most of the targeting in Ukraine,” Chief Executive Alex Karp said Wednesday, elaborating on the U.S. company’s work with Kyiv since Russia’s invasion last year. Its software helps Ukraine target, for instance, tanks and artillery, a Palantir spokesperson said. The remarks are some of Karp’s most direct yet on how Palantir, which got its start two decades ago supporting U.S. intelligence services, is aiding Ukraine’s war effort. Karp was the first head of a global business to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy following Russia’s February 2022 invasion of the country. The company, whose co-founders include Karp and investor Peter Thiel, has opened an office in Ukraine. Last month, at an event Palantir hosted in Davos, Switzerland, Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said technology allowed real-time tracking of the war’s developments. Ukraine has compiled information on enemy troop movements in a situational awareness system such as Palantir’s, based on which its military decides a course of action, Fedorov said. Palantir has marketed its software as a way to quickly determine resources to deploy, taking in feeds from satellites and social media to visualize an army’s positions, or making expansive data files easier to query. Asked about artificial intelligence (AI) that can generate content on its own, technology that has been the talk of Silicon Valley, Karp said that ethics needed to be considered before deploying software that could take independent action. “There are huge ethical issues on the battlefield,” he said at an event Palantir hosted in Palo Alto. “If you use an algorithm to generate a military decision and it goes wrong, who’s responsible?” Palantir recently signed a 75 million pound ($91.4 million) deal with Britain’s Ministry of Defence. It also sells technology to other government agencies and enterprises. The company is expanding its work with Japan’s Sompo Holdings Inc (8630.T) through a five-year, $50-million deal announced Wednesday, which will help the insurer and care provider address social issues like aging, its top digital officer Albert Chu told Reuters. Advertisement · Scroll to continue Japan is a “very high priority” market for Palantir including in defense, another Palantir official, Kevin Kawasaki, said in an interview.

No wild food if economy crashes? 30,000 badgers culled in UK last year, 210,000 throughout UK, half Wiltshire’s badger population wiped out! Thousands of ‘protected’ badgers slaughtered across Wiltshire in 2022 – Badger cull Wiltshire: Shocking figures reveal true death toll – NEW figures have revealed that more than 2,983 badgers were slaughtered across Wiltshire in 2022. Across England, the death toll reached more than 30,000 badgers. Badgers are a protected species and so the ongoing cull where animals are trapped and shot with the aim of controlling bovine tuberculosis (bTB) in cattle is divisive. Salisbury Journal: Image Photo AgencyImage Photo Agency (Image: Photo agency) Executive director of the Badger Trust, Peter Hambly said: “Badger setts across England are lying empty for the first time in history. One of our most iconic native wild animals is being wiped from parts of our natural landscape because of the badger cull. “In just a decade, half of our population of badgers has been killed.” “We know killing badgers isn’t the way to control bovine tuberculosis. Scientific research repeatedly proves that badger culling doesn’t work. The governments in Wales and Scotland don’t cull badgers with better results in reducing bovine tuberculosis.” According to data on the British Veterinary Association website, analysis based on Defra published data does not suggest that badger culling affected herd bovine TB occurrence (Btb) and in 9 out of 10 counties, bTB peaked and began to fall before badger culling commenced. Peter added: “So why won’t Defra end the badger cull and concentrate on more effective disease-control methods that will make a lasting difference to English farmers – enhanced biosecurity such as restricting cattle movements, more effective cattle testing, and cattle vaccination?” Badgers play an important role as ecosystem engineers, where they dig and forage which rejuvenates the soil and provides shelter and nesting sites for birds, small mammals, and pollinating insects. A spokesperson for the Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs (Defra) said: “Bovine TB is one of the most difficult and intractable animal health challenges the livestock sector in England faces today, causing considerable trauma for farmers and costing taxpayers over £100 million every year. “Our bovine TB eradication strategy has led to a significant reduction in this insidious disease. As a result of the progress made, we are now able to move onto the next phase of the long-term eradication strategy, including wider badger vaccination, alongside improved cattle testing, and work towards deployment of a cattle vaccine. “We have always been clear we do not want to continue the badger cull longer than necessary.” Salisbury MP John Glen said: “I recognise that people within this rural constituency hold a wide range of views on the necessity and efficacy of badger culling. “The Government is on a path to eradicate bovine TB in England by 2038. This strategy sets out a range of evidence-led interventions to tackle the disease in both cattle and wildlife, including strengthening cattle testing and movement controls and supporting the deployment of badger vaccination. “Intensive badger culling in areas where badgers are a significant factor in spreading disease to cattle has been an important element and has led to a significant reduction of bTB in cattle herds. “Alongside this, the Government continues to fund major research, including on cattle vaccination and improved diagnostics. “That funding has already resulted in a major breakthrough by the Animal and Plant Health Agency in developing a test that can differentiate TB-infected among vaccinated cattle. The aim is to have a deployable TB vaccine for cattle within the next five years.” To mark the 210,000-badger death milestone since the culling began, the Badger Trust has launched an investigative study into the contemporary history of the Badger culling policing. The report is expected to be published in Autumn 2023 with the aim of providing evidence that bTB can be controlled effectively without culling protected wildlife.

Nitrogen tax for farmers in Holland – forcing them to sell up  – EU approves controversial Dutch private equity farm buy-out plan to ‘cut nitrogen emissions’ – EU approves controversial Dutch farm buy-out plan to ‘meet climate goals’ – Farmers have protested against the government scheme that will offer them 120 per cent of the value of their company if they agree to close The Netherlands has been given the go-ahead to start buying out thousands of farmers businesses in a bid to meet the European Union mandate on climate goals. Under the 1.47 billion (1.3 billion) plan, entire farms located near nature reserves could be purchased by the government, with hundreds more farmers compensated for voluntarily closing their operations. It forms part of the Hagues wider strategy for slashing nitrogen emissions in half by 2030 to comply with EU targets. On Tuesday, the European Commission approved the Dutch governments proposals under the blocs state aid rules. Brussels ruled that the buy-outs would not give farmers who receive them an unfair leg-up against international competitors on the Single Market and thus violate EU regulations. Justifying the move earlier this year, Christianne van der Wal, minister of nature and nitrogen policy, said that the Netherlands had to cut nitrogen emissions from farms to build new housing and produce green energy. There will first have to be nitrogen cuts before there is room for new development such as new houses and sustainable energy investments. It is our economic lockdown, she said. My message is not the message [farmers] want to hear. She has previously described the scheme as wildly attractive. Farmers operating near nature conservation areas will be offered 120 per cent of the value of their company if they agree to close their operations and promise not to restart elsewhere in the country or within the EU. About 3,000 farmers who are considered among the countrys highest polluting have been identified under the scheme. Dairy, pig and poultry farmers will be offered 100 per cent of their company’s value if they agree to close under a similar programme. Protests from farmers – Dutch farmers have been on a collision course with the government for more than a year, while it grappled with the consequences of forcing its lucrative agricultural industry to cut emissions. Protests against the climate-change targets have often turned violent, with manure and blazing hay bales used to block highways and supermarket distribution centres, leading to empty shelves on numerous occasions. In March, Mark Rutte, the long-serving prime minister, received a major defeat in the regional elections as a farmers protest party scored a victory. At risk of being undercut – Despite its small size, The Netherlands is one of the worlds agricultural powerhouses, being only second to the United States as a food producer and agricultural exporter. Its farmers have argued that the new climate change rules placed them at risk of being undercut by cheap foreign imports. They also complained that agriculture was being unfairly targeted compared with other polluting sectors such as transport. The Dutch government has earmarked 25 billion (22 billion) to tackle nitrogen emissions, including compulsory buyouts and payments for reducing livestock numbers. The courts have blocked an increasing number of construction projects designed to ease the countrys housing crisis until nitrogen levels have been reduced. Improve the environment – Brussels decided the Dutch plan did not amount to a breach of the blocs state aid rules, which have been significantly loosened as a result of the interventions made by European governments during the coronavirus pandemic. Margrethe Vestager, a vice-president of the European Commission, said the plan would lead to the voluntary closure of those farms most responsible for nitrogen emissions. The schemes will improve the environment conditions in those areas, and will promote a more sustainable and environmentally friendly production in the livestock sector, without unduly distorting competition, she said. The EUs approval of the scheme, which runs until February 2028, will last as long as Dutch farmers agree to a definitive closure of their operations. The exact conditions for the buyout scheme will be published by the end of the month, with the government also exploring targeting other industries amid uproar from farmers.

Charles’s Coronation tomorrow.  Neil Oliver on how everything has changed since Covid pandemic, and King Charles supports Net Zero policy while millions suffer from cost of living crisis. Charles III, the Net Zero King is a Net NegativeUnlike his predecessor, the English king is a political vector and a liability. The silver lining is his innate ability to self-sabotage. Elizabeth II’s legacy was characterized by sobriety and discretion. Even on Brexit, the hottest issue of her last decade, her stance remained unknown. Her silence left us better informed. After seventy years of royal duty, Charles III, the geriatric rookie monarch, emerges as a political vector and a liability. His eagerness to please those who can affect his rank and his weakness for Saudi money cast a shadow over the monarchy. Elizabeth II’s reign added value to a declining monarchy, whereas Charles III threatens to dilute a somewhat stabilized monarchy, precariously balanced between public complacency and the incompetence of the two major parties.

Who was Alice Keppel? Camilla’s Ancestor was Mistress to King Edward VII – Yes, Prince Charles’s great-great grandfather and Camilla’s great-great grandmother were an item. Alice Keppel was the toast of Edwardian society. Alice Frederica Edmonstone, who went by the nickname Freddie (or even, “flirtatious Freddie”) was born into a high-ranking family in 1868: her father was a Baronet and an admiral in the Royal Navy. She grew up in Duntreath Castle in Scotland and married Lieutenant-Colonel George Keppel, a British Royal officer, at 23. She was a renowned beauty with chestnut hair, a pale complexion, large blue eyes, a small waist, and a large chestall features that were greatly coveted in “the naughties nineties.” Alice was also known for being an exceptionally kind person, even to her enemies. “She was luminous, resplendent… She not only had a gift of happiness, but she excelled in making others happy. She resembled a Christmas tree laden with presents for everyone,” her daughter Violet said. When Alice and George moved to London, they were part of the city’s top social circles and Alice began having affairs in order to move up the social ladder. The money and connections allowed her to thrive as a society hostess, which is how she met Prince Albert Edward in 1898 when he was 56 and she was 29. They stayed together for twelve years, through his coronation as King Edward VII until his death in 1910.

