Part One – Local and National News Review

Melissa Topping and Katie Sullivan, disabled women affected by new Barton Hill ‘Liveable Cites’ scheme, join Tony and Martin. Melissa and Katie describe how the new ‘Liveable Cities’ LTN scheme has adversely affected their lives as disabled ladies, how there wasn’t adequate consultation prior to implementing it at 3am, and how buses just aren’t up to the job. Does Bristol Clean Air Zone work? Carbon trading. Capitalist vs government solutions to environmental problems. Melissa’s and Susan’s statement in Council about new ‘Liveable Cities’ scheme in Barton Hill. Scheme breaches Equality Act. ‘Locked in and blocked in’ by ‘unliveable neighbourhood’ – A Barton Hill resident claims that her independence has been taken away due to the new infrastructure installed around her home as part of the East Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood trial. Melissa Topping suffers from multiple disabilities which have severely affected her over the years. Since 2010, she has been using a wheelchair and mobility scooter to access areas that she cannot on foot. A keen traveller, Melissa, 55, often loads her wheelchair and mobility scooter in her customised van to visit areas that she would not be able to otherwise. Avonvale Road used to be the entry point for Melissa Topping’s van to reach her home at the other end of Victoria Avenue – photo: Karen Johnson A new bus gate on Avonvale Road, however, now limits Melissa’s access to her own home on Victoria Avenue. While other traffic could divert through Byron Street, Melissa says it is too risky for her large van to be driven through the narrow street as it could hit parked cars. On a recent morning, Melissa told Bristol24/7 that her van “is everything to me”. She said: “Being able to get away with a little bit of independence, even if that is just occasionally, that’s everything. That’s the only thing that’s brought me out of severe depression with being disabled.” Melissa claims that the new liveable neighbourhood infrastructure means that larger emergency service vehicles, or any trader with a larger van, cannot access several roads across Barton Hill, Redfield and St George. But Bristol City Council say “the whole area will be accessible by emergency services although some routes may change depending on the location of modal filters” and that their team “will continue to engage with emergency services on the detailed design of the trial scheme”. Bristol24/7 has seen photos of paramedics parking their ambulances and running to where they need to get to, then running back and forth to their vehicle to retrieve equipment. We have also been sent a message from one firefighter who lives within the EBLN trial area saying “the blocked off roads could actually impact response times where seconds/minutes are the difference between rescuing someone or not”. The firefighter added: “I appreciate we can go a different route (when we eventually understand all the closures), but the amount of traffic to navigate will slow the response time.” The council’s FAQs also say that trade and delivery vehicles “can still access the whole area by car although their route may change,” with the liveable neighbourhood aiming “to share space between everyone, while preserving car access”. In order to access Victoria Avenue in her van, Melissa now drives around to Church Road, passes through Cobden Street and then reverses into her parking space. Melissa says this longer route means she has to endure extra pain due to her disabilities. “I can’t get down the safe clear entrance that I would normally use,” Melissa said. “They’ve also got a locked metal pole halfway down because they know that Byron Street is not accessible by emergency vehicles. So they’ve left that so that other vehicles can use the streets further up, but of course I can’t. “The anxiety isn’t really needed on top of everything else if I’m honest. Life’s hard enough already. To have all these barriers put in our way, it is unfair. Especially without any consultation whatsoever with disability groups or elders in the area.” A consultation on the EBLN opened in January 2022, with Bristol City Council now starting to plan a second liveable neighbourhood trial in Southville, Bedminster, Ashton Vale, Malago Vale, Windmill Hill and part of Totterdown. Almost 6,000 people have now signed a petition to stop the EBLN trial, with Melissa saying she is not the only person in the area with a large vehicle who has to deal with the “maze” that has been created: “We are now locked in, blocked in with no services, no repairs to our houses, no scaffolding, nothing.”

Election for new WECA Metro Mayor. The candidates say why they would be good. Mary Page, Green. Helen Godwin, Labour. Steve Smith, Conservative. Oli Henman, Lib Dem. Ian Scott, Independent. Arron Banks, Reform. Race to be West of England Metro Mayor kicks off — with six candidates to chose from Six people are standing for the role – and they had their first chance to plea for your vote The candidates for West of England Metro Mayor Arron Banks (Reform UK), Steve Smith (Conservative), Helen Godwin (Labour), Mary Page (Green), Oli Henman (Liberal Democrat), and Ian Scott (Independent) The race to be elected the next Metro Mayor for the West of England has kicked off today (April 3). All six candidates for the role appeared together at the West of England Combined Authority headquarters in Bristol, as campaigning kicks off for the election on Thursday May 1. The mayor is responsible for improving transport across the region and attracting and delivering major investment — and the role is only set to become more powerful under the Labour government’s “English Devolution” plans. Speaking to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, Conservative candidate and former Bristol City councillor Steve Smith said he would stop funding for more controversial liveable neighbourhoods in Bath and Bristol. Meanwhile Liberal Democrat candidate Oli Henman, who is a councillor on Bath and North East Somerset Council, said the Liberal Democrats were the only party who could “bring everyone together” and come up with a joint plan in the region. Green candidate Mary Page said it was not hypocritical to run for Metro Mayor after successfully campaigning to scrap Bristol’s elected mayor, who ran the city council. She said the Mayor of Bristol, who was directly elected, was a “dictatorial” role while the Metro Mayor role was about bringing people together. Brexit campaign donor and now Reform UK candidate Arron Banks stood by his 2017 comments describing Bristol as a “little Somalia.” He then blamed Somalians and Romanians for crime in the city. He also said that the role had very little power and there wasn’t much that whoever won could get done. Labour candidate Helen Godwin said she wanted to “get the buses sorted first,” and would not take anything off the table in terms of a mass transport network. But longtime Labour South Gloucestershire councillor Ian Scott, who is standing as an independent candidate after repeatedly not being selected as Labour’s Metro Mayor candidate, said he had more experience than her. He said he was not going to make any commitments before being elected. Current Labour mayor Dan Norris was elected in 2021 but since the 2024 general election he has also been the MP for North East Somerset and Hanham. Under Labour Party policy, he is not running for re-election as mayor. The full list of candidates is: Arron Banks (Reform UK) Helen Godwin (Labour) Oli Henman (Liberal Democrat) Mary Page (Green) Ian Scott (Independent) Steve Smith (Conservative)

Bills going up from April 1st. Rachel Reeves cuts to disabled benefits. Household bills rise for millions from today as ‘awful April’ hikes come into effect Tuesday 1 April 2025 A host of bills are rising from April 1, as ITV News North of England correspondent Rachel Townsend reports Millions of households across the country are facing rising bills across the board from today, in what’s being dubbed “awful April”. The annual bill for a household using a typical amount of gas and electricity is going up to £1,849 per year, an increase of £111, as Ofgem’s latest energy price cap takes effect. Water bills for households are also going up in England and Wales by £10 more per month on average, though it varies depending on the company. Meanwhile, most councils in England will hike tax by the maximum amount allowed, which is 4.99%, and on April 6 the rate of employer NICs will increase from 13.8% to 15%. Opposition critics have claimed families will be up to £3,536 worse off over the course of this Parliament as a result of what they call the government’s “jobs tax”. Raegan Furness, a full-time carer for her two disabled children, told Good Morning Britain she runs out of money by halfway through the month and urged energy companies not to push her family “beyond the edge”. “I don’t know where the (extra money) is gonna come from,” she said. “What am I gonna take from my children, what can I take from the home in order to give them energy companies that make billions in profit just to pay my bills? “They shouldn’t be forcing families like mine and children like mine – over the edge – beyond poverty.” Raegan Furness told Good Morning Britain she’s constantly running out of money An increase to the national living wage also comes into effect from today, which Labour insists will “give workers more money in their pockets” despite the hikes. Those eligible aged 21 and over will get a 6.7% pay increase, from £11.44 to £12.21 per hour, while 18 to 20-year-olds will receive an uplift of £1.40, from £8.60 to £10 per hour, under the changes. Angela Rayner, who is also overseeing Labour’s plans to upgrade workers’ right, said: “This pay rise for over three million of the lowest-paid workers was a priority for this government and means we’re already giving hardworking people more money in their pockets, and a proper wage increase worth over twice the rate of inflation. “These changes are part of our plan for change – to raise living standards for people across the country, including apprentices and young people, giving them more job security and the huge pay boost they deserve too.”

Bristol Disability Benefit Cuts Demo – Martin Cavanagh, President of PCS Union, gives a speech. New ‘Crips Against Cuts’ disabled campaign mounts nationwide DWP protests – but they weren’t without incident Chronically ill and disabled activists and allies took to the streets on Saturday 22 March against the Labour Party’s planned brutal cuts to their benefits. Protesters mobilised across the country in 14 locations to call out the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) disgraceful move to slash social security for sick and disabled people to meet chancellor Rachel Reeves’ arbitrary self-imposed fiscal savings. The demonstrations kicked off the start of chronically ill and disabled resistance to the government’s dangerous austerity-driven punch downs on the community. However, the protests weren’t without issue or incident. Most alarmingly, protesters were met with violent physical hate crimes at one protest – showing the unsafe and hostile climate Labour’s plans and rhetoric has stoked. In London, a small group of protesters gathered at Southbank along the River Thames holding placards and giving powerful speeches against the cuts: One disabled protester called the corporate media’s recent attacks on Personal Independence Payment (PIP) claimants’ access to the Motability scheme out for what it is: Exeter activists held a die-in to represent the deaths of chronically ill and disabled people that Labour’s cuts will foment: Sheffield drew a sizeable crowd with some poignant and on-point placards: Labour MPs didn’t have the balls to face protesters Protesters in Cambridge pitched up outside a local Jobcentre with a big banner. They followed this up by draping the banner over a local bridge in defiance against Labour’s plans: In Edinburgh, campaigners took their protest right to the constituency office front door of Labour Secretary of State for Scotland Ian Murray MP: Local media site the Edinburgh Reporter was on the ground interviewing protesters who spelled out what the cuts would mean for them and their loved ones: However, as the outlet noted, while Murray was in Edinburgh, he clearly didn’t have the balls to look his constituents in the face outside his office. Green Party co-leader Carla Denyer on the ground, but… Meanwhile, activists gathered together on College Green in Bristol to host speeches: As the Canary highlighted ahead of the protests, Bristol Central MP and Green Party leader Carla Denyer came out in support of chronically ill and disabled people fighting the cuts: Though, a word of caution might be warranted here. This is the same Denyer who also voted for Kim Leadbeater’s assisted dying bill at second reading, alongside her Green Party colleagues. All 350 Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisations (DDPOs) are against it due to the enormous risks it poses to chronically ill and disabled folks. So, while she may be an ally in opposing these cuts, protesters should be wary of thinking that she’s genuinely listening to the valid concerns and fears of our communities. The widespread protests show the depth of opposition to Labour’s callous plans from chronically ill and disabled people across the country. PCS national president Martin Cavanagh gave a speech at the Bristol demo: Throughout, he appealed to ‘class solidarity’ and argued that: Those who need support are somehow the problem. Those who need support are somehow the cause of all our ills in the UK. Well we all know that is a damn right lie. And every single one of us has a duty and responsibility to call it out. And comrades, what I find particularly disturbing, is that my background is DWP – clearly I’ve been evil in a previous life. But absolutely we understood and we knew back in the 1980s when I first started, that you absolutely on day one learned that anyone who came through that door, whether they were sick, had a disability, or just couldn’t find work, your job was to support them. Give them the financial leg up that they needed, when they needed it. And you were absolutely told that they shouldn’t leave that building until you’ve done everything you could to help them. And how quickly times changed.

Matt O’Branain went to Jeremy Corbyn conference ‘We Demand Change’ in London, and gives a report. Follow Matt on X or Instagram. Lively conference, unclear plans – We demand change The SWP-organised Summit of Resistance (“We Demand Change”) on 29 March in East London was an impressive size. The organisers claimed 2,000 on site, which seems accurate, plus another 1,000 online. The crowd was not as uniformly old as at some events put on by the left. Jeremy Corbyn spoke at the event. He offered no support for the various electoral ambitions of the SWP, Feinstein, and the Greens. Rather, he projected the gathering as a meeting of campaigns offering mutual solidarity (which is what the publicity for the event promised). Artin Giles, speaking for Corbyn’s Peace and Justice project, insisted that the “We Demand Change” groups promised around the country should be to “build campaigns”, not to launch a new electoral bloc. Andrew Feinstein spoke from the platform twice, and his involvement here was one signal of what is intended. Previously he has been in lockstep with Corbyn in that electoral activity should be based on groups built locally rather than as part of an overarching national project and, in the St. Pancras and Holborn constituency where he ran against Starmer in 2024, has been using Assemble’s model of people’s assemblies. That sounds plausibly democratic, but they are unlikely to be a month-in-month-out panacea without being linked to working-class struggle. In normal times the “assemblies” are likely to be populated by a narrow layer of activists. Feinstein may have moved away from Corbyn. He has been in talks with the SWP about what comes after this event, and may have reached an agreement on We Demand Change being an umbrella for a move towards common electoral work. The lack of clearly-announced plans and debate meant that, as with the Owl of Minerva spreading her wings and bringing knowledge only at dusk, it was the last speaker in the final plenary who announced “the” plan. SWP national secretary Lewis Nielsen took that speech (as a Stand up to Racism office-holder rather than as SWP, although it is unclear when and how SutR agreed the policy he announced). He announced (it had not been discussed during the day) that We Demand Change would be holding more of these summits across the country with a view to setting up campaigning bodies. These will “build the resistance [and] a new politics” with a plan to mount “a socialist challenge to Labour in May 2026”, meaning an electoral challenge in next year’s local government elections. What this means for SutR’s “don’t vote for racists” policy (which generally implies voting Labour to defeat Reform), or for their declared united front with all labour movement bodies, who knows.

