Documents seen by The Mail on Sunday reveal the former prime minister urged Business Secretary Peter Kyle to consult a technology institute founded by his friend Larry Ellison in a private meeting last year. Mr Ellison, the world’s second richest man, has donated or pledged a staggering £257million for the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. He founded the Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT), a research centre in Oxford, and is chairman of tech giant Oracle, which has a £700million IT deal with four Whitehall departments. Experts say Oracle is now in pole position to profit from plans to force millions of adults to sign up for a digital ID card. And an exclusive MoS analysis can reveal that after Sir Tony’s meeting with Mr Kyle, Mr Ellison’s organisations have enjoyed astonishing access to the very top of Government. Indeed, staff from Oracle and EIT have met with ministers and senior officials no fewer than 29 times in nine months. Mr Kyle, Health Secretary Wes Streeting and Chancellor Rachel Reeves have met bosses from Oracle. Former PM Tony Blair is seen on a boat with Larry Ellison, whose technology institute could make millions of pounds from Labour’s controversial digital ID cards Meanwhile science minister Lord Vallance has met EIT representatives seven times – one was to discuss ‘EIT plans for expansion and alignment with Government’s priorities’, official records show. Sir Tony has had a decades-long ‘bromance’ with Mr Ellison, who is worth £290billion, and last year enjoyed a lavish Mediterranean holiday on his superyacht. On Saturday, Conservative Party chairman Kevin Hollinrake said: ‘Despite Keir Starmer’s promises of a ‘crackdown on cronyism’, these revelations show it runs right to the very top of this rotten Labour Government. ‘Tony Blair lobbying Peter Kyle to set up meetings with groups linked to Larry Ellison – now in pole position for the Government’s Digital ID contract – reeks of a blatant conflict of interest. This has all the hallmarks of yet another cosy deal between Labour insiders and powerful vested interests.’ Official papers released under Freedom of Information laws show Sir Tony met Mr Kyle, then technology secretary, at the former PM’s London office on September 12, 2024. During the meeting Sir Tony ‘noted the work of the Ellison Institute… and recommended that SoS [Secretary of State Peter Kyle] sought a briefing on their work’, according to official civil service minutes obtained by investigative website Democracy for Sale. He highlighted how the institute could become ‘an excellent resource’. The documents show an official at Mr Kyle’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology was instructed to ‘look at how we should engage’ with the institute. Sir Tony is among a ‘faculty of fellows’ at EIT, whose campus in Oxford is due to be completed in 2027. The papers also show that Sir Tony asked the cabinet minister ‘where he could support the department’ and highlighted the huge cost savings that digital identity cards could bring. ‘TB noted that the Indian Government had saved $15 billion in fraudulent costs using digital ID,’ the minutes of the meeting state. On Saturday, representatives for Sir Tony said that in the meeting he discussed ‘the investment Larry Ellison is making in science and technology in the UK’. Keir Starmer last week provoked a backlash after announcing that anyone who wants to work in the UK will need a digital ID card. Sir Tony has long championed the policy and his think-tank told the MoS on Saturday that the roll-out would ‘boost the British economy’. But civil liberties groups have warned it risks creating ‘a dystopian nightmare’, while a petition against the plan on Saturday passed 1.6million signatures.