Jonathan Dimbleby interviews Prince Charles after the break up of his marriage to Diana in July 1994. His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales talking about his children, Princes William and Harry (0:00); the intrusion of prying photographers and tabloid media (2:33); and the collapse of his marriage to Princess Diana (4:18). Prince Charles recorded a second version of his 1994 interview after being convinced to admit to adultery in his marriage with Diana, Princess of Wales – a move that pushed her to do her own interview with Panorama a year later. In a new documentary exploring the origins of Diana’s dramatic Panorama interview, it was revealed that Charles did not initially intend to confess to his affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles. But he was later convinced that he should do so, as it would come out in a “sympathetic” way. Charles, now 71, confessed to infidelity in an interview with his biographer Jonathan Dimbleby, saying he only strayed when the marriage had “broken down irrevocably”. Speaking to Channel 4, Sir Max Hastings, former editor of the Daily Telegraph, said: “Somebody convinced him, ‘Look sir, this is going to come out sooner or later, wouldn’t it be better if it comes out in a sympathetic form, in sympathetic hands.’

Martin Bashir from BBC Panorama interviews Princess Diana (1995) – will Charles make a good King, and will she ever be Queen? Panorama commissioned the Bashir programme originally as an expose of how Prince Charles had been abusing the secret services, MI5 and GCHQ to spy on Princess Diana throughout the divorce proceedings Considering the investigation a legitimate matter of public interest That proved legally and politically difficult so Bashir decided to cut to the chase A blockbuster interview with Diana herself which, since her assassination, Charles has done everything he can to suppress Not only arranging for his wife to be murdered – see John Morgan’s book – How They Murdered Princess Diana – but then destroying everybody who helped her. Martin Bashir has been character assassinated by the London media – which Charles and the City of London control rincess Diana’s bombshell Panorama interview is set to feature in a new Channel 4 documentary which will be ‘uncomfortable viewing for the royal family’, according to a TV insider. In the explosive interview, which was watched by 21 million people when it aired in 1995 , the late Princess talked candidly about her and her husband’s extra-marital affairs, and questioned Prince Charles’s suitability to be King. Now the interview will be re-broadcast this autumn, with a TV insider telling The Sun: ‘The show will make for particularly uncomfortable viewing for the royals and couldn’t have come at a more difficult time for them.’ The royal family has weathered several controversies over the last year, with Prince Andrew facing scrutiny over his part in the Epstein scandal, and Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 38, stepping back from royal duty and moving to Los Angeles. A new Channel 4 documentary is set to air Princess Diana’s bombshell Panorama interview, with TV insiders saying it will be ‘uncomfortable viewing’ for the royal family The four-part programme will be screened this autumn and is set to delve into several problems that have beset the family. The impact of the infamous interview will be explored in detail, with the insider adding it would look at ‘years leading up to the interview’ as well as ‘the aftermath.’ The airing of the documentary will be timed to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the Panorama programme airing, which continues to be one of the most watched shows in BBC’s history. Charles and Diana separated in 1992 after an 11-year marriage and the warring Waleses set up separate households, which often briefed journalists against each other.

Prince Charles’s friendships with child abusers – such as Jimmy Saville. BBC covered up Jimmy Savile’s child abuse because he was friends with Prince Charles, claims veteran broadcaster Bill Oddie October 25, 2012 – The Prince of Wales and Sir Jimmy Savile in Glencoe in July 1999 – Veteran BBC presenter Bill Oddie has backed claims disgraced Jimmy Savile’s abuse was covered up – because he was friends with Prince Charles. The Springwatch star, who appeared on TOTP with the Goodies when Savile presented it during the 1970s, said there was a “running sick joke” at the BBC about Savile being a paedophile. He suggested there might have been some sort of “censorship committee” preventing the truth being released because of Savile’s royal connections. The presenter also backed claims made by other former BBC presenters that Savile’s antics were well known at the time. He said: “The idea that youngsters were prey – everybody knew that. “I was not surprised at all. And the surprise is in a sense that that didn’t happen years ago. “The establishment or who ever it is decided to keep it all quiet and decided to give him a knighthood. He was, to a certain amount, a friend of royalty.” He added: “I do not know why it took so long to come to light. That is what I am curious about. “Whether there is somewhere in Britain, some sort of censorship committee that we don’t know about that suppresses these thing and somebody gets together in a room and says ‘come on he was a friend of Prince Charles, it would look awfully bad on Prince Charles if we said he was a bit of a perv’. “And someone decides ‘yes you are right, we will keep it quiet, nobody will ever find out.’ “I don’t know who that would be.” Speaking after a question and answer session with students of Cambridge University’s historic debating society – The Union Society – on Tuesday, Oddie said Savile’s reputation was “just taken for granted.” He said: “There was just this running sick joke that Jimmy Savile pestered the young youths of both sexes. “It was just taken for granted. It doesn’t mean anyone thought they must do something about it – and it probably wasn’t realised how serious it was – it certainly wasn’t realised to the extent of the hospital – which is horrendous. “When this came out it was not a surprise at all….

…The surprise is that it did not come out a lot earlier and the puzzlement is or the question is was it covered up or did people just chose to ignore it or was there an order and if so from whom, by whom and with whom saying we are not going to allow this to get published. “It does make you think who would you look at. Would you look at the BBC, the police, would you look at the NHS hospital people? Did they all know and didn’t say?” Oddie revealed there was a “naive groupies scene” at the time. He said: “This is not a mitigating circumstance obviously, but the only thing I will say is that that was a time in history in television and radio and live shows where there was a sort of naive groupies scene. “I do not think the girls were incredibly promiscuous, certainly not the younger ones. “There were people who hung around after gigs and tried to get to the stars – or the disk jockeys. “You haven’t half got a booby prize if you went for Cliff Richard and ended up with Jimmy Savile.” He added: “The thing that you could not ignore was that it was the era of the sort of groupies. “Not the heavy groupy, but it was an extension of those shots of the Beatles in the 60s where there is hundreds of girls crying and screaming and god knows what – well that was pretty rife. “My wife was saying the other day about a friend of hers from way back when they went to see the Monkeys and the girl said ‘I am going to try and get in the dressing room’ and my wife said ‘he will only want one thing you know’ and she said ‘yes, I know. that is what I am going for’. “But that is not quite the same thing as a paedophile – that was just rock bands and includes other people I am sure and is due to availability and other things. The 70s was like that.” Oddie, who started on BBC radio with his show I’m Sorry I’ll Read That Again, reiterated claims that former director general of the BBC Mark Thompson must have known what was going on with Savile. He said: “It is so extraordinary that there is any sort of mystery – when the ex head of the BBC Mark Thompson the other day said ‘I don’t know anything about it’. “You worked at the BBC and you don’t know anything about it – don’t be ridiculous. “That is absolute nonsense.” Oddie claimed Savile “bribed his way out” of getting found out for molesting children in hospital because he was a large donor. He said: “Anyone of that era knew something – he had a reputation for being a groper. “The most awful aspect is the idea of molesting kids in hospital – that is just unbelievable. He was sort of bribing his way out of it by giving millions of pounds to the hospital – that is staggering.” As well as Savile’s contact with children at the BBC, his interaction with sick youngsters at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, in Sussex, and Leeds General Infirmary, is also being investigated.

Monty Python’s ‘The Holy Grail’ – King Arthur meets anarcho-syndicalist. King Arthur: Old woman! Dennis: Man. King Arthur: Man, sorry. What knight lives in that castle over there? Dennis: I’m 37. King Arthur: What? Dennis: I’m 37. I’m not old. King Arthur: Well I can’t just call you “man”. Dennis: Well you could say “Dennis”. King Arthur: I didn’t know you were called Dennis. Dennis: Well you didn’t bother to find out, did you? King Arthur: I did say sorry about the “old woman”, but from behind you looked… Dennis: What I object to is you automatically treat me like an inferior. King Arthur: Well, I am king. Dennis: Oh, king eh? Very nice. And how’d you get that, eh? By exploiting the workers. By hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society. If there’s ever gonna be any progress… Peasant Woman: Dennis! There’s some lovely filth down here… Oh! How do you do? [Dennis joins the Peasant Woman in the nearby filth patch] King Arthur: How do you do, good lady? I am Arthur, king of the Britons. Whose castle is that? Peasant Woman: King of the who? King Arthur: The Britons. Peasant Woman: Who’re the “Britons”? King Arthur: Well, we all are. We’re all Britons, and I am your king. Peasant Woman: Didn’t know we had a king. I thought we were an autonomous collective. Dennis: You’re fooling yourself. We’re living in a dictatorship! A self-perpetuating autocracy, in which the working classes… Peasant Woman: Oh, there you go, bringing class into it again. Dennis: Well, that’s what it’s all about! If only people would– King Arthur: Please, please, good people, I am in haste. Who lives in that castle? Peasant Woman: No one lives there. King Arthur: Then who is your lord? Peasant Woman: We don’t have a lord. King Arthur: What? Dennis: I told you, we’re an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in turns to act as sort of executive officer for the week… King Arthur: Yes… Dennis: …but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting… King Arthur: Yes I see… Dennis: …by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs… King Arthur: Be quiet! Dennis: …but by a two thirds majority in the case of more… King Arthur: Be quiet! I order you to be quiet! Peasant Woman: “Order”, eh? Who does he think he is? King Arthur: I am your king. Peasant Woman: Well, I didn’t vote for you. King Arthur: You don’t vote for kings. Peasant Woman: Well, how’d you become king, then? [An angelic choir begins…] King Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. [singing stops] That is why I am your king. Dennis: Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. Arthur: Be quiet! Dennis: You can’t expect to wield supreme executive power just ’cause some watery tart threw a sword at you! Arthur: Shut up! Dennis: I mean, if I went around saying I was an emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they’d put me away! Arthur: [grabs Dennis] Shut up! Will you shut up?! Dennis: Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system! Arthur: [shakes Dennis] Shut up! Dennis: Oh! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help, help, I’m being repressed! Arthur: Bloody Peasant! Dennis: Ooh, what a giveaway! Did you hear that? Did you hear that, eh? That’s what I’m on about! Did you see him repressing me? You saw it, didn’t you?