The End Of Globalisation: Liberation Day?Trump ripping up trade agreements. Free trade. Nationalism vs globalism. Trump’s new trade tariffs – a disaster or a change? Emily Sheffield, former Editor of Evening Standard, on BBC QT, gives a case for Trump’s tariffs. Audience guy QT – at least Trump has a plan. Trump Says America Will Win ‘Economic Revolution,’ Promises ‘Historic’ Result President Donald Trump said that the United States is in the midst of an “economic revolution” and urged Americans to “hang tough” for a “historic” result. Trump’s comments came in a Truth Social post on Saturday, just days after he announced his worldwide reciprocal tariffs aimed at offsetting trade imbalances the United States has with other nations. “China has been hit much harder than the USA, not even close. They, and many other nations, have treated us unsustainably badly. We have been the dumb and helpless ‘whipping post,’ but not any longer,” Trump wrote. Notable tariffs Trump announced on Wednesday that are set to take effect on April 9 include a 34-percent discounted reciprocal tariff on China, a 20-percent tariff on the European Union, and a 46-percent tariff on Vietnam. “We are bringing back jobs and businesses like never before. Already, more than FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS OF INVESTMENT, and rising fast!” he added. A number of major companies have announced massive investments into the United States since Trump returned to office, which he says have been driven by his tariff policies. Stargate, a joint project among OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank, is investing $500 billion in America. Apple also announced a $500 billion investment, while other examples include Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s (TSMC) announcement of a $100 billion investment and Hyundai’s announcement of a $20 billion investment. Last week, Trump signed an executive order to expedite investments of over $1 billion. In his post on Saturday, Trump urged Americans to “hang tough” amid the economic realignment, which he says will not “be easy” but will produce a “historic” result. “THIS IS AN ECONOMIC REVOLUTION, AND WE WILL WIN. HANG TOUGH, it won’t be easy, but the end result will be historic. We will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” Trump added. While Trump’s reciprocal tariffs on dozens of countries are set to take effect on April 9, his baseline tariffs on many other nations took effect after midnight on Saturday. His move is already yielding results, as he announced Friday that Vietnam offered to cut tariffs on America to zero if it can reach a deal with the United States.

King Charles convenes unconstitutional meeting of top UK and French nuclear military brass in Windsor Castle with top European military story. King meets with UK and French military top brass at Windsor Charles, head of the armed forces, held an audience with the Joint Chiefs of Staff from both countries in the castle’s White Drawing Room on Monday. Laura Elston Monday 24 March 2025 The King has met with the UK and France’s top military leaders at Windsor Castle. Charles, who is head of the British armed forces, held an audience with the joint chiefs of staff from both countries on Monday afternoon. He welcomed the 10 guests including Chief of the Defence Staff Admiral Sir Tony Radakin and his French counterpart General Thierry Burkhard to the royal residence’s White Drawing Room in Berkshire, where they posed for a group photo. The meeting came as Western military planning to enforce a potential ceasefire in Ukraine intensified in London, with discussions between the British and French military chiefs. Sir Tony, the head of the UK’s armed forces, said Europe’s two nuclear powers were “stepping up to forge a stronger and deeper partnership”. Alongside the heads of each nation’s army, navy and air force, Sir Tony and General Burkhard have discussed efforts to “galvanise” the European response to the situation in Ukraine – while Ukrainian, Russian and American officials attended talks in Saudi Arabia aimed at achieving a ceasefire. Also at Windsor with the King were Vice Chief of the Defence Staff General Dame Sharon Nesmith, First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Sir Ben Key, Chief of the General Staff General Sir Roly Walker and Air Marshal Allan Marshall. And from the French forces were French Army Chief of Staff General Pierre Schill, French Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Nicolas Vaujour, Chief of Staff of the French Air and Space Force General Jerome Bellanger, along with General Stephane Abrial.

Dr Chris Busby shows weapons used in Gaza contain nuclear materials. I think, from the responses, its not clear what this picture means. So I explain simply. I thought it was clear. But maybe not. What I did is take the soil sample from close to the bomb impact site collected with a car vacuum cleaner by colleagues in Beirut. The samples were very hard to get as going near the site was forbidden. When they went there, they found the site was slightly radioactive still 6 weeks after the bomb (300 vs 100nSv/h). The samples were hidden in a bag of coffee and taken out to France by a passenger on a flight. In France the coffee was posted to me (it was good coffee). I examined it for gamma and beta radiation, no differences, then spread it thinly on a plastic dish of 9cm diameter. I placed a piece of plastic the size of a microscope slide on it, covered the dish with a plastic cover, placed it all in a closed glass vessel and left it for 30 days. The radioactive alpha emitter elements present in the sample decayed in this period and the alpha particles from the decay hammered into the plastic causing molecular damage to the polymers. I took the slide out and put it in concentrated potassium hydroxide at 80 degrees for 4 hours which etched the surface preferentially where the alpha particles had hit, causing tracks. What you see is a bubble that is like a cross section of the track. So each bubble shows an alpha particle track towards the plastic surface. There are of course more tracks away from the surface. If there are a lot of them clustered together in the microscope picture, it means that they have the same source, that is, lots of tracks from the same point. This means the presence of a solid particle of some radioactive alpha emitter. There are only a certain number of these in the environment and we know what they are and how they decay, what their decay half life is. The track number and the exposure time point to Uranium particles of between 1 and 5 micrometres. As to what it means: first, if one of these particles is inside you, your cells receive the hits and damage you see in the picture. This is thousands of times more radiation dose than is modelled by the risk model that is currently used to protect the public which diluted the energy into kilograms of organs. Such particles never existed in evolution. Second we found accidentally that the particles become airborne and deposit on the opposite clean side of the slide. This means that they do this anyway in the environment, something I told the Royal Society in 2001 but which the denied on the basis of calculations. Third, it means that the Israelis are using Uranium bombs. (Could be special new Uranium bombs, we have to wait and see if this is one). Make no mistake, IAEA know about this new weapon and the Russians have the technology, as do the USA and probably Iran. Probably it is the warhead of Oreshnik. Thanks to you all to ask for more information. I sort of assume that its clear what is going on. The final thing is that this method is tedious but cheap. I don’t have money to pay laboratories. And we cant trust laboratories. For example, an original sample was obtained from one of the first soldiers sent to the bomb site. He smuggled it to Jihad who is a chemist, and President of the Lebanese Chemists association. Jihad posted it the a French laboratory for analysis. They told him it had a lot of Uranium and they were not prepared to say how much or what kind. Everyone is frightened in this game. He nevertheless made a report saying that Israel had used a Uranium bomb. Its on the web.

SHUT IT DOWN In April, Youth Demand will shut London down with swarming road-blocks day after day after day. Join us in our biggest civil disobedience campaign yet to force action from the criminal British government. In 2024, we built a national youth resistance organisation. We mobilised over a thousand people to pull off 60 actions, from blockading central London during the summer, plastering a picture from the Gaza genocide on a Picasso painting and shutting down five UK cities in November. In April we are bringing things to a whole new level. We will shut down genocidal ‘business as usual’ in London for a month straight. It’s time for every single person to be in resistance. 15 paramedics killed in Gaza. Tom Cheshire Sky Report – Aid is not getting in to Gaza and people are starving. Gaza ambulance ‘crushed’ by IDF as aid attacks increase Sky News analysis shows the deaths of 15 humanitarian workers whose bodies and ambulances were buried in the sand are part of an increasing pattern. Sky News analysis shows the deaths of 15 humanitarian workers whose bodies and ambulances were buried in the sand are part of an increasing pattern On Sunday, a mass grave containing the bodies of 15 first responders was unearthed in Gaza. Sky News investigates how their final moments unfolded. The group had disappeared during a rescue mission one week earlier. An ambulance belonging to the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) was on a rescue mission in the early hours of 23 March when it called for help, the NGO says, claiming it was under attack by Israeli forces. Three more ambulances were dispatched to assist them, along with a crew from the public sector organisation Civil Defence, but contact was soon lost with the group. Satellite imagery shows the area on 26 March, three days after they went missing. Tyre tracks are visible, as are groundworks likely created by military vehicles. The IDF says that its troops fired on the ambulances because they had not coordinated their movements with the military, and that their headlights and emergency signals were turned off. Speaking to Sky News, however, the director of ambulance and emergency services at PRCS Mohammed Abu Mosahba said that coordination was not required because they were not inside an evacuation zone. “[The first ambulance] moved into the area without coordination because it was a safe area and does not require coordination,” he said. The map below shows the location of the attack, in yellow. In red are the areas that the IDF had marked as evacuation zones in the days prior to the attack. In orange is a new evacuation order issued on the day of the attack, which includes the attack location. This evacuation order was first posted online by the IDF’s Arabic spokesman at 8.31am local time that day, around four hours after the incident began and almost an hour after PRCS first publicly said it had lost contact with the crew. Abu Mosahba says that after the first ambulance came under attack, PRCS did request coordination for the other three ambulances. Dr Mohammed Al Mughir, director of logistics at Civil Defence, also says that coordination was not required to move in the area until the evacuation order was issued, which he says was “more than three hours after our colleagues were killed”. He further disputes the IDF’s claim that the vehicles had their headlights, sirens and emergency lights switched off. “All vehicles had light signals, phosphorescent markings and features indicating that they were emergency vehicles,” he says. The lights from one of the ambulances were later discovered lying on top of the mass grave, marking its location. Partially buried alongside the bodies were all four ambulances, as well as a fire engine and a UN vehicle.

‘Blowing all the messengers’ brains out’. More journalists have been deliberately located, targeted and killed in 18 months in Gaza than in all wars, including world wars, for the last 120 years. Journalists killed in wars – Gaza the highest ever by far and in only 18 months – News Graveyards: How Dangers to War Reporters Endanger the World Since the 2000s, national governments and terrorist groups – from Israel, Syria’s Assad regime and the United States to the Islamic State – have found ways to curtail conflict coverage through myriad means, from repressive policies to armed attack. All have killed journalists and helped to foster a culture of impunity, turning conflict zones like Syria and Gaza into “news graveyards.” The war in Gaza has, since October 7, 2023, killed more journalists than the U.S. Civil War, World Wars I and II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War (including the conflicts in Cambodia and Laos), the wars in Yugoslavia in the 1990s and 2000s, and the post-9/11 war in Afghanistan, combined. It is, quite simply, the worst ever conflict for reporters. Worldwide, threats to journalists in conflict zones are increasing. In 2023, a journalist or media worker was, on average, killed or murdered every four days. In 2024, it was once every three days. Most reporters harmed or killed, as is the case in Gaza, are local journalists. Not only do local reporters face great risk, standing alone in the face of extraordinary violence; this also impairs news coverage and, as a result, the worldwide information ecosystem. The decreasing number of experienced foreign correspondents in conflict zones, due to long term shifts in the global news industry that have led to the de-prioritization of international news coverage and the closure of foreign news bureaus, has likewise crippled critical knowledge and helped facilitate the creation of news graveyards. Reliable information about wars and conflicts is essential for the wellbeing of local populations and is necessary to enlighten the world on the forces behind wars and the toll on civilians.

Nationalism against EU law? EU Lawfare – Trump Syndrome comes to Brussels but French Nationalist leader does not have the influence or money Trump had to beat the globalists in the courts –  Sky report on Marine le Pen not being able to run for election. Marine Le Pen’s political career is in tatters after being found guilty of embezzlement The far-right leader, who had been the narrow favourite to win the 2027 French presidential election, will now be banned from running as part of a criminal conviction   Marine Le Pen’s political career lies in tatters. After decades of earning her ascent to the very pinnacle of French politics, she has now been pushed down the mountain, and her fall could be long and painful. The far-right leader, who had been the narrow favourite to win the 2027 French presidential election, will now be banned from running for public office for five years as part of a criminal conviction. Le Pen, along with politicians and assistants from her National Rally (RN) party, has been found guilty of embezzlement – of taking millions of euros that were supposed to support work in the European Parliament and instead funnelling it to the party’s work elsewhere. She will almost certainly appeal, but her ban has already come into effect. Le Pen left the court in Paris shortly before her punishment was announced, heading towards her party’s headquarters for a meeting with its president, Jordan Bardella – the man most likely to take her place. .

RT report – former Ukraine Security Service Officer on how Ukrainians are trying to get out of fighting and some in charge want the war to carry on. Ex-Ukrainian security officer says Zelensky okayed terror attacks on Russia According to Vasily Prozorov, the SBU organizes much more of these kinds of operations than the GUR, although the latter “is far ahead in terms of hyping its activities” MOSCOW, October 15. /TASS/. Vasily Prozorov, a former officer in Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) has told TASS that the SBU and the Ukrainian defense ministry’s main intelligence directorate (GUR) were behind terror attacks in Russia and that these attacks were greenlighted by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. Earlier, law enforcement told TASS that Russian investigators had charged in absentia SBU chief Vasily Malyuk for organizing a terror attack on the Crimean Bridge linking the Crimean Peninsula with mainland Russia in the summer 2023. The man was arrested in absentia and put on the wanted list as part of other terrorism cases. “Orders from the SBU chief regulate the service’s entire activities, including special operations. This means that the SBU chief puts his signature under the orders, endorses them. There is no way that Malyuk is unaware of the SBU’s high-profile acts, especially those committed outside Ukraine. He at least endorses the operational plans, signs the order sheets for resources. He knows about such operations. He reports on them to the country’s supreme leadership. Because, it is absolutely obvious that such actions, for instance, in Russia’s territory, cannot be organized without consent from Zelensky or his office head, as the SBU is controlled by them,” Prozorov said. That is why, in his words, any SBU operations in Russia’s territory must first get the okay from Malyuk, Zelensky, and Yermak. “So, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Malyuk is behind all the [SBU-sponsored] terror attacks, acts of sabotage, and murders in Russia, not only in its new territories,” he stressed.