The leaked documents show one planner explaining, “In the jungle, we need more guerrillas and less IDF.” With Paramount and CBS News now under his control, the younger Ellison has installed self-described “Zionist fanatic” Bari Weiss as editor-in-chief. The new owner of Paramount, David Ellison, participated in an Israeli government-led plot to surveil and suppress pro-Palestine activists in the US, leaked emails show. Originally dubbed “12 Tribes,” a reference to the dozen Jewish billionaires solicited to underwrite the operation, the scheme sought out American faces to fund surveillance firms run by Israeli intelligence veterans on behalf of Tel Aviv, as it targeted American citizens participating in the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. The emails documenting the foreign influence campaign to counter BDS were first identified by journalist Jack Poulson, who discovered them in a trove leaked by the Handala hacking collective in 2024. The files show former Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz was tasked with recruiting wealthy Westerners to fund surveillance firms operated by Israeli intelligence veterans as they stalked and harassed people whom the government of Israel suspected of harboring pro-Palestinian sympathies. In the emails, Hollywood talent agency executive Adam Berkowitz identified Ellison as “very interested” in “helping out with [undermining] the BDS movement.” Berkowitz introduced Ellison to the Israeli general in a group email: “Benny meet david. David meet Benny,” Berkowitz wrote on December 23, 2015, explaining that he “told david briefly about your [Gantz’s] 12 tribe idea which you can expound on to him which he seemed very interested in.” Two days later, Ellison replied, “Mr Gantz it is a pleasure to meet you over e-mail. I very much look forward to discussing everything you are working on, and in the mean time hope you are enjoying the holiday season.” He added, “I will be back in LA on January 3rd and look forward to connecting in the New Year.” A planning spreadsheet names other Zionist billionaires sought for the Israeli effort. They included David’s father, Oracle founder and Friends of the IDF board member Larry Ellison; Israeli-American billionaire and top Democratic Party sugar daddy Haim Saban; and Google founder Sergey Brin, whose “Israel-support” was still “tbd.” One of those named, Canadian bookchain owner Heather Reissman, had “already agreed” to donate.

Bradbury Pound.  America’s top banker sounds warning on US stock market fall There is a higher risk of a serious fall in US stocks than is currently being reflected in the market, the head of JP Morgan has told the BBC. Jamie Dimon, who leads America’s largest bank, said he was “far more worried than others” about a serious market correction, which he said could come in the next six months to two years. In a rare and wide-ranging interview, the bank boss also said that the US had become a “less reliable” partner on the world stage. He cautioned he was still “a little worried” about inflation in the US, but insisted he thought the Federal Reserve would remain independent, despite repeated attacks by the Trump administration on its chair Jerome Powell. Jamie Dimon was in Bournemouth, where he was announcing an investment of about £350m in JP Morgan’s campus there, as well as a £3.5m philanthropic investment in local non-profits. Chancellor Rachel Reeves said the investment was “fantastic news for the local economy and people who live” in Dorset. Ahead of the interview, Dimon appeared before a town hall on the campus – cutting a figure more akin to an off-duty rock star than a bank CEO – wearing an open-collar shirt and jeans, and high-fiving staff on his way to the stage. Opening with his take on the UK’s economy, Dimon said he felt Rachel Reeves was doing a “terrific job”, and he felt optimistic about some of the government’s attempts to boost innovation and cut regulation. However, on the broader economic picture, he felt there were increased risks US stock markets were overheated. “I am far more worried about that than others,” he said. In a wide-ranging Big Boss Interview with BBC Business Editor Simon Jack, JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon shares his concerns about a frothy market and America becoming a ‘less reliable’ partner There were a “lot of things out there” creating an atmosphere of uncertainty, he added, pointing to risk factors like the geopolitical environment, fiscal spending and the remilitarisation of the world. “All these things cause a lot of issues that we don’t know how to sort out,” he said. “So I say the level of uncertainty should be higher in most people’s minds than what I would call normal.” Much of the rapid growth in the stock market in recent years has been driven by investment in AI. On Wednesday, the Bank of England drew a comparison with the dotcom boom (and subsequent bust) of the late 1990s – and warned that the value of AI tech companies “appear stretched” with a rising risk of a “sharp correction”. “The way I look at it is AI is real, AI in total will pay off,” he said. “Just like cars in total paid off, and TVs in total paid off, but most people involved in them didn’t do well.” He added some of the money being invested in AI would “probably be lost”.