Part Two – Ukraine/Covid/Climate Accelerationism Round-Up, With End Times Prophecy Reports

Drone targets Kremlin.  Freedom of speech lessening.  Russia Says the US Was Behind Drone Attack on the Kremlin – likely fired from nearby – The US has denied any involvement – Russia on Thursday said the US was behind the drone attack that targeted the Kremlin, which Moscow said was an attempt on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s life. “We know very well that the decisions to carry out such actions, such terrorist attacks, are made not in Kiev. Rather, it is precisely in Washington,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. He added that “often even the targets themselves are not determined by Kiev, but by Washington.” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova made similar comments. “First and foremost, the creators and handlers of the Kiev regime, who hail from Washington, London and NATO, bear overall responsibility for everything that it [Ukraine] is perpetrating,” she wrote on Telegram. The comments drew a denial of involvement in the drone attack from the White House. “I can assure you that there was no involvement by the United States in this. Whatever it was did not involve us,” said National Security Council spokesman John Kirby. “We had nothing to do with this.” The comments from Moscow suggest Russia is considering a major escalation of the war. Peskov said Russia was considering a “wide variety” of responses to the drone attack. “Naturally, I cannot provide you any details here. In any case the issue may only be about well-thought-out steps that meet the interests of our country,” he told reporters. Ukrainian officials have also denied involvement in the drone attack, which targeted the Kremlin early Wednesday morning, but Ukrainian attacks inside Russia have stepped up in recent months. Pentagon documents allegedly leaked by Jack Teixeira show that the US was concerned about Ukraine planning attacks in Moscow and that Zelensky might not have control over his intelligence services. One leak showed that Ukraine’s security service, the SBU, determined its agents violated orders by attacking a Russian surveillance plane in Belarus. Another leak revealed that Ukraine postponed planned attacks in Moscow that would have coincided with the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion.

Israel kills three Palestinians in retaliation for deaths of Israelis.  Lavrov at UN – Palestinian/Israel issue.  US Boycotts against Israel being made illegal.  Putin asked if he wanted to kill Zelensky.  Lavrov at UN – Russia vetoing and Israel not complying with resolutions.  Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks at the UNSC open debate on the Situation in the Middle East, Including the Palestinian Question – Distinguished colleagues, Ladies and gentlemen, The Middle East is currently going through a profound transformation that is unfolding in a way that is rather contradictory. Improvement of relations between the states in the region, stabilisation in the conflict zones and greater efforts to achieve their political and diplomatic settlement based on the principles of the United Nations Charter is what we need today more than ever before…… The fact that UN Security Council resolutions are not being implemented – not only those on the Middle East settlement – deserves particular attention, and here is why. A short time ago the United States and its allies spared no effort to make sure that each time a veto was applied on any issue in the Security Council, this issue is then presented for consideration at the UN General Assembly. We did not object, even though this initiative was explicitly spearheaded against Russia. We have nothing to hide: when we apply the veto right, we always clearly explain our motives. Nor do we shy away from repeating our arguments at the General Assembly. But here is the thing. The power of veto is an inherent right and an integral element of the mechanisms enshrined in the UN Charter. Making use of this right does not represent a violation. However, failure to implement the resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council is a violation of the Charter. Specifically, Article 25 of the Charter, which states that all parties must implement the decisions of the Security Council. Perhaps the time has come for those who derail their implementation to explain themselves to the General Assembly? Such resolutions sabotaged by the West include decisions on Palestine, Golan Heights, West Sahara, Kosovo settlement, Iranian nuclear programme and, of course, the Minsk agreements on Ukraine, which we covered in detail yesterday.

Tim Cohen, author of ‘The Anti Christ and a Cup of Tea’, on his nefarious historical ‘facts’, and view about King Charles being the Anti Christ. In The Antichrist and a Cup of Tea, Tim Cohen provides biblical evidence to demonstrate that all of the prophecies pertaining to the coming AntiChrist — that can be fulfilled before he assumes control over a global government during the Great Tribulation are already fulfilled in a living prince of Roman lineage; this is true of no one else. This prince, for example, has the lineage: he claims descent simultaneously from Israel’s King David, Islam’s false prophet Mohammed, and, by a false occult lineage, Jesus Christ Himself! This prince has the imagery: his personal heraldic achievement or coat of arms has the symbolism of the first beast of Revelation 13, representing the AntiChrist, and of Daniel 7 (i.e., the little horn having eyes like those of a man — a unicorn with human eyes). This prince’s coat of arms also bears the red dragon described in Revelation 12 and 13, specifically representing Satan, and he was seen globally as he faced this dragon in 1969 to be coronated as “Prince of the Red Dragon” (i.e., Satan). This prince has the name calculation: his title, by which he is globally known, calculates to 666 in both Hebrew and English on the original biblical numbering system — the very system used in the underlying Greek text of Revelation 13:18 to specify six-hundred and sixty-six. This prince has the involvement in the Mideast peace process. In fact, the current Road Map, as well as the Oslo process from which it derives, and the Madrid Peace talks from which the Oslo process itself derived, are directly traceable to the London Agreement of 1987, which in turn is traceable to…THIS PRINCE. Also, this prince has the global authority…. That’s right — he is not the ignored wimp that the masses have been misled to believe; rather, he is mankind’s number one globalist, and has been for decades. Indeed, this prince is over the entire New World Order power structure—through the world’s most prominent and oldest order of chivalry: the Order of the Garter. This order is very much more than merely a revival of King Arthur’s legendary round table. And to top it all off, this prince HAS THE IMAGERY OF WHAT IS TO BE THE FUTURE ABOMINATION THAT CAUSES DESOLATION! What is that? In March 2002, while trekking through Brazilian rain forests, this prince was presented with a miniature version of a statue depicting himself as an angelic figure with large wings standing atop a mass of human bodies looking up to him (this prince) as savior! In fact, the inscription on the statue’s base reads “Saviour of the World”!!! And it has this prince’s face…with wings! So what did this prince say when Brazilian officials asked his permission to create a ten cubits high (12 or 15 feet) version of this statue, and to place it in a square named after him in their capital city? Instead of calling it blasphemy to identify him as “Saviour of the World”, this prince remarked, “I am touched and deeply amazed,” and then, with the small ego he has, this prince gladly gave permission to create the larger version! Now, bear in mind that the arrival of this statue was years after the 1998 publication of the first edition of The AntiChrist and a Cup of Tea (ISBN 0-9662793-0-1), and there is no other man or woman who is being called “Saviour of the World” other than this prince whom Tim Cohen decades ago identified as the foretold Antichrist — according to a true understanding of the prophetic scriptures. Coincidence?

King Charles and Queen Camilla: A timeline of their 50-year relationship

The story of the couple as they begin a new chapter as Britain’s King and Queen Consort
Natasha Preskey Maanya Sachdeva 05 May 2023 Independent  King Charles III is Britain’s new monarch, following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on 8 September 2022.
Charles’ wife, Camilla, was subsequently named Queen Consort as the couple began a new chapter in a relationship that has spanned more than 50 years. Having first met in 1970, Charles and Camilla were married 18 years ago at Windsor Guildhall in a low-key ceremony. For most royal fans, the couple’s journey will always be intrinsically linked to the story of Charles and his ex-wife Lady Diana Spencer, the Princess of Wales. Over the years, the public, and other members of the royal family, became more accepting of the match. Yet for decades the couple were pursued by gossip and scandal following Charles’s fraught marriage to Diana.