Covid Plandemic What Did We Learn? Crimes Against Humanity Five Years On 1: Hedley Rees, Inside Pharma Substack, on how RFK has subscribed to his channel and has subsequently sacked Peter Marks after his investigation in to him. DISRUPTING THE PHARMA INDUSTRY? DO ME A FAVOUR… PLEASE SUSPEND JUDGEMENT UNTIL YOU’VE HEARD OUR CASE by Hedley Rees This is the title of Chapter 1 of the book. I had anticipated the incredulity and pushback from potential readers, with such a title as Taming the BIG PHARMA MONSTER. Who ever was going to believe that? When I wrote the book, it was through 2019, when people didn’t then quite see the need for disruption of the Big Pharma Business model. I’m hoping people do now, some six years later. A Bit About the Book Chapter 1 begins: “There aren’t too many people willing to countenance the potential disruption of the pharma industry. In fact, there is probably no-one who would give houseroom to the notion – but it’s possible. If this book achieves nothing other than convincing you of that, then we have a result on our hands. So, give your brain a quick swill, wash out your pre-conceived ideas, and sit back for a fascinating few hours.” Published 28th May 2019 In the section ‘SEPARATING FACT FROM FICTION’, I make this observation: “After reading this book, you will be able to separate fact from the various fictional accounts of what is going on in the industry. Pharmaceutical companies and their trade associations put forward their view of the world, as do various media outlets and professional communications agencies. The level of interest in the truth varies greatly, but one thing is certain – it is almost impossible to gain an objective view of the rights and wrongs of all that is going on. This book will correct that.

Covid Plandemic What Did We Learn? Crimes Against Humanity Five Years On 2: Dr. Bob Gill explains how to tell if your GP is any good or not – a couple of simple questions as a litmus test on what he learnt from the plandemic and the research Dr Aseem Malhotra has done in to mRNA jabs affecting the heart.  The Great NHS Heist: Exposing a crime against the nation Working as a General Practitioner in South-East England for over two decades, I have experienced the effects of the stealth ideological assault on the NHS. De-funding, outsourcing and marketisation has squandered billions, made my job harder and for my patients more frustrating with delays, fragmentation and in some cases preventable harm. The local Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup, had been downgraded with the closure of its A&E department, maternity unit, acute medical and surgical services. It rapidly became clear to me that bed capacity could not meet necessary demand and many patients were not getting timely and safe care. In 2012, on the back of these cuts, came the announcement of plans to downgrade another hospital just a few miles away in Lewisham, spurring me to join the campaign to defend this new target against a dangerous assault. How on earth did it make any sense to further reduce medical services with the population growing and need increasing? In the years leading up to making The Great NHS Heist, it became clear that fundamental information was being kept out of the public domain. The parliamentary system was broken. We had endured four decades of neoliberal policies supported, enacted but not explained by all three main political parties. Waiting for politicians to come to the rescue was wishful thinking. Mainstream media simply perpetuated public ignorance about what was really going on. Successive reforms went ahead without meaningful scrutiny, camouflaged in marketing spin and buzz words with consistent regurgitation and the spectacle parliamentary pantomime on our screens. Observing the narrow and shallow debate around health policy after learning much about the reality soon shattered any illusions of having an open democracy with a functional fourth estate. Having produced Sell Off in 2014 fellow campaigners persuaded me to produce another film to paint an updated picture of the future for the NHS and the trajectory to replicating the American corporate dominated nightmare. Our goal was to explain how far the NHS had been mutated from its original public service function and reveal the destination to be the US-style for-profit healthcare. A system designed to deliver grotesque profits by avoiding sick patients, denial of care, financial and bureaucratic barriers to access and outright fraud. With filmmaker Drew McFadyen and support from a core group of health campaigners, we embarked on producing this crowdfunded film. There have been many challenges not least to weave together analysis of the history, legislation, tactics and implications of the privatisation plan but we were determined to make a robust factual and engaging documentary. Experts from the UK and USA combined with NHS staff and patients provided powerful testimony to reveal the crime of the century.

Europe’s Economic Suicide? Micheal Hudson on The Crusades, The Great Schism of 1154 and declining power of Europe in the present day. Is the power network the Luciferian Illuminati, former Holy Roman Empire and European Aristocracy? Prof. Michael Hudson: Economic Collapse in Europe. Glenn Diesen – 26 Mar 2025 – Micheal Hudson is a renowned economist, here he addresses why Europe has set itself on a path to economic crisis and collapse. The Road to Chaos – A Global Balance of Payments War By Michael Hudson – Tuesday, January 28, 2025 Trump’s Balance-of-Payments War on Mexico, and the Whole World The 1940s saw a series of movies with Bing Crosby and Bob Hope, starting with the Road to Singapore in 1940. The plot was always similar. Bing and Bob, two fast-talking con men or song-and-dance partners, would find themselves in a scrape in some country, and Bing would get out of it by selling Bob as a slave (Morocco in 1942, where Bing promises to buy him back) or committing him to be sacrificed in some pagan ceremony, and so forth. Bob always goes along with the plan, and there’s always a happy Hollywood ending where they escape together – with Bing always getting the girl. In the past few years we have seen a series of similar diplomatic stagings with the United States and Germany (standing in for Europe as a whole). We could call it the Road to Chaos. The United States has sold out Germany by destroying Nord Stream, with Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholtz (the hapless Bob Hope character) going along with it, and with European Commission President Ursula von der Lehen playing the part of Dorothy Lamour (the girl, being Bing’s prize in the Hollywood Road movies) demanding that all Europe increase its NATO military spending beyond Biden’s demand for 2% to Trump’s escalation to 5%. To top matters, Europe is to impose sanctions on trade with Russia and China, obliging them to relocate their leading industries in the United States. So, unlike the movies, this will not end with the United States rushing in to save gullible Germany. Instead, Germany and Europe as a whole will become sacrificial offerings in our desperate but futile effort to save the US Empire. While Germany may not immediately end up with an emigrating and shrinking population like Ukraine, its industrial destruction is well under way. Trump told the Davos Economic Forum January 23: “My message to every business in the world is very simple: Come make your product in America and we will give you among the lowest taxes of any nation on earth.” Otherwise, if they continue to try and produce at home or in other countries, their products will be charged tariff rates at Trump’s threatened 20%. To Germany this means (my paraphrase): “Sorry your energy prices have quadrupled. Come to America and get them at almost as low a price as you were paying Russia before your elected leaders let us cut Nord Stream off.” The great question is how many other countries will be as quiescent as Germany as Trump changes the rules of the game – America’s Rules-Based Order. At what point will a critical mass be achieved that changes the world order as a whole? Can there be a Hollywood ending to the coming chaos? The answer is No, and that the key is to be found in the balance-of-payments effect of Trump’s threatened tariffs and trade sanctions. Neither Trump nor his economic advisors understand what damage their policy is threatening to cause by radically unbalancing the balance of payments and exchange rates throughout the world, making a financial rupture inevitable.

NOT The BCfm Politics Show CANCELLED and attempts to intimidate us

July 2024 – Tony, Dave and Martin’s NOT The BCfm Politics show was CANCELLED/EVICTED in a no fault, no notice, no appeal, eviction by The People’s Republic of Stokes Croft (PRSC) arts centre – An email from Chloe Slater and Keith Cowling explained that: ‘Transphobic’ leaflets had been left in the building by a recent guest (who denied it) making Transsexual users of the building feel ‘offended’ and ‘unsafe’. To quote: ‘Please let us know when you or Dave would like to come and retrieve your equipment and drop off your keys. Kind regards’ PRSC Directors (Keith Cowling, chair) PRSC / Stokes Croft China 17-35 Jamaica St Bristol BS2 8JP. Chloe Slater (formerly Jez and self-defined as ‘she’) also made it difficult for us to retrieve the last of our equipment by inferring we couldn’t be trusted, we were made to wait outside their building for over 30 minutes to return their mixing desk in December 2024.

October 2022 – Tony’s Public Enquiry Channel opened in March 2008, with 13 million views, over 1,600 videos and 26,000 subscribers is removed under false pretences by YouTube – A video Tony recorded in New Zealand ‘Bill Gates, ID2020 & Revelation: Quaker Tony Gosling on Covid 19 & the Bible’ and uploaded on 8th April 2020 got a ‘third strike’ but YouTube’s ‘medical misinformation’ regime was introduced in September 2021 so should not have included as ‘strikes’ videos uploaded before that date.  Documentary makers are just about the only public interest investigators left in the NATO zone. March 2020 – BCfm’s weekly Politics Show presented by Tony Gosling with Irish Republican Labour activist Martin Summers was forced off FM, now online only by station manager Pat Hart. He decided the show should be ‘rested, due to the pandemic’ on 24 March 2020 and then refused to communicate at all when we requested to do the show remotely. Bristol Community FM (BCfm) charity ‘CEO’ Patrick Hart is a longtime personal friend of Bristol’s all-powerful right-wing ‘Labour’ mayor Marvin Rees. Now on Internet only NOT The BCfm Politics Show is available 17:00-c. 21:00 live on Fridays. Pat Hart replaced us with an inane student show repeating MSM stories called The Bristol Agenda. If you’d like to share your views on his deliberate dumbing-down and pro-Covid jab mismanagement you can contact UK broadcasting regulator Ofcom or BCfm board chair and the ‘Don’ himself, here.

February 2019 – Ofcom complaint result: UKLFI exposed as creation of Israeli foreign ministryBristol Post article: BCfm cleared after being reported to Ofcom for anti-semitic conspiracy theories – It could have resulted in BCfm radio station being shut down if the complaint was upheld Tony Gosling reported to Ofcom by UK Lawyers for Israel after being accused of anti-semitism A Bristol radio station, which had one of its programmes reported for anti-semitism and racism has been cleared by Ofcom. The radio regulatory body received a complaint from “UK Lawyers for Israel’ over a show on BCfm radio, hosted by investigative journalist Tony Gosling. The weekly politics show, on the popular community radio station based in Easton, was reported for several allegations on a show which aired on November 23. Tony Gosling, who was a former BBC journalist between 1989 and 1993, has been producing and presenting ‘The Tony Gosling Politics’ show every week on BCFM radio for 11 years. They have released a statement which reads: “Whilst we are supportive of all our volunteer presenters, The Tony Gosling Politics Show only represents approximately ten percent of our political output content wise, and less than two per cent of our entire weekly output.” Mr Gosling’s programme looks at local politics and he interviews a range of councillors and MPs in the city. The show is also perhaps more well known for its alternative look at international politics, and he has a cult following online from across the world. Mr Gosling has made regular appearances on national media including the politics show with Andrew Neil on BBC One, and international channels such as Russia Today, Channel1 Russia, NTV, and recently for both Turkish and Lebanon TV.

November 2012 – Tony Gets death threats on the phone from the Jewish Defence League – ‘you’re a dead man walking’ – a man calls him and Tony records the call. Audio of UK Jewish Defence League (JDL) death threat against British journalist Tony Gosling (2012) – Avon and Somerset police Special Branch investigate, trace the caller, and after six months report to Tony that the individual has been served a caution that they will proceed with a prosecution for harassment under the 1861 offences against the person act. Seems pretty clear this death threat was issued alongside the lies, copied below, which were published on their blog by London based UK JDL in November 2012.  Firstly Tony Gosling is not a ‘homophobe’. That accusation was first made in an article published by the ‘Harry’s Place’ blog, penned by Zionist David Toube and propelled by him anonymously into Private Eye in 2008. It refers to Gosling’s criticism of senior teachers at Bannerman Road Primary school in Bristol who used homosexual early learning picture books against the express wishes of the parent governors. His criticism was about the deception by teaching staff not because of the homosexual content of the books. Secondly, if you follow the JDL link you’ll find what Tony Gosling actually says about the ‘Protocols Of The Learned Elders Of Zion’ says “…I don’t think there is much doubt that the Protocols are fake…” Thirdly he is not a member of Bristol Palestine Solidarity Campaign and has never been to any of their meetings.

Part One – Local and National News Review

Mal Sainsbury, former Labour Party member and social justice campaigner, joins Tony and Martin. Mal explains how  housing problems have changed in UK since the 1970s. Rent fixing. Right to Buy. How can housing problems in UK be improved? ‘Bristol desperately needs more council homes so why are we selling them off?’ By Zoe Peat Thursday Mar 20, 2025 In the Green-led administration’s recent council budget, the Greens, Liberal Democrats and Conservatives unanimously voted to sell off council housing schemes and scrap more than 2,000 new council homes that were set to be delivered in the next five years. During the budget meeting, three of my Labour colleagues – who are council tenants themselves – gave moving testimonies about how council housing had saved their lives. With Bristol in the grip of a housing crisis, keeping these homes in public ownership is essential. But alas, their words fell on deaf ears. According to the Local Government Association, the average age of a UK councillor is 60, with only 16 per cent under 45. Some of our older councillors in Bristol would have first bought their homes in the 1970s when they cost just £5,000. By the decade’s end, that figure had risen to £20,000: still an attainable sum for a working person. Today, £20,000 barely covers a house deposit, with the average home in Bristol costing £380,000. It’s not just property prices that have soared; rents have too. In 2020, as a student, I paid £475 a month (bills included). When I returned after the pandemic, I paid £650 (bills not included). Now, my partner and I live in a one-bedroom flat in Lawrence Weston, paying £1,150 a month in rent alone. For the same price in places like Thornbury or Bradley Stoke, we could afford a two-bedroom house. I’m not here to moan about the cost of my rent though. I am merely trying to demonstrate how the rental market has drastically changed in the last five years alone. I have been elected to represent Bristol, a city that I truly love. And the honest truth is that myself and many others are being priced out of our city. Now, I am very fortunate. I come from a two-income household, I have no children and other than my student loan I have no debts. I am not fleeing domestic abuse nor am I unable to work. However, this is not the case for many residents in Bristol. In March 2024, we had more than 1,500 households living in temporary accommodation and more than 800 people sleeping rough. Not only is this morally wrong; it costs the taxpayer more than £13m annually. If the council built the homes Bristol needs, we would save huge sums of money that could be invested into other vital services.