Zack Polanski apologises over claim he can increase women’s breast sizes with his mind Several Labour MPs have criticised the new Green Party leader over the claims, with one describing them as ‘grim’ Zack Polanski has apologised for claiming to have been able to help women increase the size of their breasts using his mind. The newly elected Green Party leader, while previously working as a hypnotherapist, offered a session to increase an undercover newspaper reporter’s breast size and improve her body image. And, asked about the claims following his landslide leadership win, Mr Polanski said “I apologised for that 12 years ago,” before apologising again. Asked if voters could trust him in light of the claims, he told BBC Breakfast: “Well, it’s never for a politician to say ‘trust me’. “Ultimately, trust is a transactional relationship where you build trust based on the actions.” Labour immediately resurfaced the Green leader’s 2013 claim, with an attack post on the party’s press account declaring: “Meet Zack Polanski. This is the person who the Greens just elected as their new leader.” The post contained an extract of The Sun article declaring Mr Polanski’s support for hypnotic breast enhancement. “This is an extremely new approach, but I can see it becoming popular very quickly, because it’s so safe and a lot cheaper than a boob job,” he is quoted as saying. Several Labour MPs shared the post, with Kettering’s Rosie Wrighting adding: “So this is who the Greens think should lead their party? Says it all.” Stratford and Bow MP Uma Kumaran said: “Grim.” Mr Polanski hit back, saying: “The Labour government, when they could have been talking about the inequality act, or the homeless people on the streets, or the fact that we’ve just spent £15bn in nuclear weapons – we could have that discussion – but no, the Labour Party yesterday put out a press release about a silly article way before I was a politician from over a decade ago that I’ve already apologised for. “That sounds to me like this is a Labour government worrying, and they should do.” Mr Polanski secured the Green Party leadership in a landslide victory, winning 20,411 votes from the party membership, while Ellie Chowns and Adrian Ramsay’s joint campaign received just 3,705 votes.

UK’s ‘absurd’ magic mushroom laws (which grow in October) ‘hinder research’ –  ‘Drugs As Weapons Against Us’ book – drugs deliberately used to derail political movements. Prof David Nutt Psilocybin is a hallucinogenic chemical in magic mushrooms ‘Absurd’ laws dealing with magic mushrooms, ecstasy and cannabis are hindering medical research, according to a former government drugs adviser. Prof David Nutt says he has funding to research the use of the chemical psilocybin – found in fungi known as “magic mushrooms” to treat depression. But he says “insane” regulations mean he cannot get hold of the drug. The Home Office said there was “no evidence” that regulations were a barrier to research. It is not the first time Prof Nutt has been at odds with government policy. He was sacked as an adviser over views that ecstasy and LSD were less harmful than alcohol. Psilocybin is illegal in the UK and is a Class A drug. Earlier research at Imperial College London showed that injections of psilocybin could calm a region of the brain which is overactive in depression. The group is now trying to conduct a clinical trial to test psilocybin as a treatment. Stumbling block The UK’s Medical Research Council has given the lab a £550,000 grant to test the idea – in 30 patients who have not responded to at least two other therapies. They have also been given ethical approval. However, there are more stringent regulations for testing the drug as a treatment than in earlier experiments. As a potential medicine it must meet Good Manufacturing Practice requirements set out by the EU. “It hasn’t started yet because the big problem is getting hold of the drug,” said Prof Nutt. He said finding a company to provide a clinical-grade psilocybin had “yet proved impossible” as none was prepared to “go through the regulatory hoops”. “So we are between a rock and a hard place, which is very unfortunate, because if this is an effective treatment for patients then they’re obviously being denied that possibility so one of the things we have to do now is have a more rational debate about the way the drugs laws are being implemented.” He will tell the British Neuroscience Association that similar rules are hampering research into other drugs such as ecstasy and cannabis. Ahead of the meeting he told the BBC: “We have regulations which are 50 years old, have never been reviewed and they are holding us back, they’re stopping us doing the science and I think it’s a disgrace actually.” A Home Office spokesman said: “Our licensing regime enables legitimate research to take place while ensuring that harmful drugs don’t get into the hands of criminals. “We have no evidence to suggest that the current listing of psilocybin as a schedule one substance is a barrier to attracting funding for legitimate research.”