Here, we detail Charles and Camilla’s complicated love story.
1970 – Charles and Camilla meet for the first time A 22-year-old Charles met Camilla Shand, 24, the daughter of a British Army officer, at a polo match at Windsor Great Park. In 1992, People magazine reported that, when the pair met for the first time, Camilla said to Charles: “My great-grandmother was the mistress of your great-great-grandfather. I feel we have something in common.” The couple subsequently began dating.
February 1973 – Charles goes away to the Caribbean and Camilla gets engaged to someone else After meeting Camilla, Charles joined the Royal Navy. He was assigned to frigate HMS Minerva in November 1972 and, in February 1973, the ship was posted to the Caribbean, not to return until November that year. While Charles was away, Camilla announced her engagement to Andrew Parker Bowles, then a lieutenant, whom she met in the late 1960s. The Prince of Wales was reportedly heartbroken by the news, which Camilla shared with him herself in a letter. In his book about Camilla, The Duchess: The Untold Story, royal author Penny Junor wrote: “She wrote to Charles herself to tell him. It broke his heart.”
July 1973 – Camilla gets married Camilla married Parker-Bowles at the Guards Chapel in London on 4 July, followed by a reception at St James’s Palace. The ceremony was attended by The Queen Mother, Princess Margaret and Princess Anne, who Andrew Parker Bowles was rumoured to also previously have had a relationship with.
July 1980 – Charles starts dating Lady Diana Spencer Charles and Diana initially met in 1977 when Diana was just 16 and Charles was 29 (and dating her older sister). Diana and the Prince of Wales grew close a few years later when Diana went to stay with a mutual friend, Philip de Pass, at his family home in Sussex for a weekend. While there, Diana spoke to Charles about the assassination of his great uncle, Lord Mountbatten, with whom he had been very close. “The next minute, he leapt on me, practically,” she claimed in the tapes that were released in Diana: In Her Own Words. “But then it sort of built up from there,” she added of their courtship.
1981 – Charles and Diana announce their engagement Charles and Diana announced their engagement on 24 February. However, all already didn’t seem well between the pair. In Diana: In Her Own Words, the Princess of Wales recalled a joint interview the couple gave the same day. Charles married Diana at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on 29 July 1981 “We had this ghastly interview the day we announced our engagement,” she said. “And this ridiculous [reporter] said, ‘Are you in love?’ I thought, what a thick question. So I said, ‘Yes, of course, we are,’ and Charles turned round and said, ‘Whatever love means.’ And that threw me completely. I thought, what a strange answer. It traumatised me.”
1981 – Charles buys a bracelet for Camilla Weeks before his July wedding to Diana, Charles bought a bracelet for Camilla, which was engraved with the letters G and F. This stood for Gladys and Fred, the couple’s nicknames for one another, which were inspired by BBC radio programme The Goon Show. Diana discovered the bracelet, she later told her biographer Andrew Morton. She said: “I was still too immature to understand all the messages coming my way. And then someone in his office told me that my husband has had a bracelet made for her. “I walked into this man’s office one day and I said, ‘Ooh, what’s in that parcel?’ And he said ‘Oh, you shouldn’t look at that’. So I opened it and there was the bracelet. I was devastated, and I said ‘Well, he’s going to give it to her tonight’. “So rage, rage, rage. You know, ‘Why can’t you be honest with me?’ But no, absolutely cut me dead. It was as if he’d made his decision, and if it wasn’t going to work, it wasn’t going to work.”
1986 – Charles and Camilla’s affair begins American journalist and historian Sally Bedell Smith’s biography of Charles, Prince Charles: The Passions and Paradoxes, states that his affair with his ex-girlfriend Camilla began in 1986. In 2017, Camilla spoke about having been initially reviled by the press and the effect it had on her. She told You magazine: “It was horrid. It was a deeply unpleasant time and I wouldn’t want to put my worst enemy through it. I couldn’t have survived it without my family.”
1989 – Diana confronts Camilla In 2004, an audio tape Diana made for her biographer Andrew Morton was broadcast for the first time on NBC for the first time. On the tape, Diana recounted an incident at a party in 1989 when she confronted Camilla, interrupting a chat between Camilla, Charles and another man. “I was terrified of her. I said, ‘I know what’s going on between you and Charles and I just want you to know that,’” Diana is heard saying in the recording. “I said to the two men, ‘OK, boys, I’m just going to have a quick word with Camilla and I’ll be up in a minute’,” she said. “And they shot upstairs like chickens with no heads and I could feel, upstairs, all hell breaking loose – ‘What is she going to do?’” Diana said Camilla’s response was “very interesting”. She recalled: “She said to me: ‘You’ve got everything you ever wanted. You’ve got all the men in the world fall in love with you and you’ve got two beautiful children, what more do you want?’ “So I said, ‘I want my husband’. And I said, ‘I’m sorry I’m in the way… and it must be hell for both of you. But I do know what’s going on. Don’t treat me like an idiot.’”
December 1992 – Charles and Diana announce separation On 9 December, Prime Minister John Major announced that the Prince and Princess of Wales had separated “amicably”.
1993 – Charles and Camilla’s explicit phone call revealed Details of a secretly recorded ‘Camillagate’ explicit phone call between Charles and Camilla, which took place in 1989, were published by tabloid newspapers. The leaked phone call did not make it into royal drama The Crown as Josh O’Connor, the actor who portrays Charles, point-blank refused to do it. “When they offered me the role,” he told SiriusXM. “One of my first questions was I say questions, I think it was pretty much a statement ‘We are not doing the [phone call’].”
January 1995 – Camilla and Andrew announce divorce Camilla and Andrew Parker Bowles announced that they intended to divorce. However, Charles still refused to confirm divorce proceedings between him and Diana, with a spokesperson telling The New York Times that a previous statement denying that a divorce was in the works was “still absolutely the case”. The original statement said that “there is no truth in reports which state that it has been agreed that a divorce should take place or that there have been discussions about a financial settlement between the parties”.
November 1995 – Princess Diana is interviewed by Martin Bashir In her now-infamous BBC Panorama interview, Princess Diana said there were “three people” in her marriage, a reference to her husband’s relationship with Camilla. Diana said that “woman’s instinct” meant she knew about Charles’s affair but that she was also told by her staff and those “who minded and cared about our marriage”. Bashir asked the princess: “Do you think Mrs Parker-Bowles was a factor in the breakdown of your marriage?” Diana replied: “Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”
August 1996 – Charles and Diana’s divorce is finalised Newspapers reporting that Queen Elizabeth had sent a letter to both Prince Charles and the Princess Diana spelling out her ‘desire for an early divorce’ The couple were finally legally separated in 1996, almost four years after their separation was first announced.
July 1997 – Charles hosts birthday party for Camilla Charles hosted a 50th birthday party for Camilla at his home Highgrove in Gloucestershire.
Sept 1997 – Diana is killed in a car crash The Princess of Wales died in a car crash in a road tunnel in Paris while being chased by paparazzi. Her partner, film producer Dodi Fayed, also died in the accident alongside the couple’s driver, Henri Paul.
August 1999 – Charles vacations with Camilla and his sons Camilla joined Charles, Harry and William on a holiday to Greece.
2000 – The Queen attends an event Camilla is invited to Up until this point, the Queen had declined invitations for events Camilla was going to be attending, including a private 50th birthday party for Charles in 1998. In 2000, however, she accepted an invitation to a 60th birthday party for the King of Greece at Charles’s home in Highgrove.
2003 – Camilla moves into Clarence House Charles and Camilla moved into official London residence Clarence House in 2003.
February 2005 – The couple announce their engagement Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles formally announced their engagement, and that the wedding date had been set as 9 April 2005. In a statement released at the time, the Prince of Wales said the occasion would mark a “very special day for us and our families”. Princes William and Harry also released a statement, which said: “We are both very happy for our father and Camilla, and we wish them all the luck in the future.” It was also announced that Camilla would use the title HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, following her marriage to Prince Charles.” It is intended that Mrs Parker Bowles should use the title HRH The Princess Consort when The Prince of Wales accedes to The Throne,” the statement continued.
April 2005 – The couple marries 35 years after first meeting The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall married on 8 April – 35 years after their first meeting – at Windsor Guildhall, with Prince William as best man. The Queen and Prince Philip didn’t attend the civil ceremony, but were present for the service of prayer in St George’s Chapel, after the civil ceremony. Camilla wore a cream dress by Anna Valentine.
April 2020 – The couple celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary The couple marked 15 years of marriage amid the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. They released a picture of them with the duchess’s dogs Bluebell and Beth on the anniversary.
February 2022 – Queen Elizabeth II acknowledges Camilla as Queen Consort The Queen said she hoped the Duchess of Cornwall will be known as Queen Consort when Prince Charles takes the throne. She used her Platinum Jubilee message – celebrating her 70th year as the monarch – to set out her hopes for her daughter-in-law, once a royal mistress, to be called Queen Consort. This was a a huge U-turn after Camilla took the lesser title Princess Consort when she married Charles 17 years ago, The late Queen’s message, expressing her succession support for Charles, read: “And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service.”
September 2022 – Prince Charles and Camilla receive new titles after Queen Elizabeth’s death After Queen Elizabeth II’s death on 8 September, Prince Charles immediately became King Charles III. Addressing the nation outside 10 Downing Street, the country’s new prime minister Liz Truss said: “Today the Crown passes – as it is has done for more than a thousand years – to our new monarch, our new head of state: His Majesty King Charles III.” The Duchess of Cornwall was bestowed the title of Queen Consort, as per the late Queen’s wishes.”
On 9 September, 2022 King Charles referred to Camilla as Queen Consort officially, in his first address to the nation since his mother’s death. In the televised speech, recorded from the Blue Drawing Room of Buckingham Palace, he said: “I count on the loving help of my darling wife, Camilla. In recognition of her own loyal public service since our marriage 17 years ago, she becomes my Queen Consort. “I know she will bring to the demands of her new role the steadfast devotion to duty on which I have come to rely so much.”

New fines for van dwellers in parts of Bristol – New parking charges on the Downs considered in plan to drive away van dwellers New parking charges on the Downs are being considered in a plan to drive away van dwellers from living on the roads throughout the parkland. The car park north of the old zoo will also see new parking charges introduced soon, to help pay for maintenance of the area. An estimated 60 vans are regularly parked on the roads around the Downs, home to people looking for a cheaper lifestyle amid Bristol’s soaring housing costs. But the councillors and businessmen who oversee the parkland are considering options for how to move them on, due to safety concerns. One plan would see pay-and-display parking charges brought onto all roads on the Downs, with a limit of two hours and a free 30-minute option. The Downs committee will press Bristol City Council to consider introducing the charges. Separately, the Downs committee is also planning to introduce parking charges at the car park north of the old zoo on Clifton Down. This is currently a free car park, but would be made pay-and-display, in a bid to raise money to pay for the maintenance of the parkland. During a Downs committee meeting on Tuesday, April 25, Green councillor Paula O’Rourke, lord mayor and chair of the committee, said she was concerned about the safety of gas canisters used by many van dwellers, as well as pushing them to live elsewhere across Bristol. She said: “There’s an issue with van dwellers there, but equally there’s an issue across the whole city with van dwellers. So a lot of things have to be looked at, like where else would van dwellers go? Should we also perhaps look at meanwhile sites that are available across the city? “I don’t know who’s happy with the fact that we’ve got more and more van dwellers parking up there, being less and less safe. “The last time I was up there, I saw so many gas canisters outside, and that just really did freak me out. There are concerns that there’s going to be a major fire up there one day.” Before charges could be introduced on the roads through the Downs, the council would have to consult the public on a traffic regulation order. This would ultimately be up to the cabinet to decide. Labour councillor Kye Dudd, cabinet member for climate, ecology, waste and energy, said the council needed to make sure there were “enough appropriate places for people to go”. He said: “There is a long-standing policy on van dwellers, some have legal protections, others not. From time to time new pressures crop up where you get a large concentration of van dwellers, and sometimes that includes behaviour that the council has to deal with. “Some of them will be legally parked and correctly taxed, and because of the traffic regulations they’re allowed to park there. Others won’t be, and people are fined from time to time, but they just see it as a cost of living there. “If you strengthen the parking restrictions, obviously those people are going to go somewhere else, aren’t they?