Al Jazeera report – Rachel Reeves’s Spring Statement – increase in defence spending and benefits cut. Will this work? I Paper article – shoved in to poverty Revealed: 800,000 to miss out on up to £4,500 in PIP after benefits cut The changes will mean 50,000 children pushed into poverty, an impact assessment finds Chloe Chaplain Senior Political Correspondent March 26, 2025 Welfare reforms will mean 800,000 people are blocked from receiving disability benefits, costing them an estimated £4,500 a year. An impact assessment on the cuts announced last week by Work and Pensions Secretary, Liz Kendall, said these changes would push 250,000 more people into poverty – including 50,000 children – by 2029 to 2030. Changes to out-of-work sickness benefits – which were toughened up in Wednesday’s statement – will lead to 2.25 million universal credit health element (UC Health) recipients losing £500 a year. A further 730,000 future claimants will be blocked from claiming at all, costing them £3,000 annually. But this modelling does not include the impact of the £1bn additional funding to support people with health conditions into work. Government insiders expect the employment support will mitigate the loss of income, and increase in poverty, by allowing people currently locked out of the workforce to earn an income. But this was not scored in the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) forecast. And Labour MPs, who were already uneasy about cuts announced last week, expressed anger on Wednesday after Chancellor Rachel Reeves was forced to go further in scaling back welfare by cutting UC further. MPs are receiving regular briefings with campaign groups aimed at spreading the word about the impact of the welfare cuts, The i Paper understands. Insiders believe the briefings could be crucial in developing the size and shape of a rebellion on PIP support when a vote comes to the Commons. Around 35 concerned MPs have been involved so far but it’s thought that could grow to around 50,” sources said. “There’s a nervousness from large parts of the party, and people very worried about what is happening. And this is from people who are super loyal, people who say they would die for the party. They’re saying ‘I’m a bit queasy about this’,” one MP said. But there is doubt as to how large a rebellion could actually be, with initial claims that up to 100 MPs could be prepared to vote against the government now diluted by rebel sources. One Labour source said they expect a rebellion to be smaller but said there are a “significant number of MPs very unhappy with this, excluding the usual suspects” government “.

RAF committing genocide in Cyprus, and vandalising Paddington Bear statue in Newbury… Bristol Elbit weapons manufacturers. Two RAF lads destroy Paddington Bear statue when drunk. Rachel Reeves on why she’s cutting benefits. Labour Party not what it used to be. Article 25 on basic human rights. Paddington vandals ‘antithesis’ of RAF royal service, says judge Two RAF engineers who broke a Paddington statue have been told by a judge they are the “antithesis” of everything the bear stands for. Daniel Heath and William Lawrence, both 22 and based at RAF Odiham in Hampshire, each admitted an offence of criminal damage at Reading Magistrates’ Court. The statue in Newbury, Berkshire, was damaged before being taken shortly after 02:00 GMT on 2 March. The pair, who committed the offence while drunk on a night out, have been ordered to carry out unpaid work and each pay £2,725 to cover the cost of repairs. Two young men both seen wearing suits. One has a flatcap covering part of his face and is also wearing sunglasses. The other’s face can be seen clearly. Daniel Heath is seen on the right in a blue suit with his face uncovered – William Lawrence is seen on the left with a grey suit and blue tie.On sentencing, district judge Sam Goozee said Paddington Bear was a “beloved cultural icon”. “He represents kindness, tolerance and promotes integration and acceptance in our society,” he said. “His famous label attached to his duffle coat says ‘please look after this bear’. “On the night of the 2nd of March 2025, your actions were the antithesis of everything Paddington stands for. “Your actions lacked respect and integrity, two values you should uphold as members of the armed forces.” The newly installed statue was stolen from a bench on 2 March CCTV footage was shown in court in which Heath, of Oakhall Park, Thornton, near Bradford in West Yorkshire, and Lawrence, of John Street, Enderby, Leicestershire, could be seen stopping by the Paddington Bear statue on Northbrook Street and attempting to lift it off the bench. The seam of the statue then broke off and the pair could be seen walking off with the broken half. The judge said the men then took it in a taxi back to RAF Odiham. Thames Valley Police confirmed the statue did appear for sale on Facebook marketplace, but did not investigate further as it was recovered from the boot of Lawrence’s car soon after.

Crispin Flintoff on how the workplace has changed in UK since late 1980s, and the waning influence of the Unions affecting this. Nationalise our facilities. China and Russia compared to UK. Finance capital vs industrial capital. Workplace morale decimated by Thatcher, privatisation, casualisation & weak unions – by Crispin Flintoff A month or so ago, I posted about how I have heard a few people in their 70s saying they are looking forward to dying as they find the state of the world so depressing. I put it down to the way Starmer has sucked all the hope out of us, but there is more to it than that. Many people have been struggling with depression or low spirits for a considerable time and I think I can trace why this is from personal experience. I feel more isolated than I have ever felt in my life. My social circle is very small. I don’t tend to make an effort with friends and family. And I have noticed that other people feel the same from posts I’ve been reading on here. I can trace how things changed for me back to 2010 when I was made redundant from my last permanent job. From my first job at Charing Cross Hospital in the 1980s, delivering medical equipment to wards and laboratories; to collecting trollies or working on the till at Sainsburys in the 1990s; or sub-editing really hard-going articles on the law, medicine or shipping in the 2000s: I loved the camaraderie of the workplace. We’d have tea breaks together, fag breaks, go to lunch or to the pub after work. Or we’d go to parties at each other’s houses. Some workplaces had social clubs – working men’s clubs – and people would feel a sense of belonging for their entire lives through their job. At the time, I didn’t realise that I was living the dream. But, since 2010, I’ve had no job security and none of the places I’ve worked at have kept me on for more than a six or nine month contract. And it’s felt like the other workers don’t want to know you once you’ve done your time. The end of job security has had a massive impact on people’s mental health. At the same time as job security has become a thing of the past, our social lives have started to revolve around communicating online – especially on social media or Whatsapp. People don’t bother ‘catching up’ with each other as much as they used to as I can just check someone’s Facebook posts or send a Whatsapp maybe with a couple of pictures. This situation was even more pronounced during lockdown. With lockdown, we became fearful of other people. On Sunday I spoke to someone who is still isolating and doesn’t go out if it is not essential. There are apparently two million people in this country who don’t feel safe enough to go out. And who can blame people for feeling scared when our world view is shaped by what we see on mainstream media and also on here – most of which is deliberately alarming click bait. Social media also produces a feeling of being ‘less than’. People filter their images and their lives to look as glamorous as possible and this can make people feel they are not good enough. This online culture also feeds personal attacks and cancel culture. People argue about who is right and wrong and put themselves into groups. They then reinforce their idea they are in some kind of tribe with only people they agree with. God knows how many friends I have lost through this. Bickering on social media divides us all and weakens any opposition we have to constant attacks being made on us by the government. What we call ‘the Left’ is in a terrible state at the moment because of this. We need to build real relationships again and build communities that have gone. Our spirit is being broken. I am sort of trying that with the Zoom show every Sunday morning and I’ve got a Curry on Comrades coming up at the end of April. These things keep me going!

Walk-in degrees, sham students and a giant university fraud scandal – Applicants are suspected of scamming taxpayers out of hundreds of millions of pounds for courses they don’t intend to take The Times article – student fraud loans. PBSA Student flats. Walk-in degrees, sham students and a giant university fraud scandal Applicants are suspected of scamming taxpayers out of hundreds of millions of pounds for courses they don’t intend to take Izzy Lyons Harry Yorke, Deputy Political Editor Saturday March 22 2025 Thousands of students are fraudulently claiming hundreds of millions of pounds from Britain’s university loan system. A Sunday Times investigation has discovered that individuals with “absolutely no academic intent” are enrolling on degree courses every year to take out loans, with “no intention of paying it back”. Officials fear there is “organised recruitment” of Romanian nationals in particular. The majority of students under scrutiny are believed to have enrolled at so-called franchised universities — which are small colleges paid to provide courses for established universities but often have low grade requirements. There are at least six franchised providers where fraudulent claims from students have been identified, it is understood. The investigation reviewed leaked financial documents and company accounts, and interviewed a dozen sources in the Student Loans Company (SLC), the Department for Education (DfE) and the Office for Students (OfS), as well as lecturers. It found: In 2022/23 the SLC identified 3,563 suspicious loan applications, totalling almost £60 million — but recent investigations, revealed in documents seen by The Sunday Times, point to far greater levels of potential fraud, with estimates that it could run to hundreds of millions of pounds. The SLC identified a number of franchised providers where students have claimed fraudulent loans, after it spotted suspicious applications involving fake documents and address duplication. Franchised colleges are enrolling students who cannot speak adequate English or accepting screenshots of Duolingo tests as proof of English proficiency. At some universities with franchised providers, between 35 and 55 per cent of applicants last year were Romanian. Some students who enrol on franchised courses drop out after receiving their first £4,000 maintenance loan then enrol again the following year to claim the money again, according to a university employee. One franchise college made £234 million in revenue last year and increased its profits by 1,266 per cent in three years. Writing for The Sunday Times, Bridget Phillipson, the education secretary, said the revelations “point to one of the biggest financial scandals in the history of our universities sector”. She announced that the Public Sector Fraud Authority, which sits under the Cabinet Office and the Treasury, will be given the job of investigating suspected exploitation of the student loan system. The UK’s student loan debt, which is underwritten by the taxpayer, has ballooned to £236 billion and is expected to reach £500 billion by the 2040s…

Meanwhile THE MOST MASSIVE profits are being made from student loan debts – PBSA investment hits £3.9bn Knight Frank’s quarterly review of the key development and investment themes in the UK student property market Nearly £575m was invested in the UK purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) market in the final quarter of 2024, taking annual investment to £3.87bn, according to the latest Student Market Update. Annual investment rose 14% in 2024, with year-on-year volumes rising from £3.39bn in 2023. But, while this pick-up in investment demonstrates the attractiveness of the PBSA market, volumes were less than anticipated in the fourth quarter. Merelina Sykes, joint head of student property at Knight Frank, said: “Deal times for stabilised assets are taking longer because of building safety regulations, which has pushed some transactions into early 2025. “That said, overall activity was still robust.” According to our latest report, 66 deals completed in 2024, putting the year comfortably above the five-year average of 57 transactions. With a lack of standing stock available in 2024, the year’s transaction landscape was defined by a particularly-liquid land market. Nearly 50% of deals completing in the fourth quarter were development sites, capping a record year for student land sales. Overall, 22 development site sales were completed over the course of the year, accounting for a third of deal volumes. Holly Lush-Thornton of Knight Frank Research, said: “PBSA developers have taken advantage of a quieter land market and softer pricing over the last 12 months, with some more-traditional market participants having taking a ‘wait-and-see’ approach given challenges around viability and private sales demand.” And the firm predicts investment momentum looks set to build in the year ahead. Sykes said: “Our team is tracking £1.3bn of transactions currently under offer”. PBSA developers have taken advantage of a quieter land market and softer pricing over the last 12 months, with some more-traditional market participants having taking a ‘wait-and-see’ approach given challenges around viability and private sales demand. “The majority of deals under offer are for stabilised or portfolio deals, reflecting the opportunity investors see in upgrading and repositioning existing stock.” And Lisa Attenborough, head of debt advisory at Knight Frank, added: “Interest rates are on their way down, and this will continue to have an impact on debt costs. “Financial markets are betting on two cuts to the Base Rate in 2025. This should pave the way more-accretive debt finance and enhanced returns.”

BBC QT – Gary Stevenson – where to get taxes from rather than cutting benefits. Ex-City trader Gary Stevenson says ’Rich people expect poor people to be stupid’ He was expelled from school at 16 for trying to sell £3 worth of cannabis to a friend. Thankfully, he was allowed to sit his exams, achieving eight A*s, before taking A-Levels elsewhere. Four As helped him win a place at the prestigious London School of Economics. There, he quickly came to a profound realisation: “Rich people expect poor people to be stupid.” Turning up for his first day in a blue and white hoodie and matching joggers, he became an object of fascination among the entitled children of Singaporean and Chinese millionaires, Russian oligarchs and European toffs. For most students, he discovered, LSE wasn’t about studying, it was about bagging a prized City internship leading to a lucrative job in finance – thus perpetuating the cycle of wealth and privilege. While fellow students – some of whom viewed Bret Easton Ellis’s fictional serial killer investment banker Patrick Bateman as a role model – worked family contacts, Stevenson knew his only chance was to beat “the Arab billionaires and Chinese industrialists to a top first-class degree, and just pray to God Goldman Sachs noticed”. Then, he heard about The Trading Game, a maths contest pitching undergraduates from elite universities against one another in simulated financial trades. The winner would receive an internship with Citibank. He didn’t know anything about trading but “decided to show them we’re not all stupid, us kids in tracksuits”. Having slaughtered the competition – you feel almost sorry for the students in expensive suits facing the “small, aggressive-looking boy with an almost incomprehensible accent and a white hoodie with a blue rhino on it” – he arrived full-time at Citibank in 2008 aged 21 and, in his own words, “feral”. Citibank had spotted something in Stevenson – “I had literally no idea what I was doing but everyone around me was convinced I was going to be the next big trader and they were right”. Dispensing with its graduate scheme, the bank put him straight into the team trading in FX or foreign exchange loans. Their desk, known as Short-Term Interest Rate Trading, or STIRT, was about to come into its own during the lending crunch in the wake of the crash. Millions of people around the world were losing their homes and jobs, but fortunes were still being made. A colleague likened the STIRT team to the rabbits from Watership Down – survivors of an apocalypse. Within a couple of years, the rookie trader was out-performing almost everyone – juggling eye-watering sums of money in complex deals. It was a zero-sum game. For Stevenson to win, someone else had to take a bath. Ultimately, the position that would make him rich – trading against a global recovery – reflected his own background. Back in Ilford, he could see people losing their homes and jobs: the “k***heads” on the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee, responsible for setting the UK’s interest rate and promising a turnaround, didn’t have a clue. His trades were soon pulling in millions of dollars in profits. One year, his bonus reached a stratospheric $2.5million. Yet, almost inevitably, the money didn’t make him happy. And the fall was fast. “I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but it’s an insane thing when you’ve experienced so much poverty,” he admits. “We’re all sitting around thinking, ‘I wish I had money’, but when it happens, it’s complicated. “I became like a machine. I was making a lot of profit but I was also doing an enormous amount of trades. You’re so plugged into the game, you forget everything else.” Conducting hundreds of transactions a day, collateral damage included relationships with family, friends and his girlfriend. Stevenson was soon rising at 2am and running on a treadmill because he couldn’t sleep.