Your Party and Greens the way forward.  Blow for Labour and Tories as Reform hits new high in poll Nigel Farage’s party continues to climb in popularity, with no sign of Kemi Badenoch’s fortunes changing at the Conservatives’ conference Reform UK has hit a new high in the polls, as the Tory conference shows no sign of turning the party’s fortunes around. More in Common’s new poll, released on Wednesday, shows Reform up to a new high of 33%, gaining three points in just over a week. Labour is static on 20% and the Tories are down one point to just 19%. The Lib Dems, Greens and SNP are stationary on 14%, 8% and 3% respectively. More in Common also polled voters for their perception of party leaders, and found that both Sir Keir Starmer and Kemi Badenoch have sunk to new lows. Sir Keir has reached a new approval rating of -49, while Mrs Badenoch has also sunk to -32. In September, YouGov published its first MRP mega poll since June, confirming that Nigel Farage is on course to be Britain’s next prime minister. MRP polls are much more accurate than other polls, with a sample size of 13,000 compared to the usual 2,000. It allows the pollster to dig into the details and make accurate seat-by-seat forecasts. On Wednesday, YouGov forecast that Mr Farage is on course to be prime minister, though he could still fall short of an overall majority. The reputable pollster reported that Reform would win 311 seats if the election were called now, just 14 shy of an overall majority. This is a big improvement since its last MRP poll three months ago, when Mr Farage was set to fall 55 seats short of a majority. By contrast, Labour has fallen back further, and would now win just 144 seats, 34 seats fewer than YouGov forecast in its last MRP.

ANALYSIS: Britain’s national debt has risen by over £186 billion since Labour came into power The UK’s national debt has increased by over £186 billion between July 2024 and July 2025. The national debt now sits at £2.71 trillion, up from £2.53 trillion at the end of last July. This increase represents an £6,510 increase in debt per household, following figures out today (21 August) from the Office for National Statistics. Britain’s national debt has ballooned by over £186 billion in just one year, new analysis of figures out today (21 August) from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) by the TaxPayers’ Alliance (TPA) reveals. The TPA has been campaigning on bringing down the national debt since July 2024, when it launched a digital debt clock, which currently shows the national debt increasing by £4,956 per second and £428 million per day. From the end of July 2024 to the end of July 2025, the debt rocketed from £2.53 trillion to £2.71 trillion meaning the current Labour government has racked up £186.2 billion in borrowing in just 12 months. The increase in the last year’s debt alone represents: A £6,510 increase in debt per household A £5,880 increase in debt per taxpayer A £2,726 Increase in debt per person If it were a government department, the additional debt taken on this year would be the third largest in terms of total spending after the Department for Work and Pensions and the Department for Health and Social Care. Unless drastic action is taken at the autumn budget, this situation is likely to deteriorate further. The NIESR has warned that there is a £41 billion black hole in the public finances, with this rising to over £50 billion once the chancellor’s pledge to maintain almost £10 billion worth of fiscal head room is taken into account. The TaxPayers’ Alliance is urging Rachel Reeves to get spending under control and bring down borrowing before Britain’s debt spiral does even more damage Responding, Darwin Friend, head of research of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “The fundamental truth is that Britain has a borrowing problem because politicians have a chronic spending addiction. “In just one year, Labour have splurged hundreds of billions they don’t have, piling yet more debt onto taxpayers’ backs. “Ministers must slam the brakes on this reckless debt binge because if the government doesn’t get Britain’s financial house in order it will be ordinary taxpayers that suffer.”

Bristol City Council secrecy – second enforcement notice.  Bristol City Council hit with second enforcement notice after secrecy concerns resurface This is the second time a regulator has recently ordered the council to improve its transparency Bristol City Council has been hit with a second enforcement notice due to its ongoing lack of transparency. The Information Commissioner’s Office has ordered the council to get better at responding to subject access requests. Anybody has the legal right to ask a public organisation, such as a council, to send them information they hold about them. While responding to these requests is onerous, public organisations have to respond by law, in a similar way to freedom of information requests. But in Bristol, people are often made to wait much longer than the legal deadline. Now the Information Commissioner, a regulator, has wrapped the council on its knuckles for failing to respond to subject access requests. Sally-Anne Pool, head of investigations at the ICO, said: “Subject access requests are a fundamental right that allows people to know what information organisations hold about them and how it is being used. Despite our repeated engagement with Bristol City Council over a sustained period of time, limited progress has been made to clear a backlog of requests. “Our investigation has found that the council’s approach towards compliance demonstrates a poor organisational attitude towards data rights and compliance with the law. This enforcement notice requires them to clear their SAR backlog in a timely manner, and make lasting improvements to bring their practices in line with the law.” Earlier this year, a judge threw out an unprecedented appeal in a similar situation. The Information Commissioner hit the council with an enforcement notice due to its poor performance responding to freedom of information requests. The council then appealed this notice, with the case ending up in front of a tribunal. This latest enforcement notice requires the council to contact all people with overdue subject access requests, to notify them of delays; give weekly progress updates to the ICO until all overdue requests are resolved; create and share an action plan within 90 days to address the backlog; and provide outstanding responses to requests within set deadlines.