School ignores girl who can’t use unisex toilets – Schoolgirl’s life being made a misery by unisex toilets Coventry Live by Jaspreet Kaur • 20 Apr – A mum has shared her fury after claiming that her daughter fears changing her sanitary products at a secondary school in Coventry. She said unisex toilets have caused a number of problems at Caludon Castle School. She said her teenage daughter was diagnosed with a kidney problem at six months old. It means she definitely has to use the toilet when she knows needs to go, and more frequently. The mum said the needs of her 14-year-old daughter, however, have not been taken into consideration despite repeated pleas to leaders at Caludon Castle School. She said her daughter has been refused to go to the toilet during lessons and also fears changing her sanitary towels inside the unisex toilets at the secondary school in Wyken. Speaking to CoventryLive, the 32-year-old mum, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “When the girls are in there, they are in there with boys, my daughter has had the door kicked in on her by boys when she is changing her sanitary towel. She has had it where it has come all down her leg. “She has sometimes been too scared to change when she comes on her periods monthly and her pads have come through onto her uniform.” She added: “She has come through onto her school uniform, loads of different things have happened. She has been the near experience of actually soiling her trousers and she has had to run otherwise there would have been an accident which she could potentially be bullied for.” She said her young daughter will ‘make excuses’ to go home so she can change her sanitary towels during the school day. “She will make any excuse to try and get out of school when she is on her period to come and change her pad. “I think that sort of affects her education and wellbeing in school. School is supposed to be a safe place,” the mum said. She added: “She should be allowed to change her sanitary products no matter whether she is in a class or not and it should be in a safe space, not where a boy can walk in. She has had boys’ heads coming over the toilet door when she has been on the toilet and that is just embarrassing.” She said her young daughter was granted a week-long pass to use the toilet despite the fact she showed a letter detailing her condition from the GP. She said: “I do not know how many more doctors’ notes I can get to prove to the school that she does have a problem.” She added: “I have told her to walk out because I do not want her wetting herself again.” Although, this causes caused further problems as the schoolgirl then receives detentions for truancy. She said: “I am getting a lot of notifications for truancy and when you ring the school to find out what it is it is like she completed her work and left to go to the toilet.” She said the anxiety of not being able to use the toilet has negatively affected her teenage daughter. “It does affect her and she is on edge all the time because she cannot time when it is going to happen,” she said. It comes after a teenage girl was left with a large cut to her forehead after a boy ‘donkey-kicked’ the toilet cubicle door at Caludon Castle School. Mum Gemma Brennan called on the secondary school to scrap unisex toilets which she previously described as a ‘massive concern.’ Caludon Castle School has been approached for comment by CoventryLive.

OPERATE BEYOND YOUR AUTHORITY, BEYOND THE LAW: Mark Anderson from UK Column on the Global Parliament of Mayors and how Marvin Rees is a key player in this. Coincidentally or not, Trump made the announcement in early June of 2017, right when the 65th Bilderberg Meeting was taking place a short distance from Washington in Chantilly, Virginia. A longtime Bilderberg-connected news organ, the Washington Post, trounced Trump for his Paris stance all weekend long, as the elite, secretive Bilderberg gathering concluded. Awash in financial resources due to the leadership of former New York mayor and multi-billionaire Michael Bloomberg, among other deep-pocketed connectionsthis mayoral vanguard bided its time and held its first-ever North American Climate Summit on 4-6 December at Chicago’s Sheraton Grand Hotel, in collaboration with the city of Chicago. Some 50 mayors from across the world attended, amid lofty claims that 7,500 cities are under the sway of the covenant’s “climate change” worldview. All of the attending mayors have gone on record, without any known dissent, claiming that climate change caused by humanity’s industrial, agricultural and other routine emissions is an unchallengeable fact. Accordingly, they no longer traffic in more precise terminology like “global warming.” They instead, of course, utter the nebulous “climate change” mantra nonstop. That way, seemingly unusual temperature shifts, or highly severe storms, drought etc., all can be attributed to humanity’s routine atmospheric emissions, without regard to other possible causes. While the gathered mayors signed the Chicago Climate Charterto call for participating cities to undertake projects and policies to meet or exceed the emissions limits spelled out in the Paris Agreementthe very latest is that the covenant met again in Paris on 12 December for the One Planet Summit. There, two major news bulletins were issued, with one of them noting: “The World Bank partners with the Global Covenant of Mayors and will lend $4.5 billion [U.S. dollars] to ensure 150 cities have the funds to implement initiatives to increase sustainability and resilience and fight climate change.”

When central banks put interest rates up to ‘bring down inflation’ they are actually INCREASING inflation! – Bank of England warned it will ‘totally crash the economy’ over interest rate decision EXCLUSIVE: A political economist tells Express.co.uk that the Bank of England’s strategy is worsening the cost of living crisis, not fixing it. The Bank of England will “totally crash the economy” if they continue to keep interest rates at their current levels, an economist warns. On Thursday, the Bank announced that it will raise borrowing costs for an eleventh successive time to 4.25 percent from 4 percent. This came after it was reported that inflation in the UK jumped in February to 10.4 percent. Bank of England Governor, Andrew Bailey, said that he feels “a bit more optimistic now” that the UK can avoid recession. He added: “We’ve seen signs of inflation really peaking now. But of course it’s far too high…. We need to see it starting to come down progressively and get back to target.” But Richard Murphy, a political economist, tells Express.co.uk that the Bank of England’s strategy is not going to help tackle inflation, and could cause economic catastrophe.

Diane Abbott MP suspended from Labour Party for letter about prejudice not racism. Tony Greenstein blog The One Thing Diane Abbot Hasn’t Been Suspended For Is Anti-Semitism – The organisation which is responsible for combating ‘Anti-Semitism’ is the Community Security Trust, which is a project of Israel’s Mossad (MI6) – Diane Abbott is not antisemitic – Racism is black and white by Diane Abbot, letter to the Guardian 27 April 2023: Tomiwa Owolade claims that Irish, Jewish and Traveller people all suffer from “racism” (“Racism in Britain is not a black and white issue. It’s far more complicated”, Comment). They undoubtedly experience prejudice. This is similar to racism and the two words are often used as if they are interchangeable. It is true that many types of white people with points of difference, such as redheads, can experience this prejudice. But they are not all their lives subject to racism. In pre-civil rights America, Irish people, Jewish people and Travellers were not required to sit at the back of the bus. In apartheid South Africa, these groups were allowed to vote. And at the height of slavery, there were no white-seeming people manacled on the slave ships. Diane Abbott House of Commons, London SW1

Andrew Bridgen MP expelled from Conservative Party – him discussing the harms of Covid jabs. Dozens of AstraZeneca jab victims are suing the government [see full article below]. Andrew Bridgen expelled from Tories for saying jabs one of biggest crimes since Holocaust The MP for North West Leicestershire has been expelled from the party as an ordinary member, as well as having the whip removed. Andrew Bridgen has been expelled from the Conservative Party for good, after comparing Covid vaccines to the Holocaust. He was removed from the party on April 12 it was revealed earlier today. He had already had the Conservative whip removed, meaning he was forced to sit as an independent, but he has now been expelled as an ordinary member. A Tory spokesman told the Sun: “Mr Bridgen was expelled from the Conservative Party on 12th April following the recommendation of a disciplinary panel. He has 28 days from this date to appeal.” This came after the MP for North West Leicestershire tweeted an article about the vaccine with the caption: “As one consultant cardiologist said to me, this is the biggest crime against humanity since the Holocaust.” But in a statement, Mr Bridgen confirmed his intentions to stand against the Conservatives at the next election. He said: “My expulsion from the Conservative Party under false pretences only confirms the culture of corruption, collusion and cover-ups which plagues our political system. North West Leicestershire MP Andrew Bridgen is expected to join Laurence Fox’s Reclaim Party after being thrown out of the Conservative Party for a Tweet comparing the Covid vaccines programme to the Holocaust. The Conservative Party confirmed today that it expelled Mr Bridgen on April 12, despite him receiving a letter of support from 26 Jewish academics. “I have been a vocal critic of the vaccine rollout and the party have been sure to make an example of me. “I am grateful for my newfound freedom and will continue to fight for justice for all those harmed, injured and bereaved due to governmental incompetence. “I will continue to serve my constituents as I was elected to do and intend to stand again at the next election.” In a rebuttal statement, he added: “This is not the Conservative Party I have served as an elected member for the last 13 years, it’s a sad day for democracy, free speech and the representation of the very real and evergrowing concerns of my constituents and others regarding the safety and efficacy of the novel Covid 19 vaccines. “Given my lack of faith in your procedures and the unrecognisable persona of what has become of the Conservative Party over what should have been a straightforward matter of parliamentary scrutiny regarding a major public health policy position, I will not, in most likelihood, be lodging a formal appeal against expulsion.” A source close to Mr Bridgen pointed out that a precondition of his appeal being allowed to take place was there was no publicity. The source said: “Now somebody else has leaked it, Andrew won’t be allowed to appeal which shows how unfair the process is.”…

King’s Coronation on Saturday 6th May – Noel Botham’s book on death of Diana – John Morgan on Prince Charles’s Way Ahead Group, Diana’s increasing publicity, and assassination plans for her.  Princess Diana never believed Charles was a ‘suitable’ King, claims royal expert EXCLUSIVE: King Charles will be crowned at Westminster Abbey next Saturday (May 6), with more than 2,000 guests attending the lavish ceremony. Princess Diana never thought her husband Prince Charles was cut out to be King one day, a royal expert has claimed. But Hilary Fordwich also believes that, despite his former wife’s increasing “bitterness”, she remained steadfastly loyal to Queen Elizabeth II throughout her life – and suggested she had taught the monarchy, especially King Charles himself, valuable lessons about the importance of connecting with his people. With King Charles III’s Coronation at Westminster Abbey, fast approaching, Ms Fordwich, a UK businesswoman who appears regularly on US television where she speaks about royal issues, said the 74-year-old would be reflecting on the past – not least the collapse of his ill-fated first marriage. She said: “The then Princess Diana notoriously made many memorable scathing comments regarding the suitability of the-then Prince Charles to be King. “She was an aristocrat and had more British royal blood even than Charles and in addition via the Spencer side from the Spencer-Churchill line, was related to Winston Churchill. “All this meant she was a monarchist and never spoke badly of Queen Elizabeth II.” Charles and Diana’s turbulent marriage came to an end in 1996, 15 years after they tied the knot – by which time Ms Fordwich said she had become “increasingly embittered and needless to say had her own agenda”. She explained: “She knew that being King was Charles’ definite destiny and not one that she would be along with.