Stephen Dorril, author, on how the secret services and Britsh Army took over Heathrow Airport in June 1974 influenced UK politics in the 1970s. Review: Smear! Wilson and the Secret State by Stephen Dorril and Robin Ramsey – This is something of an under researched area and one that often goes un-discussed even in political circles. Which may go some way to explaining the necessity of reviewing a book first published in 1991. Smear!: Wilson and the Secret State is nothing if not extensive. The book covers the period from 1916 to 1979. Some will simply write off a book like this as conspiracy theory. There are some who would do so on any book about the secret state or Civil Service that isn’t an extended press release. They can be safely dismissed as a book like this isn’t for them. Those that come with reservations but an open mind should find much more of value in this book. One major advantage of its density is that every single claim is meticulously referenced in the book’s forty-four pages of footnotes and can be checked independently by the reader. This by itself is a marked difference from the crankier end of the conspiracist market. Overall it’s an impressive work. I’d go as far as to say that the evidence provided is enough to give strong support to the book’s central thesis; that the secret state and the Civil Service didn’t like Harold Wilson, especially in his approach to MI5 surveillance of the Labour Party (this seems inarguable and confirmed by sources independent of the Labour Party, and Norman Tebbit’s lockdown admissions) and that they worked actively to undermine Wilson. Another particularly interesting section was in the book’s re-examination of the coup plots against Wilson, the most important of which was headed up by Cecil Harmsworth King, owner of the Daily Mirror. (King’s motivations are still unclear, but may have been down to pure venality due to Wilson refusing to make him an Earl after the Mirror’s support for Labour in the general election). When acknowledged at all, much media commentary has treated the plot as a bit of a joke. But this from Hugh Cudlipp’s autobiography (then editor of the Mirror and an eyewitness to the alleged coup meeting) sounds much more serious and sinister: [Cecil King] awaited the arrival of Sir Solly and then at once expounded his views on the gravity of the national situation, the urgency for action, and then embarked upon a shopping list of the Prime Minister’s shortcomings… He explained that in the crisis he foresaw as being just around the corner, the Government would disintegrate, there would be bloodshed in the streets and the armed forces would be involved. The people would be looking to somebody like Lord Mountbatten as the titular head of a new administration, somebody renowned as a leader of men, who would be capable, backed by the best brains and administrators in the land, to restore public confidence. He ended with a question to Mountbatten- would he agree to be the titular head of a new administration in such circumstances? Quite obviously, the failure of a coup plot doesn’t mean the plot never happened. It is hard to disagree with Jonathan Freedland’s conclusion that this was the UK’s Watergate. Freedland remains one of the very few mainstream journalists to ever have tackled the issue head on. I can only scratch the surface of what the book covers in this review, but I hope I’ve demonstrated why it’s a vital work for any activist, whether in the Labour Party or outside it.

Trump, Putin ceasefire deal. Zelensky in Paris with European leaders – soldiers to Ukraine? Ukraine, Russian truces not working – each blaming the other for violating it. UK encouraging Ukraine to break truces – like Minsk. The Libertarian Institute – Zelensky vetoing deals.  Russia Accuses Ukraine of Sabotaging Ceasefire Agreement In the hours following an announcement that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to a limited truce, Moscow and Kiev made accusations of ceasefire violations. Russian Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky charged Ukrainian President Zelensky with attempting to sabotage the deal. “Kiev, having agreed in words to the energy ceasefire, continues to plan and carry out strikes on Russia’s energy infrastructure, trying to deceive both us and the United States in this way,” he told the UN Security Council. “It is absolutely clear that through such actions it is trying to derail any peace agreements and clearly demonstrates its lack of commitment.” On Tuesday, a US-brokered agreement between Russia and Ukraine was announced. The limited ceasefire calls for the restoration of the Black Sea Initiative and halting attacks on energy infrastructure. After the announcement, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters that Ukraine was continuing attacks on Russian energy infrastructure. “Despite all the discussions regarding the ceasefire, the Ukrainian side is so far still conducting attacks on our energy facilities, our energy infrastructure,” he said. Kiev denied violating the agreement, with Ukraine’s General Staff saying “It should be highlighted that the military department of the aggressor country is spreading false and groundless accusations in order to prolong the war and continue its false propaganda and typical attempts to deceive the world.” On Tuesday, Zelensky’s adviser Dmytro Lytvyn accused Russia of attacking Ukrainian energy sites since March 18. “They’ve been hitting our energy sites with bombs, attack drones, and FPV drones. We’re not going into all the details, but there have already been eight confirmed hits on energy facilities,” he wrote on X. “Every night our air defense forces shoot down nearly a hundred attack drones – and many of those drones were likely targeting other energy facilities.” It is unclear if any of the strikes Lytvyn is referring to happened after the ceasefire was implemented on Tuesday, the day Zelensky said the truce was set to begin. However, Zelensky did accuse the Kremlin of attempting to manipulate the agreement during his nightly video address on Tuesday: “Unfortunately, right now, right today, right on the day of the talks, we see how the Russians have already started to manipulate.” He continued, “They are already trying to distort the agreements and actually deceive our mediators and the whole world.” Following the rollout of the agreement, Zelensky said that if Moscow violated the truce, Washington should send additional arms to Ukraine and place new sanctions on Russia. While the ceasefire appears to be on shaky ground, Polyansky said the limited truce presented a chance to end the war. “Today, thanks to the efforts of the presidents of Russia and the United States, there is a real chance that this settlement will be diplomatic and that tens, if not hundreds of thousands of lives of ordinary Ukrainians will be saved. Of course, the military scenario remains on the table,” he told the UNSC. “And we are also ready for its implementation. But we prefer peace and diplomacy.”

Valerii Zaluzhny – being groomed in London & taught English? Next in line after Zelensky? Who Is Valery Zaluzhny? Ukraine’s Ex-Army Chief Could Challenge Zelensky Donald Trump’s rift with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky deepened this week as he labeled him a “dictator” and urged Ukraine to hold elections, intensifying speculation over who could succeed the Ukrainian leader. Amid the public fallout, The Economist reported Wednesday that it had obtained internal polling indicating that General Valery Zaluzhny—who was a key figure in the war against Russia—would beat Zelensky should a wartime election be held. Who is Valery Zaluzhny? Zaluzhny served as Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces from 2021 to 2024 and now holds the position of ambassador to the United Kingdom. He was dismissed as head of the military on February 8, 2024, and replaced by General Oleksandr Syrsky. Tensions between Zaluzhny and Zelensky had been simmering for months before he was removed from his post. The pair are reported to have clashed over the general’s war strategies and the challenge of mass mobilization, CNN reported. Zaluzhny’s growing popularity among both the public and the military further fueled speculation that he posed a potential political challenge to Zelensky’s presidency, Ukrainian and Russian media outlets reported. In a commentary for the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, published shortly after Zaluzhny’s dismissal, researcher Konstantin Skorkin described the move as “the first time [Zelensky] has so openly gone against the tide of public opinion.” He said the decision likely alienated voters who view Ukraine’s military personnel as heroes and Zaluzhny as their leader. “But that’s only half the story,” Skorkin added, citing polls showing that 72 percent of Ukrainians—roughly the same percentage who once supported Zelensky—disagreed with Zaluzhny’s removal. What Has Zaluzhny Said About Entering Politics? While Zaluzhny has not officially pledged to run for office, he has not ruled out the possibility. When asked about his potential participation in Ukraine’s future presidential elections, he dismissed the question as “inappropriate” but hinted at a future decision. “The appropriate conditions will come, and then I, as someone serving in a government position, will be able to answer such questions,” he told reporters, Ukrainian online publication Strana reported on Wednesday. Internal polling obtained by The Economist indicates that while Zelensky remains Ukraine’s most popular politician, he would lose a future election to Zaluzhny by 30 percent to 65 percent, the magazine said. Trump Calls for Wartime Elections In a post riddled with inaccuracies on his Truth Social account, Trump branded Zelensky a “modestly successful comedian” who “refuses to have Elections.” “A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left. In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only “TRUMP,” and the Trump Administration, can do,” he wrote. Trump was parroting the Kremlin’s talking points in calling for Ukraine to hold elections amid the war. Moscow has long sought to discredit the Ukrainian government by claiming that Zelensky is an illegitimate president, although martial law prohibits elections during wartime for safety reasons.

PMQs – Ukraine. East Ukraine warzone kids evacuated to Russia, spun as a ‘war crime’ by Ukraine and the West. Putin – speech about Arctic in Murmansk. Donetsk republic announces mass evacuation of civilians into Russia from Feb 18 Women, children and the elderly are to be evacuated first, DPR leader Denis Pushilin informed DONETSK, February 18. /TASS/. The Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) has launched organised evacuation of the population into Russia over the threat of a military operation by Ukraine, DPR leader Denis Pushilin said on Friday. “Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will soon order the military to mount an offensive and to implement the plan of invasion of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics,” Pushilin said in an emergency address to the republic’s inhabitants, posted on his website. According to Pushilin, in recent months the republic has daily “recorded Ukraine’s buildup of troops and lethal weapons, including Smerch and Uragan multiple rocket launchers, NLAW [anti-tank] missile systems as well as Javelin and Stinger [missiles] along the entire line of contact.” “Today their guns are targeting civilians, us and our children. The enemy’s armed forces are deployed in battle order and are poised to seize Donbass by force,” he warned. The DPR leader pointed out that having gained the experience of warfare, the republic’s forces are on constant combat readiness and are capable of defending both the civilians and infrastructure. Nevertheless, Pushilin went on to say, the lives and health of the republic’s citizens could be threatened in case Ukrainian forces start shelling the DPR residential areas. “Therefore, from today, February 18, mass centralized evacuation of the population to the Russian Federation has been organized. Women, children and the elderly are to be evacuated first,” the DPR leader said. “The management of companies and offices must organize the evacuation of employees’ families. The territorial defense headquarters are to provide transport for evacuation of the civilian population,” he added. Pushilin said that in accordance with the agreement with the Russian leadership, facilities were put up in the Rostov region to accommodate DPR residents. “The evacuees will be provided with everything they need. All conditions have been created for quick crossings at checkpoints,” he said. Escalation in Donbass The situation along the contact line in eastern Ukraine took a turn for the worse in the morning of February 17. The DPR and LPR reported some of the most intensive shelling by Kiev’s armed forces in recent months. There have been no reports of casualties but the shelling damaged some civilian facilities. The spike in tensions occurred as Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky was touring the Ukrainian military’s operation zone in Donbass. Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin was keeping an eye on the situation and regards it as “very, very dangerous” due to provocations by Ukraine. Additional ceasefire control measures, which were approved by the Contact Group seeking peace for eastern Ukraine, have been in effect in Donbass since July 27, 2020. The measures include bans on any offensive, intelligence or sabotage activities, the use of all types of aircraft, any shooting, and the deployment of heavy weapons to populated localities.

NATO coup attempt in Serbia? Serbia – weapon LRAD. Government denies using ‘sonic cannon’ at Serbia protests For a few seconds, there was only pure panic, as chaos and fear surged through the crowd at a major anti-government protest in Serbia. What started as confusion has since spiralled into questions over whether an illegal sonic weapon was used to silence the demonstration. A large crowd of protesters in Belgrade were observing a 15-minute silence on Saturday evening in honour of the 15 people killed when part of a railway station collapsed in Novi Sad in November. Then, out of nowhere, a loud, jarring noise shattered the quiet. [or did it?] The mood shifted in an instant. The crowd surged towards the pavement in panic. I was swept along with them. People scattered in all directions. At first, many thought the noise was an emergency vehicle, after what had sounded like a car crash. But there were no sirens. Then came the rumours. Claims emerged that a sonic weapon – a device capable of causing pain, dizziness, and hearing damage – had been deployed against the peaceful protesters. Male and female protesters hold Serbian flags and their mobile phones in the air. Serbian officials have denied these reports, rejecting allegations that security forces deployed a military-grade Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) – also known as a “sonic cannon” – during the demonstration. The Serbian army has stated that it neither possesses nor has ever used a sonic cannon. In an interview with Serbia’s state-owned broadcaster RTS, military Brigadier General Slavko Rakic said: “A sonic cannon uses a sound system that is amplified well above the sound system of humans and other living things. What we saw is nothing like that. “The effect that is achieved is an amplified sound recording and it should be audible, but that is not present in the recordings.” The public prosecutor’s office in Belgrade has instructed the Ministry of Internal Affairs to investigate the incident. Protesters gathered in memory of those who died in the Novi Sad disaster – a tragedy that sparked unrest across the country Between 275,000 and 325,000 people were estimated to have taken part in the protest. The government put the attendance at 107,000. One of the places where protesters gathered was outside Belgrade’s bright-yellow Student Cultural Centre in the heart of the Serbian capital. For more than four months, students have blockaded their universities and organised protests, demanding that those responsible for the railway station collapse be brought to justice.

NATO coup attempt in Turkey? – Mayor arrested and protests – East West influences. Thousands turn out for Turkey protests after more than 1,400 arrests Thousands of protesters have gathered for a seventh night in Istanbul, in support of the detained mayor of the city, Ekrem Imamoglu Thousands of people in Turkey have turned out for a seventh night of protests which have so far seen more than 1,400 people detained, including students, journalists and lawyers. The nightly unrest began last Wednesday when the city’s Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu – who is seen as the President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s main political rival – was arrested on corruption charges. Rights groups and the UN have condemned the arrests and the use of force by police on the protesters. Imamoglu said the allegations against him were politically motivated, a claim the Turkish president has denied. Speaking to a group of young people at a Ramadan fast-breaking meal in Ankara on Tuesday, President Erdogan urged patience and common sense amid what he described as “very sensitive days.” He added that people who want “to turn this country into a place of chaos have nowhere to go”, and the path protesters have taken is “a dead end”. On Tuesday evening, thousands of students from many universities in Istanbul met in Maçka Park and then marched towards Sisli. Turkey’s main opposition party said Tuesday would be the last nightly vigil in Istanbul but called for a mass rally on Saturday to demand early elections Authorities in Istanbul banned protests and closed some roads “in order to maintain public order” and “prevent any provocative actions that may occur”. As students marched through the Nisantasi district they chanted “government, resign!” and waved flags and banners as they were watched by a large deployment of riot police. Many students had their faces covered with scarves or masks, and acknowledged they feared being identified by the police. Turkey’s main opposition party, the Republican People’s Party (CHP), said that Tuesday’s rally outside Istanbul’s City Hall would be its last in a run of nightly gatherings – and that it is planning a rally in the city on Saturday. “Are you ready for a big rally in a large square in Istanbul on Saturday?” Ozgur Ozel told crowds. “To support Imamoglu, to object to his arrest, to object to the detention of each of our mayors. To demand transparent, open, live broadcast trials, to say that we have had enough and we want early elections.”