Police beat ‘terrorist’ 2-1 on Manchester synagogue casualties – Synagogue attack – original lie about police shooting two attendees by mistake and killing one of them. Armed police who shot synagogue terror victims, killing one and injuring another, could face criminal charges Greater Manchester Police (GMP) admitted one of the victims of Thursday’s attack died after apparently being injured by a police gunshot. His family tonight described him as a hero. Another person was also injured as police sought to contain the terror threat. It is believed both victims were standing behind a door at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall when they were hit. Al-Shamie, 35, was shot dead at the scene wearing what appeared to be a suicide vest. The device was later discovered not to be viable. But police do not believe Al-Shamie was armed, meaning the two gunshot injuries were likely from police firearms. In a statement, Emily Barry, director of engagement at the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), said the watchdog would now investigate. She said: ‘Our thoughts remain with the victims and their families, as well as all those affected by yesterday’s horrific events. ‘As is standard when there has been a fatal police shooting, we are carrying out an independent investigation to establish the facts of what happened, and our findings will be shared with the coroner in due course. ‘IOPC investigators attended the police post-incident procedures and were at the scene last night gathering evidence. We will be present at the post-mortems today to provide independent oversight. ‘It is important in these circumstances that the police are able to continue their vital work, and there are established protocols we follow to ensure our role does not hinder their ability to conduct enquiries as part of their own investigations. ‘We will share further information when we are in a position to do so.’ Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66, died after Al-Shamie drove into a group of people before stabbing a man. The terrorist was shot dead by police seven minutes after officers were alerted to the attack, which took place on Yom Kippur, Judaism’s holiest day. In a tribute Mr Daulby’s family described him as ‘a hero’ who ‘tragically lost his life in the act of courage to save others’ They said: ‘Adrian was one of the brave worshippers attending the synagogue at the time of incident and prevented the attacker from gaining access to the premises. ‘It is currently believed that Adrian’s injury may sadly have been sustained as a tragic and unforeseen consequence of the urgently required action taken by our officers to bring a vicious attack to an end.’ Yoni Finlay, who is being treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, was holding the doors of the synagogue closed to stop the attacker entering when he was injured during gunfire by police, the BBC reported. Arnold Saunders, a rabbi and Conservative councillor, said Mr Finlay was now ‘stable’ in hospital and ‘out of the woods’.