FRANCE – AUGUST 28: Aff – Diana: Richard Tomlinson, former MI6 made revelations to justice in Paris, France on August 28, 1998. (Photo by Chip HIRES/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images)

DON’T MENTION DIANA [see Richard Tomlinson affidavit below]: ‘Later in 1992, as the civil war in the former Yugoslavia became increasingly topical, I started to work primarily on operations in Serbia. During this time, I became acquainted with Dr Nicholas Bernard Frank FISHWICK, born 1958, the MI6 officer who at the time was in charge of planning Balkan operations. During one meeting with Dr Fishwick, he casually showed to me a three-page document that on closer inspection turned out to be an outline plan to assassinate the Serbian leader President Slobodan Milosevic. The plan was fully typed, and attached to a yellow “minute board”, signifying that this was a formal and accountable document. It will therefore still be in existence. Fishwick had annotated that the document be circulated to the following senior MI6 officers: Maurice KENDWRICK-PIERCEY, then head of Balkan operations, John RIDDE, then the security officer for Balkan operations, the SAS liaison officer to MI6 (designation MODA/SO, but I have forgotten his name), the head of the Eastern European Controllerate (then Richard FLETCHER) and finally Alan PETTY, the personal secretary to the then Chief of MI6, Colin McCOLL. This plan contained a political justification for the assassination of Milosevic, followed by three outline proposals on how to achieve this objective. I firmly believe that the third of these scenarios contained information that could be useful in establishing the causes of death of Henri Paul, the Princess of Wales, and Dodi Al Fayed. This third scenario suggested that Milosevic could be assassinated by causing his personal limousine to crash. Dr Fishwick proposed to arrange the crash in a tunnel, because the proximity of concrete close to the road would ensure that the crash would be sufficiently violent to cause death or serious injury, and would also reduce the possibility that there might be independent, casual witnesses. Dr Fishwick suggested that one way to cause the crash might be to disorientate the chauffeur using a strobe flash gun, a device which is occasionally deployed by special forces to, for example, disorientate helicopter pilots or terrorists, and about which MI6 officers are briefed about during their training. In short, this scenario bore remarkable similarities to the circumstances and witness accounts of the crash that killed the Princess of Wales, Dodi Al Fayed, and Henri Paul. I firmly believe that this document should be yielded by MI6 to the Judge investigating these deaths, and would provide further leads that he could follow.

‘The way the Windsors got their millions is a Royal RIP-OFF more in line with Henry VIII than a modern democracy,’ writes author and former government minister NORMAN BAKER Author has led the way holding the Royal Family to account over huge wealth But they ‘use the tax system to their advantage’ and ‘evade awkward questions’ Read here: Charles can’t hide behind aides. His fingerprints are all over this After pressure from Charles, the supply of information has dried up to a dribble. The Duchy of Lancaster, including the Whitewell Estate in the Forest of Bowland, is owned by the monarchy. It was passed directly from the late Queen to King Charles with no tax paid But not royal ones. When I visited Kew, I found there were 3,629 closed files on the Royal Family. Some are closed for 100 years. Worse, some files, especially those containing embarrassing financial information, are kept in the private royal archives in Windsor where they will disappear into a black hole, perhaps forever. Where has all the Windsors’ money come from? The simple answer is that it all originates from the public purse, either directly or indirectly through unique tax breaks, then augmented by investments (again not properly taxed). And nothing has been paid on the vast legacy, including private property, from the Queen to Charles. The cash-strapped Treasury is being deprived of millions by possibly the richest family in the country. Between 1952 and 1993 the Queen paid no income tax or corporation tax, and no income dividend tax. In 2001, statisticians from Barclays Capital calculated that the £2m stock investment made by the Queen in 1951 would, 50 years later, be worth £1.4 billion. If tax had been paid, the residual figure would have been less than £300 million – almost a billion pounds lost to the public purse from this one source alone. But it was from 2012 that the royal gravy train really picked up speed. Because this was the year the Sovereign Grant Act came into force, sweeping away the long-established Civil List and replacing it with a generous new source of public funding. The figures speak for themselves. Between 2001 and 2011, the old Civil List had been set at £7.9 million annually. In the most recent financial year, the Sovereign Grant payout to the Royal Family reached a staggering £86.3 million.

There’s no escaping that for some loyal monarchists, the shadow of Princess Diana will hang over Saturday’s Coronation service. No one feels this more keenly than PATRICK JEPHSON, her former private secretary who’s written this highly personal essay – Soon after, as the Wales’s marriage began its final, terminal disintegration, the Princess promoted me to be her private secretary, tasked first with carving out her own organisation from what had been a unified office and then taking the Diana show on the road. It was heady stuff: ‘We’ve got work to do, Patrick,’ and she set about it, with style, grace and guts. Charles steadily advanced on the objective that’s clearly his life’s great work: the transformation of Camilla Parker Bowles from guilty secret into the anointed Queen of the United Kingdom, writes Patrick Jephson Sadly, the Prince found it difficult to take pleasure from public admiration, even affection, for his then wife. It should have been a source of satisfaction that her efforts added a new relevance and new supporters to the Royal Family, but instead an extraordinary resentment took control. Scraping the barrel, some of his advisers briefed media allies against her, even whispering that she was mentally ill. Did Charles countenance such callous tactics against the mother of his children? Even having to ask the question made me realise that here was yet another version of the Prince, one I found much less easy to admire. Fatally estranged from the royal support system, she now took a path that led only to a mirage of freedom and ultimate tragedy. Meanwhile, the Prince steadily advanced on the objective that’s clearly his life’s great work: the transformation of Camilla Parker Bowles from guilty secret into the anointed Queen of the United Kingdom. Today that work will be complete. That news may fill you with joy. This may indeed be the happy ending that justifies years of marital strife and decades of collateral damage. Perhaps, in the famous words of the King’s daughter-in-law Meghan Markle, ‘Love wins’. Yet for many loyal monarchists, all this rejoicing with its tinge of triumphalism may still feel slightly unsettling. A romance that conquers everything in its path is bound to stir some misgivings.

David Douglass, from National Union of Mine Workers, and author of ‘Climate Change and the Total Destruction of the British Coal Mining Industry’, versus Shane Collins, Councillor for Green Party – they debate the Net Zero policies and the demise of coal – Coal, Climate Change & the Total Destruction of the British Coal Mining Undustry (2022) A timely book that clearly describes the effects of shutting down Coal production in Britain and the need to reconstruct the industry for both jobs and affordable energy. The book clearly describes how clean modern super-ultracritical coal power stations are and how CO2 capture can be added for a small fraction of the cost of carbon taxes, making Coal easily the cheapest form of energy we can make in Britain. In the era of 42p/kWh the prospect of unlimited 3p/kWh (4p/kWh w/capture) wholesale, 6p/kwH (8p/kWh) retail Tens of thousands of our people will die this winter if we have 42p/kWh energy costs. Even worse if it goes to 60p/kWh as expected. If you care about our country you must read this book.

UAE & NATO funding terrorist RSF Militia to destabilise Sudan: Mohammed Makawi, Bristol Councillor for the Green Party, who is Sudanese, on the unfolding war in Sudan, and the influence of the big powers in the area, The West, Russia and China. The history of Sudan. Gold, arms and mercenaries: On UAE’s shadowy networks in Sudan The UAE’s network-centric statecraft is part of a broader battle for influence in northern Africa he war in Sudan is a multipolar 21st-century conflict in a multipolar world. The country’s many stakeholders – first and foremost the two warring “generals”, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, who leads the Sudanese army, and Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, better known as Hemeti, who heads the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) – have become pawns in a wider competition to exercise influence in the strategically important Horn of Africa. No country has been playing this game more assertively than the United Arab Emirates, which has curated and orchestrated a diverse grid of networks across the region. Although Abu Dhabi does not likely have an interest in the current escalation and destabilisation of Sudan – one western official even suggested the Emirates had “buyer’s remorse” – its network-centric statecraft appears to have created a complex web of interdependencies and competition that it is now unable to control. The story of the UAE in Sudan is a story of a relatively small, tribally based monarchy trying to exercise influence far beyond what one would conventionally consider to be its geostrategic weight. Defying traditional limitations of statecraft, the Bani Fatima branch of Abu Dhabi’s royal family has innovatively delegated statecraft to surrogates such as private individuals, corporations, banks, merchants, militias and mercenaries. The story of the UAE in Sudan is a story of networks, curated by Abu Dhabi to achieve strategic objectives with plausible deniability and discretion, while supplementing the limited in-house capacity of its overburdened state institutions. Although the UAE’s official engagement in Sudan is run via its ministries in charge of foreign and security policy, the shadowy networks that all connect seemingly coincidentally in Abu Dhabi and Dubai provide the Bani Fatima with the real levers of power on the ground. These networks allow Abu Dhabi to link partners and competitors, state and non-state actors, and small and great powers to the UAE – elevating the Gulf state to an indispensable hub connecting unlikely regional and global players.

Global military spending is increasing to record levels- – a new arms race – World military spending reaches all-time high of $2.24 trillion Surge in spending reflects Russia-Ukraine war and ‘increasingly insecure world’, according to leading think tank…. The think tank said military spending in Ukraine surged more than six times to $44bn in 2022, the highest single-year increase in a country’s military expenditure ever recorded in SIPRI data. As a percentage of gross domestic product (GDP), military spending surged to 34 percent in 2022, compared with 3.2 percent the year before. Russian military spending grew by an estimated 9.2 per cent in 2022, to about $86.4bn, according to SIPRI. That was equivalent to 4.1 per cent of Russia’s 2022 GDP, up from 3.7 percent in 2021. The United States remained the world’s largest military spender — up 0.7 percent to $877bn in 2022 — which was 39 percent of total global military spending. The increase was largely driven by “the unprecedented level of financial military aid it provided to Ukraine,” SIPRI’s Nan Tian said. US financial military aid to Ukraine totalled $19.9bn in 2022, according to the think tank. China remained the world’s second-largest military spender, allocating an estimated $292bn in 2022. This was 4.2 percent more than in 2021 and represents the 28th consecutive annual increase. Meanwhile, Japan spent $46bn on the military in 2022, a rise of 5.9 percent from the previous year. SIPRI said it was the highest level of Japanese military spending since 1960. Japan and China led military spending in Asia and Oceania, which amounted to $575bn. SIPRI said military expenditure in the region had been rising since at least 1989…..