Trump Yemen bombings. Trump talks with Iran about nuclear weapons. Trump invites Iran leader to nuclear talks — or else Washington (AFP) – US President Donald Trump said Friday that he has written to Iran’s supreme leader pressing for new talks on its nuclear program, warning of possible military action if not. Iran’s foreign minister told AFP on Friday that his country would not negotiate so long as the United States applies “maximum pressure,” but he was not responding directly to Trump’s letter to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Trump’s outreach marks a departure at least in tone from the hardline stance that marked his first term and could put him at odds with close ally Israel, which last year carried out bombing strikes inside Iran. “Hopefully we can have a peace deal,” Trump told reporters at the White House, saying “we’re at the final moments” on the Iranian nuclear program. “I’d rather see a peace deal than the other,” he said of military action. “But the other will solve the problem.” Trump earlier revealed the letter in an interview on Fox Business in which he said he told Khamenei: “I hope you’re going to negotiate because if we have to go in militarily it’s going to be a terrible thing for them.” It was unclear how Trump sent the letter, which Iran’s mission to the United Nations said it has not received. Former president Barack Obama negotiated a landmark 2015 deal that promised sanctions relief in return for Iran curbing its nuclear program. Trump denounced the agreement and pulled out in 2018 during his first term, over the objections of European allies. He instead imposed sweeping unilateral US sanctions on any other country buying Iran’s oil. Tehran, which denies seeking nuclear weapons, initially adhered to the deal but then rolled back commitments. US officials estimate Iran would now need mere weeks to build a nuclear bomb if it chooses to. On his return to the White House, Trump said he was reinstating — but only reluctantly — his “maximum pressure” policy on Iran. He has since sidelined officials from his first term associated with the hard line, and has vowed to break out of a foreign policy establishment he describes as war-mongering.

‘Israel and the assassination of the Kennedy brothers’ film. Israel was behind serial assassinations of Kennedy brothers: Laurent Guyenot “Israel has lodged itself like a parasite in all of America’s power structures” TEHRAN – Laurent Guyenot, who has co-authored a new documentary on Israel’s role in the assassinations of both John and Robert Kennedy, tells the Tehran Times that the “true American Deep State” is Israel, which had a crucial role in the assassinations of the Kennedy brothers. “There are indeed in the United States, as in most democracies, hidden centers of power, totally immune from democratic accountability, capable of steering the country’s foreign and military policy by various means such as corruption, propaganda, blackmail, and other more criminal means, but the most influential of these power centers are not ‘American’ in any real sense: the true American Deep State, if you will, is Israel,” notes says Guyenot, author of JFK-9/11: 50 Years of Deep State. Guyenot, who is a French author and anthropologist, says, “Israel has lodged itself like a parasite in all of America’s power structures. And it is precisely Israel that, in my opinion, is behind the serial assassinations of the Kennedy brothers.” Here is the text of the interview with him : Q: Today is the 57th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination. You have directed a French documentary on the assassinations of both John Kennedy and his brother Robert, which is now available in English. Can you first tell us how your research began? A: My view of the world was turned upside down in 2011 when I realized that the founding event of the 21st century, the 9/11 terror attacks, was a Big Lie designed to start a new world war. I wanted to understand the background of this operation and studied what I call the “deep history” of the United States, which is basically the history of State lies, false flag attacks, and other conspiracies. And whoever digs into that field has to come to grisp with the JFK assassination. It was a real turning point in U.S. history, although few people realized it. Somehow, on November 22nd, 1963, America was assassinated in Dallas, and a satanic demon took possession of its corpse, and it now roams the earth, sowing deception and terror everywhere. Q: What is the role of the Deep State in the assassination of President Kennedy? A: I have used the phrase “Deep State” in my book JFK-9/11 published seven years ago. But I now find it problematic. The perpetuation of the official lie for more than 50 years shows that those who assassinated Kennedy wield great occult power. But what is important is to specify the identity of the men who hold it. The phrase ‘Deep State’” is a bit like the Freudian unconscious: it is a deliberately vague expression, which reveals nothing. It is actually deceptive because it evokes some kind of national level of commandment. But the “deep power” that killed Kennedy, or that orchestrated the 9/11 false flag attacks, is not “national” power, it is a foreign power. There are indeed in the United States, as in most democracies, hidden centers of power, totally immune from democratic accountability, capable of steering the country’s foreign and military policy by various means such as corruption, propaganda, blackmail, and other more criminal means, but the most influential of these power centers are not “American” in any real sense: the true American Deep State, if you will, is Israel. Israel has lodged itself like a parasite in all of America’s power structures. And it is precisely Israel that, in my opinion, is behind the serial assassinations of the Kennedy brothers.

Suspicious role of Yoko Ono and her former husband Anthony Cox in the murder of John Lennon? Second gunman — not Mark David Chapman — may have shot John Lennon, author claims – Mark David Chapman might be innocent in the murder of John Lennon, according to a British author and TV producer who said his upcoming documentary and book outline how a second shooter might have killed the iconic singer. Chapman may have been brainwashed by the CIA to serve as a patsy, according to David Whelan, who spent three years investigating what he called astonishing inconsistencies in the official narrative of Lennon’s 1980 slaying as well as weird coincidences. Whelan, whose book “Mind Games – The Assassination of John Lennon” and a documentary, told The Post he believes the official narrative that Lennon was shot from behind by Chapman is untrue, and that a more professionally trained gunman shot him from the front, into his chest. As part of his research, Whelan spoke to the surgeon, Dr. David Halleran, and two nurses, Barbara Kammerer and Dea Sato, who tried to save the dying Lennon at the former Roosevelt Hospital and to the lead detective who handled the case. He also pored through reams of police and medical records, he said in an interview from his London home Saturday. Lennon was fatally shot on Dec. 8, 1980, as he and his wife, Yoko Ono, were returning to their apartment at the Dakota on Central Park West. Chapman, now 67, described as an obsessed fan with mental problems, shot the former Beatle with a .38 revolver. He pleaded guilty to the murder after his lawyers briefly considered an insanity defense and is serving a 20-years-to-life sentence at Green Haven Correctional Facility in upstate New York. He’s been denied parole at least 12 times. Whelan said the “official narrative” says Lennon was shot from behind, but his interviews and research with the surgeon and nurses, among others, indicated that Lennon was shot by someone in front of him. In addition, Whelan said, it was dark that night and Chapman was reportedly about 25 feet from Lennon when he fired, a vast distance for an untrained marksman. Yet the bullets entered Lennon in a close grouping that looked professional, Whelan said.

Mark Felton: Operation Clockwork Orange – Secret Military Coup Against British Prime Minister In June 1974, British troops suddenly took over Heathrow Airport in London. Prime Minister Harold Wilson was not informed. Wilson suspected that this was the latest action in a plot against him by a shadowy conspiracy of intelligence agents, retired senior military officers and right-wing journalists including such famous figures as Lord Mountbatten, the current King Charles III’s great-uncle. Many suspected that Harold Wilson was a Soviet agent. Was Wilson right to fear a military coup, something hitherto unheard of in modern Britain? Evidence suggests he may have been right. Dr. Mark Felton FRHistS, FRSA, is a well-known British historian, the author of 22 non-fiction books, including bestsellers ‘Zero Night’ and ‘Castle of the Eagles’, both currently being developed into movies in Hollywood. In addition to writing, Mark also appears regularly in television documentaries around the world, including on The History Channel, Netflix, National Geographic, Quest, American Heroes Channel and RMC Decouverte. His books have formed the background to several TV and radio documentaries.

Stephen Dorril reviews this week’s Mark Felton clockwork orange report – Northern Ireland.  Smear!: Wilson and the Secret State (with Robin Ramsay) (Fourth Estate, 1991) Brief Description of Smear! This book is a revisionist biography of Harold Wilson. The authors assert that, although Wilson was previously perceived as a villain and egotist, unexamined subtext now shows that his behavior was intelligible and intelligent and that he was one of the cleverest men of his generation. “Smear!” is also in part a parapolitical history of Britain in the ’60s and ’70s. It claims that the so-called “Wilson plot” of the mid-’70s was merely the climax of continuous clandestine struggles between the Labour Party – and Wilson in particular – and the British secret state and its allies in the Conservative party. Evidence is offered with the intention of showing that MI5 and MI6’s plotting was far more extensive than anyone realised. Wilson is resurrected as a genuine radical who attempted to take on the British State – and lost.

Brilliant documentary about marketisation of nature disappears off the internet completely – PLEASE KEEP IT RESTORED! Banking Nature – Privatisation of Nature – incredible censored 2012 documentary made for French TV now with English narration. Banking Nature | The Privatization Of Nature | New Environmental Markets | WBCSD English subs (2015) Banking Nature is a documentary that looks at the growing movement to monetize the natural world and to turn endangered species, areas of outstanding natural beauty, and threatened areas into instruments of profit. This documentary was removed from the monoconomy channel in late 2024, early 2025 for reasons unknown – at the time it was the only online copy of this most instructive film. For the sake of humanity, and sanity, please make sure that never happens again. You know what to do. Privatization Of Nature – Who is behind the new environmental wave of interest in planting forests in Africa, making you buy rain-forest and climatic quotas for pollution? It surely wouldn’t be the same which made the last financial crises in sub prime loans? We investigate the commercialization of the natural world. Protecting our planet has become big business with companies promoting new environmental markets. This involves species banking, where investors buy up vast swathes of land, full of endangered species, to enable them to sell ‘nature credits’. Companies whose actions destroy the environment are now obliged to buy these credits and new financial centres have sprung up, specializing in this trade. Many respected economists believe that the best way to protect nature is to put a price on it. But others fear that this market in nature could lead to companies having a financial interest in a species’ extinction. There are also concerns that – like the subprime mortgage crisis of 2008 – the market in nature credits is bound to crash. And there are wider issues at stake. What guarantees do we have that our natural inheritance will be protected? And should our ecological heritage be for sale? Sandrine Feydel and Denis Delestrac delve into the world of green banking in this documentary, reporting that investors buy up the habitats of endangered species and then sell them in the form of shares. The film includes a montage of images of nature, reflective voice-overs and interviews with bankers, economists, activists and policymakers. The economist Pavan Sukhdev is interviewed, saying nature can best be protected by sticking a price tag on it. Pablo Solon is interviewed saying this subjecting of nature to free market forces as a “license to kill” it. Vandana Shiva is also interviewed.

Why does nobody mention the Nazi Satanic Order of Nine Angles who groom online for murder? Home Secretary Yvette Cooper demanded their criminalisation in 2020 – now all forgotten – ITV – Online grooming gangs – Nazi Satanic online grooming and murder group Order of Nine Angles is not mentioned. “Sadistic” online gangs involving teenage boys are committing horrific crimes, including child abuse and sharing extreme material, the National Crime Agency (NCA) has warned. Reports of these so-called “com networks” – as labelled by the NCA because of the online communities they form part of – have increased six times in the UK between 2022 and 2024, involving thousands of users and victims. The NCA says these networks are typically made up of young men driven by desires for “status, power, control, misogyny, sexual gratification, or an obsession with extreme or violent material”.  The terrifying influence of the online world on young minds especially young boys explored in the Netflix drama Adolescence is also sparking a national debate And it’s now followed today by a chilling warning from the National Crime Agency about the threat from online gangs of predominantly teenage boys who compete to be cruel which has seen they say a six-fold increase in two years This is sadistic and violent abuse bringing together cyber crime and fraud but also child sexual abuse and commissioning violence across the internet The context is absolutely the misogynist uh influencing that these uh teenagers are seeing Among them Kyle Clifford who killed and raped his ex-girlfriend and then murdered her mother and sister I don’t think that young women should be making their own choices about who their lifelong partners are His actions according to prosecutors fueled by the violent misogyny promoted by controversial influencer Andrew Tate whose videos he watched 24 hours before the murders I’m really worried about what is happening to some of our teenagers as a result of some of this criminal online activity The National Crime Agency is making this a priority and we are strengthening the law so that the organizers of these criminal networks could face up to 10 years in jail Boys are being radicalized online say the National Crime Agency

NOT The BCfm Politics Show CANCELLED and attempts to intimidate us

July 2024 – Tony, Dave and Martin’s NOT The BCfm Politics show was CANCELLED/EVICTED in a no fault, no notice, no appeal, eviction by The People’s Republic of Stokes Croft (PRSC) arts centre – An email from Chloe Slater and Keith Cowling explained that: ‘Transphobic’ leaflets had been left in the building by a recent guest [who denied it] making Transsexual users of the building feel ‘offended’ and ‘unsafe’. To quote: ‘Please let us know when you or Dave would like to come and retrieve your equipment and drop off your keys. Kind regards’ PRSC Directors (Keith Cowling, chair) PRSC / Stokes Croft China 17-35 Jamaica St. Bristol, BS2 8JP.