Hounslow Al Furqan imam stabbed in ‘unprovoked’ attack An imam at a west London mosque is in hospital after allegedly being stabbed in an unprovoked attack. Police were called to a hospital where a man in his 30s arrived with a knife wound on September 22. He self-presented after the attack in the Hounslow area of London. Al Furqan Education Trust, a charity and community centre in Hounslow, has identified the victim as Imam Sheikh Mohamed Yusuf. The trust said the religious leader was “the victim of an unprovoked stabbing” in a “deeply distressing incident”. It added that the motive for the attack “remains unknown”, with police adding that it is keeping an open mind as it investigates. There have been no arrests. A spokesperson for the Al Furqan Education Trust, Hounslow, posted to X: “Our community experienced a deeply distressing incident involving our Imam, Imam Yusuf, who was the victim of an unprovoked stabbing. “Alhamdulillah’s, he is currently in a stable condition in hospital and receiving the appropriate care. “This matter is now the subject of an active police investigation. American experts from Oregon Health & Science University say that the human eggs made from skin cells are ready for fertilisation. When the team fertilised the egg with sperm, it began growing into an embryo, until the experiment was halted at six days – the point at which an embryo would be transferred to the womb in IVF. Top military brass intensifies Germany’s war preparations against Russia – With the appointment of Lieutenant General Christian Freuding as the new Inspector of the Army, the highest-ranking officer of the military brass, the German government has taken another step in its aggressive rearmament and war preparations. Defence Minister Boris Pistorius (Social Democratic Party, SPD) praised Freuding as the “general of the new era” and the “head of German Ukraine policy.” Freuding represents a new generation of officers who are not merely ready but eager to wage war. Concerns were raised regarding Ridley’s condition after it was reported she was being subject to “aggressive” and “intimidating” treatment, was without medication and had joined a number of other activists in going on hunger strike in protest. Ridley, who is originally from the north east of England but is based in Scotland, is a founding member of the Alba Party. She is also an award-winning journalist who made headlines in 2001 when she was captured by the Taliban and held for 11 days after entering Afghanistan without a visa. Ridley was deported from Israel on Tuesday along with 130 other activists to Jordan. The National understands Ridley flew to Istanbul in Turkey before flying to Libya with the rest of the Omar Al Mokhtar crew who were released on Saturday. She flew to Libya on a private jet belonging to the Libyan government. It is understood the flotilla participants will receive a special welcome from the government upon their arrival. “I mean, could you imagine Keir Starmer sending a private jet to get me out? It really puts it into perspective how some countries treat their citizens,” she told The National. For Dugin, the break with modernity is accomplished through an ethno-religious apocalypse – a return to orthodoxy, and an activation of a mystical eschaton beyond time. Land imagines the break from liberal modernity will be accomplished through an accelerating techno-capitalism, superseding humanity itself. Despite these differences, both figures reject modernity as ending in the nightmare of cultural Marxism.

The last 5 incidents, we’re people who lived for decades in that country without even a parking ticket, then out of a sudden they decide to go kill people? In a timing that just serves Israel best? It’s just weird man. And the problem is that we know that MOSSAD did false flag operation in 2013-2015 sinai and in syria. The way it works is like this. There are real extremists and people who subscribe to ISIS worldview or consider themselves as ISIS members. So what happens is that these intelligence agencies like Mossad find out about these guys. And what they do either through spies or informants, they nudge these guys to carry out an attack. Sometimes, they’ll all but orchestrate the whole thing as well. Giving info on the location, where to hit, when to hit, etc. So their spy will pretend to also be an ISIS member, and he will go to this guy prodding him to carry out the attack, as well as providing him with the weapon. This isn’t conspiracy either. There are a ton of news stories where you read about how an entire terror plot was orchestrated by intelligence agencies, only for them to swoop in at the end and arrest the extremists. They found out about some guy who wanted to carry out an attack. So they approached him, provided him with the plans, the needed weapons, etc. Everything from A to Z was guided by the intelligence branch, and then they arrested him, and on the news, it’s MAJOR TERROR PLOT FOILED. In some cases, they even approached people who didn’t even want to carry out an attack. They were just expressing extremist views. And so intelligence agencies got in contact with them and convinced them to actually carry out an attack, and then again provided them with everything they needed only for them to arrest the person at the end. And again, in the news, it was EXTREMIST PLOT FOILED! So it’s very easy for them to do this stuff and when they don’t want to. All they do is sit back and allow it to happen. Video shared on social media showed armed police officers pointing guns at a man laying on the ground as one screamed to onlookers: ‘Everybody else, get back. If you’re not involved, move back, get away… he has a bomb, go away.’ The man on the ground was seen starting to get up before a gunshot sounded and he fell back down. At one point, the camera panned around to show a victim lying motionless outside the synagogue gates with blood around their head. A street on White House Avenue – around a quarter of a mile from the synagogue on Middleton Road – saw intense police activity this afternoon, with two men seen being led away in handcuffs. He also censured the Western countries for initiating the illegal snapback procedure despite being themselves “serial violators” of Security Council Resolution 2231, which endorsed the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The Western states claim to be open to diplomacy, but they “forfeited a diplomatic solution” by activating the snapback, he added. “So we’ll be leaving in two parallel realities because for some, ‘snapback’ happened.