Tucker Carlson sacking explained. Likely secret through non-disclosure agreement in Dominion voting machines v. Fox News out-of-court settlement. Tucker Carlson gets sacked – him discussing evil and good before he got sacked – but what is real reason for him going?  Tucker Carlson’s firing reveals how afraid the media is of independent journalists Jonathan Cook – 26 April 2023 – The TV host paid the price because he tried the impossible: straddling the divide between corporate media and critical journalism While the left is busy hating on Tucker Carlson, and not without reason, it is missing the bigger picture. Carlson was a genuine aberration in US corporate media. Which is why he is gone – sacked by media “titan” Rupert Murdoch. Yes, over the years Carlson played on white fears, placing him firmly on the right. But he also gave over his massive corporate platform at Fox News to some of the most critical and thoughtful independent journalists and pundits around – from Glenn Greenwald and Aaron Mate to Jimmy Dore. Carlson not only brought them into the living rooms of Main Street, but he undoubtedly helped them grow their audiences and influence. In that way, he exposed ordinary Americans to critical perspectives, especially on US foreign policy, that they had no hope of hearing anywhere else – and most certainly not from so-called “liberal” corporate media outlets like CNN and MSNBC. And he did so while constantly ridiculing the media’s craven collusion with those in power. But all that is being ignored. Media analysis of Carlson’s departure has focused so far almost exclusively on his clashes with Fox News management, and a series of disrespectful tweets, that have come to light as a result of the recent Dominion court case, in which Murdoch was forced to settle with a massive payout. But those clashes cannot be understood outside a wider context in which Carlson was pushing against institutional media constraints at Fox designed to prevent the real work of journalism – holding the powerful to account.

Russia/ Ukraine war story – depleted uranium – British weapons containing depleted uranium already in Ukraine, says UK minister Depleted uranium is a by-product of the nuclear enrichment process used to make nuclear fuel or nuclear weapons. It is 40 per cent less radioactive than natural uranium but is a very heavy substance 1.7 times denser than lead. The UK armed forces minister James Heappey said that the government has already started shipments of depleted uranium ammunition to Ukraine. In response to questions from Scottish MP Kenny MacAskill, Heappey confirmed on Tuesday that DU munitions for the UK-made Challenger 2 tank had already arrived in Ukraine, though declined to comment on Kyiv’s “usage rates for the rounds provided, Russia Today reported. “We have sent thousands of rounds of Challenger 2 ammunition to Ukraine, including depleted uranium armour-piercing rounds,” he said. The weapons are now under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the Defence Ministry “does not monitor the locations from where DU rounds are fired by the AFU in Ukraine,” he was quoted by RT as saying. Russian President Vladimir Putin last month announced plans to station tactical nuclear weapons in neighbouring Belarus days after the British government said that it would provide Ukraine with armour-piercing rounds containing depleted uranium. Responding to a question on whether the government has a responsibility to “help clear up depleted uranium rounds” used in Ukraine after the conflict, the minister stated it has “no obligation” to do so, instead stressing “Ukraine’s immediate needs.”

Black rights activists accused of working with Russians to instil discord in US – .4 Americans from a Black empowerment organization worked with Russian intelligence to spread propaganda, feds say Four Americans affiliated with a Black empowerment and political organization have been charged along with three Russians with conspiring to covertly sow discord in U.S. society, spread Russian propaganda and interfere illegally in U.S. elections, according to an indictment unsealed Tuesday. The U.S. citizens and two Russians were added to an existing case in Tampa, Florida, federal court involving Aleksandr Ionov, described by prosecutors as the founder of a Moscow-based organization funded by the Russian government to carry out a clandestine influence campaign in the U.S. The four Americans are all part of the African People’s Socialist Party and Uhuru Movement, which has locations in St. Petersburg, Florida, and St. Louis. Among those charged is Omali Yeshitela, chairman of the U.S.-based organization — which was raided by the FBI last summer when Ionov was originally charged. “Russia’s foreign intelligence service allegedly weaponized our First Amendment rights — freedoms Russia denies to its own citizens — to divide Americans and interfere in elections in the United States,” said Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen of the Justice Department’s National Security Division.

AFFIDAVIT OF RICHARD TOMLINSON (On the Murder of Princess Diana)

Affidavit given by Richard Tomlinson to Judge H. Stephan (Paris, France) May, 1999

FRANCE – AUGUST 28: Affadavit – Diana: Richard Tomlinson, former MI6 officer made possible revelations about the plan to assassinate Diana in Paris, France on August 28, 1998 to French investigator justice Stephan

Attached below is a sworn and testified statement that I have made on 12th May 1999 to the enquiry into the deaths of the Princess of Wales, Dodi Al Fayed, and Henri Paul. I firmly believe that MI6 have information in their files that would assist Judge Stephan’s enquiry.

Why don’t they yield up this information? They should not be entitled to use the Official Secrets Act to protect themselves from investigation into the deaths of three people, particularly in the case of an incident of this magnitude and historical importance.

1.. I firmly believe that there exist documents held by the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) that would yield important new evidence into the cause and circumstances leading to the deaths of the Princess of Wales, Mr Dodi Al Fayed, and M. Henri Paul in Paris in August 1997.

2.. I was employed by MI6 between September 1991 and April 1995. During that time, I saw various documents that I believe would provide new evidence and new leads into the investigation into these deaths. I also heard various rumours which though I was not able to see supporting documents I am confident were based on solid fact.

3.. In 1992, I was working in the Eastern European Controllerate of MI6 and I was peripherally involved in a large and complicated operation to smuggle advanced Soviet weaponry out of the then disintegrating and disorganised remnants of the Soviet Union. During 1992, I spent several days reading the substantial files on this operation. These files contain a wide miscellany of contact notes, telegrams, intelligence reports, photographs etc, from which it was possible to build up a detailed understanding of the operation. The operation involved a large cast of officers and agents of MI6. On more than one occasion, meetings between various figures in the operation took place at the Ritz Hotel, Place de Vendome, Paris. There were in the file several intelligence reports on these meetings, which had been written by one of the MI6 officers based in Paris at the time (identified in the file only by a coded designation). The source of the information was an informant in the Ritz Hotel, who again was identified in the files only by a code number. The MI6 officer paid the informant in cash for his information. I became curious to learn more about the identity of this particular informant, because his number cropped up several times and he seemed to have extremely good access to the goings on in the Ritz Hotel. I therefore ordered this informants personal file from MI6’s central file registry.

When I read this new file, I was not at all surprised to learn that the informant was a security officer of the Ritz Hotel. Intelligence services always target the security officers of important hotels because they have such good access to intelligence. I remember, however, being mildly surprised that the nationality of this informant was French, and this stuck in my memory, because it is rare that MI6 succeeds in recruiting a French informer. I cannot claim that I remember from this reading of the file that the name of this person was Henri Paul, but I have no doubt with the benefit of hindsight that this was he. Although I did not subsequently come across Henri Paul again during my time in MI6, I am confident that the relationship between he and MI6 would have continued until his death, because MI6 would never willingly relinquish control over such a well placed informant. I am sure that the personal file of Henri Paul will therefore contain notes of meetings between him and his MI6 controlling officer right up until the point of his death. I firmly believe that these files will contain evidence of crucial importance to the circumstances and causes of the incident that killed M. Paul, together with the Princess of Wales and Dodi Al Fayed.

4.. The most senior undeclared officer in the local MI6 station would normally control an informant of M. Paul’s usefulness and seniority. Officers declared to the local counter-intelligence service (in this case the Directorate de Surveillance Territoire, or DST) would not be used to control such an informant, because it might lead to the identity of the informant becoming known to the local intelligence services. In Paris at the time of M. Paul’s death, there were two relatively experienced but undeclared MI6 officers. The first was Mr Nicholas John Andrew LANGMAN, born 1960. The second was Mr Richard David SPEARMAN, again born in 1960. I firmly believe that either one or both of these officers will be well acquainted with M Paul, and most probably also met M. Paul shortly before his death. I believe that either or both of these officers will have knowledge that will be of crucial importance in establishing the sequence of events leading up to the deaths of M.Paul, Dodi Al Fayed and the Princess of Wales. Mr Spearman in particular was an extremely well connected and influential officer, because he had been, prior to his appointment in Paris, the personal secretary to the Chief of MI6 Mr David SPEDDING. As such, he would have been privy to even the most confidential of MI6 operations. I believe that there may well be significance in the fact that Mr Spearman was posted to Paris in the month immediately before the deaths.

5.. Later in 1992, as the civil war in the former Yugoslavia became increasingly topical, I started to work primarily on operations in Serbia.

6.. During my service in MI6, I also learnt unofficially and second-hand something of the links between MI6 and the Royal Household. MI6 are frequently and routinely asked by the Royal Household (usually via the Foreign Office) to provide intelligence on potential threats to members of the Royal Family whilst on overseas trips. This service would frequently extend to asking friendly intelligence services (such as the CIA) to place members of the Royal Family under discrete surveillance, ostensibly for their own protection. This was particularly the case for the Princess of Wales, who often insisted on doing without overt personal protection, even on overseas trips. Although contact between MI6 and the Royal Household was officially only via the Foreign Office, I learnt while in MI6 that there was unofficial direct contact between certain senior and influential MI6 officers and senior members of the Royal Household. I did not see any official papers on this subject, but I am confident that the information is correct. I firmly believe that MI6 documents would yield substantial leads on the nature of their links with the Royal Household, and would yield vital information about MI6 surveillance on the Princess of Wales in the days leading to her death.

7.. I also learnt while in MI6 that one of the “paparazzi” photographers who routinely followed the Princess of Wales was a member of “UKN”, a small corps of part-time MI6 agents who provide miscellaneous services to MI6 such as surveillance and photography expertise. I do not know the identity of this photographer, or whether he was one of the photographers present at the time of the fatal incident. However, I am confident that examination of UKN records would yield the identity of this photographer, and would enable the inquest to eliminate or further investigate that potential line of enquiry.

8.. On Friday August 28 1998, I gave much of this information to Judge Herve Stephan, the French investigative Judge in charge of the inquest into the accident. The lengths which MI6, the CIA and the DST have taken to deter me giving this evidence and subsequently to stop me talking about it, suggests that they have something to hide.