George Ferguson and Joe Banks join Tony and Martin. Fadumo Farah, resident of Barton Hill, explains how Council put bollards in their road at 3am in the morning, as a liveable cities venture, and when locallers got upset, 50 cops, drones, and a helicopter turned up! Disabled and parents who need cars not considered. There was no real consultation before hand. ITV West on Barton Hill scheme – disabled trapped in homes. Barton Hill community group Coffee Conscious meet 6.30pm every Tuesday – look online.  Police join contractors as bus gate installed before sunrise Dozens of police officers joined council contractors in the early hours of Thursday morning as a bus gate in Barton Hill was finally installed. The bus gate, part of the East Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood trial scheme, is now on Avonvale Road. On Thursday, some people drove their cars straight through the gate in both directions while others took alternative routes, with Beam Street becoming particularly busy. At around 4am, a small group of women lay down on Marsh Lane to prevent contractors painting the road and installing another bus gate outside Barton House. One man who parked his car on Beam Street to get a newspaper from the Spar on Avonvale Road, called the move to install the bus gate before sunrise “sneaky”. He said: “I had a feeling they’d do that at nighttime. It will cause chaos.” Several of the protesters who lay down on Marsh Lane are currently fasting because it is Ramadan and were unable to have their Suhoor pre-dawn meal. Another protester said that no legal notice had been given that the roads would be closed in order to install the bus gates. Fadumo Farah, who lives in Barton House, said that she left her home before 4am after being notified about what was happening via a WhatsApp group. She said: “The police officers told me they were here to keep the peace but it looks like they were assisting. “We were only four women and one man. We were peacefully protesting and there were around 50 police officers… “They said we would get arrested and we were breaking the law for protesting on the road.” As protesters filmed police officers, one officer filmed the protesters. The newly installed bus gate on Avonvale Road – photo: Martin Booth When contractors divided themselves to work on different sections of the infrastructure including on Marsh Lane and Avonvale Road, protesters also split up. Infrastructure was also installed before dawn on Victoria Avenue. Farah added: “My position is supporting the community. As soon as I saw so many police officers, that was really disappointing because there were only a few of us… “I have seen so many women broken and crying. We missed our special meal with our family this morning and now we are fasting… “I asked them to bring us water or something but they refused to do that.”

Brett Christophers on privatisation. The New Enclosure by Brett Christophers — the sale of the century The massive privatisation of public property is key to understanding Britain today What was the biggest privatisation in the UK in recent decades? British Telecom or British Gas? The electricity grid, utilities or the railways? Think again. It is easier to get the right answer if you start by asking what was the UK’s biggest public asset when the privatisation drive began with the arrival of Margaret Thatcher in Downing Street in 1979. It was not industrial holdings, transport infrastructure or the telephone system — it was land and the public buildings erected on it. Land makes up a staggering share of national wealth. An estimate prepared in 2017 by the Office for National Statistics concluded that out of total national wealth of £9.8tn, land accounted for £5tn and houses and other structures added another £3.5tn on top of that. Of all of the land in Britain, in the late 1970s public agencies owned 20 per cent; institutional owners held another 20 per cent, and 60 per cent was in the hands of private individuals. As Brett Christophers outlines in his book The New Enclosure, it was the transfer into private ownership of roughly half of the public estate that was by far the largest element of Britain’s privatisation programme. The disposal of land and buildings, council homes, military facilities, NHS land and school playing fields transferred property — which at current prices would be worth around £400bn — from the public to the private sector. To put that figure in perspective, ahead of the 2007-08 financial crisis Britain’s public debt came to just short of £500bn. The fact that this huge sale of property does not feature more prominently in the national narrative — at least at the level of North Sea oil, say — reflects the fact that these gigantic disposals took place in dribs and drabs over a matter of decades, often at cutdown prices. Even allowing for inflation, the public sector did not realise anything close to current value from the sales, leaving the public balance sheet in a depleted state. Christophers’ account may come as a shock to many readers. That in itself is worthy of comment. How did land become so invisible as part of the privatisation story? Since time immemorial it has been the dominant asset. Back to the Domesday Book of the Normans, economic and political power depended on land ownership. Beginning in earnest in the 1500s, the wave of enclosures — fencing in land previously used for common grazing — supercharged the development of agrarian capitalism. Right up until the beginning of the 20th century, the landed elite were a dominant force in British politics and society. As such, they also attracted criticism.

Building potential in North Bristol. Bristol vehicle dwellers. Not enough affordable housing. How Bristol’s tallest building will be linked to Israel’s atrocities If you stood in the Bearpit this winter – a sunken 1960s concrete plaza in the middle of St James Barton roundabout in Bristol’s city centre – you would have seen up to a dozen tents pitched on its raised grass sides. As the relentless traffic goes round above like water circling an enormous plughole, you are confronted with the raw end of Bristol’s housing crisis. Tragically, it no longer registers as a shock. Tents like these can be found all over the inner city, from parks to roundabouts to the walls of the cathedral. Beyond the centre, hundreds of battered vans and caravans line residential streets, industrial estates and the avenues of the Downs – homes to the growing mass of people who cannot afford a roof over their head in a place with the least affordable housing of any major British city outside London. Looking up from the tents at the Bearpit, you see a very different, but equally emblematic feature of Bristol’s housing crisis. Across the road, the former 18-storey Premier Inn, originally built as offices in the 1970s, is currently being demolished floor by floor. In its place will stand two high-rise towers. One of these will be a 28-storey Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) block, the other an 18-storey ‘Co-Living’ block – a new housing product similar to PBSA, with small bedrooms and shared amenity spaces, but aimed at young professionals. The larger tower will be Bristol’s tallest ever building, two storeys higher than the Build-to-Rent development Castle Park View, completed in 2022. It will be a defining landmark on the skyline, visible from across the city.

Jeremy Corbyn on the Gaza conflict – he wants a Chilcot type inquiry. Jeremy Corbyn Demands Answers About Who Authorised British Participation in the Gaza Genocide Palestine Deep Dive Speaking to Palestinian Deep Dive’s Ahmed Alnaouq, Jeremy Corbyn says, “I want to know and I really do want to know who in the British government authorised the overflying of Gaza? Who in the British government authorised the delivery of weapons? Who in the British government knowingly provided weapons to a country that has been arraigned before the ICJ and the ICC?” To these answer, the former UK Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn is demanding a “Chilcot-style” inquiry into the British government’s participation in the Gaza genocide. The Chilcot Report, officially titled the Iraq Inquiry, was an independent public inquiry into the UK’s involvement in the 2003 Iraq War, chaired by Sir John Chilcot. The Report exposed intelligence failures, lack of planning and questioned the legal basis for the war. Corbyn said he remains “constantly astonished” by the attitude of successive UK governments, which continue to enable Israel’s assaults on Gaza, an onslaught he describes as “a Second World War-Style carpet bombing.” However if the government refuses such an inquiry, Corbyn says he will not be deterred from continuing to demand one by billing further parliamentary debates. He also says an alternative would be a public inquiry inspired by the Russell Tribunal on the Vietnam War, “so we will have an open process with expert opinions, witnesses and evidence.” Corbyn urged people everywhere to keep up the pressure on their governments to stop the genocide in Gaza. He emphasised the need to use every available avenue— street protests, raising awareness and protesting against Elbit Systems weapons factories in the UK in particular— to demand justice and accountability. World has not seen this level of evil since the Nazis –  Al Jazeera – Netanyahu genocide with Ben Gvir fascist – only solution is ‘ethnic cleansing only solution’ extermination – Netanyahu accused of war crimes but still has impunity.- international community has failed – Al Jazeera – Mustafa Barghouthi – SecGen Palestinian National Initiative  Inside Story – Israel violated ceasefire. Jonathan Cook article – Netanyahu path back to Genocide – The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) armed group accused Israel of “deliberately sabotaging all efforts to reach a ceasefire”. Israeli assaults across Gaza resume, effectively shattering the fragile ceasefire with Hamas. At least 404 Palestinians have been killed and 562 wounded as Israel launched a massive assault on Gaza, shattering the fragile two-month-old ceasefire with Hamas. Tuesday’s attack took place across Gaza, including in Khan Younis and Rafah in southern Gaza, Gaza City in the north, and central areas like Deir el-Balah. Many of those killed in the attacks were children, Gaza’s Ministry of Health said. Palestinian Health Ministry said that “404 martyrs and 562 injuries arrived at Gaza Strip hospitals so far”, adding that “a number of victims are still under the rubble”. Hamas, which governs Gaza, said it viewed Israel’s attacks as a unilateral cancellation of the ceasefire that began on January 19. “Netanyahu and his extremist government are making a decision to overturn the ceasefire agreement, exposing prisoners in Gaza to an unknown fate,” Hamas said in a statement. It called on people in Arab and Islamic nations, along with the “free people of the world”, to take to the streets to protest the assault. Why has Israel shattered the ceasefire in Gaza? Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has refused to implement phase two of the ceasefire agreed upon with Hamas. Israel has launched its biggest assault on Gaza since January 19, when a ceasefire was agreed upon between Hamas and Israel. Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed and many more have been forced to flee their homes. Israel says the strikes were ordered due to a lack of progress in talks to extend the ceasefire. The White House has confirmed it was consulted about the attacks before they were carried out. Hamas is calling on Israel to be held responsible for violating the agreement. So, can Netanyahu achieve his goals through war? Presenter: James Bays Guests: Mustafa Barghouti – secretary-general of the Palestinian National Initiative Scott Lucas – professor of US and international politics at University College Dublin Daniel Levy – president of the US Middle East Project

Double Down News and Al Jazeera put together compilation of Israeli war crimes – horrendous and shocking degree of evil . We never see dead Hamas fighters on News – 36 hospitals hit in Gaza. What did Al Jazeera’s investigation into Israeli war crimes in Gaza reveal? The I-Unit investigated thousands of videos and photos posted to social media by Israeli soldiers. By Richard Sanders and Al Jazeera Investigative Unit When they entered Gaza on October 27, after three weeks of aerial bombardment following Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel, Israeli troops took their iPhones with them. “We live in an era of technology, and this has been described as the first livestreamed genocide in history,” Palestinian novelist Susan Abulhawa told Al Jazeera’s investigative unit (I-Unit). In the year since, Israeli soldiers have posted thousands of videos and photos on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. These videos and photos form the foundation of the I-Unit’s new film, which investigates Israeli war crimes primarily through the medium of the evidence Israeli soldiers themselves have provided. As journalists in the West sought to portray the war on Gaza as complex and nuanced, a flood of social media posts from Israeli soldiers suggested they regarded it as anything but. The I-Unit decided to investigate these posts. It expected to have to dedicate considerable resources to geolocation – the use of satellite maps and other sources to identify specific locations – and to the use of facial recognition software to scan the internet to identify the soldiers featured in the photos and videos. What it found, however, was that, for the most part, soldiers posted material in their own names on publicly accessible platforms and often gave details of when and where the incidents depicted took place. The I-Unit began collecting these videos and photos, compiling a database of more than 2,500 social media accounts. It showed the footage to a range of military and human rights experts, including Dixon, Charlie Herbert, a retired major-general in the British Army, and Bill Van Esveld, the associate director for the Middle East and North Africa at Human Rights Watch. It also employed teams on the ground to film the testimony of witnesses and made use of Israeli drone footage collected by Al Jazeera Arabic. What did the investigation find? The behaviour displayed in the photos and videos ranges from crass jokes and soldiers rifling through women’s underwear drawers to what appears to be the murder of unarmed civilians. It will be for prosecutors to decide the guilt or otherwise of the soldiers, but both Dixon and Van Esveld told Al Jazeera that several of the incidents documented merited investigation by international investigators. Most of the photos and videos fell into one of three categories: wanton destruction, the mistreatment of detainees and the use of human shields. All three may be violations of international humanitarian law (IHL) and war crimes under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court…

Ian Carrol on the Joe Rogan podcast who are far right block in Israel? they are the same terrorists who founded the Israeli state through violence

Scott Ritter ….on Netanyahu battle with Shin Bet over Netanyahu violating National Security, can he sack the Shin Bet boss. Netanyahu disputes court order freezing decision to fire Shin Bet chief PM says government will decide who heads domestic spy agency as protests against Ronen Bar dismissal continue Benjamin Netanyahu is locked in a fierce battle with Israel’s judicial system after the supreme court blocked his attempt to fire the head of the Shin Bet domestic intelligence agency. Amid protests against ministers’ vote to sack Ronen Bar, the top court on Friday froze the decision, with the order remaining in place until the court can hear petitions filed by the opposition and an NGO against the dismissal of the chief of the Shin Bet. Netanyahu said in a post on X that “the government of Israel will decide” who headed the domestic security agency, writing: “The State of Israel is a state of law, and according to the law, the government of Israel decides who will be the head of the Shin Bet.” The Shin Bet has been investigating Netanyahu’s close aides for alleged breaches of national security, including leaking classified documents to foreign media, and allegedly taking money from Qatar, which is known to have given significant financial aid to Hamas. In a letter made public late on Thursday, Bar said his dismissal was motivated by Netanyahu’s “personal interests”. The security chief referred to the conclusions drawn by his agency’s investigation into the Hamas attack on 7 October 2023, which said “a policy of quiet had enabled Hamas to undergo massive military buildup”. He added: “The dismissal of the head of the service at this time at the initiative of the prime minister sends a message to all those involved, a message that could put the optimal outcome of the investigation at risk. This is a direct danger to the security of the state of Israel.” The court ruling said the freeze on Bar’s dismissal would remain until the appeals were presented to the court before 8 April. According to the earlier government statement announcing his dismissal, Bar was supposed to leave his post when his successor was appointed, or by 10 April at the latest. Bar, whose tenure was meant to end next year, was appointed by the previous Israeli government, which briefly forced Netanyahu from power between June 2021 and December 2022. His relations with the prime minister had been strained even before the 7 October Hamas attack that sparked the war in Gaza, notably over a proposed judicial overhaul that had split the country. Relations worsened after the 4 March release of the internal Shin Bet report on the attack, which acknowledged the agency’s own failures but also pointed to wider policy issues in the run-up.