9.. On Friday 31 July 1998, shortly before my appointment with Judge Herve Stephan, the DST arrested me in my Paris hotel room. Although I have no record of violent conduct I was arrested with such ferocity and at gunpoint that I received a broken rib. I was taken to the headquarters of the DST, and interrogated for 38 hours. Despite my repeated requests, I was never given any justification for the arrest and was not shown the arrest warrant. Even though I was released without charge, the DST confiscated from me my laptop computer and Psion organiser. They illegally gave these to MI6 who took them back to the UK. They were not returned for six months, which is illegal and caused me great inconvenience and financial cost.

10.. On Friday 7th August 1998 I boarded a Qantas flight at Auckland International airport, New Zealand, for a flight to Sydney, Australia where I was due to give a television interview to the Australian Channel Nine television company. I was in my seat, awaiting take off, when an official boarded the plane and told me to get off. At the airbridge, he told me that the airline had received a fax “from Canberra” saying that there was a problem with my travel papers. I immediately asked to see the fax, but I was told that “it was not possible”. I believe that this is because it didn’t exist. This action was a ploy to keep me in New Zealand so that the New Zealand police could take further action against me. I had been back in my Auckland hotel room for about half an hour when the New Zealand police and NZSIS, the New Zealand Secret Intelligence Service, raided me. After being detained and searched for about three hours, they eventually confiscated from me all my remaining computer equipment that the French DST had not succeeded in taking from me. Again, I didn’t get some of these items back until six months later.

11.. Moreover, shortly after I had given this evidence to Judge Stephan, I was invited to talk about this evidence in a live television interview on America’s NBC television channel. I flew from Geneva to JFK airport on Sunday 30 August to give the interview in New York on the following Monday morning. Shortly after arrival at John F Kennedy airport, the captain of the Swiss Air flight told all passengers to return to their seats. Four US Immigration authority officers entered the plane, came straight to my seat, asked for my passport and identity, and then frog marched me off the plane. I was taken to the immigration detention centre, photographed, fingerprinted, manacled by my ankle to a chair for seven hours, served with deportation papers (exhibit 1) and then returned on the next available plane to Geneva. I was not allowed to make any telephone calls to the representatives of NBC awaiting me in the airport. The US Immigration Officers – who were all openly sympathetic to my situation and apologised for treating me so badly – openly admitted that they were acting under instructions from the CIA.

12.. In January of this year, I booked a chalet in the village of Samoens in the French Alps for a ten day snowboarding holiday with my parents. I picked up my parents from Geneva airport in a hire car on the evening of January 8, and set off for the French border. At the French customs post, our car was stopped and I was detained. Four officers from the DST held me for four hours. At the end of this interview, I was served with the deportation papers below (exhibit 2), and ordered to return to Switzerland. Note that in the papers, my supposed destination has been changed from “Chamonix” to “Samoens”. This is because when first questioned by a junior DST officer, I told him that my destination was “Chamonix”. When a senior officer arrived an hour or so later, he crossed out the word and changed it to “Samoens”, without ever even asking or confirming this with me. I believe this is because MI6 had told them of my true destination, having learnt the information through surveillance on my parent’s telephone in the UK. My banning from France is entirely illegal under European law. I have a British passport and am entitled to travel freely within the European Union. MI6 have “done a deal” with the DST to have me banned, and have not used any recognised legal mechanism to deny my rights to freedom of travel. I believe that the DST and MI6 have banned me from France because they wanted to prevent me from giving further evidence to Judge Stephan’s inquest, which at the time, I was planning to do.

13.. Whatever MI6s role in the events leading to the death of the Princess of Wales, Dodi Al Fayed and Henri Paul, I am absolutely certain that there is substantial evidence in their files that would provide crucial evidence in establishing the exact causes of this tragedy. I believe that they have gone to considerable lengths to obstruct the course of justice by interfering with my freedom of speech and travel, and this in my view confirms my belief that they have something to hide. I believe that the protection given to MI6 files under the Official Secrets Act should be set aside in the public interest in uncovering once and for all the truth behind these dramatic and historically momentous events.

Covid vaccine: Dozens of families damaged by rare reaction to AstraZeneca jab launch legal fight

https://inews.co.uk/news/health/covid-vaccine-families-rare-reaction-astrazeneca-jab-legal-fight-2228146

Exclusive19 of the 73 claimants have lost relatives while 54 survived blood clots caused by the vaccine but suffered long term damage

Dozens of patients and families whose lives have been damaged by extremely rare reactions to the Oxford/AstraZeneca covid vaccine have launched legal action against the pharmaceutical company.

While the vaccine is widely credited with protecting many millions of people from the virus, 81 patients died and 364 suffered severe reactions, some of them resulting in catastrophic injuries as a result of blood clots caused by the jab. Legal action is now being taken against AstraZeneca by the families of 19 people who died after being vaccinated and 54 patients who suffered severe reactions but survived.

Strokes, paralysis and repeated blood clots are among the symptoms of those who suffered very rare but severe reactions to the vaccine. Many have gone from being fit and healthy to being left struggling to walk and talk, with little hope of getting better.

The latest NHS advice is that Covid-19 vaccination is safe and effective and that it gives people the best protection against Covid-19. NHS advice states: Anyone who gets Covid-19 can become seriously ill or have long-term effects. The Covid-19 vaccines are the best way to protect yourself and others.

In autumn this year, people at higher risk of severe Covid could be offered a booster vaccine dose in preparation for winter 2023-24. For a smaller group of people, such as the elderly and immunosuppressed, an extra booster vaccine dose is already being offered this spring.

The 54 members of the class action group who survived the reaction have been diagnosed as having vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT), a rare condition that has been identified after Covid-19 vaccination.

Lawyers representing the group, who are pursuing personal injury compensation in addition to a Vaccine Damage Payments Scheme claim, argue that the AstraZeneca vaccine was ‘not as safe as the public were entitled to expect’ and that the case is not about finding fault ‘but about the reasonable expectation of safety’. They claim people were provided with a false picture of safety and efficacy and expect the number joining the lawsuit to increase.

Vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia affects approximately 1 in 50,000 AstraZeneca vaccine recipients under 50 years old, and one in 100,000 for those aged 50 and older in England, according to the NHS, which says the effect of the blood clots can be devastating.

AstraZeneca vaccinations were first administered on 4 January, 2021 as part of a rapid rollout of jabs by the NHS. Just a few weeks earlier, Margaret Keenan, 90, had become the first person in the world to receive the Pfizer jab following its clinical approval. By September 2022, almost 25 million first doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine and 27.2 million of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine had been administered in the UK. Around 50 million AstraZeneca doses have been given in total.

As part of the drive to get vaccines developed and on the market quickly, the UK Government had early in the pandemic granted the pharmaceutical giants a legal indemnity protecting them from being sued by patients in the event of any complications. This means that if AstraZeneca has to pay compensation it will be covered by the taxpayer.

The Vaccine Damage Payments Scheme (VDPS) has received 4,017 applications for compensation of which 1,013 have, as of 6 March, been resolved. Of those, 622 related to the AstraZeneca vaccine, 348 for the Pfizer vaccine and 43 for the Moderna vaccine, according to a Freedom of Information request published by the NHS Business Authority this week. All of the claims relate to disability.

Health minister, Maria Caulfield, told Parliament last month that 48 VDPS claims had been successful. All of them are understood to relate to the AstraZeneca vaccine. ‘Medical reasons’ were cited for the majority of cases being rejected. The number of administration staff working for the scheme has increased from four to 80 in recent months as the Government aims to speed up the process.

The scheme provides a one-off tax free payment, currently £120,000, to successful applicants where a vaccine has caused severe disablement. It does not prejudice the right of the disabled person to pursue a claim for damages through the courts. To qualify for a payment, an applicant needs to establish that they meet two main criteria: on the balance of probabilities, the vaccine caused disability, and that the resulting disablement is severe, classified as 60 per cent or more.

UK’s first Covid-19 vaccine

The Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine was the first to be approved for use in the UK with the Government ordering 100 million doses for use in its vaccination programme.

The vast majority of people had the vaccine without suffering complications, but within months reports emerged that a small number of people developed blood clots in combination with low platelet levels, called thrombocytopenia, after receiving a dose.

In April 2021, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) confirmed a possible link between the AstraZeneca vaccine and these rare blood clots, but emphasised that the benefits of the vaccine continued to outweigh the risks for the vast majority of people. The cases of blood clots that the MHRA reviewed were accompanied by abnormally low levels of platelets in the blood.

The following month, the UK’s Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation recommended under-40s were offered an alternative to the AstraZeneca vaccine due to the extra risk of serious side effects in younger people. Countries around the world had already suspended its use by this stage.

In 2022, the JCVI did not recommend using the AstraZeneca vaccine for the UK’s booster campaigns and the Government confirmed it would not order any more doses.

It is no longer used in the UK. It has been used in several other countries around the world, but it is uncertain if any stocks are still being used.

The lawyers are calling upon the Government to ‘appropriately support’ the vaccine injured and bereaved. Pre-action protocol letters have been sent to the Cambridge-based Anglo-Swedish company, which has yet to formally respond to the claims. Lawyers representing the AstraZeneca claimants expect more people to join the lawsuit given that more than 400 people have been recorded as suffering from blood clots.

Peter Todd, consultant solicitor with Scott-Moncrieff & Associates Ltd, is representing 33 of the claimants and told i: ‘According to the MHRA, in the UK up to 23 November, 2022, there had been 445 reports of major blood clots (thrombosis) with concurrent low platelets (thrombocytopenia) reported after AstraZeneca Covid vaccine, including, tragically, 81 deaths.

‘These include strokes, heart attacks, amputations and other major life-changing injuries. This is an unusually large number of very serious injuries to have been caused by a vaccine. We expect to be able to establish in court that these clots were likely caused by the vaccine.’

Mr Todd, who acted for 86 people with narcolepsy as a result of the 2009 pandemic swine flu vaccine, added: ‘We have started an action against AstraZeneca UK Ltd seeking damages for injury and consequential loss for a group so far comprised of 77 such claimants, under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, contending that the vaccine was not as safe as the public were entitled to expect.

‘This is not about fault but about the reasonable expectation of safety. People were told that the vaccine was safe and they relied on such statements at face value. However they have suffered life-changing injury. The Government agreed to indemnify Astra Zeneca against these claims and we call upon the Government to appropriately support the vaccine injured and bereaved as well.’

Officials said they could not comment on ongoing legal proceedings.