Despite Tel-Aviv posters celebrating Trump support, not all is rosy between Trump and Netanyahu – Are King Charles and Netanyahu working together against Trump

? Was the ceasefire violation Netanyahu and the British Establishment an attack on Donald Trump – Donald Trump is turning on Benjamin Netanyahu… The return of Trump has made clear that the Middle Eastern sands are shifting Few in Israel are likely to have been more startled by the US’s decision to hold direct talks with Hamas than Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, said that Israel had been consulted about the discussions, which partly concerned the release of US hostages held in Gaza. Whether Jerusalem was pleased about being cut out of such sensitive talks, however, is another question entirely. But the return of Trump made clear that the Middle Eastern sands were shifting. And fast. First, the President and his Middle East team were able to secure a temporary ceasefire that saw about 30 Israeli hostages released in exchange for over 2,000 Palestinian prisoners over a six week period that drew to a close last weekend. Trump wanted an end – or at least a pause – to the fighting before he returned to office and the agreement kicked in mere hours before he was sworn in. Then, during Netanyahu’s visit to Washington in early February, Trump revealed his audacious Gaza transfer proposal that could see the Strip fall under US control and most Gazans emigrate. But an alternative scenario could also be playing out here – that when it comes to concluding the war, Trump has come to believe that Netanyahu cannot get the job done. The result is a pair of competing narratives suggesting that, while Trump appears committed to Netanyahu’s leadership, he’s not so subtly undermining Bibi in increasingly public fashion. Perhaps, most worryingly for Netanyahu, Washington’s efforts are working: over the weekend, Trump hostage affairs envoy Adam Boehler said that Hamas had proposed a five-to-ten year truce with Israel that would see it lay down its arms and remove itself from governing Gaza. It’s a startling proposal, made all the more unprecedented by Washington’s willingness to negotiate with Hamas in stark contradiction to long-standing US opposition to direct engagement with terror organisations. And Netanyahu’s inner circle was reportedly displeased by the Americans going rogue: according to a Times of Israel report last week, Ron Dermer, Israel’s Strategic Affairs Minister, “lashed out” at US hostage envoy Boehler upon learning about meetings the latter had held in Doha with a senior Hamas delegation. With Israeli elections at least a year away, Netanyahu faces little immediate threat of dethronement. But his political longevity is partly hinged on the belief that Trump has Bibi’s back; that he views Netanyahu as an equal, rather than a junior partner. That this current White House – unlike its predecessor – seeks to elevate rather than undermine Israel’s leader. As massive posters praising Trump across Israel convey, the Israeli public wants (needs) to believe that Trump is committed to ensuring their sovereignty and security as the threat of war’s return remains constant. And Netanyahu needs to project himself as the embodiment of Washington’s new-found affirmation. With alternative leadership nowhere to be found in Israel, Bibi is still managing to maintain this facade. But as the unilateral efforts by Trump’s team are beginning to make clear, Trump may have less faith in Bibi’s abilities than even Biden and Harris before him.

David Lammy says ‘Israel is in breach of international law’ – UK Foreign secretary David Lammy told the House of Commons on Monday when asked about Israel withholding humanitarian aid: “Well, my honourable friend is right. “This is a breach of international law. In Parliament, Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated that Israel is in break of international law over its blockade of Gaza, in response to a question from Rupa Huq MP. She said: “I welcome my right hon. Friend’s strong statement that blockading all aid into Gaza, including UK aid, is “appalling and unacceptable”. What discussions did he have with G7 colleagues about what can be done about this provocative action during Ramadan, and what consequences are there for what people are saying is a breach of international law?” Foreign Secretary David Lammy replied: “My hon. Friend is right: this is a breach of international law. Israel, quite rightly, must defend its own security, but we find the lack of aid—and it has now been 15 days since aid got into Gaza—unacceptable, Toggle showing location ofColumn 42hugely alarming and very worrying. We urge Israel to get back to the number of trucks we were seeing going in—way beyond 600—so that Palestinians can get the necessary humanitarian support they need at this time.” No 10 rows back on Lammy’s claim Israel broke international law in Gaza Downing Street has rowed back on the Foreign Secretary’s assertion that Israel had broken international law by blocking aid shipments to Gaza. Number 10 said instead that the country was “at clear risk of breaching” its legal obligations after questions were raised about the UK Government’s position following remarks made in the Commons by David Lammy. Asked by Labour MP Rupa Huq what the consequences would be for the “provocative action” of blocking aid during the holy month of Ramadan, the Foreign Secretary had told the House on Monday: “Well, my honourable friend is right. “This is a breach of international law. “Israel, quite rightly, must defend its own security, but we find the lack of aid – and it has now been 15 days since aid got into Gaza – unacceptable, hugely alarming and very worrying.” Asked whether Mr Lammy had been speaking for the whole of Government, the Prime Minister’s official spokesman said: “As the Foreign Secretary said, and CDL (the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster) said on the morning round, our position remains that Israel’s actions in Gaza are at clear risk of breaching international humanitarian law. “And we continue to call on the government of Israel to abide by its international obligations when it comes to humanitarian assistance to the population in Gaza.”…

Heathrow fire at power sub-station – is it 1. an accident, 2. Russia 3. Extinction Rebellion or 4. MI5 to blame it on XR or Russia? or Western Secret Services? Starmer’s role in Ukraine. No attacks on Ukraine Infrastructure for 30 days – What will Putin do next? John Sawers – position of Europe and Ukraine so opposite to that of Putin’s. ‘Very old’ transformer failed and started Heathrow substation fire, expert claims, as hundreds of thousands are left stranded… amid incredulity that small blaze caused global chaos An experienced electrical engineer today blamed the catastrophic failure of an ‘oil-filled transformer’ for the devastating fire that has shut down Heathrow Airport and embarrassed Britain on the world stage. Tom Watters, who has worked on critical infrastructure around the world, told MailOnline the crucial substation powering Heathrow and west London contains ‘very old’ equipment and blamed a ‘lack of investment’ for the crisis. The substation fire in Hayes involved 25,000 litres of cooling oil igniting, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) has said. MailOnline can also reveal that a report for London Mayor Sadiq Khan in 2022 identified major problems with the electricity supply system in the Heathrow area. It warned that the North Hyde substation, which exploded into flames last night, has been running at 106.2 per cent of capacity. Electrical engineer Mr Watters, director of Sanguine Impact Investments, told MailOnline: ‘An oil filled transformer has obviously failed and caused the massive fire. ‘This looks like a very old transformer and it’s surprising that such an old piece of critical equipment was still in service. I assume a lack of investment is the reason. ‘The design of the substation while being ok is also very old style. Modern substations are normally enclosed using gas as the insulation’. It came as Heathrow announced it would restart some flights later today, with priority for passengers who have been left stranded there.

Macron warns French population to prepare for Nuclear war France issues its citizens with an invasion guide – including how to survive a nuclear attack – after Macron warned Europe must prepare for war France is set to issue a survival manual to households across the country, warning citizens how to respond to an invasion or any other ‘imminent threat’. The dramatic move comes as tensions rise in Europe and fears grow over Russia’s aggressive tactics. The new 20-page booklet, reportedly packed with 63 measures, will advise the French on how to protect themselves and their families in the event of armed conflict, natural disasters, industrial accidents or even a nuclear leak. It will include tips on how to create a ‘survival kit’ with essentials including six litres of water, canned food, batteries, a torch and basic medical supplies such as paracetamol and bandages. Crucially, it will offer advice on what to do if an attack is imminent, including how to join local defence efforts, such as signing up for reserve units or firefighting groups. Citizens will also be told to ‘lock their doors’ in the event of a nuclear incident – advice that has already drawn ridicule from commentators. Despite the alarming content, the French government insists the booklet is not a direct response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. President Emmanuel Macron has previously warned that Europe must be prepared to confront the ‘Russian threat’ and adapt to the possibility that America could scale back its military support. Earlier this week, Macron revealed that French fighter jets equipped with new generation hypersonic nuclear missiles will be sent to the German border as part of his bid to renew France’s airborne nuclear deterrent. Officials from the General Secretariat for Defence and National Security (SGDSN), which oversaw the booklet’s creation, claim the aim of the survival guide is simply to bolster France’s resilience in the face of ‘all types of crises’. The decision to draft the booklet reportedly dates back to 2022, in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, as part of a national strategy to improve public preparedness. But the timing of its release – expected before summer if approved by Prime Minister François Bayrou – has raised eyebrows. French newspaper Le Figaro noted that the kit’s rollout ‘could easily suggest that the state is reacting to the unstable international situation’. Macron has recently called for Europe to rearm in the face of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and America’s wavering commitment to upholding European security under Donald Trump…

Rachel Reeves cuts benefits to pay for war with Russia Huge cuts to UK benefits planned as Government looks to slash spending Rachel Reeves faces calls to step back from becoming ‘Labour’s austerity Chancellor’ as she prepares to slash billions of pounds from welfare and other Government budgets Rachel Reeves is expected to slash billions of pounds from the welfare bill and other government budgets as she battles to balance the books. The Chancellor’s room for manoeuvre is believed to have been wiped out by global turmoil and sluggish economic growth. But she faced calls not to become “Labour’s Austerity Chancellor” as speculation mounting over major spending cuts in the Spring Statement. The Treasury was due to present plans for big-ticket items like tax and public spending to the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) on Wednesday for its Spring forecast. A Government source said the “world has changed a lot” since the Budget in October, when the OBR indicated she had £9.9billion of wiggle room within her self-imposed borrowing rules. The watchdog is now expected to downgrade its forecast due to global factors like Donald Trump’s threats of trade tariffs, as well as higher than expected inflation and borrowing in the UK. This significantly raises the stakes for the Chancellor’s Spring Statement on March 26. Last week, Keir Starmer failed to rule out spending cuts or tax hikes but said the “big decisions on tax” had been taken in the Budget. A Government source said: “Clearly the world has changed a lot since the autumn Budget. “People are watching that change happen before their eyes. The Office for Budget Responsibility will reflect that changing world in its forecasts later this month and a changing world will be a core feature of the Chancellor’s response later this month.” The plans are believed to involve cuts to welfare, Whitehall budgets and wider government efficiencies. Work and Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall has been drawing up reforms to reduce the number of people on health-related benefits and get them back into work.

Part Two – International news review, Accelerationist, Armageddonist reports and investigations

Assassination of Beatles star John Lennon David Whelan, author of ‘Mind Games’, on the suspicious assassination of John Lennon. Mind Games: The Assassination of John Lennon by David Whelan On the 8th of December 1980, music icon and peace activist John Lennon was assassinated just inside the entrance to the Dakota Apartments, his New York home. This was the first high-profile celebrity murder in history. The world was in shock. Mark Chapman, the man accused and later convicted of the crime, surprisingly had stayed at the scene and started to read a novel. In Spring 2020, TV producer and writer David Whelan, concerned at the dozens of anomalies he found in the case, commenced a three-year long investigation into the assassination of John Lennon. Whelan gained exclusive access to the notebooks and paperwork of the NYPD’s lead detective on the case, as well as interviewing everyone who was connected to the events: Dakota workers, Lennon insiders and employees, NYPD cops and detectives, and the medics who tried to save John Lennon in the Roosevelt Hospital Emergency Room. All gave new and highly revealing testimony. Whelan’s thorough investigation will reveal overwhelming evidence which proves that Mark Chapman was not the cold and calculated killer we were told he was. Whelan’s investigation explosively reveals that nefarious actors and hidden organisations conspired to assassinate John Lennon, and to set up Mark Chapman as the fall guy for one of the world’s most infamous and shocking crimes. The official narrative about John’s despicable murder is a lie. We all know John was obsessed with getting to the truth of things. I hope this book goes some way to getting to the truth of his assassination. The book is in English language and is available on paperback in all Amazon outlets across the world. We will be publishing an e-book next Spring and we will also be producing an audio book early next year. We are currently negotiating foreign language version deals with individual publishers from various regions and countries across the world. As these deals are finalised, we will announce the releases as they happen next year. It’s going to be an uphill battle to get this book into the public consciousness. Please spread the word amongst your family and friends about this book and its content. As most of you know, I have been investigating John’s assassination for over three years now. I have spoken to everyone involved with the case and I have managed to access all the lead detective’s notebooks and files. I am relieved that all my work is now finally out there for the world to read. This book is the just the start of a process for getting justice for John Lennon. Though I believe my work has uncovered most of what really happened on 8th December 1980, there is still work to do. I urge everyone who reads the book to continue looking into the case. There are still unreleased FBI, CIA, NYPD and Manhattan DA’s office files. Most released files are still heavily redacted. We must continue to seek the whole truth about the people behind John Lennon’s assassination and their methods and motives. There are plenty more subjects surrounding the case that need further exploring beyond my book. Lastly, thank you to all my subscribers for your interest in my work. Your support is greatly appreciated. I’m looking forward to hearing what you all think about the book.

UK Monarchy is taking power in the UK using its massive rights of patronage in government, the armed forces and criminal justice – – King Charles last week entertains Zelensky and this week Mark Carney – Prince William visits Estonia on the front line with King Charles’ most hated Russia run, according to him, by ‘Hitler’ …Charles has much power, particularly of patronage and is intervening an international relations such as in Gaza where he supports Israel and Ukraine where he supports Zelensky ‘Political’ King Charles flexes soft power to support Ukraine – and relishes it After decades in which King Charles was told to stay firmly out of politics, the monarch suddenly finds himself playing a key role Buckingham Palace did not respond to a request to comment on the meeting with Mr Zelensky. But the result is nonetheless a rare nexus between the soft power of the House of Windsor and the very hardest version of geopolitics which, according to some, King Charles may well be privately relishing. Prior to his ascent to the throne, Charles had been careful to signal that his well-established tendency to lobby directly for the issues that moved him – from the fate of the planet to that of the patagonian tooth fish – would be curtailed once he became monarch. He once told an interviewer he would not be so “stupid” as to allow his reputation as a “meddler” to continue, saying: “I do realise that it is a separate exercise being sovereign. So of course I understand entirely how that should operate.” The former aide said: “For all the previous criticism made of the King, he is emerging more and more as a monarch fit for our times. He is thoughtful, he is engaged and, in contrast to the late Queen, he is willing to express his views, albeit carefully and appropriately. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was quietly enjoying this.” Indeed, it is pointed out that evidence for King Charles, almost despite himself, ushering in an era of an activist monarch is to be found precisely in the stark contrast between himself and his mother when it comes to expressing a political view. Shortly after Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, royal watchers were pointed to the fact that Queen Elizabeth had been seen posing next to a bunch of yellow and blue flowers. Aides let it be known that the suggestion this was a subtle show of support for Ukraine would not be wide of the mark. Times, it would seem, have changed. Dr Owens said: “Now we have Charles being used as shiny bait for the Trump magpie and the King himself being forthright on the issues. Charles is flexing his role here in ways that Elizabeth simply would not have.”
